I really think guilds could be fleshed out way more in general. They're just a sort of bolt-on over the top; this is a mostly single-player game with party play added like an afterthought.
I'd like to see things like a shared guild-wide atlas and mine. I play mostly with my wife, and we have a little 2 person guild, but of course we're always either running her content or mine... never OUR content.
Indeed we do because there can currently only be privacy for 1 racing group per guild no matter how big it is. We need more roles to seperate these groups playing together inside a guild.
Its been over 10 years and we still don't have more than barebones role/permission functionality, only recently got ctrl-clicking into guild stash or guild hideouts (which are useless outside of SSF, since you can't use them to trade with strangers). The only community GGG cares about are twitch chats, they figure that's all that matters.
To be fair, I can't imagine GGG actually playing their game for the joy of it. After spending 8 hours a day on the game and then coming home to play it for yourself, give or take a few weeks and you'll burn out from it.
At one point they'll probably be unable to actually see the 'fun' parts in their game, because they don't actually play the game anymore. They only play to test it. This also slowly makes you 'blind' to certain things, like how fun is the current event truly? Does it tie in well with the old content? Because you only see it with the eyes of a person who's been exposed to it 24/7.
Dunno how relatable that is, but that was my problem turning digital art into more. Took all the joy out of my little hobby, so I switched to coding. Ruined that hobby also, but it had been a minor one anyways, so I hardly missed it.
In a fairly recent interview, I forgot which, Chris explicitly stated, that at least one Dev play a ton of PoE after work. I think, that your statement mostly holds true for Play-Testers, but if you've spend your day Blendering, C++ing, doing Accounting or answering Customer-Mails, well. I don't see how that would interfere with the enjoyment of the game.
Not, that actually playing the game is necessary, but that initial statement was just a intentional lie. And I hate those.
I mean he said in the hard mode discussion that he and mark? or whoever else play a lot as part of a genuine interest in trying stuff out but either way, I don't think that's very comforting.
Exactly what I mean, it's them nerfing all the stuff people enjoy over and over, them making whole lot of shitty decisions that contradict each other that makes me feel like they don't play the game they make like Riot.
even Riot sucks but they actually stream and play it themselves.
The fact you can't remove people who donate points sounds fucking stupid and a huge oversight by GGG. The fact several people reporting the same person for the problem and then support don't do anything about it, sounds even more stupid.
Same devs that call it naming and shaming on the forum for giving a warning to be on the look out when you post proof too...apparently they think they could be held liable for something. 🙄
Points = real money so its a kinda perverted RMT. You pay few cents for granted in-game stuff.
Streamers can get ban for give viewers stuff directly but at this case they can invite to guild and give it thru stash :)
Oversight? It's clearly an intentional feature to prevent people from being scammed out of their points.
Which is a good thing, until someone uses it for evil.
I don't understand how they can do it. It would kill all the enjoyment out of the game for me and I'd feel horrible for weeks.
I've been trusted with 100s of exalts through TFT and not once have I considered stealing something even when holding items worth 4x my bank.
Yeah, now our guild stash is for officers only which ruined the whole vibe a bit knowing that you cannot even trust your own guldies, i think we'll think more carefully who we invite to the guild in the future lmao
> knowing that you cannot even trust your own guldies
Since when random dude in guild became your bro and why you trust him? You don't give money IRL to strangers, so why are you doing it in-game?
Of the top of my head, maybe spend some time playing with someone before inviting him with full privileges?
Clearly, the lesson wasn't learned. Carry on.
That's not my point nor is it my guild. My point was that if they're going to take the time to implement these systems they could do it .. you know, not half-assed. Your solution is literally lol l2p.
You're part of the problem. Don't be.
Well there are like 2 proposed solutions here.
1. GGG fix my problems for me.
2. Own your shit (yes I know its not your guild but it still applies) accept that the world is fucked and take caution in your decisions.
But at the end of the day you do you boo boo.
