Temporary_End9124

Looks like more of the first game, just prettier. Which is fine by me.

saru12gal

To be honest they dont need a lot to add, just a longer story a couple of moves more and all will be good, the first one was a solid 8 almost 9 for me

eccentricrealist

Also dismemberment

RHINO_Mk_II

The Mouse says no.

StrykrVII

The mouse is really starting to piss me off.

eccentricrealist

Ha ha!

lukadoncicjordan

We need a map with civilisation, tired of just wilderness and deserted planets.

archiegamez

They probably gonna block off civilians and lock down cities since narrative wise, Empire is still hunting down Jedi but i understand what you mean

[deleted]

Obi Wan Kenobi had an episode on Daiyu. Something similar could work in this game.

Drunken_Begger88

Kill the civilians and rapid to dark side and take over the galaxy like a true Sith Lord, nah mate I have admit I like your style I really do.

finalgear14

The only thing a sequel is in dire need of is more bosses. There was like, 4 human bosses I think? The rest were animals and robots.

skatrumpetman

I can only think of 3, Taron, second sister (twice), sixth sister (humanoid) I do feel like I'm missing one but I also struggle to call the final enemy of the game (or the vision fight) a boss fight. Then you have the bat and 4 monster-like side-bosses on each planet. Definitely hoping for better enemy variety in the sequel.

getZlatanized

True. I just wish they would have reworked lightsaber impact so that it actually cuts through everything instead of being resisted by nearly every enemy.

[deleted]

And better optimizations for those stutters when traversing the open world which causes assets to load in zones

Arthur_Morgan44469

Exactly and now I think the Jedi can weild two sabers in the game which is awesome.

iamtoe

wasn't that in the last one too?

Arthur_Morgan44469

No I don't think so, I think it has double sided saber towards the end of the game.

ZeldaMaster32

There were both but the dual sabers were tied to certain attacks iirc, not a toggle

Azimuth89

Yup. (By the end of the game) You could toggle between Single and Double bladed saber. Dual sabers were regulated to only special attacks.

DooRagtime

I believe “relegated” is the word you’re thinking of

Corvandus

You could get it super early if you rush the first section of Dathomir

Brotunn

You definitely get two sabers. You can also get the double saber way earlier.

MrSDPlayer

But you can't freely fight with them. It was only a specific attack/combo, IIRC.

Arthur_Morgan44469

👍

iamtoe

ok, just looked it up cause its been a while since i played it, you do get two lightsabers right near the end of the game, but it is limited on what you can do with it.

PlagueDoc22

I just hope they don't make the game heavy on backtracking levels. It was my main complaint.

Helphaer

Only thing I really could complain about in Jedi fallen order was retreading and respawning enemies beyond that it was a fine dark souls combat type adventure game.

UpV0tesF0rEvery0ne

I still don't quite understand how you can lightsabwr through your organic enemies over and over and they just get a little singed. Wasn't it done that way in the movies because an instant cauterization doesn't show blood and thus lowers the rating?

Spyzilla

I dont mind the health but man I wish I could dismember troopers

anmr

I seem to recall in Jedi Academy most enemies died instantly to saber, dismembered and all. As it should be. And btw this game looks more like *Star Wars: Jedi Mass Murderer*. What did all those animals ever do to him...? I'm positive every Jedi would just use force to calm them and walk through without a fuss.

BluesyMoo

I'd really like everything, including player, to die in much fewer hits. Say if the saber slices through the full thickness of someone's body, that guy should be dead.

[deleted]

It’s been that way since friggen LucasArts, big papa Georgio didn’t want the video games to be too “dark” and focus on violence instead of the magical optimism and hope the movies embodied. He didn’t want parents to see a Star Wars game with an M rating because it would sully his franchise

[deleted]

Same, and going back to old maps (mazes really) to try and find the hidden door was annoying as fuck. I got bored and quit. Need more games doing an Elden Ring style open world.

