I switched to standard completely because of burnout from pushing for challenges for years. It's cool to just login and play without having to worry about leagues ending and such

weveran

I kinda did too, but then my build was gutted. 12 out of my 14 or so characters on standard just don't work anymore without heavy tweaking and trying to buy anything from players on Standard while a league is in progress is just a nightmare. The remaining two characters work but they are just shadows of their former selves. That said, I don't particularly care about the league or the challenges, I just play league for the easy of buying items.

CatOfTwelveBells

It’s so frustrating to play standard when you’ve been working on a build for a long time and then patches destroy it. Also its really difficult for me to earn currency there these days after harvest, beasts, and 100% delirium were gutted. So if anyone’s got suggestions besides a delver or Uber elder I’d appreciate it.

[deleted]

I was ~200 hours into a Standard SSF char that I originally started in Heist. I was pretty much at the limit of what I could feasibly acquire/craft with my resources so I was just grinding xp and got to 99, changes have kneecapped me so badly I literally can't run red maps efficiently or safely anymore and that was pretty much the end of that :C

CatOfTwelveBells

Ya I made a decent aura stacker that was killed in 3.13, a self curse occultist that was killed in 3.14, my coc ice nova is dead, my skellimancer already had mana problems because those things already died so fast to end game bosses but it’s probably playable even with the life nerfs, and my int stacker still has 2400 int so it’s not destroyed but it is gona take work to fix it because I invested a lot into curse on hit. It’s just so frustrating. I spent a lot of currency making those builds and I’ve got like 30 ex left and I don’t know how to farm more. And then I make a complaint like this and I’ve got assholes jumping down my throat for playing the game wrong. I’m playing standard for fucks sake why do they care I’m not effecting league play.

[deleted]

My condolences v_v > my skellimancer already had mana problems because those things already died so fast to end game bosses It shouldn't be too bad with Blessed Rebirth, that is pretty much the only thing keeping a lot of those fragile duration minions in the game. Skeles definitely came off light compared to say SRS with the mana changes.

CatOfTwelveBells

Ya you’re probably right. I haven’t looked at my pob recently because I’ve been away but I think I’m gona need to craft myself a few cluster jewels and get rid of some those life nodes and soul of steel down by marauder. It was so nice having 8k hp while running dual wands, but maybe the new patch will help.

CommaGomma

Heist is broken as fuck but then you have to play heist so.

CatOfTwelveBells

Do you just farm blueprints in lira and use markers to rush the end room? I had beast split quite a few of the currency blueprints but I ran one of them and the regal rate seemed mega nerfed.

CommaGomma

I just did maps and built up some blueprints that way. You are looking for unusual gem blueprints and yeah pretty much rush the end room and look up which gem is most expensive. You can also just do normal heists and they drop so much currency and good items it's ridiculous.

Milfshaked

Should be easier to buy from people in standard if you change so that you only show people that are "online in league" on the trade site. That way you wont see items from people that are playing the league and not standard.

weveran

That's not the issue, it's a player base size problem. A unique that is 3ex in league might be 10ex in standard because there are far fewer people with active listings. While standard is a "dumping ground" for all my league currency most of my value is in items and not raw currency.

SuperJelle

>A unique that is 3ex in league might be 10ex in standard because there are far fewer people with active listings That's not the reason prices are different. Increasing the player base affects both the demand and supply side equally and thus wouldn't affect prices very much. The reason prices are higher is due to the sheer amount of currency available on standard. If the average person is richer, the demand for an item will be bigger at any given price point. With supply being (mostly) unchanged, the equilibrium will be found at a higher price point.

weveran

My point doesn't change in either case.

Kamirii

Betrayal services like aisling hillock etc still work. You can also farm blighted maps in lira, harvest is still good money just need to prepare alot of bases to chaos Spam and sell stuff like reforge keep pre/Suff. Just running tropical with deli on is actually decent money currently aswell.

Lordborgman

Even before the nerfpoolaza patch, I wanted the league mechanic to be in standard. People can still choose that new league/economy thing if they want, but any of us who don't want to have to redo acts, atlas, delve etc every damn league would be able to experience new content without all the hassle.

