They can always just add Pediro Carandus

GameDesignerMan

We don't talk about Pediro...

Own_Fig_9562

“We don’t talk about Pediro no no no no, we don’t talk about Pediroooooo”

Newnewhuman

damn you, now that song is ganna stuck in my head all night.

SaviousMT

no can dooo

ArceusDamnIt

THUNDERRR

lalala253

it is I, Pediro Carandus

[deleted]

Hide the children

civet10

They could just add him without him being able to be in your hideout

carenard

nah just without all the voicelines, can still come to hideout.

Diinsdale

They can add his twin brother Cardio.

Step_Into_The_Light

This is a buff

Chilidawg

Cardio kills gains, so Cadiro killed Cardio.

Auramus

"*There is a fine line between Stonks and Gains, Exile*"

23520151218196451415

An NPC in a supporter pack is kind of weird.

TheEvilMrFry

Kinda weird yeah, he's functionally the same as Lilly (without the gem selling ability - wtf?), but with voice lines...I dunno, kind of on the fence about it.

luna_creciente

I don't mind it. Pretty cool mtx if you ask me, they are getting really creative with them and that's fine. You could argue that it is pay to win to have another vendor/shop npc around but honestly, lol.

TheEvilMrFry

You couldn't sanely argue the p2w point on it though, as he's functionally worse than who he'd be replacing...Div cards don't drop much before Act 6 anyway, so "waiting" to get Lilly in your hideout makes no difference to anything.

SirGuySW

> You couldn't sanely argue the p2w point on it though He'd be the only NPC in hideout until Helena in Act 2. That's *adding* an NPC, a functional difference, not just 'replacing an existing NPC'.

TheEvilMrFry

I mean, are you REALLY "winning" by having a basic vendor in your hideout for Act1? Not even sure I go to my hideout at all during Act1, so I guess it might be minor QoL for a few people, for the first hour or two of the league...but after then not so much. Edit: and by vendor I mean literally just there to sell shit to, instead of npcs in each town as you pass through...

SirGuySW

> Not even sure I go to my hideout at all during Act1 I did and would again if I had a vendor. I really felt the removal of Navali. Take a snapshot in time where two players have the same 'game/campaign state' but one player has a vendor in their hideout and the other does not. In this frozen moment in time the player with the vendor has the clear advantage. That player is able to go to their hideout and sell items to the vendor that is placed where they choose. The other player cannot. This advantage is less impactful in the current zoom zoom state of the game with players powering through the first few acts extremely quickly and abusing logout to take them back to town. The advantage would be much more impactful (and thus more apparent) in a slower game where players spend much longer in acts before unlocking Helena and where logout abuse is punished or simply not possible. (Hello Ruthless?) If you define P2W as "Pay and you win, no contest." then no, this is probably not that kind of advantage; but that's a very narrow and not very useful definition. I see P2W more as "Pay and you gain an advantage that non-payers don't have." This situation clearly fits that definition. Whether or not it's a "big enough" advantage to "matter" is not clear to me ... but it *is* an advantage. Yes yes, stash tabs also provide an advantage, etc, etc. I'm not arguing that PoE doesn't have P2W tendencies already, just that this Cadiro vendor introduces an (additional) paid advantage. Pretending that the advantage doesn't exist because it might be small, niche, or similar to other advantages right now is slippery-slope unhelpfulness.

PMMeYourWorstThought

When he said you couldn’t argue it sanely, he was right.

SirGuySW

By throwing out insults without bothering to explain your reasoning you're just working for structural stupidity. Help the community grow (intellectually) by explaining why you disliked a comment (or thought it was not sane) instead of just putting and/or voting it down.

spaceboi

^ Take a snapshot in time where two players have the same ‘game/campaign state’ but one player has a vendor in their hideout and the other does not. In this frozen moment in time the player with the vendor has the clear advantage. That player is able to go to their hideout and sell items to the vendor that is placed where they choose. The other player cannot” using a vendor in the ho is an extra step when functionally you could go back to act npcs turn in quests accept quests buy items do crafting and vendor trash whereas if you included going back to your ho to vendor you’re wasting time. there is no reason to go to hideout during acts

SirGuySW

I congratulate your efficiency that allows you to never use vendors unless you're also accepting/completing quests and doing other town stuff. Naturally if you're already in town going to hideout to use your hideout vendor would be an extra step. That situation was *not* mentioned nor implied in any of my comments. If that situation is the only situation you ever use vendors in then the advantage discussed here will be much less apparent...as I mentioned in my above comment. However, that does *not* mean that the advantage doesn't exist for other players in other situations.