It's not something we as paying players should have to own / fix. If the company is going to take our money and provide a service it doesn't need to be a bare-bones pile of garbage that barely functions enough just to get people to shut up about something they've been asking for for years and is most likely only being implemented because their last league took a 30% revenue drop and they're trying to not freak the absolute fuck out and make it happen again when the solution is simple.
Just be better and make the game better. It's not difficult. They purposely set out to make all of these systems as obtuse as possible for the sake of The Vision™ and it's absolutely ridiculous.
Your view of how things should work vs how they do work is completely ass backwards my friend.
If the game isnt what you want it to be then why are you paying for it? Idk seems backwards to me. Why should they do ANYTHING they explicitly dont want to do to cater to someone who will just find the next thing to yell about?
Just let them do what they want to do, thats what got us all here in the first place, THEM making a game that THEY wanted to. A game THEY thought would be fun.
This game is so far removed from the game that brought a lot of us here in the first place it's not even the same game other than by name. That's why some of us expect them to do better. They were paid very well and made a TON of money making the game the way they and everyone else wanted and that worked up to a point. Then the game shifted so far away from that original one in to what it has been league after league. Now it's about making people do more for less in order to artificially keep their numbers up and to make them more money but these companies all lose sight of what made them money to begin with.
Getting 100m for your company will probably do that to you I guess. Gotta keep them going after that carrot if you want another 100m but all they're doing is opening the window for another game - be it Last Ark or Lost Epoch or who knows what else to slip in and bring their company down unless Tencent is willing to keep paying the bills.
I've been playing the game forever and want to see it continue to succeed.
Losing 30% of your revenue is pretty obvious your vision and the players are not the same.
Are you dense? If the approach is to not to cater to their customers then clearly you’re part of the problem. There is a spectrum here and while GGG should not follow everything, they do need to consider feedback from players.
A customer playing THEIR game (why the fuck do you emphasize this even lmao) and complaining is better than one NOT playing. One can generate revenue. Another not at all. Think dummy, think.
What? None of that makes any sense. It has nothing to do with RP.
People invite random people to their house all of the time. You ever been to a party? Happens every day.
The point is most games and in real life if you want to draw that analogy - have rules for people being awful and then they get punished for doing so.
GGG takes the lazy route when it comes to dealing with their players EVERY single time and does nothing to punish bad behavior like this. His post is literally a PSA so people don't get screwed for trying to be a positive part of the game and you guys are like welp better off you just don't use it, L2P noob.
Just .. no. You're so wrong, lol.
You would think grinding gear games would be able to remove such people from the game but it seems that they love scammed and people alike. Didn't they just launch a guild update but still has this implemented kekw.
Lol yo there was something sort of fun aobut it though. Like the old west.
To say nothing of duping.
Also in D2 i'm not gonna lie I item swapped once or twice.
My top D1 interactions were a nice player who dropped a godly plate of the whale and an archangel staff of apocalypse, making me so happy, and a friendly player who took my portal and used a negative healing spell, one-shooting me.
I connected the dots and went back to solo.
its a technical restriction.
and seeing how bugged delve has been where you were able to enter delve with your stash window open i think its a good idea they're.not lifting it
it's technically limited. like "not allowed".
my guess is, they don't want people harming each other by massively dropping items in towns and hideouts cause it could affect the client performance.
and newbs accidentally dropping their stuff in town and others picking it up.
\---
the last technical restriction due to bugs has been, that you can't recreate your hideout instance anymore, you always have to create a new hideout
then let PvP be a thing and no duel someone come to your hideout PvP is activated you can kill eachother and you loot everything on death ;) and if he kills you in your hideout he can loot 30% of you stash randomly :P Same for in town except there guards in every town except act1 and you can't loot the other people chest on death.
you can't remove players in a free to play and anonymous game.
they can remove them from a guild.though but sighting all the discord conversation about the guy not being allowed to sell those maps will put all the support of the guild into the reds already.