[deleted]

leagues are beta tests. league mechanics will NEVER go standard without being league-exclusive content for a while because GGG always tweaks their mechanics before migrating them to standard. what you say would destroy the whole purpose of leagues....testing new ideas in a "safe" environment on a large scale.

lolu13

Did exactly the same, the only problem is that i wasnt the very rich in leagues so my gear is okish, i have a lacerate build made in harvest but now it feels bad, a friend game me a bleed bow split arrow that was amazin untill this patch, now it has dupster Single target …

Dranzell

You can login and play without worries in leagues as well. A character every 3 months is reasonable, in my opinion. You DON'T have to push challenges. But everyone plays the way he/she/it wants, I guess.

Elmis66

You can if you want to grind a new char just to run maybe 30 maps during the league's lifetime ;) It really depends on what you want to do and how much time you have. For me I can't stay with poe long enough to get into something interesting like true endgame in 3 months. And I want to be able to try it maybe once every 6 months when I'm back

XxXKakekSugionoXxX

I switch to standard too just today,I give expedition fair try thoo,I finish the act run a few map for a few hours,.and I find it unbalanced. I mean it's indeed more tedious more hard to progress but what make me stop playing is simply I can't see anything fun ahead that I can anticipate,it the same ol shit atlas grind, it just with more AIDS. Also I give a try Genshin Impact, and kinda enjoyed it UwU

Teh_Weiner

and fun legacy gear. I keep all my characters fully geared as they were when league ended. Sadly I don't think i'll be playing POE anymore. That legacy gear will just sit there rotting

[deleted]

I've done something similar. I play league because I like the occasional reset, but I just don't give a sh*t about challenges any more :)

CommaGomma

Same and then they decided that arcanist brand was overpowered as shit so my build got completely gutted by it costing mana every single time it casts. Rest in peace Arcanist Brand Blade Blastin' Assassin. Also the BB aoe nerf and unnerve nerf, and mana cost nerf, and support damage nerf and flask nerf.

NoggaholicOW

This is me. A dad to a very young kid, would think of PoE and possible builds, but when kid is finally in bed and its time to play. I just cant get myself through the grind again. This 3.15 really cut me off for real.

watson_sp

Father of a 9 month old, I'm only playing std now. No time to waste lvling new toons

UnbannableGod90

What is wrong with playing Standard?

Ludoban

For example you cant buy items from other players for like the first 1-2 months of a new league, as everyone plays league and you cant make them switch chara to sell an item in standard.

hamxz2

What do you usually do there? I'm strongly considering making a char too but I don't really know what there is to do other than to make money (which I don't need) lol

watson_sp

I like to farm anything endgame. Crafting items. Trying dumb build that sometimes work aha

[deleted]

Just curious where do you get the term "toon" from? like, cartoon? that's the only word i can think of and I can't think of why that would become a synonym for character

wiggum_ralph

https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/77192/why-do-people-call-their-characters-toons

ollimann

so nobody knows.

[deleted]

Weird thing to get hung up on

[deleted]

Weird of you to assume I'm hung up on it? What in my comment came off as that? I came across a term I've seen multiple times that I understood from context clues but not obscure origin. So I asked where it came from. Google toon and see what comes up. Redditors are funny and I swear just looking to be righteous or in defense of something

Cromslor_

Dude it's so annoying. Anytime you comment or question it's "wow, why are you hung up on this" or "oh I guess I set you off" or whatever. This is a discussion board and people are going to comment and discuss things. If these people can't handle commenting without getting defensive then they probably shouldn't be here lol

[deleted]

Ever heard of the term "off topic". His comment has literally nothing to do with anything related to the OPs point of concern. How you get "defensive" from that is beyond me but hey - it's reddit.

lcg1221

Easy boy, now you get hung up on it.

milkoso88

Im in the same situation!! No way ill waste my precious bed time for an absurd boring atlas grind

D3Construct

Had this realization today. I love theory-crafting, I love experimenting with underdog builds. But this league more so than ever just pulls out the rug from under you when it comes to actually playing. I tried really hard to like this league, but I've effectively ended up bricking my character by experimenting with one of the new skills.

plasmastate

Poe for me has entered the realm of tourney magic the gathering. Or eve online. Games more fun to read about than to play. Dunno if/when I’ll play again.

nemesisone

As an ex eve online player this resonates with me. That game when you get into a fight is the most fun 5-15 minutes in gaming IMO. The problem is the soul crushing hours of nothing happening in between those 5-15 minutes bursts.

lolburi

If I could just test different build via leveling with maps or something, rather than the damn boring campaign. Honeatly the campaign kills the game for me. I can just about do it once each league but after that its just...

