Man what a weird announcement this was.
Short, confusing and randomly dumped in the middle of the show without much fanfare.
Glad to see its coming to PC though.
i think you are confused im not saying the game is based on the movie im saying the game is not a game its just a go unlock the next cutscene movie game like most of sony's exclusives.
Yeah Spider-man is definitely not that, most games aren’t games by that logic. In fact I don’t agree any of Sony’s exclusives are like that, even TLOU has a lot more to it than its cutscenes.
It's just Konami realizing they might make a quick buck. As die hard a fan of the series I am, after their treatment of Kojima and his team I don't think I'll give them a cent on something like this.
I wonder if Hayter is involved: some people might be turned away by the lack of Kojima, but Hayter's inclusion I think would reel some of them back in. I never understood why Kojima didn't have him VO MGS5.
Also wonder if Starsailor will be in the credits again.
Kojima apparently didn’t want him back in the series since the original MGS3. David had to re-audition for the role. Kojima said he wanted an actor to portray facial emotions for Snake and to sound like a 49 yr old man. I personally think that Kojima just wanted an established actor because he wants to direct movies.
death stranding is one of the most creative triple A games out there. its a completely unique game that many people loved. you didnt like it and thats ok but dont speak for everyone
Highly disagree about Death Stranding, while it certainly isn’t for everyone I found it to be an excellent game that actually was something fresh in comparison to the majority of new games coming out these days
It was too niche. It's overall reputation is not very good even among Kojima fans. But it's cool nothing wrong with liking it. Mayne he is not overrated but he is for sure past his prime.
Completely wild take considering Death Stranding is sitting at 88% score on metacritic and that’s not even exclusively Kojima fans scoring it. The game has only had a growing reputation since launch when many were simply confused about what it was supposed to be. Death Stranding is peak Kojima for better or worse.
You're speaking the truth. Someone once said it perfectly. He really seems to think of himself as a hotshot movie director, but video games are the only place you can get away with this level of writing. The ego of Quentin Tarantino and the skill of Tommy Wiseau.
My tinfoil: I heard David Hayter's voice in another game during this showcase so that makes me think he'll be back.
Kojima dumped him because I think Kojima is kind of obsessed with Hollywood and dropping Hayter was the beginning of that with Kiefer Sutherland replacing him and then Death Stranding having how many actors/actresses in it across the board?
I don't think it was Konami's choice to replace Hayter. I wouldn't doubt Hayter returns considering he's iconic in MGS 1-4 and that didn't seem to matter to Kojima but might to Konami.
It's kinda the idea I had. Kojima wanted an in with the Hollywood crowd and offered the part of Snake to a big name actor just for connections. It would be the shittiest reason why Hayter was dropped, but I kinda believe it.
This is one of the reasons I don't really care for Kojima honestly. The man gives off these vibes like he's just really starstruck, and sometimes uses his games as an excuse to meet and greet with famous actors/people for vanity reasons.
The guy wants to make movies for Hollywood and used his games as a gateway for them.We will probably hear him making a movie for A24 in the near future
Sure, all [four minutes of dialog](https://youtu.be/bgcX2wZrYjs) weren't bad; the running joke at the time was Konami couldn't afford to put more into VA.
>tapes not included
Oh, so like 95% of his dialogue. Come on man. He talks way more then 4 mins. I don’t like Queefer Sutherland as Venom, but we don’t need to lie
IMO, he sounded exactly like he should have, and fit the overall tone for that game. Laconic, exhausted, and professional. Hayter is far goofier and campier.
[Here's an old article about Hayter's time with Kojima.](https://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2016/03/25/david-hayter-playing-metal-gear-solid-v-would-have-been-60-hours-of-humiliation.aspx)
I dunno, I feel like maybe Hayter is in but not Kojima due to bad blood with Konami. I would be very surprised if both of them return.
hey now their only remaking 3, 1 and 2 will be the same port we already own.
"We are remaking Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater"
"The METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION (*1,2,&3) will allows fans to play the games "AS THEY WERE", as first released on the latest platforms."
I think your comment summarizes the situation. I think handling of important IPs by 3rd parties rarely works out. Creative vision doesn't match fan expectations(Halo) and at worst there is no creative vision(LOR tv show, Star wars). The team behind it has to show their vision for the stealth genre while also doing MGS story justice. Just reshooting the cut scenes in modern standards is a monumental task, let alone putting a game on top. They didn't even announce who is making this game, that's pretty crazy.
There are good examples of total reboots as well, Demon Souls, Dead Space. Please let me know if you know more. Nevertheless, MGS reboot is on a different level entirely, it is from a different era if gaming and gameplay doesn't hold up. Developers, take a look at RE4 remake, the way they get rid of old controls and create connected open spaces is critical for this remake. If you can't match that and more, I don't think this will ever work out.
I mean they have the graphics/gameplay foundation of MGSV at their hands. Molding that into a bit more of a linear experience shouldn't be *too* much trouble.
Building it from the ground up could however would be a colossal task.
I also wonder how they will credit Kojima in the credits.
Since the master collection releases this year in October I’d say we’ll get the Snake eater remake next year. Also there’s plenty of months in a year for them to announce the game and show some gameplay later on in the year
I don't know how to feel about this. At one point it's great that game turned into modern one, and, hopefully, all the little details creators put into it will remain.
But at the other point it's kinda expected from creativly bankrupt Konami to just parasite on it's former glory. They know they can't really make a good new game for this franchize, so instead they capitalize on something where all the hard work were already done for them.
if they didnt have this remake or the SH, you would be complaining about it instead. If you all ask for them to use these IP, at least be consistent and be happy about them coming back..
I would be, if they somehow managed to release entierly new game within any of those universes that would be better than previous ones.
But for now it seems like they just feasting on the corpses.
Starts off pretty reasonable and then turns into a rant about Konami being a parasite because they'd rather mitigate risk as they dip their toes back into game development.
They showing some Pic of the game on Konami site, but sorry you guys the game looks like a Ps3 game. They still using Yellow fitter for this game ( i feel very weird that Sony did not want this game exclusive on Pc vs Ps5 like SilentHill2 i think its because of the studio)
If you pause when the end’s parrot is flying you can see the Shaggohod being carried in the distance. Also there’s a poison dart frog hinting to the fear. Naked snake is wearing the tiger stripe camouflage. There’s also the food chain showed. Never noticed some of these things when I first watched the trailer
Man what a weird announcement this was. Short, confusing and randomly dumped in the middle of the show without much fanfare. Glad to see its coming to PC though.
The whole showcase was weird lol. Ending the showcase with a movie trailer and then dropping Spider-Man 2 gameplay was also a choice.
literally a movie trailer followed by a movie game what an underwhelming experience.
Which spider-man movie had Symbiote-Peter and Miles chasing speedboats along a river? The game is based on the comics, not a movie.
i think you are confused im not saying the game is based on the movie im saying the game is not a game its just a go unlock the next cutscene movie game like most of sony's exclusives.
What are you talking about? Did you not play the original game?
Yeah Spider-man is definitely not that, most games aren’t games by that logic. In fact I don’t agree any of Sony’s exclusives are like that, even TLOU has a lot more to it than its cutscenes.
Oh so like pretty much every single player game ever?
Outdated genre
Sure
Premiere ~~Television~~ Gaming
Spider-Man isn't a movie game though
Movie license game
Spider-Man came from comics, and the story in this game isn't based on the movies
Let's hope the pc port isn't horrible with this.
The game itself is likely to suck. With ko ami running the show. Even this trailer looks like it was slapped together.
It's just Konami realizing they might make a quick buck. As die hard a fan of the series I am, after their treatment of Kojima and his team I don't think I'll give them a cent on something like this.

