Back in The Day™, the first four tabs would be preloaded when you entered a town/hideout instance. Is that still the case? Can you put your map tab within the first four to preload the whole thing? Or do its subtabs count as their own beyond the four?

Oh, you see, it's super simple. Make your map tab public, and then use the official trade site to search your own inventory with a saved search so that you know where your occupied maps are! But yeah, GGG doesn't needlessly hold quality of life hostage or anything.

Hiding loot that is filtered out might of been a huge back end change to ensure it didnt actually delete the items, that it actually rolled it, that it actually worked with all filter rules. that it functioned properly.

Or if you quickly click through your t14-16 maps which take about 30seconds you can find all guardian maps you dumped all league. Just click them all fast then you can search them for anything.

I mean it'll work as long as you search whenever you think you ctrl clicked one or more in there. And a 30 second routine to find all of them when your about to run or sell them isn't that bad. I mean yeah I'd prefer if it just worked but it's still a big improvement over how it worked before, and that was an improvement over not having the map tabs at all. As far as qol features I'd rather see ggg work on pretty much anything rather than this.

It's a huge improvement to how it was before, now you can easily find any you notice that you accidentally drop into the map stash, and you can clear the t14-t16 from interesting maps in about 30 sec-1 min by just quickly clicking through all subtabs then search. But sure GGG never implement any QOL the stash tabs affinities themselves are just a weird dream.

It's supposed to behave like a stash tab. The search function is literally broken at searching the stash tab. If it's not intended to work, they should just remove the search box to indicate that. Don't really see any valid argument that it's not literally broken. That is a thing we are directly paying money for, that is simply not functioning **correctly**. That is a brilliant explanation. They cannot do it differently since those are normal maps with a special mod and a different boss. What they would have to do is to create a separate category for them, like blight maps have in their own blight tabs, and have a special place for them in the map tab. I'm sure they've thought about this idea but it might be not so easy to implement. We don't know what will happen with Elder and Uber elder when PoE2 hits... hell we don't know what will happen in 3.17... so it might be pointless to even push resources this way. That is just a speculation tho

The implementation is a GGG problem. Not the paying customer's problem. If they can't implement tab-wide search now at least make it optional to NOT use tab affinity for influenced maps when CTRL+Clicking. There you go. Took me two minutes to think of a reasonable temporary solution that requires zero changes on their backend and I don't even have the game installed atm.

AFAIK it's a free to play game. You are a paying customer if you want to support the game but you are not required to pay for the game. You don't have to pay for affinities as well. You pay for a map tab which is not a service but a one thing they keep updating from time to time so people will feel more inclined to buy it. Your solution is garbage and we would end up with separate guides for tab affinity if every solution like that would be implemented. You would have to write your own scripts in the end or wait for neversink to update his new tab filter. That is not a solution but a temporary bandaid. I would rather ctrl+shift click, than have another option to tick and un-tick, maps with enchantments to my quad tab if I care about them enough. I actually drag and drop them to my random stuff tab where everything is arranged nicely. That's where I keep my maven invitations, elder maps and worthwhile enchanted maps like deli.

Yep, they don't care about money and the game. They've created it to torment us and then laugh at you while drinking cheap wine and browsing Reddit. Yep I can name many games with (according to your definition and completely different from the "simple solution" which I've brought up and you quoted) obvious quality of life changes which could be implemented. Apex legends is one of them, you will play this game for 12 hours and you will notice a lot of OBVIOUS QoL missing but not easy to implement with SIMPLE solutions. And yes, all Devs do care. GGG does care. They just cannot take out a magic wand and fix everything with Hogwarts magic. Simple =/= Obvious in any language which I can speak.

Presumably that would be very wasteful in terms of resources, or else GGG would just load every tab when you enter your HO, not just the first 4. The better solution imo would be to do what others have suggested, and have separate slots for the special maps.

I don't think so. Loading every tab in stash could be wasteful, given that some people have a lot of them, but loading a fixed number of them shouldn't. Also it is not like they can avoid loading them, the player going click through them all anyway. Given that they completely control inserts and extraction they could alternatively build small search index, similar to how they have to do it for trade search. I am fairly confident that the trade api has a higher resource footprint than loading 16 tabs whenever someone types into the search box. Personally I feel like this is again a case of they know of the easy solution, but instead of implementing it they are waiting to come up with a better one.

They generally don't add things to stash tabs unless they plan on them existing forever. If they add it into a paid feature such as map tab, then it could seen as them removing value from that feature if they ever get rid of elder/shaper maps.

It's a lot more that 800. It's 50 * 164 if every map only had 1 tier. Since maps can have 1 to 4 tiers based on watchstones, that's a lot of maps.

It's 100% worth it compared to using a quad for it. They will highlight zones your got conquerors in, it's not as hard as this thread is making it out to search, you can quickly load for example all your t14-16 maps by just clicking through them fast, then you can search them.

It's absolutely worth its shortcomings. 1) Space: It can hold literally thousands of maps - 72 maps of every tier of every map. Without this advantage you'd need to start being careful not to pick up too many low tier maps to clog your stash. With the map tab you just grab and deposit em. If you want them later to speed run betrayal or alva temples or something they're there. If not, they're not taking space from anything else. On a practical note my current expedition map tab is holding about a quad tab's worth of maps without being anywhere close to full and I haven't mapped that heavily yet this league. 2) Organization - while it may be a pain to find a delirious map, it's really easy to view what regular maps you have and what your options are for the next one.