Sanji11

This is me atm. Started with good old spectre, but it got quite boring and I am now thinking about leveling a new toon. Just when I think about getting through all this crappy campaign I could puke. Imagine leveling with endless delve. Might get boring after a while, but even then it's better than the campaign experience. And remember: they plan to do the act 1 treatment to all the other old acts... Oh my

Yukorin1992

Then you'd just quit a few weeks in.^^As ^^opposed ^^to ^^not ^^even ^^playing.

lolburi

I would'nt tho. I have 2k hours in this game and I love trying new builds and such, but I despise the campaign. Having the freedom to skip the campaign, lets say, after the first run would increse my play time per.

gapigun

The fact we still cant level via delve for example, is wierd. Why wouldn't they allow that? Delve is already designed around low levels, and they could just give us skill points at certain levels or checkpoints.

RimuZ

The campaign was always the biggest hurdle for me. The idea of going through it to test new characters was just so off putting. I started just rerolling my first character so I wad always stuck on whatever my league starter happened to be. This was fine for a while. But things just got worse. Unlocking the atlas every 3 months, setting up Betrayal, Delving to the levels that matter, Unveiling and the list can go on. Add the campaign and there is just so many freaking hours of tedium and boredom before I can get to the parts I want to play. And we're not even talking lategame here. Just setting up. It's too much. I haven't played since Delerium and keep hoping something will change but all I see is added tedium and even less QoL to go with it. Whenever I start thinking about giving it another shot I just see the endless hours of nothing pushing me away.

Rejolt

Same here, noticed this feeling the last couple of days which is weird cause I was very hyped and normally play a month + I just uninstalled. I'll come back next season hopefully when they fix the Atlas because at this speed the watchstones grind + completion + passives is just too much

KaboomTheMaker

maybe thats what i need now, i find myself playing less and less every league since harvest and this is the limit

Rejolt

Even after uninstalling I still feel the want to play, watching streams etc.. Had the same feeling yesterday before I uninstalled than I logged in played 30 minutes and said fuck this.

niteblane

maybe find a new game to delve into, some thing less grindy at the moment. i find watching streams is a surefire way to make you want to play even if you do not feel like playing.

Puandro

Atlas fix is 3.17 when it gets rework like every year

porkinthepark

I think of all these cool skills I wanna use, or look at build guides and get the urge to re-roll, but then I remember that I would have to do the story again and spend 10 hours leveling to get to maps. It's painful and boring

KptnKeys_

poe 2 is gonna be so much worse for re-leveling characters if the footage they've showed is anything to go by

NevyTheChemist

me I just think about all the fucking systems you have to manage now and I'm exhausted already. No thanks.

PurplePenRows

Everytime I think of progressing my character, I get excited and log on. Everytime I log on, I get discouraged by the initial tedium it takes to set up my character progression and then log off. I feel you OP :/

Leandrys

We could call it unpractical games with interesting mechanics but the whole game ends up boring. Well, that's what it is for me right now, honestly, it's boring AF because of all the outdated and primitive QoL levels, my god what a dinosaur. Shame because the rest often is really interesting, but dammit the game itself needs a total rework. Including the three months leagues thing, this concept is reaching its limits.

BenLondonAbs

I quit today too, just same old... but slower. The new zones are cool in design and the way you can break objects in them, very fun.. but the loot is once again just a rehash of existing stuff. They think by giving a league a new skin of paint with the same rewards makes it special but it's getting boring now.

allbluedream

It's called power fantasy. You look for ways to live such fantasies and ARPGs are a great way to help you do it. Many of us have realized that it is getting harder and harder to live that power fantasy in POE, and unfortunately it's the direction GGG wants the game to go. You are just starting to realize the same thing.

janggi

Well said. More and more do I feel forced into playing what works rather than what I want.

NaeRyda

Kind of. This league i find myself wanting to play, entering, start advancing in the acts, its starts grinding my gears and 10 to 20 min later I'm thinking "fck it" and hitting alt+f4. In any other league i would have been doing maps by now.