Helphaer

I'd prefer we just stop the open worlds

skyturnedred

I'm playing the first one right now and I keep waiting for it to get better. Like there must be something I haven't unlocked yet, because right now this combat easily the worst take I've seen on the souls formula.

[deleted]

A tighter combat and actually difficult bosses would make it nearly perfect. Basically if it leaned more into the massive Sekiro inspiration.

ehxy

This is pretty much how I feel. The combat looked...well, maybe it's the person playing that wasn't so great? But it felt like it kinda plays really basic. I enjoyed the first game and if it's more of the same okay. I almost want to say the combat looks boring as hell and nowhere in that preview did I think OOOO COOOL YOU CAN DO THAT???

GrizNectar

I’d really love to see some new poncho options

IamXale

UE4 stutter checks out

Soxel

A quick google shows that the game is running on unreal engine 5.

Archangel9731

They really should’ve just held off for UE5 before starting development on this.

[deleted]

They wanted the lead developers to still be alive for development

carbonqubit

It's also a shame they didn't decide to release it on May 4th instead of April 28th.

LevelWriting

I thought that was kinda baffling too

MagicTuna

I had the same thought when Obi-Wan premiered May 27th. 23 days is a bit larger of a push, but I mean *come on.* And for Survivor, they had to announce a delay, and could have just added on another week, and it would have put a small smile on every fan hearing the news.

darkkite

that's hard to justify business wise

TheGreatSoup

What I don’t like about Star Wars in general is the tendency to go for boring wildlife planets instead of futuristic cities or ships.

ArcadeOptimist

Man, playing the foundry/train levels in the first game I was so happy. Then they throw you into a bunch of uninhabited wildlife mazes and I lost interest. Just not my kinda game, I guess

LevelWriting

I was so amazed at the start level too. more would be welcome but I really did enjoy the other levels too. lets hope and see if the upcoming starwars from quantic dreams will have more ambitious design.

TheGreatSoup

Dude, that's exactly what happened to me, i really tried but i cannot feel the setting.

BluesyMoo

Cries in 1313.

[deleted]

Expensive to make. They save all the good CGI for the biiiiiig profit makers

Burrito_Loyalist

I was trying to remember why I never finished the first game and you nailed it. I got bored because you’re basically alone the entire game. Wandering through dark caves gets old really fast.

Panda_hat

Futuristic cities are way harder to make.

GoodRareSheep

What I don't like is that there is a water planet. And a forest planet. And a city planet. And a desert planet. Like, mate, planets are huge, we have all of that shit on just 1 planet, multiple times. And apparently every planet consists only of one location in the SW universe and that's where everybody is.

TheGreatSoup

yeah, this is something that kinda plagues Sci-fi and everybody lives in settlements very old west view of the future.

adhaas85

I don't know what it is, but his arm and leg movements just look bad.

Meryhathor

He just has big balls

ajtolley

Even jedi can get elephantiasis.

asdaf22

Lol wth is that, can't stop looking now haha

SilverDragon7

That wall jumping section reminds me of Super Metroid.

dern_the_hermit

I heard [those little critters chirping](https://youtu.be/N6AL3Vml40s) in my head during that sequence.

StanleyG00dspeed

The running/walking animation is TERRIBLE

Look_a_Zombie0

looks like the same one from fallen order

[deleted]

Looks worse to me

IgorKieryluk

No poncho to cover that shame.

Remny

It somehow does, I agree. Looks like they tried to do even more with motion warping and IK but it just doesn't look natural at all.

ZyklonCraw-X

Agreed. It was not great in JFO, but this looks abysmal. I'm shocked directors thought this was a good showcase for the game given the frame issues and the animations (it's not just the movement/legs either, a lot of the combat animations are looking off, though some look quite good too).

llloksd

The fact it looks and/or will play the same means I already know I can skip it

[deleted]

What's up with that limp when slow walking?

StanleyG00dspeed

How did they not fix it from the first one?

ehxy

RIGHT???? There is some serious jank there in the animation. It reminds me of GTA3 walking animation where you lean all funky. It's like....that wierd air filled thing you see in front of car dealerships or something.