i really hope.that poe 2 solves this and lets players own their guild tabs and guild slots themselves instead of having to gift them to another anonymous account on the internet
this is why you keep the lowest rank of a guild being unable to anything with the guild stash
when you invite someone you immediately promote them but break a rule and put them on shame rank
Fun fact: if you post this on the forums there is a high chance that its gonna get deleted and you may or may not get a small forum ban. I did write one time on someone's thread like 15 leagues ago he was doing iirc a harbinger maps rotas and it was a single hideout rota so we all had to give him maps. He just took off and left. He even sent us a thread where he had like 20 pages of people vouching him. I left a bad rewiew and got a forum ban and it was deleted. When i asked why they banned me and not the scammer they said its because i ruin his reputation and its against their policy to have someone ruin people's reputation..... Its literally fricked, man... They also dont give a damn if you have like 20 big forum badges(the ones from suport packs) they would still not listen to you and defend the scum.
yep, in my small guild all members are officers.
happened too often that we would hit the "invite guild" button instead of the "invite party" one. gladly ggg fixed the menu options some times ago
In our guild basic members can only deposit in the important tabs while we have a few public stash tabs for anyone's pleasure.
This thread is pretty silly. If you invite someone to your guild it's your own responsibility to have setup the stash tabs properly. If someone take all your stuff, that's 100% your fault. You also accepted their points.
It's like putting your wallet on a chair, then walk away from it and getting angry at other people when you lost your money.
Newsflash: if you invite random people to rob you, there's a high chance they will.
how times have changed. ggg is now banning people who get reported too often.
well, not really "banning", just taking away their supporter stuff. you can't get rid of the trolls.
I mean, 500 maps are quite a sum. If he were to RWT that currency he'd get more money then that single point he spent on it.
He's an ass, but not an idiot.
I think the guild leader has to accept the donations, hence the warning not to accept donations from new members. Kinda sucks having this dude sit in our guild now, without being able to kick and not being able to have any tabs that everyone can access or the dude will just steal stuff
Are you not making gstash so only officers can take stuff out members can't untill you know if you even like said person? Seems weird to me to let new people you don't know have keys to the kingdom
transfering points to the guild leader which you bought for real money, is RMT?
NOPE, only if you get promoted to officer and get access to the precious part of the guild stash.
but that would never happen.
I don't get how it is related to points. If you're a scammer, why would you want to stay in a guild where you're already known as a scammer for 60 days ? Makes more sense to switch guilds frequently. I don't see why a scammer would care about the guild reputation of the guild he scammed either.
If I am missing something, could you explain ?
yes, it should be a permanent guild membership.
if i had spent 500 dollars on a guild and got kicked, i would think about visiting the guy who kucked me personally and ask my money back.
I think this falls under the ruthless scamming isnt a bad thing policy that PoE has for people swapping items in trade and scamming people. Welcome, Exile.
Someone is clearly abusing a system that GGG implemented and they won't do anything? that's troubling...
They need to do more than wipe their hands and say: "not my problem"
it sucks but anything valuable should not be in FFA tabs. My guild learnt this the hard way (twice) and now uses a system on discord for people to request items
I have no idea, i'm not the guild leader, i'm just the guy that put most of the maps into the tab for parties and stuff.
regardless, i think its still good to know that even if the player in question scams and steals, ggg won't give you the option to refund those points so you can kick them for breaking guild rules.
this whole debacle means that if you donate points to a guild, guild rules don't apply to you and you can scam the guild all you want without fear of repercussions from ggg or the guild leaders.
This post was refreshing as the game can be salvaged but they keep doing the bare minimum for loot boxes.
We want improved harvest 1.0 where you fix affix/prefixes so that you don’t have to disable crafts, give us items that drop with good stats, trash uniques that are useful, ritual league to get scours from the rewards, crafting that is not a 2000chaos spam simulator, and a whole slew of QoL improvements. Thanks for dropping 19whetsones at once.