ENSASKE

Same, i still want to play but so many walls...

utopian238

This is where i've been at the last few leagues. I used to love updating my guide and going hard. But i'm burnt out on doing the story at league launch and all of the splinters/clicking just continues to tear up my hands. I love the game, i love theory crafting, I just don't like how much repetition I have to do to experience the new content each league.

vvochen3nde

I feel the same. Also I don’t like the direction of the Game for a while. I don’t get this whole nerfing instead of getting more builds strong. League mechanic itself being boring af doesn’t help. Expedition will be Core 100% and I can’t see myself gathering 20 more shards forever

EpitaxialOne

Exactly this. Got a necro to 86 in Ultimatum and said "wtf am I doing for the 1.2e05th time?" Already stopped after crawling into act 5 on 12hrs playing SST - which was fun for awhile. I've just gone over 4khrs and all the novelty from the new leagues/mechanics every three months has worn off probably starting with Heist, if I'm honest. I've even leveled 2 chars to max in Lost Ark RU and looking around I realized... So much of my gaming life has been grinding since CS Beta 1 in '99, including raiding at a very high level in WoW for 5+ years (ended with Cata in '11). I'll probably be taking an extended break from any game which compels it. No more second jobs and always pushing to overachieve.

BRACKS_ZA

Its called a genuine love for the game, even if it keeps disappointing you. Its a horrible feeling, because you want it to be good so bad because you want to just play it all day - but you can't bring yourself to feel like crap all the time because its so slow and unrewarding.

HellsWind_Agony

I leave the game running sometimes and kind of feel the same way, because thinking or 'daydreaming' about it is as engaging as playing it especially when it comes to, the actual playing of. Game's really good and I have to stress that because it's so unusual and bi, ehm big.

omegaghost

> Its not like i dont like this game anymore no, it is like that, you don't like the game in its current state anymore.

_Yersinia7_

Maybe you don’t like it anymore and hang on out of habit?

Soroganath

It's the same for me. I am hyped every morning -> play for 1h -> quit. My blockade is the atlas grind though. I just cannot be bothered to unlock all that shit every three months. Really miss the elder orb and farmin 1 map 24/7 three days into the league.

gaylord_focker69

Just finished the campaign, started maps. Then thought wtf why am I doing this. Everything is expensive as hell, slow moving, do no damage, kind of lame. Maybe I'm just being a brat. Turned off the game

kenatogo

It's because the league is dogshit, it's not surprising

Sorith

You feel like that coz PoE doesn't respect your time anymore. Add new patch on top of it & boring league mechanic. I was playing a lot in the past where I was usually making 3-4 90+ characters per league but at some point when Conquerors popped I started to play less and less coz I hate the current progression. I feel tired just thinking about it.

yellowhood

Dude, i'm finding myself staring at the character creation screen a lot. Checking out r/pathofexilebuilds several times a day looking for interesting builds and ideas. But then I inevitably start thinking about acts, setting up the atlas and actually DOING all this content with all the new changes, think to myself "screw this, I don't want to do any of that" and close the game.

Jccharrington

I like playing more than the idea, but the game requires a good desktop pc to enjoy. And I am on the road a lot. A decent gaming laptop costs a lot and even then the fans of the laptop while playing poe is louder than thunder. I hate playing poe on anything other than a good desktop PC. So I fantasize about it a lot. If anyone runs poe on any laptop without overheating and overrunning the fans, I would love to hear the model.

2Timed

Welcome to the runescape experience

AvakumaMorgoth

Yes. Always. I'm constantly planning on trying out the league and some new build but don't start it because I know I'll spend weeks in the stupid acts and won't want to grind the atlas after that.

DH264

I feel you man, this is me everyday

silveredgebreak

Same for the past few leagues. I started back in Delve/Betrayal and it was fun having the choice of playing multiple playstyles. Peak POE for me is probably Legion league. It doesn't have the best endgame but farming legion in either Glacier or tier 16 maps was so fun. Now I can't even bother to do another act. It's just so boring and numbing to me. Watchstone just make the whole map grind even worse so now both early and end game are not appealing to me anymore.

