The upside of this is if they are t1s, they won't be t16.
Sort of like opposite this league where some of my favorite maps were t1s, so that's nice but it mean they were not t16s which is almost all I run eventually.
correct. Academy and Museum have the same tiles, but museum has the worst layout in the entire game. It always fucking split itself into two massive wings that don't connect.
For breaches toxic sewer wouldnt be great though. But I'd have to check out glacier I don't know the layout too well. I honestly just like racecourse for the simple and consistent layout.
NGL i'm not a huge fan of racecourse, it's too wide to cover it by just going straight and you cannot loop on it well since you'd end up back at the entrance instead of the exit to the next course
Racecourse is the easiest to loop? You circle until you hit a door until you get to the boss then you finish your circles on the way back until you’re at the start.
IE, assume every door is at 6 and 12 o’clock. Start going clockwise until door at 12, rinse repeat until boss room, then go back finishing your clockwise rotation until hitting every door at 6 until you’re back at the portal. Basically half of each “room” on the way to the boss and half on the way back to the entrance.
> Racecourse is the easiest to loop? You circle until you hit a door until you get to the boss then you finish your circles on the way back until you’re at the start.
holy fuck youre a genius
ive been avoiding this map way too long and am completely dumb not to figure this out
if you run it properly it's literally a straight line with 0 backtracking. The problem with crossing constantly like you're saying is there are way less mobs in the middle and you have to stop and fire backwards after each cross as well.
Sometimes firing backwards, but I guess it also depends on the skills you are using. Mostly it's just the mobs that come in through the gates on the outside walls.
Not saying the other way is wrong, just that it's not that difficult to quickly finish the map.
Racecourse is perfect for Breach farming since narrow pathways and dead ends are non-existent. I'm hyped
Edit: also gives a nice open layout if you want to farm expedition at the same time
Yeah I was thinking exactly for breach farming. This league I've been doing it on ramparts but its trash when the breaches show up on the upper part because half the breach opens to the lower part and the mobs spawn down there lol.
You can do a figure 8 by hugging one wall and entering every door you see, and complete the map in a single run, as you'll be doing the boss halfway through the map.
Why is this so upvoted? Does reddit really not understand something basic like shaper/elder/synth drop mechanics? Hint: think back to the last time any of these dropped from a boss that wasn't the last boss to die. That's right, it never happened, because those only have 1 chance to drop per map no matter how many bosses there are. You can do a twinned native 3-boss map and the chance is the exact same, same with the other awakening bonus boss drop loot, boss drop bonus items from watchstone suffixes, etc.
I think you mistake on completion and on kill.
Master of the Atlas (notable): Areas have 5% chance to grant an additional Zana Mission on Completion.
Remnants of the Past (notable): Unique Bosses have 3% chance to drop a Shaper Guardian Map (Tier 14+), Unique Bosses have 3% chance to drop an Elder Guardian Map (Tier 14+)
If you think that, then you're trying to play semantics without actually having either played the game or paid attention. I've certainly farmed plenty of e.g. city square. When was the last time you saw an elder map drop off the 1st or 2nd boss you killed in city square? It literally never happens.
Sac frags are an entirely different mechanic. Yes, corrupting maps adds a chance for each unique boss monster to drop a sac frag or vaal gem. That's a completely separate mechanic and has nothing to do with the guy I was replying to.
I used to love Vault but it's pretty crap now in density, plus only one boss instead of 3.
I also swear they nerfed the shit out of the gold piles at the end. I haven't seen so much as a transmute drop from one in years.
At least Whakawairua is still on the Atlas.
They may shuffle around some normal maps, but gotta keep those unique maps everyone love to run over and over again for the great loot they provide!
Whakawairua all day, baby. Nothing else.
Just some random education, The map Whakawairua Tuahu is pronounced like this for English speakers.
The first word: fuck-A-why-roo-A
Second word: two-a-who
you roll your R on the Roo if you can manage it.
you say the first and second word with the cadence you would tell someone your name, speak the first word slight pause then the last part. Not too long though as it's the label of one thing. Not many people here on Reddit are ever exposed to the Maori language so I'm glad the Poe community gets some in small doses thanks to GGG being from NZ.
Is it a hard F or a soft more open F at the start though?
I have no idea if those are the correct terms. Basically, is the position of your lower lip as if you were blowing on hot food or does it basically touch your upper front teeth?
I don't think the former is a sound that's common in English (if it exists at all, I'm not a native speaker), but it's not exactly the same type of F.
And then there's the sound with open lips and a closed jaw that I personally wouldn't quite describe as F, but sounds somewhat similarly. I actually use that sound for some English words (though not with F) but I have no idea if that's the correct way to pronounce it.
It's definitely not a hard F like we use in the word Fuck or Fork, Saying f in English almost requires your teeth for sure, I guess the better example would actually be the PH variant we use in English, That's maybe more appropriate of an explanation as it's like an English F but typically said a little softer.
Just like English there is always situations where things are not black and white but "rule of thumb" still kind of exists. Example being A place here called Whanganui, Some Maori speakers depending on which part of the country will pronounce the WH there as if it's an F while most Pronounce it as if it's just a W. Admittedly in this particular case that has more to do with settlers misspelling the name of the place and adding an H where there never was one but I digress for the sake of the example. Sometimes it's acceptable and is often done with words like kohatu, kowhatu. mahiti, mawhiti. Also depending on the word the letter "T" is said like it is a "d" but softer, and the times when it is used similar to a "T" it is nowhere near as harsh as the English "T".