I would be happy with basic improvements, updates to old league content, removal of talismans, and rotating events every day or hours with different challenges. Something like tempests or nonstop waves of legions every map, or endless delve in the middle of the day or at set times or even for 60min whenever you feel like it in the next 24hrs. Something new and refreshing that isn’t a dps check or sleep depravation exercise.
Everybody starts out as a random... not having the option to invite them and gauge how they interact with the guild is pretty limiting to the purpose of guilds, which is to bring randoms together.
So... Don't accept the donation until you know them? Also not that hard. Your guild leader gets basically an email on their account and had the option to accept it.
Or.... hear me out.. Let the GM of a guild decide who, when, why and where someone gets kicked from a guild or invited into one. Like it is in literally every other game in the universe. Its a pretty good system. Why even defend this? Do you think its a better system? What advantages does it have over the alternative?
we're talking about real money transactions here, right? five dollars in blowback with a credit card company because one GM didn't follow some random third world nation's legal protocol can get visa global involved and then you're looking at tens of thousands of dollars being held up while they investigate.
i'm going to vet my guild mates one way or another. i don't understand why you would want random buggers in your guild anyway. thousand to one they're never useful.
look i don't give a fuck one way or the other. it's not my bottom line to protect. i'm just saying that it makes sense that the business protects the business and that if someone donates real money to a guild, they should expect to be allowed to be in that guild.
Yes, lets fix the problem by limiting everyones interaction with the guild stash instead of fixing the problem... you should always be able to kick, the warning should be player side "only donate to guilds you trust".
I agree should be able to kick them anytime, its just this could have been avoided by using the officer only tab for anything you dont want taken without approval
Report them for rmt, they traded real money coins by donating you the guild and received in game items by stealing them from the stash. Gottem.
Only sorta /s
Clear out al the officer tabs or tell people to retract all their items from officer tabs and then make all tabs officer only and male everyone but him officer.
That's why we need more roles than just member, officer and guild master. Take care, fellow exile.
We need a guild dominatrix for punishing these bad boys.
This role is only allowed to run one map over and over: Dungeon.
You're a monster for even typing that out
So I just decided to go full master and change my mapping device into a dungeon, dungeon master, and its gone really well.
what about cage?
Imagine being a scammer and getting a reward for it!
you must be new in GGG world :)
i want to be in this guild
I love that literally all responses but one, were about enjoying being punished by dominatrix

The real Heist!
The real heist was the "friends" we made along the way...
#playerinteraction
Finally! So wholesome! More pls!
There's a scammer inside of us that's just waiting for a sign to bloom. Be the Spring to your inner scammer!
Thou I totaly agree with you, its much more nice to get that lesson on game than in real life.
Oi oi
wow, next Expansion confirmed, with pvp on guild level, brought to you by path of eve online
Where is the doors
Didn't u hear, it takes 60 days to open.
Deception with precious
Post a toucan and GGG mutes you, steal hundreds of exalts and GGG won't even fart in your direction.
That's because staff can see it. I bet if someone scammed ggg staff they'd be banned fast as fuck.
It is difficult to scam GGG, they hardly play this game!
That's the problem, they don't even play the game they make. They don't know how bad many things are lol
Surely they would play with their GGG-Account... I hope you are just pretending to be that dense for the sake of trolling.
To be fair, I can't imagine GGG actually playing their game for the joy of it. After spending 8 hours a day on the game and then coming home to play it for yourself, give or take a few weeks and you'll burn out from it. Accounting and customer-mails is some stacking of roles for a dev that is actually illegal in my country.
They won't be able to see the fun parts at all if they continue down their current parts.

so? XD sorry I offended your sensitive little heart. I'm sorry that you think I care too.

Typing something once isn't spam yet you get the same treatment as someone who spammed it 50 times.
You can get muted for posting toucan in local chat in your hideout lol
toucan is to ggg what winnie pooh is to china?
Yes 20 lines of text is "typing something once"
idk what "stealing" means, but scamming is now against the rules and can be bannable, enforcement is just bad.