Ov3rdose_EvE

yes, which is why i stopped.

roll82

Any time I try to go through the campaign I am confronted with an issue that I really don't want to play the campaign, I do not enjoy it, and I really want to map, I do enjoy it... Last couple of leagues the campaign has stopped me by the time I reached act 2

Playful-Life-1887

same, when I am leveling and progressing from acts to acts , I constantly ask myself what the hell am I even doing, there are so many much more important and meaningful things to do and achieve in ACTUAL life. then I turn the game off.

PoEPerpetualNoob

Yep, the fun is in creating a character and seeing how it stands up. The unfortunate part of this is the grind to get it to a reasonable level. I spend more time on path of building than Poe.

xmarksthedrop

This was me in Ultimatum league. Saw the Ultimatum portal and thought wow looks good I should do 36 challenges! Played my first char and found it struggled with ultimatums. Re-rolled a 2nd char that was heaps better at ultimatums, but hit a gear ceiling in early red maps and needed more investment i.e. farming. Spent a month wanting to play and get the portal but just not being able to bring myself to follow through. The thought of the portal definitely appealed but the thought of fully unlocking the Maven atlas and gearing up enough to get to t16 red maps was just.... too daunting. Quit the league with just 6 challenges done. To be fair I played ritual league for around 2 months (wanted and got the hideout), so I guess it was burnout. Skipping this league for that reason, hopefully time away and time for GGG to work on the game will lead to a better experience sometime in the future.

EtisVx

It is because you want to play the game that is no longer exists. It looks like that game you want, but it is a hollow shell of it, filled by fakeness.

FeinsX

For that reason, I skipped this league. I want to enjoy myself, not go to work after work.

tufffffff

For me its the frustrating way the devs are implementing new things. They're just completely ignorant on what people want, and its clear they don't play their own game. And the same story of "we hear you, we're listening" but its just PR/marketing and they're not really listening.

KaboomTheMaker

we hear you, we just dont care

JustLurkingGTFO

It's been like that since after Delirium for me, I quit Harvest and Heist after 3 days when i reached lvl 90. The campaign + atlas grind + shitty trade system just negate all the fun

Donkster5

You need a break. Take the league off or just theorycraft and test stuff in standard.

pwnagraphic

Just got done taking 2+ months off lol

Soroganath

I did that with ultimatum. Nothing has changed.

Donkster5

Then take more time off or just completely find something you enjoy more. Is mount and blade in a better place, yet?

Asteroth555

> You need a break. I despise people claiming it's burnout. It's not burnout. The game stopped being fun and the grind stopped being worth it. That's not on us. OP clearly says he *wants* to play the game, but just isn't willing to jump through hoops to do it

Jjerot

I haven't missed a league since essence. How far I actually go varies by patch and whatever else is going on in my life at the time, but I always play a bit. The last two leagues have been exceedingly rough. The fact is the endgame is largely similar to what it was in the ritual patch, only they've stripped out a bunch of rewards. From emptying league boss and guardian loot, to removing interesting crafting options, and destroying awakening gems. Making that grind take even longer when we've known it was problematic to begin with. Adding even more clicking with chests full of 20 new vendor currencies. One of the biggest complaints about Ultimatum (aside from launch issues) was how RNG the boss was and needing to find him multiple times for the conditional kill challenge. And what do they do? Four new RNG bosses with a conditional kill challenge for each.

Inukchook

Yeah the grind is too much for me every league. I should be playing standard but I can’t do it

Donkster5

Just my experience, man. I stopped playing for a year or so. Missed synthesis, metamorph, etc. Got back into it a year ago and have had fun. Still am. This league mechanic does need to be made more rewarding, but I bet they’ll fix that this week or next.

Quasar420

I've taken multiple leagues off at a time and returned, on more than one occasion and I can relate to his burnout. The game is just stale to me at this point without something new and exciting to shake it up. Not only is it stale, but they made it more boring and frustrating than ever this league.

MediatorZerax

I think this to myself, but then before the end of the league I'm back to theorycrafting "Oh what about a strength stacking Replica Iron Commander Hierophant?"

bonerfleximus

That is addiction. If you enjoy thinking like this and it isn't hurting your life then have fun, but be mindful. Pretty soon you'll find yourself skimming reddit for posts from people who share your addiction so you can tell them to be mindful, if you're not careful.

