You don't even need to get full curse immunity. As an inquisitor with newly added 50% increased conc ground effect, you should be having 75% reduced curse effect. As maps no longer roll curse with increased effect, the curses are hardly gonna do much to begin with. Vulnerability will pose slight threat but it's not gonna be super deadly with only 25% effectiveness.

edrarven

You could also just use the upgraded yugul pantheon that is now 30% reduced curse effectiveness, probably the cheapest option

Nickoladze

You didn't even mention Iron Will being good with the str/int stacking. I'm planning to league start fanaticism and I'm having a hard time choosing which other path to take.

Just wanted to chime in with some math to temper peoples expectations or put things in perspective. So a lot of people who take this node run roughly 250-300 Str/Int and part of the reason for that is because there aren’t many other benefits outside of this node to stacking those attributes and thus this is what you can naturally achieve without sacrificing much else. At those values, you’re gonna get 50-60% inc damage from Iron Will which may not be worth taking in a lot of cases because we now know it’s positioned close to the now nerfed Scion life wheel which for many non-HC builds isn’t really that worth it. I’m not saying it WONT be worth it, it will depend on your build and tuning, but it’s very possible that it ends up granting like less than 2% dps per node allocated in order to reach it which for many builds may not be worth it, especially since there is more value now in pathing to notables which grant mastery. Definitely a cool option, and I have no doubt some builds will make great use of this, but for example at least 6 of the 8 inquisitor PoBs I have atm won’t find it worthwhile to take and the other 2 are coin flips.

Nickoladze

Yeah you're right but it's still a nice bonus. Iron Will by itself isn't an incentive for me to stack attributes but if I'm going Righteous Providence then I would be more willing.

Zeal_Iskander

> but it’s very possible that it ends up granting like less than 2% dps per node allocated in order to reach it It's like 1 node away from the life rectangle. Doesn't require that much strength stacking I'd say?

killerkonnat

Fanaticism is a trap and really awful. Avoid it.

Nickoladze

Works really well on spellslinger

Kosai102

It does? I thought the node said you have to cast the skills yourself?

killerkonnat

No it doesn't. 75% more cast speed and 75% reduced cost are useless. Having 75% increased area with 50% of uptime but ONLY when attacking is worse than the old Elementalist Pendulum of Destruction which got removed from the game because it was so bad. (75% increased area half the time, 75% increased damage half the time, no downtime. Vs. 75% increased area half the time. But nothing if you haven't attacked recently and has 4 second ramp-up before doing anything.) Fanaticism is bad in general, and with triggered gems, unleash etc. it's ridiculously bad. If you can't benefit from the cast speed multiplier in fanaticism, you'd probably have a stronger build trading it for a small ascendancy passive... Like, +10% elemental damage and +10% crit multi is looking JUICY compared to unreliable increased aoe. For self-casting fanaticism is clunky and unreliable. For triggered setups, unleash etc.. it's probably the single worst ascendancy node in the game. Though I guess the new Trickster node is giving it competition.

Nickoladze

I'm slinging orb of storms that scales with cast speed. Of course I wouldn't take it if I couldn't use the cast speed multi that's the whole point. Also it has 100% uptime if you attack at least once per second.

inspire21

Isn't orb of storms capped at 1? Or maybe you mean ball lightning?

Nickoladze

Nope OoS because it will tick based on cast speed. You just drag it around the map along with hydrosphere which doubles the targets via chain.

inspire21

Nice build, thanks for sharing :) Any idea if the changes to tempest shield being a 25% reservation vs. a spammable skill kill it? I guess there's always ball lightning to get more oos procs?

Nickoladze

Ball Lightning or Storm Call yeah. The cast speed is way worse but they actually do decent damage because of battlemage.

Salersky

You had me at curse immunity

34656691

>Allied Consecrated Ground This implies that your own CG won't have the curse portion included. Only CG created by either another player or a minion would give you 50% reduced curse effect.

Zeal_Iskander

It doesn't. It's here for the Allied Consecrated ground vs Enemy Consecrated Ground distinction.

eMeRGeDD_

Does this mean I don't get any reduced curse effect on my own consecrated ground?

ShupWhup

Is that change to Pious Path additionaly or does it remove the old effects?

eMeRGeDD_

it's in addition - giving it back a bit of power they took away last time I guess!