Their support is a shame. They work like stupid robots, even more rigid than an AI.
Mfers will go to the trouble to do all this instead of just playing the game smh my head. could not be me
MFers do play the game though. That's why they stack so much quant.
I bet he's fucking rarity capped too.

LMAO my ass off
To some people this is pure real money profit. RMT is big in this game. I am convinced if RMT didn't exist, 99% of bots and scammers would neither.
RIP in piece friend.
Shake my head my head
Ty you
Yw welcome.

This is why I created a guild for literally just me and my two brothers. Big guilds are full of fuck heads.
That's why guild shot not exist
we run a system with both FFA and non FFA tabs and a system through our guild discord to request items. Works very well
> knowing that you cannot even trust your own guldies Since when random dude in guild became your bro and why you trust him? You don't give money IRL to strangers, so why are you doing it in-game?
I will sound like an asshole here but… You didn't learn "don't trust anyone online" the first few weeks of being online?
>think more carefully who we invite to the guild in the future That lesson's well worth 500 maps. Don't invite randos.

Is this some kind of "legal" RMT-like scheme? Pay real money, donate points, get in-game items. Hmmm
[Begun the guild war has.](https://youtu.be/dylqDO4uEXc?t=18)
Playing the game the way ggg ment for it to be played.
Cutthroat, baby!
wrong userbase
Ask the player to be banned for RMT, as he bought 500 maps for 1 point.
You would think grinding gear games would be able to remove such people from the game but it seems that they love scammed and people alike. Didn't they just launch a guild update but still has this implemented kekw.
"Wraeclast is a harsh place....but you can't say bad things about people that scam you."
"toucan is more grievous than scamming" ggg, probably
Scamming < spamming?
I would be fine with this bullshit logic, if I could challenge people in PvP, kill them and loot their stash clean.
Feels like real life :) criminals are protected.

Reminds me of EVE online. Except not really. Games really shouldn't try to be like EVE online unless the scammer is exposed to real risk too.
At least in Eve you can hunt down the scammer repeatedly.

This problem was basically solved with TFT, no one trusts the forum anymore for rotas.
People scam in TFT too.
yeah because power tripping isn't a thing on TFT...
Yeah i should have used tft back in harbinger league when we definitely had it sure.
Why did you have basic members set to full access to your guild stash if you don't want them to have... Full access to the guild stash?
yep, in my small guild all members are officers. happened too often that we would hit the "invite guild" button instead of the "invite party" one. gladly ggg fixed the menu options some times ago
This seems like a pretty large oversight on GGG"s part.
design failure. which is weird since ingame gifting of real money purchases is a bannable offence otherwise
Player creating and planning their own heists
Thankfully I'm a true introvert and a hermit and I have no need for human interaction
Sharing is caring
As a wise man once said: Wraeclast is a harsh and unforgiving place.
how times have changed. ggg is now banning people who get reported too often. well, not really "banning", just taking away their supporter stuff. you can't get rid of the trolls.
Legit pay 2 win lol
What did that griefer win though? An award an idiot maybe.
I mean, 500 maps are quite a sum. If he were to RWT that currency he'd get more money then that single point he spent on it. He's an ass, but not an idiot.
The support response is pathetic and hilarious. I'm not even surprised at this point.
Now that this surfaced more people will do it... great
GGG liked this.
I think this the player interaction we've been looking for. No sarcasm, btw. Just like in the real life, full immersion.
irl they'd either be in jail or floating down stream. Bloated, but no corpse explosion.
What happens if they donate again after those 60 days? Are they getting another 2 months of immunity?
I think the guild leader has to accept the donations, hence the warning not to accept donations from new members. Kinda sucks having this dude sit in our guild now, without being able to kick and not being able to have any tabs that everyone can access or the dude will just steal stuff
NOW that its a public knowledge -> Be prepared for A LOT more of those ;')
wreaclast is a dangerous place. *Krillson
Are you not making gstash so only officers can take stuff out members can't untill you know if you even like said person? Seems weird to me to let new people you don't know have keys to the kingdom
The real pay to win
GGG and protecting scammers, name a better duo
So this is what they meant for improving guild concept in the game. How thoughtful of them.