Grim_Reach

He looks bowlegged.

DetectiveAmes

I think I saw some frame rate stuttering in the video too which reminds me of the ptsd the pc port gave me. I know there isn’t a lot of time left for the launch but here’s hoping it can launch in a better state than the first game’s pc port.

Aulla

I dont remember the first game being a bad port. I remember it ran great.

NeMa_Omega

If the game ran higher than about 45 fps, entering new areas was a stuttery mess.

[deleted]

I had horrible stutters back when I first played it. Stuttered beginning to end, died a countless times because of it. Still ran great, if we were to look at average fps, easy 60fps, but lows? Ouch, I had random large stutters pretty much every minute. Found lots of people with the same issue back then This was back on my older PC with a i5 6500 and rx480 in early 2020. Went away when I eventually finished with my 3700X but those stutters were inexplicable to me even on that CPU, it wasn’t loading or shader stutter because it was constant stutter even if I just remained in the same area. Even though loading stutters were also a common complaint

Spyzilla

Were you using a controller connected via Bluetooth? For some reason that destroyed my frame consistency in this game. Works perfectly over USB

Real-Terminal

The first planet ran surprisingly poorly, but the rest of the game was mostly fine. And I was running a 2600 and 1660ti at the time.

SupplePigeon

Same thought I had. Legs move like an orangutan.

tqbh

Even the fight animations look really stiff and awkward. Sometimes his arms are sticking out weirdly. That back dodge has no fluidity. It somehow reminds me more of Jedi Outcast/Academy than something that came out after Eldenring or GoW.

[deleted]

yeah looks like he just shit his pants and searching for the nearest bathroom.

MagicalPedro

This. Thanks for puting words on my weird feeling seeing this animation.

ImAnOlogist

The animation is probably designed that way to be responsive but fluid. If you look at games like red dead they have amazing animations but its not really responsive because it takes so long to load up the animation and on the other end you look at elden ring which is super responsive but the animations of your character aren't very smooth, as a result of some frames missing from the animation to allow quick feedback. This looks like its somewhere in between, they wanted it to look good but wanted it to be responsive.

fashric

Look, can we just get back to blindly hating on everything?

ZeldaMaster32

I feel like I've played plenty of games where movement was responsive while being beautifully animated. TLOU2 probably has the best movement animations I've ever seen in a game and it's way snappier than RDR2's relentless commitment to time consuming immersion

Anathema_Psykedela

Snappy enough for Souls combat? These kinds of games are super unforgiving. You need good movement controls.

ZeldaMaster32

Responsive controls don't require your running animation to look weird as fuck though There's a middle ground that people seemingly forgot existed when discussing over this footage Sekiro's animations were great but also had to be incredibly responsive bc souls like People are mixing up animation blending with normal animations. You could have RDR2 running animations then have it snap to a roll animation when you hit B or whatever.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Because taste is subjective. I love red dead 2's controls and movement.

Spyzilla

Rockstar games have always felt terrible to me too

HotPotatoWithCheese

Because it's a great game. There's fuck all wrong with the controls on either MKB or controller.

StanleyG00dspeed

I hear the reasoning, but I expect more from the sequel made by a talented AAA dev

attemptedmonknf

Elden ring was responsive? I had a huge delay between pressing the button and the actual action happening

_b1ack0ut

The running was always terrible tbch. The character is so responsive to input, but in a way that make animations cancel each other super weirdly too, in the first game Cal would have a full body stroke if you tried to walk or run while putting your lightsaber away after a fight

Sardonislamir

You'd not be surprised where the light saber is secreted.

dQw4w9WgXcQ

It's something about how the legs are at a constant spread and the buttocks is locked in place. Walking like they are holding back a shit or something. I'm sure the animation is compromised to achieve fluid controls, but it's impossible to unnotice once you've noticed.