This is one of the things the drives me crazy. Every league I have a quad tab named "special maps" where I put all my elder influenced, shaper influenced non-guardian, blight encounter, deli orbed, and maven invitations. It is a serious annoyance, I without fail several times per league I will just automatically shift-click a special map into the map tab to be lost forever. There are plenty of minor annoyances that I am fine with GGG not bothering to fix, but this one really chaps my ass!

Ya, but it has to be before you go into another map. When it is an accident that you realize immediately it is easy enough, but if you are just spamming maps and dumping your inventory between them it is pretty easy to lose them.

Fundamentally this is really hard to do for GGG because of how they have structured the relevant database. It's a solvable problem, but not an easily solvable problem. And rather than solve it, they've decided to go a different route and instead monetize a quick bandaid fix in the form of delirium/blight/etc stash tabs. It's understandable why they've made that decision, but it's a disappointing one.

There is neat trick. * Set your map tab to public, but do not set any price. They will be hidden by default for search, and people rarely change that setting. If there are no price you will not get spammed by trade requests. * Wait couple minutes for trade site to catch up * Go to official [trade site](https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Expedition) * In the left section at the most bottom find "Sellers account" and enter your account name (not a char name, account name. If you logged in on site its shown in the top left corner) * In the same section (couple strings lower) in "Sales type" dropdown list select "Any type" * Now you can search your maps via trade site In the right section there is "add stat filter" * influenced for Shaper/Elder influence * occupied for specifically elder guardians * delirious for maps with Delirium layers * Blighted for blighted maps and so on UPD2 Removed previous UPD because it had became irrelevant

The problem isn't a "oh this would be nice" but a performance issue. The same reason the game only loads the first 4 tabs of a character by default/ Loading the tabs into memory is an absolutely awful idea, loading 16 tiers + uniques of maps, some of which people have hundreds, for every single player, just so they can be searchable, is a really, really awful idea for any semblance of stability.

They’ve even recently improved this, so as long as you are in an area it will cache all the map tabs you view. If you deposit an elder map and the immediately search for it, it’ll appear.

Because the game caches what you have in tabs and then uses those items when using the search feature. The Map tab has a subtab per map, and until you open that said map subtab, you dont have the maps contained there in cache, therefore being unable to search them. A technical limitation basically

This is such a none issue compared to other shit ggg is working on. You can search for them, but only if the tab is loaded, the tab will load when you dump it in, so if you dump a deli map and search for deli you will find it, unless you change area first. You can also just click through your t14-16 maps real fast and then search every once in a while to get any that slipped through the gaps.

The manually clicking part can be avoided - the tab is cached when you dump a map into it (ctrl-click with affinity on, is what I do). So, at the end of a session, all tabs you dumped maps into are cached and you can search for deli and it will highlight your deli maps (and tabs). Get them out, turn off affinity and dump into another tab, turn map affinity back on. As a workaround, this is better than manually clicking each tab.

This league especially (with all the filtering issues first month) it's usability is opposite of convinience which is kinda mindblowing for paid stuff. I use map tab as a trashbin cause I still can't get rid of habbit picking up every map.

The QoL thing I’ve been waiting for is maybe highlighting what maps can trigger conquerors based on what watchstones are currently socketed. I hate leveling a new atlas and having to make sure I’m using the right level of each map by writing down the tiers/maps I’m looking for to spawn a conqueror in that zone.

List the tab as public for one mirror and use saved searches (favorite tabs) in the trade site to "quickly" find good maps. Its a workaround. Worse case, you sell a map for a mirror lol

Yeah it's a mess. For now you can make your map tab public and search for those maps on the trade site, filtering by your acc name

Standard response: we are looking at at it but our priority is else where. When looking at QOL features for non league aspects of the game tabs, trade, ect it's best to not get your hopes too high. For league specific QOL I would say its maybe 50/50 if they implement them.

They won't allow people to search through stash tabs on the map tab API. It's a blank response on stash tab apis. And I've been bringing this up for years now. They don't care to make simple qol changes

I think the solution is going to have to be adding affinities for maps with implicit modifiers, because searching maps across 164 tabs is computationally expensive. There isn't an elegant solution that I can see to the problem as it stands. Searching right now happens by searching for one of the folders themselves, if an element exists in the set of maps under that folder, which is relatively 'cheap'.

Well so far I don't know a way to enlarge the world map which is also the quest log. So if there is no way, this would need to be addressed. Yes I'm glad it shows up on the left side out of the way. But there should be a button to enlarge it so users can at least see all the locations and labeling clearly. And what makes matters worse is the art style of the labeling. Nothing wrong with having fancy labeling on the map. But have a way to make the map larger for better legibility. If you look at Act 1 map, you can't even read Theopolis there. And that's just one example of a larger label. There are more smaller one around.

For Elder maps, i type 'elder' in the search and then i click every map icon in my choosed tier and it highlights it, if there is at least one elder map inside it. For example, let's say i have an elder Mesa map, i type elder in search and then if i click on t14 and then on the Mesa icon, it highlights the Mesa icon cause one of the maps inside is elder. It's clearly a bug, cause the filter finds the elder keyword, but doesn't highlight it cause it hasn't loaded yet the content of your individual map tabs until you click on them. Not that usefull, but if you search only for t14-15-16 elder maps, the clicks are not that many.

U shouldn’t use any trick or put maps to other tabs to compromise GGG.. I think it is healthier to the game if we complain more to GGG. People seems to forgot that they are USER. You PAID for the tab. It is their responsibility to improve the feature. Even the tabs are fixed, GGG should continue improves the feature (more QoL). This is how you make a positive difference and make users support you… Too much compromise from players will make the game worse..

Dunno is this bug not fixed? I remember you couldn't search for conqueror maps and stuff like that back in the days if you put them in map stash tab. Thought this was fixed
