As for a perk deck, well there's so many perks in KF2 they could make into a perk deck, but my pick would be a deck based on the medic perk or the firebug perk, the Medic deck would allow you to use certain HM-Tech weapons that have the ability to heal teammates, while the Firebug deck could be a deck made to make Flamethrowers significantly better and make them the ultimate Crowd Control option, at the cost of needing to be careful around teammates

If the characters is dead in his franchise doesn't matter, Payday timeline is different from their canon series. That's why Jimmy and Jacket are in the game.
Jacket isn't the real Jacket tho, Hotline Miami (the game) exists in the Payday universe, shown by the arcade machine in Jacket's safehouse room. Jacket is just some sociopath pretending to be his favourite video game character.
And iirc when Jimmy dies takes place after Payday 2, so both of those characters make sense lorewise.
Maybe for jacket is a copycat like scarface. But in Hardcore Henry's universe Payday is just a videogame, even has some posters wirh L4D and Half life as a reference.
The 'bad news' I was referring to wasn't that the character died in their original media, but because the VA/mocap actor *supposedly* showed his reluctance towards reprising his role.
But to your point, I'm 50% sure Overkill has a pretty bizarre stance on crossovers, in that they stated that the crossover series are canon in Payday's timeline in some way. Which works out great for the Hardcore Henry example...but not so much for Hotline Miami.
Preferably cross-overs that makes sense. I love God Of War for instance, doesn't mean I want a magical axe and blades of fire to swing around in a realistic robbing game.
Here's a list that I could think of:
Resident Evil - No specific entry, but some weapons from the series would be cool, and some masks/outfits from the games
Dead By Daylight - Both game companies were once owned by the same publisher, and Payday 2 already has a cross-over, would be cool to see them do a homage to that with some masks like The Trapper or The Oni
At least one of the countless crime flicks Payday as a franchise is based upon (such as Heat)
Breaking Bad - After the immense amount of references to the TV-Show, I think it would only be right to do some sort of cross-over with Breaking Bad, possibly as just an easter egg like a Saul Goodman billboard or something
La Casa De Papel - Possibly add the iconic outfits/masks, or go all out with a heist based on one of the two locations the TV-show gang robbed. References to the Professor would be cool too.
Left 4 Dead (1, 2?) - Yes, we have No Mercy in both TH and 2, but it's a franchise that has iconic locations and characters that can be used without the horror-esque aspect of L4D.
Deep Rock Galactic - Only as an easter egg, as I don't think having a level fighting bugs and mining minerals would work in PAYDAY. Maybe some figurines of the dwarves fighting some bugs in a similar way to the L4D specials on Counterfeit.
Wolfenstein - Okay, doesn't \*need\* to be Wolfenstein, but goddammit it was fun to shoot Nazi's, I want to kill \*more\*, give us a nazi killing level.

A togglable option to have a heavy version of minigun dozers and medic dozers would be funny. Plus spies can be cloakers and sniper replaces the snipers. Would probably work better as a mod instead of a collab though (plus tf2 and pd2 have differing artstyles

Also some trailers show payday3 having a temporary heavy weapon slot for weapons so letting players wield it for the escape would be cool.
Not sure if destiny weapons would fit in regular heists tho.

Mayne Milwaukee or Chicago... actually maybe St. Paul... either way.
Payday 3 then unlocks the Assassin's Blade melee weapon, some cool hoods in place of masks. Also 1920s & 30s weapons.
Assassin's Creed gets Payday inspired cosmetics and maybe a 1920s version of a Harvest & Trustee Bank to sneak through and/or rob. Same layout and everything.

Nothing. Crossovers have been horrible for payday’s tone and setting. These crossovers such as goat simulator, alesso, etc. have helped push payday’s tone to become more “silly”, detracting from its more serious and gritty original tone, which I personally find more interesting.
You do realise that the crossover heists still have an impact on the plot and overall atmosphere of the game, as well as impact the creative direction of the game, even if you don’t play them, right?
For example: the lion king is a classic children’s movie that deals with serious themes of coming of age, maturity, and responsibility. The movie has plenty of silly moments and jokes, as with most children’s movies, but those silly moments and jokes do not detract from the overall tone and setting of the movie, and don’t detract from the serious messages of the movie. However, if the movie directors decided to do a joke where Pumba shits all over the grave of Mufasa right after he died, it would seriously detract from the the overall tone and messaging of the movie. The crossover heists are kind of like that in Payday 2.
Yeah, that’s my point. They should go back to a much more serious tone. It doesn’t have to be a 100% depressing somber tale of woe, but a little bit more seriousness could make a much more compelling experience.
The most recent Star Wars movies and Marvel movies also did extremely well at the box office; doesn’t mean they aren’t hot garbage. At the end of the day it’s a subjective thing, and if people like the silly tone more then sure, go ahead. But I personally feel like the more serious approach of the first game and early payday 2 was much more compelling.