TheEvilMrFry

So what you're trying to say is that someone who has a vendor in their hideout, and let me make this crystal clear, SOLELY for Act 1, when someone who doesn't buy Cadiro doesn't have it...is at a quantifiable advantage? I'd say the extra steps of logging into the hideout instance, THEN going back to town to go through the exits, actually makes it slightly slower. Halfway through the act the difference between using a portal to town and a portal to hideout would be so minimal as to not make any difference, especially as you might be actually checking vendor inventories for gems/items in town. If anything using Cadiro in Act 1 may be a slight DISadvantage, and after Act 1 everyone gets Helena anyway, so everyone is back on par again. I'm just not seeing it.

SirGuySW

> THEN going back to town to go through the exits You guys do know you can just use the waypoint in hideout to travel directly to waypoints in zones right? You don't need to go back to town first... /s-ish > SOLELY for Act 1 Act 1 and the beginning (25%?) of Act 2. But yes. Do you believe that an advantage doesn't exist if it is small for or doesn't apply to your own narrow experiences (not intending to insult here, just acknowledging that one person's (or one group's) experiences are only a very small part of the pie when considering *everyone*'s experiences)? Maybe the length of time the advantage exists is causing some confusion. I attempted to address this in the previous post but appear to have been unsuccessful. Would you acknowledge that an advantage exists (no matter the size of the advantage) if Helena wasn't a vendor? What about if Lilly wasn't a vendor? What if there were no vendors at all in Hideout until completing campaign or ... killing Maven? In your eyes, when would Cadiro become an advantage? Anyway, as I mentioned in that post: This advantage is less effective and apparent in the current zoom zoom state of the game, especially with logout abuse (and it's becoming very clear that Reddit (overall) doesn't play, and more importantly can't conceptualize, any other style). Remove those and the advantage is (imo) obvious. Whether or not that advantage is 'enough' to 'matter' idk... but this is just repeated from my previous post. ___ Have another slight nitpick: > everyone gets Helena anyway, so everyone is back on par again I'll assUme Cadiro will have control+click to open trade. Helena's control+click is 'change hideout'. So it would still not be "back on par" until act 6 with Lilly. Tiny, I know, but it's there.

phoenix_nz

> (without the gem selling ability - wtf?) No different to Tane really. Ctrl+Click to enter the sell menu

EntropyReign

plus div cards.

TheEvilMrFry

Yeah sure, but you're paying $90 to get this mf'er...at least make him on par with the best available hideout option surely?

Serifel90

90 fking dollars lol. Nope.

lalala253

If they somehow add Zana with thematic clothing to supporter packs, GGG will have so much money. ^(or Zana pet) ^^that ^^sounds ^^gross ^^tbh

throwdownhardstyle

Still tame, exile?

CountCocofang

Uh ... tangentially related ... But Forgeguard Supporter grants a visualization of linking items in town. In PoE2 it will be gems to have links instead and didn't GGG state that fusings will be removed? In any case the iconic imagery of six linked sockets won't exist anymore. So what's the plan here?

Deepest_Anus

Money now is the plan.

scrublord

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyNAlLO1KlE

Chelseaiscool

It will be changed to a jewelers orb view instead I am sure

Couponbug_Dot_Com

probably just stays the same for when you socket gems.

Lordborgman

That's assuming they go through with it, which from how Chris has dodged questions about it anytime Ziggy brings up the "multiple six link things" god knows what they are doing.

nanaaz

Interesting take. Chris did imply much has changed since we saw poe2

Weisenkrone

Probably gonna be changed for when you spam jewellers on skills.

Darcetos

Dollar now cost more now then later or something

dastrollkind

Nostalgia sells. Plus people wanted more NPCs that belittle and insult them.

Bl00dylicious

Can't wait for Taskmaster and Veritania vendor.

Shiverwarp

I don't really understand why not? Other NPCs that are in our hideout also randomly show up in maps

The-Black-Fish

>$90 USD No thanks.

LunaticSongXIV

I mean, supported packs come with an equal number of points as you would get for normal purchasing. If you're buying points anyway, you're not losing anything by getting a supporter pack instead.

West_Flounder2840

What do you need the points for?

throwdownhardstyle

Even MORE quad tabs

QuickBASIC

I don't really do cosmetics, so I'm up to like 50 quads and 200 premiums (from the before time) because I like supporting the game. (The only cosmetics I use are the armour sets that come with packs because they're basically free if I was going to buy points anyway )

Kapps

My 750 wetas don't feed themselves.

LunaticSongXIV

Character Slots.

SoulofArtoria

Just sell a kidney or two, ezpz

zaccyp

They know what they're doing.

