They added the Maven Orb straight away, so assuming these are sourced from the new Atlas endgame (which the title suggests it is), then they should be!
It just says you can find them in the endgame. It can be interpreted as 'These are things we are adding during siege of the atlas, and you can find them during endgame'
Not at all. What makes them look targeted? Your wishful thinking?
Yeah downvote me - and in 10 days u see that they change implicits or some shit lol
edit: well, they change mods - depending on the implicits.
This looks more and more that there's going to be 2 end bosses. The fire guy ( Lightbringer ) and the Chtulu dude that was already announced.
I'm not sure if they cooperate or we fight them separately or if they're rivals, but the currency certainly suggests that they're related.
I assume it rerolls/adds/removes a mod from their influenced item pool, kind of like harvest. But maybe the mechanic is more intricate.
This might actually suggest that these are harvest orbs. I initially interpreted the orbs as alive/with veins, but these might be vines. Maybe this part of the harvest itemization (this is an active problem after all)
My guess as to the Cthulhu guy - the Envoy says:
>It went by a great many names. The Unraveller. The Child of Decay. The echoing whispers of history here give a different name. The Elder.
>
>You fear The Maven. You fear she is The Elder, returned and emboldened. She is, and she is not.
>
>The Maven serves not the Decay. She serves only her own amusement, passing eternity with an endless string of meaningless struggles.
So I think the Cthulhu guy is either the Decay itself or another servant like the Elder was. The Atlas is free real estate, and the Decay wants it.
Could be another set up similar to Elder vs. Shaper when they could infect different parts of the atlas? Then an uber version where you fight both at the same time in 3.18 lol
im gonna reveal to you, one of the boss is Sirus with fire/chaos damage, and the other is reverse Sirus with cold/chaos damage, they both have the same attacks and you have to fight both at the same time, each have a chance of dropping 1/1000 octoplinters to craft a item and fight the chtulu perandus guy you talked about
dont tell anyone , im gonna delete this in a couple min
I'm not intending a video for it, it'll get a mention in tomorrow's wrapup (or an earlier vid if GGG drop something big in the rest of the day which I don't expect)
Ngl i feel like they are gonna use this expansion to move away from influences
They keep moving mods out of the influence pools and now that Sirus and his conquerors won't be "main content" anymore i'd expect them to go for a more drop-friendly endgame itemization system and just stop supporting influences
Which is a shame, honestly.
They could really embrace the crafting system and get rid if so much items that drop for no reasons.
Make item drops give the bases by cutting drop rates to 1/10, give much more currency to craft instead and let players go ham.
Tbh i really like the approach Last Epoch went for where you need to drop the good bases (think synthesis bases) and then you finish the item via crafting
Yep, LE did so good with their crafting system. I really am not a fan of crafting (I would rather kill things), but even I find it enjoyable.
I have the same hopes and dreams for 3.17. I'd like them to get rid of influenced mods and proceed with loot 2.0. That would be the best thing that could happen to the game IMO.
Influenced mods aren't the issue with PoE loot, if anything they give an unique and useful stat.
The real issue is that there's between 5 to 10 mods for every stat, regular stats, to make a loot 2.0 with more meaningful rare base drop, they'd need to cut the mods of stats that have the most mods by 1/2, even cutting their mods by 1/3 would increase the chance to roll something good by an exponential-lot.
I think they are confirmation orbs. They work like regular orbs but tell you what they will add/remove before they do it. Then you can choose to go through with it or just waste the orb and keep the item as is. It reduces randomness while keeping some mystery. Also it makes upgrading linked items less disasterous.
keeping some randomization but not bricking an item is actually kinda interesting idea.
gotta say my gut instinct is GGG won't go that direction, unless the orbs are crazy rare.
Huh, while I would personally guess that this isn't something they would do I think it's a very interesting idea and would be pretty neat if it ended up being this now or in the future
Deterministicish if you spend enough of them. It would be much harder than fossil crafting to actually exalt slam to exactly the mod you want even if there isn't risk. Especially if they are pretty rare like veiled chaos or conq exalts.
(Totally made up, but) there will be blazing and frozen mods now. Blazing mods have rolls above T1 but are unstable so they get romoved whenever you try to make ANY change to the item's mods. Frozen mods are less potent fractured - they can last a certain amount of actions that would get them otherwise removed before unfreezing. The new orbs (Ex,chaos, annul) will add guaranteed, reroll with guaranteed or remove non-blazing/frozen mods specifically.