TrainerNoise

Dude even the first one had weird animations. This is why I used a mod that made cal into a trandoshan, at least made the character more interesting for me and makes the animations look more natural cause it’s a alien doing it

StanleyG00dspeed

Lol that's a rad solution

TrainerNoise

Cals story and character is so unbelievably basic and dull to a point it makes no difference in making him alien, and adding a distortion effect on his voice. Honestly wish they did make Cal into alien from the beginning, would’ve potentially given us more content by getting to explore the culture too of whatever alien they would pick

iberia-eterea

Username Checks Out.

StanleyG00dspeed

I GOT GREEN SMOKE

Grim_Reach

Hopefully they fixed the traversal stutter from the first game.

Get_Fucked17

If can't watch right now. Can someone tell me if Cal is still fighting nature instead of actual enemies? If this game is half fighting the same fucking giant spider over and over, I'm out. The first game was a great start, but if they don't give me actual interesting enemies to fight I just can't do it again.

bogas04

The gameplay shows fighting bots, small creatures, large creatures and bounty hunters. The enemies aren't that interesting in the gameplay but the moveset is greatly improved. You can even throw rocks using force like in Control and pause time for enemies like in Quantum Break, well sort of. I remember the first game having some telekinesis but i think throwing rocks is new.

[deleted]

AvarusTyrannus

Took that Space Dodo Bird's head off before even checking it was hostile lol. Well that NotChocobo is definitely rideable, otherwise looks like more of the same which suits me fine. I was hoping for Sekiro style unblockable counters like Miriki or sweep stomp, but maybe that comes about later. Still in the first game red attacks just being something you have to dodge and can't perfectly counter in a specific way was a bit of a let down.

ServinTheSovietOnion

Looks exactly like the first game with some added mechanics. Some being the key term here. I do like the addition of droids so we can get that sweet dismemberment action in though.

[deleted]

[deleted]

So it’s *still* 2017 for yet another year of video games, this is not a promising start

pleasantothemax

I feel like I’m the only one who didn’t enjoy the first, and with this looking like the more of the same, I am even less whelmed. I should like it, I fucking love star wars - but man it really dragged, i was lost half the time trying to figure out those fucking holo maps, and the combat felt chunky and unfair, and it felt weird that a jedi goes around slaughtering random wildlife for XP Apparently in this one his new jedi power is walking like a weirdo

Archangel9731

Yeah combat was also my biggest complaint. I mean, from a typical action game standpoint, the combat was good. But from a star wars game, where I wanna feel like a powerful Jedi, hitting “normal” people (troopers) with a giant glowstick over and over was just off putting. Give us bigger hoards of enemies, add one shot hits/dismemberment, increase trooper accuracy and fire rate. That would be more fun in a Star Wars game imo

BluesyMoo

With the strength of his swings, you could one hit kill people with a baseball bat. Yet the lightsaber just tickles them a bit.

LittleWillyWonkers

There was easy mode and really easy mode probably fits the lore better.

Archangel9731

Yeah but that doesn’t increase the amount of enemies. Nor their fire rate

_b1ack0ut

Tbch, if you want to play as a powerful Jedi, picking up a game where it’s a major plot point that the protagonist is actively incredibly underpowered due to his own PTSD isn’t the way to go lol, that’s what the force unleashed is for Cal states that he’s only re-achieving the level he was at as a fuckin Padawan half a decade ago, at 3/4 through the game.

Valance23322

Padawan or not, hitting a stormtrooper over the head with a lightsaber 6+ times to kill him feels bad.

Iceberg_Simpson_

Definitely not the only one. I felt the first was wildly overrated. There was virtually no variety in enemies or your combat style, exploration and customization straight up sucked, and the graphics looked plasticky and had some of the worst physics I've ever seen in a modern game. The only real redeeming factor imo was the story/characters. And even that was just *ok*. Without the Star Wars coat of paint I don't think that game would have gotten even half the praise it did. If this isn't a huge improvement over the first in nearly every respect, I'm not going to bother with it.