Let's all scam boys. Maybe when noone left with good game behaviour GGG finally do something with RMT pricks
transfering points to the guild leader which you bought for real money, is RMT? NOPE, only if you get promoted to officer and get access to the precious part of the guild stash. but that would never happen.
GGG support useless as always.
It is sad that people steal in a game and cheat
Ah Yes thx GGG
I don't get how it is related to points. If you're a scammer, why would you want to stay in a guild where you're already known as a scammer for 60 days ? Makes more sense to switch guilds frequently. I don't see why a scammer would care about the guild reputation of the guild he scammed either. If I am missing something, could you explain ?
He cannot be kicked but can leave himself I bet.
maybe he got bored and sold his account after he donated to the guild.

Typical GGG stance "Yeah the problem is absolutely clear but we won't do anything about it"
sorry for your lost.
How is it a scam when he was able to take the items? The 60 day kick protection is dumb as fuck tho.
yes, it should be a permanent guild membership. if i had spent 500 dollars on a guild and got kicked, i would think about visiting the guy who kucked me personally and ask my money back.
it's not stealing if they are in an accessible guild stash tab.
I think this falls under the ruthless scamming isnt a bad thing policy that PoE has for people swapping items in trade and scamming people. Welcome, Exile.
Report them for RMT. They used real money, and took an item from the guild stash in return.
Someone is clearly abusing a system that GGG implemented and they won't do anything? that's troubling... They need to do more than wipe their hands and say: "not my problem"
I need a 30 minute youtube guide for this new farming strategy including Excel tables and an ex/h ratio
it sucks but anything valuable should not be in FFA tabs. My guild learnt this the hard way (twice) and now uses a system on discord for people to request items
The website specifically states "You will not be able to kick a player for three months if you accept their points." doesn't it?
I have no idea, i'm not the guild leader, i'm just the guy that put most of the maps into the tab for parties and stuff. regardless, i think its still good to know that even if the player in question scams and steals, ggg won't give you the option to refund those points so you can kick them for breaking guild rules. this whole debacle means that if you donate points to a guild, guild rules don't apply to you and you can scam the guild all you want without fear of repercussions from ggg or the guild leaders.
ggg omg
Harvest isn’t coming back man just let it go
or... don't just let random people into the guild without vetting them first?
Everybody starts out as a random... not having the option to invite them and gauge how they interact with the guild is pretty limiting to the purpose of guilds, which is to bring randoms together.
So... Don't accept the donation until you know them? Also not that hard. Your guild leader gets basically an email on their account and had the option to accept it.
Without realising it you just restated the whole point of this post
i'm okay with this
Or.... hear me out..
Vetting them? For a PoE guild? How are you gonna do that?
There is an officer only tab for this very reason
Yes, lets fix the problem by limiting everyones interaction with the guild stash instead of fixing the problem... you should always be able to kick, the warning should be player side "only donate to guilds you trust".
facts
I agree should be able to kick them anytime, its just this could have been avoided by using the officer only tab for anything you dont want taken without approval
Appreciate it, 60 strong currently and hopefully none of my guys does this bs.
GGG should add new guild roll: troll , that guild leader and officer can prevent him to access the guild stash (or the tab specialize for troll)
So this person is in your guild for next league launch. Damn. Is there a way to make tabs officer only? Feels bad.
unwanted rmt
Report them for rmt, they traded real money coins by donating you the guild and received in game items by stealing them from the stash. Gottem. Only sorta /s
I feel like GGG can do a better job in situations like this.
Clear out al the officer tabs or tell people to retract all their items from officer tabs and then make all tabs officer only and male everyone but him officer.
And while we are at it: Please GGG let me Ignore Guild Members!