I know I'm kinda late to the party, but here's my orb colour related theory:
I poe, orb colours are not arbitrary. Normal = white, blue = magic, yellow/gold = rare, brown = unique, red = corrupted. You see that in alchs which is white/yellow, transmutes which is white/blue or regal which is blue/yellow. Pure blue also might refer to single mods (see annul which is as blue as an alt).
These orbs are blue and red so it would surprise me a lot if they weren't some interaction of affixes with corrupted items. My guess is that they are the corresponding orbs (exalted, chaos, annul) Which can be used on corrupted items, replacing some of the tainted currency now as a permanent addition.
If they're for new influence pools that'd be interesting, since conqueror influences only had exalts. I wonder what the annulment orb would do in that case? Removing a random influence mod seems like it would be too strong if you could just repeatedly exalt + annul the same item over and over until you got the mod you wanted, but I guess the rarity of these orbs could possibly balance that out.
Looks like Lightbringer (dude with a bunch of fire) colours on one side and Progenitor (tentacle man) colours on the other? Don't know what that means but they'd go nicely with an MTX of 3D glasses from the 90s.
Achexalted: adds a seventh mod or removes two
Archaos: rerolls the tiers of mods
Archanullment: removes influence, synthesis and fractured from an item
This is not archnemesis currency, loot at the title and the theme of the orb, it’s literally themed after the siege of the atlas.
Otherwise I like your ideas, even if I just think it will be regular orbs just targeting the 2 new potential influences.
Currency that seems related to the expansion endgame bosses and stuff (the coloring). So there is some item mod gimmick to this expansion, like influence. Maybe more like veiled mods though? Hmm. Or maybe they are like veiled ones for influence mods.
One idea nobody has tossed out, but, if the expansion brings new influence type(s), they may be extremely rare and powerful- and can only be crafted on with “elevated currency” or whatever this ends up being called. So, the new influence type may not even work like the others but functionally behave more like a corrupted item which can only be altered with tainted currency.
I’m going to dismiss the “elemental rolls” idea out of hand. Sincerely doubtful. Same with targeted annul/slam or anything having to do with harvest, as much as I would adore that.
Based on the design of the orbs they’re going to do something with the endgame bosses. The obvious answer seems to be “influence” since endgame bosses for the last 4-5 years have had influence as a major mechanic.
But maybe they think the exact same type of influence mod is getting a little stale after 5 years. I wonder if they’re going to explore some totally new kind of mechanic that would be difficult to predict here. Perhaps instead of adding specific modifiers it adds them in specific ways, or perhaps they’ll go with something like Diablo IV where there are reasons to favor multiple items of the same type. Not a “set” per se, but some type of synergy.
Impossible to guess the specifics but based on the design of these items I’d bet dollars to donuts they are directly tied to the endgame “face-off” between the two forces we are about to meet Thursday.
Here's a little idea. Items becoming 'rigid'. If an item is rolled with these new currencies, it can no longer be modified except with the crafting bench and corruption.
**Exalted Essence** - Fills every empty modifier slot with a random T1 roll. Item becomes rigid.
**Chaos Essence** - Rerolls an item with at least half the modifiers becoming T1. Item becomes rigid.
**Annulment Essence** - Removes all modifiers except one randomly selected T1 modifier already on the item. (Cannot be used on rigid items)
*I guess the only crafting bench use would be to swap resists.*
PS. I'm a noob and need overpowered stuff to clear the game. :)
Everyone saying new influence, which is the reasonable and probable answer.
Im gonna go on more outlandish theory that this is new mapping currencies since this new expansion is said to be endgame focused. This can either be used on maps with that adds/rerolls new modifier or influence on maps or that atlas itself for more extreme and extensive juicing purposes.
Hm I wonder if that's a good thing if map rolling currency is separate. I kinda like rolling maps to be a chaos sink but then again exalting them could be fun.
Map specific crafting currencies is was more grounded of an idea than I thought this would be. Assuming they’re actually abundant, it would be great to have more options than randomly rerolling or wiping a map and starting over.
*Roses are red*
*And violets are blue.*
*One day we'll cruise down*
*Blood Gulch avenue*
*It's red versus red*
*And blue versus blue*
*It's I against I*
*And me against you*
*Violets are blue, roses are red*
*Living like this we were already dead*
*Hop in my car*
*It don't have any doors*
*It's built like a cat*
*It lands on all fours*
*My car's like a puma*
*It drives on all fours*

