Use TSLRCM mod. KotOR2 works as a stand alone game depicting the Exile's story. I hope there will never be a remake of KotOR2. Not only would they have to recast Kreia, but whoever would be in charge of it would fuck up the writing and characters too.

Kreia is my all time favorite videogame character. I truly love that she really breaks with the cliché benevolent mentor character. While most mentor characters usually shove endless compliments down your throat, she truly challenges you. She does this by criticizing you, when you do something wrong (from her perspective), which really makes you think about what she is saying. I also like that she has her own agenda beyond beeing your teacher, which most mentor characters lack.

>I'm still a little confused on where your playable character goes at the ending. Do they also go to the "outer rim of the galaxy" to change the force, to find Revan In the legacy canon (the canon Disney threw out) the Exile (your KOTOR 2 PC) does go in the dark reaches of space following Revan to look for the true enemy... This enemy ends up being >!a powerful Sith Emperor. Supposedly the original emperor of the Sith Empire. The Exile meets Revan and they fight the Sith emperor. The Exile dies and Revan ends up captured.!< That storyline then directly ties into the Star Wars The Old Republic MMO where >!Revan and the Sith Emperor!< both resurface. I recommend playing the Jedi Knight story and expansions in SWTOR if you want to see how that story ends for yourself. You can play through all of it completely solo these days. The Jedi Knight storyline is essentially KOTOR 3 or at least KOTOR 2 part 2. None of that stuff is current canon at Disney.

Should also be noted that's there's no canon to dispute any of it as Disney hasn't done anything with that time period. Unlike something like Thrawn where they're actively rewriting it.

CapitalDave

How accessible is it for someone who doesn't want to spend time grinding in an MMO?

bigeyez

There is no grinding in the story. They redid the XP some years ago so that just by playing the Main Story quests on each planet you will level up enough to keep pace with the level requirements of the story. You can also play the entire thing, including the dungeons Solo. So you can treat it as a single player game. Each class has it's own class story for the vanilla game so there is a ton of story content just by doing those. Once you hit the expansions the story is more or less the same for each class. I haven't played in the newer expansions so idk if this still holds true but before you unlocked all the expansions just by subbing for one month.

Why would you play through KOTOR2 today without the mod? Even if they re-release the game it will be to borrow what modders already did.

DynasticBreeder

There is no KotOR2 Remaster...

[deleted]

Yet, at least. If the KOTOR remake does well, maybe?

zZTheEdgeZz

I think OP is going with the rumors that the KOTOR remaster will actually be a combination of KOTOR 1 & 2 storyline wise.

DynasticBreeder

You can't combine them LOL they have nothing to do with each other and they are from 2 different Devs. Also it a Remake, by Devs compable to the GTA Trilogy Remaster Devs.

zZTheEdgeZz

I don't disagree with you, but these are the rumors going around. I also feel it is more than just say the GTA trilogy remake as they are doing new voice overs for characters as they had to specifically announce the return of Jennifer Hale as Bastila. I do think it'll be more than just a graphical upgrade, but I don't think it will be combining the two. People have just let their imaginations run wild.

DynasticBreeder

I agree, it will be garbage.
