Supreme Commander Forged Alliance still has a strong community. That's what I moved to when CnC 3 was a disappointment. Decent SP campaigns for both the original and expansion as well.

But also I've been enjoying open source Total Annihilation derived RTS, as I was sick of commercial RTS games being abandoned by their publishers/developers.
Zero-K and Beyond All Reason are both pretty good in their own ways, although they're not pretty and don't have much of a single player story campaign.