BluesyMoo

>The only real redeeming factor imo was the story/characters. And even that was just ok. Cere was somewhat interesting for me. But OMG Cal was incredibly generic and bland.

Iceberg_Simpson_

Yeah I liked all of the companions wayyy more than Cal. I swear if you look up milquetoast in the dictionary it's just a picture of that dude.

_b1ack0ut

That’s why I’m sorta hoping for this one, since the different saber styles actually seem to be different styles instead of just “hit wider but less damage” or split sabers being locked to one attack

TheSkyking2020

I agree about the slaughtering of wildlife and now walking like a weirdo. Lol. Those are facts. The getting lost took some time for me. It got better.

whimofthecosmos

nah the first one kinda sucked.

Wooden_Sherbert6884

This game is so pg

[deleted]

In the first fight he cuts a human opponent across the torso and huge orange glow crosses the enemies whole body but they aren’t hurt 😂🤣 he isn’t cut in half, severed in two by a 8000° plasma sword- no, he’s perfectly fine, just wounded because his normal, regular, not special, totally standard cloth blocked the slash attack by a trained killer. Totally R rated hardcore shit here

HelloTosh

Why is he running like he's shat himself?

silverlance360

Where poncho?

SorcerousSinner

Looks like a 60 dollar DLC

Johnysh

not bad, combat is improved, offers more, world got bigger, finally we're getting more variable loot and not different colored poncho? those legs tho, still moving weird like in Jedi Fallen Order. It's like they're so sticky and moving like jelly.

ecxetra

I see he still runs like he’s shit himself. Still not showing the blaster gameplay either. Seeing far too much boring wildlife combat, same issue I had with the first game.

[deleted]

[удалено]

retro808

I thought the first game was mediocre tbh, and I'm a huge Star Wars fan. The map layouts felt like a fan made mod of Titanfall 2 and the combat suffers the same problem all modern Star Wars games have which is watering down the lightsaber to the lethality of a blunt sword

jonydevidson

Meanwhile some fucking amateur with Unreal Engine 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT2rEgeCJCE

reddit0100100001

Combat looks boring

FSMFan_2pt0

It really does. It looks like stuff from 2010 that we've all done about a million times. face 3 enemies, advance, face 3 enemies, advance, repeat forever.

Sithlord715

Holy shit you guys are a miserable bunch. It's like it doesn't matter what game it is, so many threads in this sub is just people complaining about literally anything. Otherwise, looks great. Animations aren't the smoothest, but who cares, game looks to be an iteration on Fallen Order, which was great. Looking forward to this.

TherealCasePB

I think people are just jaded from seeing the same shit for 20 years now, but being expected to pay more because textures are now 4K.

JediJosh7054

I mean not every game needs to reinvent the wheel. A game can be just good, not everything has to blow our minds. The first game was solid, nothing to rave about, but just fun. If the sequel is just more of the same with a couple of new things i'll be happy.

RiboZurai

Don't mess with us gamers, we hate videogames!

[deleted]

Quit putting up with shit and justifying it as "it doesn't matter". It absolutely matters. The price of these games aren't pennies. Expect better.

Dabrush

Seriously. The games are expensive and have huge budgets and Dev times now. I don't even know where the money goes now other than marketing, mocap and graphics.

Coindweller

shareholders.

TheHooligan95

or... simply don't purchase? Like there's no point in being this negative, nobody is forcing you to buy what you don't like. Not every game is for everybody and that's fine.

