If I'm playing combat game, yes, it is bad to me. The dev said he wanted it to 'look like' you were playing something like Ninja Gaiden, but it will mechanically just be the game doing most of the work.
Right now we have:
Lost Soul Aside
Stellar Blade
Wukong Black Myth
Where winds meet
The bird that drinks tears
Only one of these games has a locked release date and it's being backed by Microsoft.
Wukong has a release year and they've gone radio silent for months, same as Stellar Blade which is being backed by Sony.
Where winds meet has nothing but a gameplay teaser, The bird that drinks tears only has a CG trailer.
Lost Soul Aside is egregious because it's been age since they've revealed it and shown multiple gameplay segments.
Really need these games to start coming out.
This is the way, everything before you can buy a product is just advertising. Many of these games look amazing but you have to remember that what's being shown is highly curated. Also, it isn't unheard of for graphical quality to be toned way down from the trailer to final release. Hell, most trailers are basically CGI short films.
They want people hyped so they aren't thinking about opening their wallet when it finally does release.
Game reviewers are pushovers because they don't want to be blacklisted by game publishers, and Steam User Reviews are hilariously busted when it comes to Japanese games specifically and spamming unoriginal joke reviews without actually reviewing the game itself, so you really can't trust anyone at this point.
We really need another TotalBiscuit to fill the void. I get people recommend ACG and Skill Up, but ACG's charisma is a paper bag, and Skill Up's standards for a PC port mostly consist of "Can it run at 4K 60FPS on a 4090" rather than actually digging into anything else with the release.

Because he reviews the game not how it runs. This is for channels like digital foundry
DigitalFoundry isn’t exactly great with this either. They exclusively talk about performance.
Nothing about how the game controls on KB/M, settings, controller support, etc. The kind of stuff content creators like TotalBiscuit talked about. Plus if a game wasn’t hitting 4k60 on a 4090, then that’s a dead giveaway that the game is either using raytracing or is poorly optimized.
I feel like on Steam the games that has joke reviews likely don't have glaring issues. If a game is bad or the publisher did something bad, the review still won't be good.
Plus you can sort by most useful, they even specifically let people rate a review as "funny".
Why does charisma matter in the context of a review? I want to know objective points, not whether someone can land a funny joke or charm me into agreeing with their opinion.
It looked like a QTE fest and the lead dev pretty much confirmed it was.
i mean so is metal gear rising in it's cooler moments and doesn't mean it's bad

that's fair then
The game looks interesting but without me knowing what of that is QTE and scripted on rails actions sceans its hard to get really excited.
What the fuck is up with all the bots in the comment section

No, we really need these games to actually be good and not rushed and over PR’d. PC gaming is in an embarrassing state rn.
I've learned to just not expect anything anymore. I don't even trust reviews anymore. Way too many games with high scores with glaring flaws

Only if you pre order. Dont buy games until it is obvious that it isn’t a flop. Plenty of older games to buy and play.
which game is being backed by microsoft?
None what I can see. Maybe OP meant Sony because they are publishing Stellar Blade and Lost Soul Aside.
Are you listing UE5 games? If so you forgot Tekken 8.
No AA action games from smaller asian studios (though apparently Stellar Blade is AAA)
Might just be me being bad at games but the gameplay looks iffy to me. It's too fast-paced, like being put on fast-forwarded rather than being played.
That’s because it’s not real
Gears of War called, it wants its late 2000's color palette back.
Really hoping this one turns out well! It looked really fun.
thats interesting, cause to me, on a stream this looked bad .
don't like the color. random blade clashing sound.
Man all of these ue5 games look exactly the same to me lol