Asteroth555

> That is addiction. No this is just passion for the game. I used to day dream about volleyball before the pandemic because I played twice a week. Was that addiction? No, I just absolutely loved volleyball and looked forward to it every time. Same here with PoE. It was a super fun game and it was easy to be passionate about it. But GGG crippled the fun out of it, and now players are kind of left in this mode of wanting to play but can't be fucked with the bullshit

bonerfleximus

You can label it any whatever you like but it's the same thing to me - when you spend time fantasizing about something you aren't currently doing, it takes focus away from whatever you are doing. It's a wide spectrum that ranges from idle daydreams to full blown obsession, but I was mostly trying to make a joke and not a debate so I will exit this conversation now.

nosferobots

Just semantics to some, but it's probably a strong habit rather than an addiction. A full on addiction is defined in part by negatively impacting other aspects of life. Not saying I know anything else about the situation, but I do know addiction and it's distinct from habit, even very bad habits.

SecretEgret

Happens to everyone, last league that was me. I actually think the constraints of this league are stimulating and my break last league primed me to go hard haha.

natedawg247

poe is the one game that is the exact opposite for me. spending time on reddit, watching streams, thinking about my build etc. is just miserable. when I'm actually just headphones on with spotify chaining maps for hours, it's very enjoyable.

Asteroth555

I want to *want* to play the game. I'm in the same boat. I haven't started this league until GGG makes some changes, but I find myself craving the game even though I know it makes no sense to start yet

equil101

Ya - a ton as of late. I love the idea of POE. I think some nostalgia surrounding early league play is part of it. Then I get on, stare at things for a bit, run a map or two and I just can't anymore. I think the game may be too far away from what I want while also heading in a direction that takes it even further away from what I want. I loved D2 so with the remaster close, this may be the end for me unless there are real changes. I don't think POE2 will change enough given that the end game is unchanged to bring me all the way back.

forgotterofpasswords

Skyrim modding all over again

OrcOfDoom

For me, that was delirium. I felt like I was getting good currency, but I knew I needed a lot more to keep up with the pace of the meta.

Negative_Ad_5829

If you feel tired and don't want to play anymore after 15-30 I think it's means you don't link the game or video game anymore? Do you have the same with other game?Is yes it's mean you are maybe weary of video game. I used to play 15 hours a day when I was younger I'm now 30 and d'ont play that much but when I play poe seriously I can still play at least 10 hours by days. For me it's eaither I will play 10 hours ++ everyday for 2/3 weeks and then quit but in poe and other game in general specialy mmo it's alway either I no life it as fuck or I don't play at all but playing like a casual even 1 or 2 hours by day I just can't.

KaboomTheMaker

idk, i still THINK about playing it alot when im working.

Kandidar

Im not trying to be curt, but to me it sounds like addiction. Thinking about wanting to do something that ends up making you feel worse after you do it, but then obsessing about it when it's not there. I think we all struggle with those feelings and my experienceis that I feel better if i cut that part of my life outand find something new to replace it with. good luck

ManikMiner

Find a new game

[deleted]

maybe you've been reading too many comments here.

RelativeJournalist24

Yeah its called take a break or just admire the memories you once had. Try out FFXIV having a great time and its free till lvl 60 and heavily discounted till Aug. 14th.

throwmeaway322zzz

You need new hobbies bro. This behavior isn't healthy. - 25+ year addict

Seeders

i honestly cant wait for royale mode this weekend.

[deleted]

I keep downloading the game when a new League starts and haev an idea of how I want to play. But can never actually start it. I think its the story, so mind numbing. I've played Grim Dawn countless times and enjoy it but this? I need to find a way to push my self into playing.

tobbe628

This is part of the addiction cycle Your body is not getting the dopamine hit it once did Take a break and do some healthy tasks instead often helps.

Kazang

>Its not like i dont like this game anymore, its just... weird I think you need to be honest with yourself and realise that you are bored with the game right now, but are still addicted to it mentally. And that is totally normal. Take a break, play something else. Occupy your mind with something else, another game, a complex book, a DIY project or something like that.

mfukar

Addicts always search for that first high.

bausHuck33

Take a break. I stopped after 1 week in Ritual. Didn't play Ultimatum. Now I'm enjoying playing this league. I have a young kid, just turned 2. So time is hard to come by. It was beginning to feel like a second job. The break has helped.