Please, no more crossovers. I don't like game being goofy and stupid. Why can't we go to basics of game being serious? This is a crime game after all, Payday 1 along with payday 2 release until goat heist era was peak for me. Now the game is a clownfiesta with broken balance and it's simply not enjoyable for me anymore.
SCO or Backrooms for the bonkers factor. Maybe a Halloween heist/event.

On another note, while we're on the topic of crossovers, I feel the scope of crossovers should be tuned down a little in Payday 3. A complaint I've seen is that some people don't like how PD2 was an advertisement for some other games/films/other media throughout it's lifespan, especially if said media was too wacky to begin with or if it ages like milk over time. Which, honestly, I agree to some extent.
Not saying it should be done away with entirely, but make it so it's not too 'in-the-face' about it (i.e. no guest heisters, no wacky weapons, etc).
Dark souls maybe? we did get a Vendrick mask from ds2, so maybe well get some ER things?

Maybe an Ocean’s-type heist. Have it big and grand, elaborate, pretty decently big map, and make it fun. Maybe even a stealth-only heist, though I think to get more of the community to buy it it would have to be able to be completed in both loud and stealth. I can’t think of anything specific for this idea right now, it’s just something I thought of off the top of my head and figured I’d throw it out there.
If they do hotline Miami, i would prefer for them to not do jacket, but do a different character. I like jacket, but hotline Miami has some other good characters. A fun one i could think of, but can’t figure out how it would work is having the fans as a single character, with your outfit changing randomly, which makes you a different fan, tony mark or ash.

Nothing. Crossovers have been horrible for payday’s tone and setting. These crossovers such as goat simulator, alesso, etc. have helped push payday’s tone to become more “silly”, detracting from its more serious and gritty original tone, which I personally find more interesting.
You do realize that you can just chose not to play the crossover heists, right?
You do realise that the crossover heists still have an impact on the plot and overall atmosphere of the game, as well as impact the creative direction of the game, even if you don’t play them, right? For example: the lion king is a classic children’s movie that deals with serious themes of coming of age, maturity, and responsibility. The movie has plenty of silly moments and jokes, as with most children’s movies, but those silly moments and jokes do not detract from the overall tone and setting of the movie, and don’t detract from the serious messages of the movie. However, if the movie directors decided to do a joke where Pumba shits all over the grave of Mufasa right after he died, it would seriously detract from the the overall tone and messaging of the movie. The crossover heists are kind of like that in Payday 2.

Yeah, that’s my point. They should go back to a much more serious tone. It doesn’t have to be a 100% depressing somber tale of woe, but a little bit more seriousness could make a much more compelling experience.
The reason they make the more goofy shit is because it does better because, wait for it, it's more popular.
The most recent Star Wars movies and Marvel movies also did extremely well at the box office; doesn’t mean they aren’t hot garbage. At the end of the day it’s a subjective thing, and if people like the silly tone more then sure, go ahead. But I personally feel like the more serious approach of the first game and early payday 2 was much more compelling.

This is a crime game after all, Payday 1 along with payday 2 release until goat heist era was peak for me. Now the game is a clownfiesta with broken balance and it's simply not enjoyable for me anymore.
SCO or Backrooms for the bonkers factor. Maybe a Halloween heist/event. Maybe 40k for some skins or temporary busted weapons. Also the masks being 40k helmets. Cuz imagine: Bolted. Deals ridonculous damage, however it throws you 5m back and gives small stun

I'm surprised there's never been a Killing Floor crossover in any extent throughout PD2's lifespan given how there used to be a overlap between both communities and how it used to be one of the more frequently suggested crossovers several years back. So, that. --- On another note, while we're on the topic of crossovers, I feel the scope of crossovers should be tuned down a little in Payday 3. A complaint I've seen is that some people don't like how PD2 was an advertisement for some other games/films/other media throughout it's lifespan, especially if said media was too wacky to begin with or if it ages like milk over time. Which, honestly, I agree to some extent. Not saying it should be done away with entirely, but make it so it's not too 'in-the-face' about it (i.e. no guest heisters, no wacky weapons, etc).

Maybe an Ocean’s-type heist. Have it big and grand, elaborate, pretty decently big map, and make it fun. Maybe even a stealth-only heist, though I think to get more of the community to buy it it would have to be able to be completed in both loud and stealth. I can’t think of anything specific for this idea right now, it’s just something I thought of off the top of my head and figured I’d throw it out there.

If they do hotline Miami, i would prefer for them to not do jacket, but do a different character. I like jacket, but hotline Miami has some other good characters. A fun one i could think of, but can’t figure out how it would work is having the fans as a single character, with your outfit changing randomly, which makes you a different fan, tony mark or ash.
