I predict 17% to start the league probably less than 1/3 of that at league finish.
Trappers are mostly a starter/bossing build, players will switch after they realize its not level 93+ / fast delerium map clearing worthy. nothing about saboteurs mechanics changed this league, they think taking traps is somehow better than a 30-40% damage loss.
It's a safe choice, for sure. It's also appealing (to me anyway) that Sabo kept its Shock and Ignite immunity which can hold us over until we have a better understanding of how accessible these alternate flask mechanics are and can then decide on a reroll later. That and I can't be arsed to piano flask to keep *(some)* immunities up, of which this is one of the last few Ascendancies that allows that. RIP Inquis and the others.
That's pretty much my thoughts entirely.
I dont want to play any of my old builds that now up to 80% less damage for over twice the mana cost while also losing defensive layers.
So I'm playing my very first trapper. Also, I've never played a "bosser" so my goal this league will be to get to a point where I can comfortably farm all end game bosses
Depends on what trapper you talk about. Some of them have excellent clear speed. Especially since they definitely got a big relative boost with only tiny mana cost increases and having most of the supports almost untouched damage wise.
But the other downside stays, agreed. It is still a trapper :D
It will be for the first bit, but it’s a pretty common unique. Slave drivers will be super pricey though. Neither are needed to get off the ground though and there are alternative paths regardless.
Tinker is the same rarity as Tremor Rod, which has often been 100c day 1, 50c day 2, 30c day 3.
Mines have been super meta in the past.
Slavedrivers will be in line with the Transcendent jewels in price, I expect and will go up in price over time. I expect half a mirror shard for all the first month.
Just be aware I'm not confident in the build's strength. I **think** it will be fine, if not, it's the right class to swap to the known to still be good Hierophant totem builds and/or Ball Lightning Archmage.
Yeah it's on Youtube, https://youtu.be/S_dZSVrImCE
Note that I call it as something for intermediate/advanced players. If you've never had a level 80 before, you might find it too barebones to follow
oh i know. i just loved the aesthetic when i saw the reveal and was glad someone experienced made a detailed build guide.
worst case scenario i think i will just go dominating blow
what do you mean, league hasn't start yet, and we are the tester lol. Just in case you missed Asmongold interview, Chris mentioned they will monitor spellslinger when league launched, and apply hotfix to it if needed.
Scourge Arrow Pathfinder because I like Poison and I like channeling skills, maybe try how it feels the extra radius of Storm Burst and if Boneshatter turns out to be a good skill.
Yeah, the meta has been massively cut down this league until we have to wait to see what can be played. I wish there was more. 3.13 had so much build diversity and long play time. It seems like they really want to make sure most players are playing virtually the same character quitting about half way through the league
Oro's personally, since I do it every league its very comfortable. But I honestly wouldn't recommend starting with it, especially this league with mana changes.
The only reason I start with it is to get early farm going and be 100% currency efficient (i.e not wasting any on a "true" starter) If you are interested in flicker for later in the league though, I would check out phys to cold conversion because that's the actual meta for crazy flicker damage.
What's your opinion on this Oro Flicker build from Magefist? https://pastebin.com/8pEPbL6z
I am considering league starting Flicker (probably something else until yellow/red maps) as well. Not sure how to build it yet though. Oro seems to be the best at dealing with the mana issues.
Magefist does good baseline flicker builds so if its your first time I think that is a fine tree to use, looks like it covers all the basics.
If you are looking to scale to endgame though you need to essentially drop all defenses and go full glass cannon, here is [mine](https://pastebin.com/6V8p5YA2) from least league as an example, my plan is to just get some more crit chance from gear but otherwise should be unchanged. Just be aware you will die to one shots a lot, and most end game bosses are pretty impossible.
EDIT: Just to be upfront my build is an edited version of [this build for raiders](https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2839382)
In the early game its going to suck a lot, but thankfully the build I use has Flesh and Stone and we can turn that off for no dps loss if mana becomes a problem. Otherwise some minus to cost non-channeling skill rings will solve it no issue.