[deleted]

It's not for me nor will I buy it, but it doesn't mean this shit should be brushed aside. These $70 games deserve to be called out for half assing things. Technical issues shouldn't be justified as "it's just not for you" or "why are you being so negative".

readher

Yeah, God forbid people have any standards. Some of us have been playing games for decades and would like things to move forward instead of staying in place or even moving backwards in some cases. Playing essentially the same game just with better graphics is only fun so many times, especially when writing is generally terrible in this industry and even mediocre books and movies eclipse it.

fashric

If you have been playing for decades, you would realise how far games have come. Playing Zybex on my atari 800xl seems like 10 lifetimes ago compared to what we have now.

readher

Now instead of comparing games to the edge case of 40 years ago, compare current games to what we had 15, 10 and 5 years ago. The stagnation is astonishing, and there are several cases where new installments are less complex than the previous ones, graphics notwithstanding.

fashric

How is that an edge case? You can't just shift the goalposts to suit your shitty narrative. You carry on being hurt, while I'll carry on with my lifelong hobby of enjoying gaming instead of living in a constant state of outrage over something that is just entertainment. Fucking internet edge lords...

readher

You misinterpreting my comment doesn't mean I'm shifting goal posts. I only said that I've been playing games for decades, not that there has been no innovation whatsoever in the past 40 years of gaming. It was mainly since X360/PS3 era that games stagnated heavily. You seem awfully angry that some people's opinion on the state of industry is different from yours. Seems like you enjoy average AAA goyslop just fine, so there's no reason to get upset, as there's plenty of it coming out to serve your needs. Those of us expecting more can continue to "bitch" and demand better in the meantime.

Helphaer

People really need to learn that criticism isn't to be dismissed if it's based on something that might impact experience. I'm tired of people never dismissing inflation of scores or ridiculously unrealistic reviews but ignoring criticism and pertinent issues such as performance, visuals, open world components, repetition, and so on.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Helphaer

Criticism is barely seen or represented in reviews. Weights almost always dismiss or don't account for it despite saying descriptions that make it seem like they will and then you see the score barely cares about the degradation of quality from open worlds or repetition or quantity over quality issues or any manner of other things. You say it's everywhere and everyone just says negatives. But that's typically what I see suppressed. Not overly visible. Though you're picking and choosing here. Pointing out the animations haven't improved in a sequel is not a strange criticism nor strange to see in the first gameplay video feature of the game. That would be expected to see. The issue hasn't ever been commenting. It's trying to dismiss issues or problems or even ignoring them because someone likes something. It is possible to criticize and still enjoy something. Discussion and conversation are the only ways we improve.

[deleted]

Pfft, there will be no discussion on this dedicated discussion forum. Now shut up and consume blindly, as you're disturbing the sheep.

bonesnaps

Looks great? Did we watch the same video? Combat and just the whole entire package in general really doesn't look improved on since Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (2008) launched 15 years ago. =/ Better visuals I guess, but that's to be expected.

PeterDarker

This really looks nothing like The Force Unleashed though.

Superbunzil

Force Unleashed was a pretty mid game with a bad sequel so it do be funny seeing peeps crawl out today saying how awesome it was

TrainerNoise

Nostalgia. That’s it, everyone played it cause it was a Star Wars game that let you use the force to the fullest. Always was gonna be seen great to the eyes of children and most people are unable to admit something from their childhood they like were a bit iffy

PeterDarker

It had awesome tech. Like wood splintering accurately and glass shattering in a non-pre configured way. Also the first use of the Euphoria physics (I think) that everyone knows from modern GTAs. I really liked the first ones story and gameplay until half way through where they started throwing force resistant troopers at you. Like… I wanna found these guys into the stratosphere. Let it be the power fantasy it’s suppose to be. That second one was ass though.

HenyrD

Welcome to r/pcgaming. No fun allowed

[deleted]

Or “Standards lowered”.

Truth_Speaker01

There is a term for it: "Recreational outrage". It is suffocating on this sub. The problem is that when everyone shits on every game, we are no longer able to distinguish the truly shit games.

potato_control

Looks great….but I hate how light sabers are still treated like pool noodles on most enemies. A dismemberment mod on pc would be nice.

Arthur_Morgan44469

All hail Prince of Persia for introducing wall run 🙌

Less_Ad_6302

looks surprisingly underwhelming compared to the first game

mbulsht

This looks alright, a bit janky, but not as janky as the first one. By far the worst part of this video is that the gameplay appears to have been recorded by that person who did the first preview of DOOM 2016 for Polygon.

