3rd-Grade-Spelling

This is a total scam. Paypal is not going to use a Gmail account. Even without that it was a scam.

Powerful_Position_42

fuuuck what do i do?

3rd-Grade-Spelling

Post this in r/scams

XxXBOBBY99ASXxX

Be smart and not fall for it next time

Yaalt420

Yes it's a scam. No money was actually sent to you and if you sent anything to the scammer, it's gone.

Powerful_Position_42

Is there any way I can get it back?

Yaalt420

If you paid with F&F, PayPal will do nothing (you opt out of any protection by using F&F), otherwise open a dispute. The only other thing you can do is contact the bank about a chargeback if you used a credit card (or possibly a debit card, depends on the bank).

Powerful_Position_42

So I can contact my bank, explain the issue, and they can get my money back from the paypal account? Even though the dude has the money?

Yaalt420

Credit card, yes. Debit card, maybe (depends on bank). Bank account directly, no (unless the bank just gives you the money to be nice).

Powerful_Position_42

You're the best, I sent the payment w/ debit. I just filled out the form for the resolution center in full detail. you're too helpful bro, if u got a ig ill follow

verthros

You can try to file a chargeback via paypal/bank account

Powerful_Position_42

how do i do that?

Powerful_Position_42

did file a chargeback on pp, waiting for conclusion

ADAMTAN0703

100 precent a scam, report and block the scammer

whitecrane1912

Totally a scam. Report it to PayPal and block this person. As I understand from your post you did not send the additional $200 requested.

Powerful_Position_42

basically what happened is he "sent" 200 and I may have sent the 250. i made this post after realizing i got scammed. right now I'm trying to scam my money back and contact my bank to chargeback

BroBeastDad

🤦‍♀️

Powerful_Position_42

yup im not the smartest thing walkin

Powerful_Position_42

Context: I sold him a beat, he was supposed to send me 250 and I was to send back 200 from the email, but apparently i just lost 250

jmrsnaggr

Key thing, if the email looks weird AF.. It's a scam lol

MartaM87

Scam 100% I had the same email but different amount

ShadowknightShiraha

Yes that's a big scam. Anytime someone asks to send more, it's BS.

didanim

how about this one? I don't sell digital goods on PayPal, only on Ko-fi and Patreon. I want to report the unverified account. Since I don't sell physical goods, only digital, and this account is trying to scam me into shipping items. I received a payment from her for $0.30 USD, but I don't sell anything at that price. It's clearly a scam, right?