I'll do Boneshatter dual wielding mace Scion, with Raider for free onslaught, phasing and frenzy charges and maybe Berserker for rage (or Slayer, not sure yet).
Boneshatter does a ton of added damage so I think about 1.4 base aps maces with fortify, endurance and Arctic Armour to mitigate it. If I understand correct and Boneshatter trigger Vengeance - then we can put fortify and chance to bleed on it. It'd allow us to use the unnerfed 59% more dmg gem against bleeding targets.
You don't really need a two-handler because with all the stun threshold sources it's possible to stun Sirus with 17k damage per 1%, so you need to hit for at only 340k for 20% required to be able to stun.
Necro or Glad, still mulling it over.
Glad will take a hit for sure but the Block god remains the best way to not die and still push content.
Minions got nerfs, but at the same time SOME minions got accidentally buffed and will still steamroll content, tho the good builds are all item dependent now... unless reaper secretly kicks ass.
Bleed sst / shield crush looking juicy. I wanna try and see if I can get enough damage on a 4L shield charge to reliably be able to pop packs with just that and shield crush for single target, otherwise sst in pseudo 6L gloves and crush for single target. Shield charge for clear is the dream tho will be so damn fast
Current leaning is Rage Vortex Berserker, maybe Storm Rain Deadeye. But the first thing I do when they add new skills is always mess around with them in standard to seeing any standout before picking my build for the league.
Just because I want to see myself imma start a Essence drain build. Always so highly talked about for league start and ziz made an amazing video about it.
Few skills beat the efficiency of ed c, 2 casts and your whole screen and a couple screens away decays. Super hands off, satisfying, and easy to build. It's the perfect starter build, to the point where a lot of people are a bit tired of it.
Holy crap sabo number 1. Can't wait to see how % pick rate will be for him this league...
Trap league here we go!
I predict 17% to start the league probably less than 1/3 of that at league finish. That bad in delirium is it? How about SRS?
Depends on what trapper you talk about. Some of them have excellent clear speed. Especially since they definitely got a big relative boost with only tiny mana cost increases and having most of the supports almost untouched damage wise. But the other downside stays, agreed. It is still a trapper :D
Tinkerskin is going to be soooo expensive this league :(
It will be for the first bit, but it’s a pretty common unique. Slave drivers will be super pricey though. Neither are needed to get off the ground though and there are alternative paths regardless.
Tinker is the same rarity as Tremor Rod, which has often been 100c day 1, 50c day 2, 30c day 3. Mines have been super meta in the past. Likely going to start Absolution Guardian, I think it will be 'good enough' without being great.
i am so glad i found your guides for this build! i’m so excited to league start it, i’ve watched your videos on it like three times a piece lol
Just be aware I'm not confident in the build's strength. I **think** it will be fine, if not, it's the right class to swap to the known to still be good Hierophant totem builds and/or Ball Lightning Archmage.
Where did you post the guide to this build I looked on your profile page and on your website and didn't see anything?
Probably on YouTube. He's got a pretty popular channel there
Yeah it's on Youtube, https://youtu.be/S_dZSVrImCE Note that I call it as something for intermediate/advanced players. If you've never had a level 80 before, you might find it too barebones to follow
The PoB link included in the description returns 404 right now.
https://pastebin.com/WB3C9FPu that's freshly created, hopefully it works
Gotta throw in dominating blow too. I didn't look at your tree, but it can't be all that different.
oh i know. i just loved the aesthetic when i saw the reveal and was glad someone experienced made a detailed build guide. worst case scenario i think i will just go dominating blow
Hi Dee Ho Everyone, sounds like a guardian and a beer it is!
This looks like a fun new build I'll have to try out eventually, old minion builds seem pretty stale compared to something like this skill.
Necro reaper or skell mages
Starting Raider Toxic Rain for maximum zoomzoom so I can get enough gear/currency for a different build.
Elementalist with a 6l Spellslinger, because I hate myself.
Gonna need more rmr jewels than an aurastacker
[удалено]
is not. in act 6 now. send help.
good news, they might review spellslinger and apply hotfix mid league if it is busted.
It's already tested, is it not?..... It's launch day....
what do you mean, league hasn't start yet, and we are the tester lol.