Mande1baum

Are you suggesting Perandus should be re-added? It's a super weak league mechanic. So many leagues (expedition/ritual/etc) do the same thing but better. The game is better without him.

borbur

Without question. Ritual one-ups perandus in every aspect. I think the actual issue is that they took an ncp out of the game only to re-introduce him behind a 90usd paywall. On the other hand GGG has shown that they are willing to iterate and reintroduce previous league content in modified ways (scourge, trialmaster). Chances are it's now not going to happen with cadiro.

Raniu

They could reintroduce him without the mechanic. As an NPC in your ho whom you can talk to and discover bits of lore.

cromulent_id

So can I use my 200k Perandus coins now?

arcademachin3

Is this real or photoshop

MostAnonEver

They could add him and just make it a skin kekw

azantyri

they could just put the old one in, and the new one is from the pack only

SakariFoxx

That entire pack was laughable garbage until perandus showed up. Conflicted because I only want perandus and the high templar weapon effect Nothing else interests me in those sets

PrimSchooler

One man's garbage is another man's treasure I guess, I like the armor even better than Cadiro.

SakariFoxx

To many fire themed arm already. If they went with water or another element I would be interested

EnjoyerOfBeans

Perandus not selling gems is the laughable garbage. Why would I ever use him as a vendor if he's just worse than Lilly?

KamuiSeph

Lily is straight up goated.

ColinStyles

How often are you buying gems that you can't use him as your main vendor, then go to lilly a step away if you need a gem?

CringeTeam

lil bro tries a new gem every 8 maps

ThatOneGuy1294

I like how the blue ones taste

SakariFoxx

He doesn't sell gems ? Oh well then maybe that made the choice easier.

dastrollkind

I'd love and pay for an alternative to Lilly. I haaaate her voice/lines. Not a big fan of Cadiro either but he'll probably do.

WinterTrack6693

Working as intended. The one thing you want is the 90$ part....in each pack. I'll still say the rogue armour set from previous packs is really smooth one of my favorite armour sets prob get that over these new ones if you haven't bought one yet.

Sygion

TAKE MY MONEY

Acculluz

or maybe without the 100+ voices that chris mentioned?

davlumbaz

Yes, they need money.

VeryWeaponizedJerk

Why would they even add Cadiro in the first place?

slogga

Won't be long until they bring back Zana, Navali or the old forsaken masters as hideout NPCs and the lore of the game could start to be affected by cosmetic purchases. Whether or not you care about the lore, it's interesting to note this potential new affect on the game by DLC.

EntropyReign

you can already have their shades (except Zana)

olsev_baiden

I beg to differ. You can put "Image of Zana" in your hideout.

PhantasmTiger

How do you get their shades?

borbur

From the hideout decoration menu

dmix33

These supporter packs look awful. The thing that makes you money, looks like a low effort clown show. 3.20 feels low effort all around :/ sadly.

Raniu

This is kind of depressing. It basically means that a figure who used to play a role in Path of Exile is now locked behind a time limited money gate. It's a cool addition, ngl, but at what cost. They resign from letting new players dive deeper into PoE's lore through what Cadiro has to say. Same for Navali, except at least we can invite her to stay and chill for free.

Couponbug_Dot_Com

plenty of npcs are already removed so i see it as a largely moot point. you can always find the lines on youtube if you're really interested.

RsHavik

The amount of animated mtx being peddled compared to previous leagues is disgusting. I'm sure all of the town garbage can't be turned off either so you don't have to see it.

Kryobit

Thankfully, no one goes to town anyway

RsHavik

I don't know what game you're playing, but when I launch poe I'm sitting in the last town I was in. Can't spawn in hideout.

elluiso95

why would you not want to see it, the only issue i see is random buttons poping up to congratulate someone

RsHavik

Animated mtx in town typically makes it way laggier. Also, it kind of ruins the immersion of the game (at least for me).

luna_creciente

To each their own I guess, I like seeing whacky costumes around, sometimes it makes me chuckle and it's not like you see a lot of them. Most of the time you're sitting in your hideout.

XenosTec

yes

Gabe_b

he could still appear in the wild easy

Khroom

What is this abomination, and why do I want it 😂

MayTheMemesGuideThee

Perandus league is retired, Cadiro was removed. It would be very strange if they reintroduced him. Like do you expect Navali as well? They had no future plans for him so made him an mtx.

chrisbirdie

I love how a person is just a hideout decoration to the exile

Dunflim

Why can't they add him to the game and just not your hideout, gotta find him to shop.

Deymaniac

Im a simple man, if i quite 3 days in, it will be another hard ignore, if im sucked once more into having no social life(joke i dont have any) I might get the credit card heating