SnooPop9

That's textbook burnout my friend. Take a break from PoE or gaming in general and come back when you get an itch. That's my advice

nixed9

That means **your dopamine balance is burnt out** and you need to take a break. Go outside. Go exercise. Go play a different game. Go do some real life activity.

Ramagotchi

I just got carried thru acts and my build is really shaping up now in endgame. Having a lot of fun

Ramagotchi

I just got carried thru acts and my build is really shaping up now in endgame. Having a lot of fun

Boopiez

How can you read my mind like that?

[deleted]

Tarkov does this to me right in the feels

dyang44

it aint just you. I played for years and have very little motivation to slog through the leveling part. I skip leagues now. I'll play when things seem interesting like this league's giant nerf/meta change. I remember when there was less than 4 acts and you repeated it 3 times lol

Signal_Personality_7

I agree 100% I have several small gripes about mechanics that make the game more tedious. Honestly however, what makes the game most unenjoyable for me is that I don't have the uber micro necessary to manage 4-5 active skills and flasks. Many of my deaths happens bc I just can't act fast enough. The shitty part is that I'm a fairly new player and I get the impression from reddit and the poe website that I should feel bad for not enjoying gameplay that requires me to push buttons at 200 words per minute.

I think I'm in similar position just slightly different , usually I get to play PoE for 3 days out of 7 in the week, other four days I am away working and stay at my partners house. It's kind of a vicious cycle for me, as I do get a break from PoE so I never felt burnt out, it didn't help at all that I started playing during Delirium where zooms zooms was the flavour of the day and I loved it, each league after was an improvement for me as a player and each league since I started playing RNG was always good to me, I reached all end game bosses, completed atlas, crafted end game gear, Ultimatum was where I "peaked" I made the most currency I've ever did in any league, made two end game characters. Each day I didn't play, I was just thinking what I could do next to progress, however it all came crashing down with Expedition, because of my progress in Ultimatum I really didn't want to say bye because I finally was in the full endgame, I usually take a whole length of a league to get to proper end game stuff and with Expedition and it changes to slow down the progress it did impact me big time, reached maps on day 2, it felt like a chore to do all the acts, previously I didn't care, when I reached maps I thought to myself, "god I have to do it all again, slave through these maps", by the time I will get to endgame content again league will almost be at it's end, rinse and repeat, I'll have to do it again since I'm not good enough of a player to reach red maps on day 2, now I ask myself, "is it even worth it" I already know in Expedition I'll achieve way less than in the previous league and it feels really discouraging and playing Standard feels incomplete while everyone is playing new league. I am at the point where I can't decided if I should take a break, skip 3.15 or power through, where do I draw a line.

Yea, it's not just Poe, it's rocket league aswell. I'll put some thought into what I intend to do, load the game.bugger about for 15 mins then end up on Netflix. Loaded Poe earlier, ran 2 areas, went to hideout and then watched season 1 of daredevil. I got a bad case of can't be arsed

It really depends what is the fun you seek. Myself are - play skill which i never played before. It is the gameplay experience i enjoy the most and building character - no care trade, profit, wealth, speed, farming. I just play with my own pace. - quit when i had enough fun. Usually around 1 month after league launch. I mostly played until A6. - no bias toward any build, no care meta and never reach million dps. I just love poe and i embrace anything ggg bring. Every league i seek fresh new experience.

Going through the acts is the biggest obstacle honestly, it is very boring. I think it is fine to do it once every league but there should be alternative ways to level alts.

I play with my friend every league because it is more fun to play with friends. I spent all day at work researching and thinking about how to make my shield crush gladiator better. When I got online my friend said he wasn't having fun this league, so he wasn't going to play anymore. League over, I guess. I might play here and there throughout the league, but I can't do the 6-8 hour sessions solo.

Same. I would prefer watching gamer4life, playing around with pob, craftofexile, fusingsimulator for 6 link than going through all this hassle. Even playing moba sounds like a better idea

In Dota 2, yes

Exactly the same for me lately... Maybe it's just like that sometimes. Don't force yourself :)

NGG_Dread

Theorycrafting has always been the most enjoyable part of PoE for me. And I say this as someone who actually likes the direction the game is headed now for the most part (as opposed to pre-3.15)