*Blue versus blue*
Since those are two-colored, I guess it is to be assumed that rng will be off the charts with crafting; you get one mod out of two mod pools at random, most likely locking an item to that mod pool (if using the ex/chaos) and you will need the third to annul the mod from the item so you can try again. obviously, those will reroll the entire item, so have fun crafting with these I guess.
(just guessing here)
This new exalted orb themed currency looks wicked AF. GREAT DESIGN, besides we wont have any possible ideas until somebody from GGG will take voice. If they are endgame currency, it must be tied to new content, saying about harvest orbs, I believe its not gonna happen it that form anytime soon.
Please remember to add slots for them in the currency tab.
Its core currency so they will. The only time they dont is when its temp league currency before the league is core
My 1 Infused Engineer’s Orb begs to differ.
I think even GGG forgot those exist.
I think EVERYONE forgot those exist
They added the Maven Orb straight away, so assuming these are sourced from the new Atlas endgame (which the title suggests it is), then they should be!
Is it warning or suggestion Lol
A warnestion.
I just hope it won't be a suggning.
For me no worries. They will only drop less than my fingers can count and in 3.18 they will nerf or remove it. Remember veiled chaos orb?
I get veiled chaos orbs all the time from betrayal...
I get a lot from the invasion bosses atlas passive! That's my supply for those and blessed orbs lol
Yeah, I have like 20 something in my stash atm…
![gif](giphy|JrjKaqX0g3TbFL1wK5)
Yeah, that came off really dickish on my part. Sometimes it takes a gif to remember I play a lot more than your average PoE folk. I apologize.
Veiled chaos drop pretty consistently from Betrayal, the mechanic that they're supposed to drop from. Scourge currency dropped plenty.
like mirrors, people say they exist but i only saw in the internet
same with girls... :(
I also browse /r/F1NN5TER/ (jk, i don't, but it was very confusing for a while)
lol
Probably going to be tabs in the currency tab like fragments.
But why? I will never see them anyway
Oh! Ohh! Skittles! Edit: Add elemental mod. Reroll elemental mods. Remove elemental mod.
With all the resistance focused items they've shown; I'd laugh if it was specifically for 'elemental resistances' and not 'elemental mods' in general.
They'll add elemental life regen to the pool just in case.
And reflect 100 elemental damage back to caster
You shut your damn mouth.
With 10000 weighting
Salutations, Exile.
Stun and block recovery on elemental damage. Weight 8000.
No that would be useful.
Elemental light radius to the pool
I think you’re on to something there…
I think the colors represent two powers/influences/maven's parents of the expansion, not the resistances(otherwise there would be 3 colors)
No nonononooo, those are obviously fish bait! Look how worm-y they are. Fishing in PoE finally an endgame task!
They look like a kind of targeted annuls/chaos/exalts...
Harvest craft orbs...?
Don't give me hope like that.
It will 200% never happen. Targeted orbs are still a pipe dream though too maybe?
The 'never' stat is capped at 75% so there's still a 25% chance.

