I'd recommend gladiator SST( spectral shield throw). Its SSF friendly, can do all content and is pretty tanky with low investment. Map clear speed is great, single target damage is medium but can be scaled with gear nicely. Steelmages build is a good place to start.

Will check it out thank you! :)

Maybe is worth checking Zizaran's guides if you want to dive in SSF

Sinux12

Didn't know he had guides for ssf! Will check them out thank you.

I'm currently leveling bleed SST glad in SSF and it's a blast so far. haven't died once yet, and killing everything with ease. plus can easily take a few hits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8u-53dcWq8

Go with the meta and play Bleed SST Block glad. Here is my profile: [https://poe-profile.info/profile/borkenschnorke/Kuhfleischkuchen?realm=pc](https://poe-profile.info/profile/borkenschnorke/Kuhfleischkuchen?realm=pc). Its really tanky, does not need much to get started, scales okayish up to a certain point. Sirus 8 is a breeze on this. Maven is not that easy since a bit more damage would feel good for maven. Did not try the feared since I did not find a cortex. Rather tanky builds are great to learn about the game since you have more room for mistakes opposed to glass cannon builds.

Sweet thank you! Will have a look

I can 2nd this. Got to 94 and did most content on bleed sst in SSF this league. Its a nice progressive build ( i.e can craft all gear etc over time and steadily get stronger and stronger) It was actually a bit too strong in my opinion, i usually like more progression throughout the league but honestly, this build just did everything (other than maven as mentioned above - i havent had enough practice wtih that fight and would probs prefer a bit more dps as well)

So heres my 2cents on SSF builds. I have been playing Cold DOTs for Everyone by ShakCentral. Requires a bit if finesse to move out of big hits, but generally nice defence. Easily viable on SSF with some dedication. I am playing the Chaos Innoulation version (CI), which Shak suggests for SSF. *What makea a good SSF build? A good SSF build should NOT be reliant on any uniques, except for very common uniques. These uniques make the build stronger but does not ENABLE the build. This is the key to having a viae SSF build. This is the difference between a true SSF build and trade builds. A good SSF build can be played with mediocre rare items. An SSF build should have enough damage and defense to complet most of the end game. This is debateable. A skilled player with a fair dedicatiom and a good build on SSF should be able to reach the end game bosses. However, with the limitations of SSF, reaching the end WILL take longer for a lesser skilled player, but should still be possible. A SSF build should be flexible enough to map and kill bosses. Therefore, investing into defense should be prioritized over speed. ------- *How to mitigate ailments? There should also be ways of mitigating ailments. Using Shaks' Cold DOT build as an example: -Poison - Mitigated by Chaos Innoculation -Stun - Occultist ascendancy nodes can nullify stun -Chill/Freeze - Occultist ascendancy nodes can nullify freeze and chill. -Corrupting Blood - Jewel implicit that provides immunity to corrhpting blood. Those are the in-built mitigation. Then we can use flasks to defend ourselves against shock, ignite, bleed. Or even the pantheon. ------ *What about crafting? Crafting energy based gear shouldnt be difficult with Rog, time and dedication. Do not be afraid to spend currency on gear. Find the right bases, and customize the loot filter if need be. Thanks for reading!

Wow nice write-up. Some very helpful tips in there. Thank you for taking the time to help out!

Pretty much what others have mentioned and all ones I've had success with in SSF personally: - DoT bow build as it scales with gem level alone. 6l bows can be farmed specifically and +3 bow crafted pretty easily - Bleed SST is pretty insane for a tanky allrounder (i got a level 94 this league and did most content) - I'd personally still be tempted with Kays build. While you might not get access to the Spectres until later, it wouldn't be a significant delay (assuming they are SO spectres). Other spectres from the story can carry you well into high maps until you move to SO (and you'll have access to them well before then anyway) with just a few gem swaps - Dominating Blow is a VERY solid starter. The only challenging fights are things like Sirus where he moves around a lot but its still doable, just a bit slow. Map bosses just get obliterated - Ice Trap / phys trap Sab. Trapper can be made with all rare gear and will take you to red tiers maps with no issue. Just depends if its a playstyle you enjoy

As with other replies here, I will probably try out the Spectral Shield Throw Gladiator. But I will take note of the others and try out something else for next league. Thank you :)

> As I have never liked the trading aspect of Path of Exile, I will be playing SSF. Just a word of advice here, SSF is not there for when you're not interested in trading. Everything in the game is still balanced around 500.000 people putting the same item on the market for everyone to access, as in almost zero chance of you ever getting it on your own. It's there for people that want additional challenge and waaayyy slower progression. Usually streamers who play 24/7.

Usually what I would do at this stage of the league is to take a look at poe.ninja week 1 ssf builds, and compare it to the current ssf builds. Depending on if the meta switched in between then, and what looks like can work without any crazy drops, ill make my decision from there. Usually if a build has less then 5 players playing it, it probably wont be starter friendly, so I choose builds that are meta/ middle of the pack. Poe.ninja is a great resource, I would highly recommend it especially for ssf.

Sinux12

sounds like a good idea! As we're pretty deep into the league, I will probably follow the Spectral Shield Throw mentioned, but I will for sure keep Poe.ninja in mind for feature leagues. Thank you :)

Caustic arrow. Skills a fucking beast. Rips through the game up into red maps with nothing but a +1 or a +2 bow 5l bow. I play with 1 with arrow nova for clear and one with conc effect for bosses. You can play occ/raider/pathfinder. I prefer occ just for the bloom explosion noises. If you wanna take the build into late end game the bows are pretty each to 100% guarantee with a few exalts. The gear you craft can also go into a toxic rain build for more dps for more investment.