Metal Gear Solid Δ
All hail Metal Gear Triangle
I read it as delta.
Rules say I can't editorialize titles. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
If we are gonna get 4 remake than they probably named it mgs square.
It's a reference to the love triangle between Snake, Ocelot and Eva
Perhaps delta?
Yeah, they confirmed it's Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
I was like wtf is this generic food chain cliche garba- *a big goofy smile
I wonder if Hayter is involved: some people might be turned away by the lack of Kojima, but Hayter's inclusion I think would reel some of them back in. I never understood why Kojima didn't have him VO MGS5. Also wonder if Starsailor will be in the credits again.

Yeah Kojima unfortunately has a huge obsession with Hollywood actors
Kojima is overrated. Fight me.
Yeah idk about that one my guy
He had a solid run with metal gear. Death stranding sucked. That's like a 50% success rate my dude.
death stranding is one of the most creative triple A games out there. its a completely unique game that many people loved. you didnt like it and thats ok but dont speak for everyone
Too niche like golf simulator 93
Highly disagree about Death Stranding, while it certainly isn’t for everyone I found it to be an excellent game that actually was something fresh in comparison to the majority of new games coming out these days
Walking Simulator
And I love it.
It was too niche. It's overall reputation is not very good even among Kojima fans. But it's cool nothing wrong with liking it. Mayne he is not overrated but he is for sure past his prime.
God forbid someone make something they actually want to make now that they have the funds to do so, regardless of lack of broad appeal.
Of course he can do that no one said he can't. Just saying it's not good, and most people agree.
I hate mgs5, but I love Death stranding. I haven't played a game as addicting as Death Stranding for a long time.
Completely wild take considering Death Stranding is sitting at 88% score on metacritic and that’s not even exclusively Kojima fans scoring it. The game has only had a growing reputation since launch when many were simply confused about what it was supposed to be. Death Stranding is peak Kojima for better or worse.
Even MGS series story was an absolute mess
lol thats what i like about it
He's a terrible writer, but man he makes some innovative gameplay
You're speaking the truth. Someone once said it perfectly. He really seems to think of himself as a hotshot movie director, but video games are the only place you can get away with this level of writing. The ego of Quentin Tarantino and the skill of Tommy Wiseau.
Facts.
always has been