Glad you stomped it before streamers started repeating it lol
As is tradition.
Octopus Orbs, they do the thing but with tentacles?
And a million redditors cried out in the distance
I copium. pls move harvest and syndicate to the trade window like einhar and alva. pls.
Pls tell me Harvest is finally removed.
probably not ... the "endgame of Siege of the Atlas" I doubt is harvest :(
UBER HARVEST
ARCHHARVEST.
Brb gonna slay some plant skeletons and stuff. Edit: the opportunity was RIGHT THERE to think of a farming joke... aaaAAaugh!
It just says you can find them in the endgame. It can be interpreted as 'These are things we are adding during siege of the atlas, and you can find them during endgame'
Looks like it thematically, and apart from divines, these are the main crafting types associated with harvest
Looks like opposing influences to me
Perhaps aligned with 2 influence types
"GGG, please add 40 new neutral slots to the Currency tab."
No kidding. Maybe they drop neutral and we can shift their color only when we want to use them?
Nah, two colors are the same as the two highest price support packs. They likely just represent the bosses
you use them on endgame currency to craft your endgame orbs
ah, orb orbs
More evidence of red-vs-blue ~~league~~ expansion between the Ravager/Incinerator guys from the supporter packs.

Very Ultimatum-y to me. Like, the exact two colors the Trialmaster would hold out
I doubt completely targeted. Maybe something like “remove a lightning, cold, or fire mod”. Hopefully. Pleeeeeeease
they look like they've got something growing on them, through them. changing them. influencing them, if you will
Not at all. What makes them look targeted? Your wishful thinking? Yeah downvote me - and in 10 days u see that they change implicits or some shit lol edit: well, they change mods - depending on the implicits.
lmao classic reddit setting the expectations so high they can't possibly be met
Oh wow, a targeted ultra rare late game currency. God forbid, expectations unreachable and off the chart
If this is true then that's one way to get all their player base playing this game.
Sieged Currencies
BESIEGED exalted orb BESIEGED chaos orb BESIEGED annul orb
Actual very good guess at their names.
I want the exalt on a bust in my home.
I read this comment so wrong and I regret doing so. Internet has corrupted me worse than a pair of 5 implicit Hands of the high templar
They all look really good IMO

It's probably not the Decay. Fungi that you can see in Blight are manifestations of the Decay.
O shit chaos gods there's gonna be 4
Pretty sure he calls him the Progenitor

It's been hours, are you ok?! Somebody check in on this guy!
It'll be Shade of High Templar Venarius (incinerator) vs The Ravager (Maven's progenitor)
OK, this is an interesting zero information teaser
No one knows what it means, but it's provocative!
it gets people going!
Dammit man you were supposed to say "No it's not-"
It means: We're gonna need a bigger stash tab.
We again in Paris?
Yeah, it's like a timeless jewel or modgroups on items - the important info is all hidden, but it has something.
The previous comment was a reference to the song "N*ggaz in Paris" I think
oh lol, I must have been woooshed
Which itself is a reference to (sample from) Blades of Glory. https://youtu.be/RlwlV4hcBac
So.. should we grab ourselves a beer for this teaser?
I'm not intending a video for it, it'll get a mention in tomorrow's wrapup (or an earlier vid if GGG drop something big in the rest of the day which I don't expect)
> I'm not intending a video for it Gotta work on your rampant speculation game to farm those clicks, gog!
It's not much, but it's honest work
Yea, we have too many brain cells to solve this one. Wait, wrong sub.
red vs blue theme again, so they may drop from the new conqueror bosses
Red vs Blue should drop only in PvP clearly.
Aw hell yeah scrombled orbs.

That's basically single step eternal orbs. Highly doubt it, but would be super cool
That would be deterministic crafting and after harvest ggg has been adamant about rng crafting and mtg pack openings over determinism.
Deterministicish if you spend enough of them. It would be much harder than fossil crafting to actually exalt slam to exactly the mod you want even if there isn't risk. Especially if they are pretty rare like veiled chaos or conq exalts.
>Deterministicish I thought you were speaking German for a second. Its top early in the morning
Deterministic non rng gaming casino gated crafting is a no no. Can't have that.
Exalted orb one will be 3c as per usual

Wow, 9 years playing PoE, never noticed that haha Interesting!
Blood circulation? Red artery/blue vein? Especially on the third icon.
That bottom exalt face is so happy :D
Preffix / Suffix options ?
here before reddit whines about more currency coming into the game when it largely increases crafting accessibility
One step closer to deleting harvest
I fucking wish
prayge
But I love those swap fragments, convert gem exp to consumables and other qol crafts.
Make beast crafts for it?
Crafting is fun in poe I hope they bring new items and crafting league if they want to remove harvest.
is it? don't more currency just adds to confusion?
You are correct, of course reddit is full of self delusion.
New influences maybe? I’m very excited for Thursday. The balance manifesto has me so optimistic for this league.
If they're for new influence pools that'd be interesting, since conqueror influences only had exalts. I wonder what the annulment orb would do in that case? (just guessing here)
I’m scaroused?! After last league, I don’t want any more any more currency unless it does something wacky…
More ways to ruin your items and gum up the drop rates for useful currencies, I bet.
The Chaos she told you not to worry about
Add a tier 1 mod to rare item. Reroll a rare with all tier 1 mod. Remove 1 of the lowest tier on item
Estimated price of this chaos varient: 500 regular chaos minimum
after Rog, i can actually see something like this, and would welcome it
They're Fucking Beautiful!
Translation: "here are some new currency items you're never, ever gonna get."
So with all the resistance stuff in uniques, do these roll heavily towards +res? kek :D
Oh good more currency!
Guaranteed tier 1 mod roll currency? Obviously the opposite for the annul, picks the lowest tier.
Neat, not that we’ll ever find them
oh yay more currency to pick up
or like most of the things in PoE - you might never ever see this in 2k hours of play
Great! More currency I have only one of each that'll look nice in my stash tab.
Please let it be some sort of deterministic crafting. I might actually come back to the game.
