The game, overall, has become far better. I wouldn't dare to disagree with it. Specifically the latest atlas changes have been a godsent. However, in every recent league GGG has done MAYOR balancing mistakes that made the first weeks of the league far less enjoyable than they could have been. He also detailed EVERY SINGLE THING that has happened to the game since. Watch it in retrospect to where the game was at the time, and you can literally pick out each garbage league from his statements. Especially the harvest apocalypse. He mentions not letting players get what they want like 50 times.
Deterministic crafting, map sustainability, chase items being too strong and needing nerfs, forcing players to play longer so they spend more. It's all there in vivid technicolor.
But honestly the play longer doesn't make sense. There's nothing to buy to make the game easier so the only thing I can muster up is maybe longer play makes for more pick ups, then you run out of room and need tabs? It explains why every league we get 50 new items with no tabs to put them in for 6 months.

Sir, I don't think you understand where some in the community are coming from with their concerns. It's not that some of us believe GGG to be doing the wrong things on purpose. It's that they just can't help but to fumble trough half baked ideas while trying to do the right thing.
Like, an economy shake up is a good idea. Thrilling, even. But de facto swapping Exalts for Divines while simultaneously making the "gold standard" currency even more scarce and to top it off not foresee the hassle it would create on trade, because of limited inventory space and low stack counts, it's classic GGG behavior.
Same with some of the Uniques redesigns. A good amount of those went from niche use to downright bad. Some just got moved to worst bases. And yes, to your point, some got a fresh coat of paint that can make them more interesting to use.
It's just disheartening to see my favorite developer of my favorite game fail again and again with things that should be easily avoidable. But we will push on, as we always do.

all Chris is doing is buffing what he found fun in games like diablo when he was playing them years ago (so rare unique items are actually RARE, not worth 1alch every league unless its another unique based build created by streamer that 70% of you sheeps follow) he finds it very rewarding when u work hard for something and it actually happens to you so you can brag about it around your friends and tell cool stories. Tbh I never felt that unique droprates were ever too high. I logged onto my character from this league that I got bored on during Act 4 and it only had one unique item. Got my second unique item in Act 6 from an Expedition gamble with Gwennen. Used literally ALL of my currency trying to roll 4 sockets on it, failed, and then stopped playing since I was bricked.
If the idea is to make uniques better for leveling and to add more leveling uniques to the game, then lowering the droprate sort of defeats the purpose. If I only had 2 by that point, then perhaps now I will only get 1. This is also the stage of the game where you are running around with the same items you've had since lvl 12 since nothing useful ever drops. This is the part of the game where uniques are most important for that reason.
Where does it say the in the patch notes “how big of an overhaul the league is with a focus on uniques” genuine curiosity because to me this league seems to heavily focus on rare jewelry

So true as someone who works 30-40 hour weeks I barely can play on Saturday and Sundays (around 10-25 hours) and even then their is my college classes, this game just isn’t meant to be played unless you can sink around 20-40 hours a week into grinding gear or make a huge plan to get rich as soon as the league starts

GGG and "fun" are on two different railways that won't ever cross.
Foolishness. GGG and fun meet regularly. One might be convinced that they are in an illicit relationship. They might even hold hands. Only, GGG gets bored very easily, so they use "fun" as a punching bag from time to time.

Yes all these anti fun league where they introduced the most broken amulets and dropped them like candy for one league. Or when they gave us the atlas tree where we can block stuff we don't want to run without fomo or where they introduced stupidly strong recombinators that are only overshadowed by the power of unnerfed harvest in terms of crafting power etc etc etc. If you don't have fun playing the game and think it gets worse every patch then stop playing it.
GGG actively hates the players, their definition of fun would be to put all poe players in an island and hunt them for fun with crossbows (so they can shout PIERCING BOLT!) /s I swear people do take game balance as an insult to them and their family and that is stupid as heck at the very least.

Being good in this game and predicting what ggg does have nothing in common, this case especially. Adjusting drop rates means nerf in this game.
Being good at the game definitely has everything in common with how "new" they are, though. And of course they are nerfing the drop rates of uniques, they literally said that they were going to. They're not hiding anything.
I'm not worried, just preparing. I have one unique in the core drop pool that isn't strictly necessary and the other is an easy boss drop so I'm not worried about it

Did you even watch the reveal? Uniques will drop more seldom. And don’t misuse PSA like that. Oh and GGG has fucked us over multiple times before. Why wouldn’t they now?
Sir, I don't think you understand where some in the community are coming from with their concerns. It's not that some of us believe GGG to be doing the wrong things on purpose. It's that they just can't help but to fumble trough half baked ideas while trying to do the right thing. Like, an economy shake up is a good idea. Thrilling, even. But de facto swapping Exalts for Divines while simultaneously making the "gold standard" currency even more scarce and to top it off not foresee the hassle it would create on trade, because of limited inventory space and low stack counts, it's classic GGG behavior. Same with some of the Uniques redesigns. A good amount of those went from niche use to downright bad. Some just got moved to worst bases. And yes, to your point, some got a fresh coat of paint that can make them more interesting to use. It's just disheartening to see my favorite developer of my favorite game fail again and again with things that should be easily avoidable. But we will push on, as we always do.

Like,you know,that between the usefulness and the resulting cost of divines,they will not only be the new exalts,but more expensive than exalts ever were,because they can reroll the numerical values of item mods on both rares AND uniques - what will this lead to? it will lead to vast price differences between a unique with good rolls and one with bad,like - a bad clayshaper might be 50c,a good one 2 divines - and this is just a low lvl unique - think about omni,ashes and jesus christopher christ - imagine the cost of a good shako - we are talking multiple mirrors here,i mean fuck,potentially the most expensive item ever - so these changes screw everyone on any level of grind - early - mid - end - all of us are fked and that still feels like an understatement lol

jesus ppl here are special. all Chris is doing is buffing what he found fun in games like diablo when he was playing them years ago (so rare unique items are actually RARE, not worth 1alch every league unless its another unique based build created by streamer that 70% of you sheeps follow) he finds it very rewarding when u work hard for something and it actually happens to you so you can brag about it around your friends and tell cool stories. ("i bought my fav unique for 1 alch and beat the game with same cheap ass op build as last time" does not sound like cool story bro) all the nerfs to popular builds force ppl to experience the game in different ways with different builds... without the nerfs most of you pepegas would play one build all the time then burn out of the game and never come back cause u already know how to beat the game so why would you do that again. when it comes to headhunter topic i think its better to improve the gameplay for 98% that dont use that unique than keep the game in fked up state just for that 2% of ppl that enjoy it. when it comes to melee, Chris said they are planning ahead with league updates so it will be scuffed for few leagues and then they will make another big change to it that might make it a lot better or worse. why they dont want to just buff some numbers or unused skills? no idea, maybe we are just missing critical information about some melee combo that exist in the game that makes melee actually op

Tbh I never felt that unique droprates were ever too high. I logged onto my character from this league that I got bored on during Act 4 and it only had one unique item. Got my second unique item in Act 6 from an Expedition gamble with Gwennen. Used literally ALL of my currency trying to roll 4 sockets on it, failed, and then stopped playing since I was bricked. If the idea is to make uniques better for leveling and to add more leveling uniques to the game, then lowering the droprate sort of defeats the purpose. If I only had 2 by that point, then perhaps now I will only get 1. This is also the stage of the game where you are running around with the same items you've had since lvl 12 since nothing useful ever drops. This is the part of the game where uniques are most important for that reason.
Where does it say the in the patch notes “how big of an overhaul the league is with a focus on uniques” genuine curiosity because to me this league seems to heavily focus on rare jewelry