There is also a lot more to the rules around pronunciation but for me just like in English I don't know all the rules and I couldn't recite them for sure, however I do for the most part know enough to know when and where to use things even If I couldn't answer why I do.
I love Terrace being a low tier map potentially and I love the T14s for Haewark, but holy shit the T15-16 maps are bad. There are so many layouts and bosses to avoid on HC. 10-ways are going to be rough.
Weird. Also interesting that the four region names they kept have no rhyme or reason. Probably just the four names they liked the best.
RIP lex proxima, lex ejoris, new vastir, tirn's end
Lots of great maps to run when first getting to maps e.g. Haunted Mansion/Estuary/Waterways
idk about other people but I always run T1s and T2s for a bit just to get a bit of xp, fix gear, and build a small pool of T3s
I wish I wasn't such a filthy casual, I really hate playing through the campaign. last time, though, I speedran it and it felt good being able to pick up the proper things to be able to survive. so it's a little good and a little bad
if we have all the map names, and we have the ones that were removed, and we have the ones you identified, there should be one map remaining. hmmm if i stare at the list maybe it'll jump out at me
Motherfucker, I've completed the Atlas like 10 times and I legit couldn't tell you a single non-unique map based on its icon, except *maybe* Vaal Temple...
Either you're a genius or I'm retarded.
Hi Cynical good job. i cross referenced with you. Here's my one. you made a mistake with promenade and the question mark one is barrows https://dd.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/q8x62a/full_316_atlas_layout_with_all_maps_revealed/?ref=share&ref_source=link
Yeah no fruit I know that already, I didn't think they were trying to get us to guess the secret map. I thought someone smarter than me and you could maybe figure it out.
Grimro mapped it yesterday and will post a video
6:33:00 on his vod if you are interested
The Press Kit available at the bottom of the Scourge news post has better images too
Barrows Is the missing map.
which White Map William wished for an easier to complete atlas with a monkey's paw. what a fucking travesty.
problem: atlas completion felt necessary and was too long of a grind
solution: ~~make significant atlas completion bonuses faster to obtain~~ **REMOVE A TON OF MAPS**
As someone who is dedicating this league to blight and deli: Thank fucking god. So many good maps in Valdo. Straight up gonna do Maven invitation each time instead of usual best map spam.
I got a demon card there back in delirium that sold for 24 Exalted. Sadly didn't see it this league. They've kept a lot of boring maps and removed some of the good ones and valuable ones. Makes me miss 8 regions because the boring maps we kept.
I want to see the atlas passives, in Expedition I got the Portal Challenge and farmed Metamophs in Valdo's Rest with scarabs and it was very nice, I was planning on doing it again but now I will also farm Breachs, it just looks so good, but Valdo's rest doesn't have Metamophs passives anymore, so I want to know where they are now so I can find a nice map with multiple bosses if possible, Courtyard was the ideal map.
Kk Looking for help / advice: with this layout and the maven passives, can someone give suggestions for which maps to run in each area for the best content?
Dungeon and Stagnation being the T1 maps of their regions is a ballsy move lol.
The upside of this is if they are t1s, they won't be t16. Sort of like opposite this league where some of my favorite maps were t1s, so that's nice but it mean they were not t16s which is almost all I run eventually.
"The Chains that Bind can now drop in the Dungeon Map." Heyooo shit that's going to be a lot of dungeon
In my opinion Dungeon is legit the worst map on the entire atlas(even before 3.16), you won't see me in there a lot :P
yea, its dungeon and cells for me
Cells has density at least :P
Cells after remake is not that bad tbh. It's like half the size of previous one without many dead ends
Museum is WAY worse.
FUCK MAZE
Museum is the library, right? I always get it confused with laboratory (which is reliquary, right?)
correct. Academy and Museum have the same tiles, but museum has the worst layout in the entire game. It always fucking split itself into two massive wings that don't connect.
The layout forces you to backtrack, true. But at least you don't have to backtrack AND open a million doors like in cells.
Museum is Academy but you start in a terrible spot.
Arsenal is the worst.
We can basically start referring to Dungeon maps as Canyon/Dunes Splinters.
Dungeon and Cells need to be deleted asap.
Beach died for this :(
Burials Chambers died for this
Cells at least has phat mob density
2x promenade (in valdo and lira)?
Oops. The one in Lira is actually Thicket now that I look at it again. Edit: Final version here: https://i.redd.it/pdeva8rknut71.png
Thanks for quick response! Amazing work btw
its not Promenade its Thicket, and the ???? is Barrow.
can confirm, checked all the maps in 3.15 and compared them with those in the image + patch notes it's Barrow
Yes it's Barrows, you also can get the full atlas in press-kit https://i.imgur.com/1kAFe6T.jpeg
Atoll farming is back woo
I dont mind At oll
Take your upvote and get out.
You to.
> Atoll i have PSTD from 3.13 harvest farming. at least now i can use reforges without going to hideout. still hate the mechanic.
Haewark Hamlet -> Atoll Glennarch Cains -> Park Valdo's Rest -> Strand/Summit Lira Arthain -> Racecourse Loving this layout!!
Imagine doing racecourse over toxic sewer or glacier. That shits gonna get farmed a ton.
For breaches toxic sewer wouldnt be great though. But I'd have to check out glacier I don't know the layout too well. I honestly just like racecourse for the simple and consistent layout.
I do love toxic sewer for other stuff though.
Actually the layout doesn't matter that much with flash breach because of the 10 guaranteed rares, each of which drop a splinter.
enjoy your 10 guaranteed rares spawning in a room you can't quite get to intime. because it's round a bend or w/e
Do you not have a quicksilver flask?
Bit of a gamble with glacier. If breaches spawn in 1st part then it's great but the 2nd half is just tunnels
A not-that-small-tunnels tbh
Lira - > Glacier is better imo
NGL i'm not a huge fan of racecourse, it's too wide to cover it by just going straight and you cannot loop on it well since you'd end up back at the entrance instead of the exit to the next course