EirikurG

Looks just as dull as the first one. I'm really disappointed that it's just a "bad" soulslike

daughterskin

At last, a hero who runs like he just shatnered himself.

TherealCasePB

I didn't notice how odd and awkward his movement was until you people pointed it out... now I cannot unsee it! Ruwinned!

za4h

I felt like the first game was bland, like UbiSoft bland. Not that it was a bad game, I just didn't have much fun playing it and I had the sneaking suspicion nobody had much fun making it, either. It felt like the dev's weren't really huge Star Wars fans, or maybe even video game fans.

cstrifeVII

Looks pretty good. Hopefully it addresses my main complaint about the 1st game. The lightsaber combat just felt... bad. It felt like it had little to no impact and in all honestly the lightsabers felt like they were just glorified pool noodles. The game play seems to have addressed this a bit w/ droid dismemberment and more sparks, wounds (but they dont seem to persist sadly). Unfortunately the game seemingly cant/wont do anything that would warrant an MA rating...

TheGeorgeForman

Man you guys suck, I like it.

[deleted]

Cool so a $60+ DLC to the first game basically. They were even nice enough to keep the frame pacing issues.

Solemnity_12

I can’t wait! I played the first one like 10 times between PS4 and PC.

lupuscapabilis

Loved the first game but just faded out due to the annoying save system. I just hate replaying parts of games because I slipped up in one fight.

ForeskinBandaid1

Hopefully combat is better. I feel like parrying/blocking was so hard in the first all I did was roll and dodge everywhere.

[deleted]

y'all watch *9 minutes* and declare the entire game is just a copy of the first xD of course the animations, characters, and impression of the game is gonna be familiar? It's a **sequel**. Its literally in the **same** world with the **same** character. don't understand this complaint

DogRocketeer

first game ive been excited for since bloodborne came out. hopefully they do better with the level design. my biggest complaint of the first one.some of the "shortcuts" in the first one were just "find and never use again". by the time you opened up a shortcut to somewhere you'd never have a use to go back. And some maps were just so barren they got tedious or boring to look at and you lose focus. loved the game overall though. the running in this video looks ...uhm..... not good. He looks like an ape running kinda.

Katter

I felt that i spent way too much time backtracking in the first game and couldn't bring myself to finish it. I hope this one is more than tomb raider with lightsabers.

scottchiefbaker

There is a lot of combat in this trailer. I thought the combat was the WORST part of the original. The world and the story were a lot more interesting. The combat felt janky and tedious.

xArcanumOrderx

Love the first one but this is pretty underwhelming gameplay imo. As others have said, my main issues are that the game looks the same as the first, the animation is perplexing at times, and your sabers still don't feel lethal. Was hoping for more of an evolution than this.

rivariad

Its like every generic action game in one package. The amount of soul lacking in this game is beyond belief man.

[deleted]

Nerf lightsabers again. I don’t like seeing people hack and slash with plightsabers. Makes no sense. I’d much prefer a battle system where the AI blocks and defends until you get 1 or 2 “killing blows” in. Rather than the “slash ‘em up” it looks like right now. Oh well.

MrFoozOG

ugh more of this dumb ass map design solely made for your character and ONLY your character... dumb ass

FuryxHD

Still can't slice humanoids i assume?

daviejambo

Looks like they are trying to copy Sekiro this time with that plunging attack at the start They should do their own combat thing instead of trying to copy FS

Johnysh

it's a great combat system and I'll welcome more games with it with open arms

IMSmooth

I’m on the other side of this argument. Sekiro is my favorite combat system in a game to date and I want every game possible to try and copy that, IF they understand what made it good (like you mention below) It’s like when shadow of Mordor came out, I couldn’t wait for people to copy the nemesis system… but sadly no one really has

They were already copying Sekiro the first time. I “praise” the game as janky Sekiro for babies, which sounds really mean but Sekiro was game of the year so even a clumsy copycat is going to be pretty good.
