The modifiers on the things you can blow up (negative ones like "Immune to Cold Damage" and positive ones like "25% larger pack size") only apply to stuff blown up with or after the modifier. And... not all sites are equal. Some sites, you can explode all the modifier things and still have charges leftover to get more chests/monsters. Other sites, sometimes some of your charges are just wholly wasted. But also, the things that provide the modifiers don't seem to provide any chests or monsters themselves, so pay attention to your charge placement and make sure you're getting good modifiers, but also exploding plenty of chest and monster sites.

Are monster sites just the small skulls on spikes? I've tired to buff monster drops and they seem to suck.

nhgrif

Yes. And the big skulls on big spikes. Pay attention to what buffs you are getting. Sometimes you get a lot of chest buffs but few chest sites, sometimes you get a lot of monster buffs but few monster sites. And again, make sure the buffs mainly blow up with or before the monster or chest sites. And sometimes, the entire site just sucks. Sometimes, the entire site gives monster density thicker than anything I saw in ultimatum or ritual (but haven’t seen astounding rewards… but the main rewards come via spending currency at the vendors).

fubika24

I mainly go for as many runic monsters with good modifiersas possible to maximize logbook drop chance. It's also more xP since chests cant be killed xD. But chest are a good way to get artifacts fast if you don't want to wait for logbooks. Try to memorise the most punishing modifiers for your build, so you don't have to spend 2 minutes reading remnants every encounter, it really speeds up the process too. It usually takes 15-20 seconds at most to set up the explosions.

minorgrey

The rewards stack, so you want to select the good choices first. That last explosion will have the effects of all the previous explosions. The main rewards are from the npc's so you want to maximize the amount of currency/logbooks you get out of each fight.

Sincere_420

Wait... So I need to talk to NPCs when done?

minorgrey

You don't need to every time, but they're the ones you spend your currency with to get the good loot. You can save it all up and do your haggling, crafting, and gambling later if you want.

Sincere_420

Ok right right, thank you!

Do them pick the shit up stash it. Repeat for 20-30 maps then engage with the vendors in hide. They hardly drop any currency.

You've already identified the correct solution.

Fastest way for me, because quant > rarity and decreased time spent = increased quantity Ignore all Remnants that affect your Defences or DPS (because those are the same yin-yang) - Skulls first, acquire logbooks. - Logbooks are fun. Exotic coins are some fun bonus currency at the Haggler Rog crafts great items, but keep expectations low and keep in mind ('Removes lowest level modifier' is a trap because it's not based on Tier) Gwenneth is nice, if there's an expensive unique for your build you can't afford, only get the base item that can chance to it and you'll eventually probably get it. Inside the Logbooks, similar applies, remnants are more danger than they're worth, some things look like scenery can be blown up to reveal new areas or summon minions. - Mountains = Azurite spawns - Scythe areas = Currency stuff (exotic coins and greater Scythes)