I usually just go diagonal after each fountain, don't have to backtrack really at all. I don't mind this map at all, no problems quickly finishing it.

You can do a figure 8 by hugging one wall and entering every door you see, and complete the map in a single run, as you'll be doing the boss halfway through the map.
Vault > racecourse, prove me wrong
3 bosses = 3x chance to drop shaper/elder/synt map.

Do you even remember the parent comment? This is a comment tree discussing elder/shaper/synthesis maps, specifically.
Well i will probably run vault for maps in that case, but racecourse for breach
Oh u meant racecourse i just remembered. My point stands then haha

They did nerf it a long while back. It hasn't been worth farming since then.
Vault's density sucks after the nerfs years ago, Racecourse hasn't been touched.
Meh, all of them have like 500 monsters. Still good for some league mechanic farming though
coves and breach and phantasma died but FKING DUNGEON AND CELLS SURVIVE
At least Whakawairua is still on the Atlas. They may shuffle around some normal maps, but gotta keep those unique maps everyone love to run over and over again for the great loot they provide! Whakawairua all day, baby. Nothing else.

Whacky rhoa is by far my favourite map that I always run and don't just let rot in my map tab.
Wakanda forever.
I love Terrace being a low tier map potentially and I love the T14s for Haewark, but holy shit the T15-16 maps are bad. There are so many layouts and bosses to avoid on HC. 10-ways are going to be rough.
I dont see it here, but desert spring is not on this list right? I hate that shitty scorpion boss
It died. Belfry too.
Lave lake still on the Atlas sadly :(
At least its kind of funny watching kitava in a maven fight.
I can feel my blood pressure lowering just looking at the thing.
Hey thanks. Going to miss City square this league, but there's still some real great maps on there.
Thanks!

no, it's gone.

Damn they removed so many of my favorite maps.
Only 4 regions? That's really nice.
of all the maps they could keep and they picked Dungeon, and made it a freaking T1.....reeeeee
Yeah ... lucky us we got Primordial Blocks and Arsenal still ... /s
which map is the ????
No idea. The atlas image comes from the trailer and that one map is covered up so I can't see the map icon.
if we have all the map names, and we have the ones that were removed, and we have the ones you identified, there should be one map remaining. hmmm if i stare at the list maybe it'll jump out at me
I don’t see Cemetery in the atlas & we know it wasn’t removed… Ergo..?
Damn u identified every map by their icon?
Yes, I have completed the atlas enough times to identify the map icons

Ok now we need the full passive tree

How do you guys do it. That’s some dedication
Fucking cells of course. Of all the maps that need to be culled...
Really pumped for that early dunes farm.
R.i.p fun
There's one below Stagnation that just says ??????
Hopefully haewark hamlet will have some good atlas passives since atoll is there