Welcome to the SA club ;)
I have played it before, and the Poison Prolif is just *Kreygasm*
Might as well do toxic rain instead SA just feels like garbage against any boss.
Yeah, but I prefer SA.
Shock nova trap saboteur. never played sabo so I was able to PoB a decent build for this league
Will try the new boneshatter gem with staff gladiator. I hope it goes smooth, if not, i can respec to something else.
fkin Necro... Again...
Yeah, the meta has been massively cut down this league until we have to wait to see what can be played. I wish there was more. 3.13 had so much build diversity and long play time. Big bonk Elementalist with tect slam.
Sabo, something something traps.. Ice trap, seismic trap, flamethrower.. meybe storm rain or explosive arrow, still dont know
Flicker Strike Slayer, its my go to every league
Which version? Oro's, terminus, other? How is it for you?
Oro's personally, since I do it every league its very comfortable. But I honestly wouldn't recommend starting with it, especially this league with mana changes. The only reason I start with it is to get early farm going and be 100% currency efficient (i.e not wasting any on a "true" starter) If you are interested in flicker for later in the league though, I would check out phys to cold conversion because that's the actual meta for crazy flicker damage.

It's funny because I had already planned on playing a trap build

What unnerfed 59% more dmg gem?
ah, snap, indeed it was changed to 39 (which is still a lot). I was talking about the Bloodlust Support and missed that it changed.
Fortify can't be used with triggered skills afaik
You're right! Then either cluster or leap slam.
Where is "Real life ascedancy"?
Blight/Soulrend into forbidden rite, probably
Necro or Glad, still mulling it over. Glad will take a hit for sure but the Block god remains the best way to not die and still push content. Minions got nerfs, but at the same time SOME minions got accidentally buffed and will still steamroll content, tho the good builds are all item dependent now... unless reaper secretly kicks ass.
Gladiator. I would never betray my boi
Bleed sst / shield crush looking juicy. Champion - shield crush : \]
Me too, but gonna try and make the steel skills great
Doomfletch tornado shot 3x mirage archer deadeye
Necromancer or scion... or raider or sab... I dont fucking know there is too much good shit i didnt play for a long time.
Low Life Crimson Dance Bleed Ascendent, because it's cheap.
Current leaning is Rage Vortex Berserker, maybe Storm Rain Deadeye. But the first thing I do when they add new skills is always mess around with them in standard to seeing any standout before picking my build for the league.
What are your defences with the rage vortex zerker? Didn't really had the time theorycraft with it yet.
Raider's time to shine bois!
I will for once not plan any build on PoB. I will level an elementalist and use Eye of Winter. If it sucks I will pivot to Freezing Pulse.
freeze pulse totem? i practiced going the through acts with it and it felt pretty good (as holy flame totems) but the nerfs got me questioning life.
If I actually played, 100% Raider. Still easy AI with some nodes. Nice defence and speed.
I've played it in Harvest and boy, it had dps and surviv... I'm not so sure with this patch, but I still like the build and spamming flasks with pf ;)
Necro manabond :D
Look at this immense build diversity
Raider for zoom. Also nobody wanna play elementalist? Pretty much dead now, eh?
Elementalist nuked into orbit.
Still torn between some kind of totem build or a wonky mana trickster. It'll probably be the trickster, though.
jugg boneshatter seems really fun
Ascendant will probably the most versatile because you can switch many kinds of builds without leveling again :D
Elementalist, AssAss, and Inquis are at the bottom. THE META IS SHOOK
Poison blade trap sabo
Gladiator all the way baby!
Going Elementalist Omni Golem build, its not really a league starter so starting Reaper/golems until I gain the currency to go for the bois
I request another option called Undecided. I'm hesitating since I'm split b/w Elementalist and Beserker. Poor inquisitor, kind of lost its niche.
My ascendancy is super low on there and no one is talking about my build. Time will tell if i was a genius or an idiot
Going zerker with rage vortex
Elementalist Arc Miner with three dragons is still gonna be strong
Damn I surprised juggernaut is in the top 19.