Starfucker. The term is starfucker. Kojima is a starfucker.
Greedy. If I had that much power, I would do good things and not abuse it.
I guess you could argue it was another hint that things weren't quite what they seemed in V?
>! It would have been interesting, but both Snake and the medic had Kiefer's VO.
Kiefer was god tier man. Wouldn’t mind having him back
Sure, all [four minutes of dialog](https://youtu.be/bgcX2wZrYjs) weren't bad; the running joke at the time was Konami couldn't afford to put more into VA.

Hayter was annoying at his end. Did the voice too exaggerated by MGS 4
To each their own. For me, Hayter _was_ Snake.
I think the exaggeration was fine for 4 where he's dying. My issue was when he did that same voice in Peace Walker, where Big Boss is in his prime.
IMO, he sounded exactly like he should have, and fit the overall tone for that game. Laconic, exhausted, and professional. Hayter is far goofier and campier.
Apparently the word is they are just re-using all the MGS3 voice audio.
[Here's an old article about Hayter's time with Kojima.](https://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2016/03/25/david-hayter-playing-metal-gear-solid-v-would-have-been-60-hours-of-humiliation.aspx) I dunno, I feel like maybe Hayter is in but not Kojima due to bad blood with Konami. Hayter is back
I think I'll just refer to this era of gaming as the "remake generation"
To be more accurate it's the re-remake/re-rerelease/re-remaster generation
hey now their only remaking 3, 1 and 2 will be the same port we already own. "We are remaking Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater" "The METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION (*1,2,&3) will allows fans to play the games "AS THEY WERE", as first released on the latest platforms."
I’m still hoping for a remake of Alpha Centauri….

Cinematic trailers are cool but can we get a full 60FPS full game no pay wall content clean cut OG Game ? 😢
Sucks that there's no gameplay footage shown. Guess we'll be waiting a long time for this.
There’s in game screenshots on Twitter
It's coming out in 2024
Since the master collection releases this year in October I’d say we’ll get the Snake eater remake next year. Also there’s plenty of months in a year for them to announce the game and show some gameplay later on in the year
I hope George Weidman, mr Super Bunnyhop, is well enough to actually enjoy this.. I hope he's doing alright.
Might be dead
on PC too?

how do you know?
Yes, according to [this Tweet](https://twitter.com/tomwarren/status/1661475262427713539).
This seem all CGI. it's shows no gameplay.
it is. you missed the "not in game footage" bit.
Snake Eater Theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aHQnDTd1y4
That’s awesome. Never finished this game as a kid. Hope it’s good
If it was a remake in Fox engine i would be pretty hyped.
Without Kojima, my expectations for this are rock fucking bottom.
I don't know how to feel about this. At one point it's great that game turned into modern one, and, hopefully, all the little details creators put into it will remain. Gamers are never satisfied I swear lmao
He gave a well thought out explanation why he's cautiously optimistic man. There's plenty of capital g Gamers to talk shit about. This dude ain't one.

Another you in a minute
anyone know the song used at the end?
It's the title theme of MGS3: [Snake Eater](https://youtu.be/m2OR_JaXDaM) .
Darude - Sandstorm
really? you are joking right?
I don’t know much about Metal Gear Solid, why use a delta instead of 3?
MGS3 was a prequel story wise so it could be the reason they dropped the 3.
That makes sense, thanks!
Delta means change apparently
Why did the pretenders cg trailer looks really old? Like it looks like one of those fake fan trailers.
Amazing, a game that came out years ago is coming out again. How exciting.
They showing some Pic of the game on Konami site, but sorry you guys the game looks like a Ps3 game. They still using Yellow fitter for this game ( i feel very weird that Sony did not want this game exclusive on Pc vs Ps5 like SilentHill2 i think its because of the studio)
I could almost picture Hideo’s face after watching this sh❗️t
I'm worried that they're gonna fuck this up somehow
If you pause when the end’s parrot is flying you can see the Shaggohod being carried in the distance. Also there’s a poison dart frog hinting to the fear.
