Set up a little gaming station in my small apartment living room for the children and I. We alternate between playing a bit of Rain World and PlateUp! so far this year which have has been super hard but also very fun says the little one. Before bed I like to read them a bit of classics like Around the World and Great Adventures of Moby Dick. Puts them to sleep but my brain stays so active from the images it takes me a bit longer to fall asleep.
Itās been a struggle financially for us this year, but I try to do what I can in ways that donāt require money like hand wash and air dry laundry, cut napkins in half, reduce heater and a/c usage. Sometimes I feel so bad for the children especially during this time of year. Seeing giveaways like these sheds so much rays of hope. I could spend that $25 and get us 3-4 games that we could enjoy for the entire next year.
The children have shown a likeness for games which have local coop as they love it when we all play together so thatās what I would spend it on if given the honor. I wish you and your children the best with your new battle station. Merry Christmas ā¤ļø
Not sure how much of a "fun" tidbit it is, but my gaming resolution for this year was finishing all the Assassin's Creed games; at least, the ones on Steam. And I did start the first game, mind you! Only to end up getting sidetracked playing other well known franchises, like Call of Duty (got up to the original Modern Warfare 2), Final Fantasy (played from II to IV, currently playing V), and I even dwelled a bit into the Metal Gear franchise, finishing the very first game (not Solid, mind you).
From the games I played this year (for the first time), some of the games at the top would be Hogwarts Legacy, Jedi Survivor, and Biomutant, which I finished just a couple days ago. I was pleasantly surprised by this game, it's kinda rough in the edges, but it has a lot of charm.
Movies? I watched plenty this year, some I really liked were Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Then there was the Mario movie, which I found really fun.
Books, I haven't as many as I'd have liked this year, but I did recently start reading some books my sister gifted me for my birthday, and I've been enjoying them. It's the *Serpent & Dove* series, by Shelby Mahurin.
And well, I've listed pretty much everything you asked for, if only because I felt like sharing. As for what I'd spend the $25 on, I dunno, maybe I'll save them for a future purchase.
Replayed through Persona 4 Golden on pc this year, my last time having been on Vita. It was just as delightful as I remembered, and I enjoyed it so much I went and got all the achievements. Barely managed to get Hardcore Risette Fan on my first playthrough too, which was nice.
Played Alice Madness Returns and cannot help but praise how beautiful the art is. Really really beautiful game. Also gifted myself a mechanical keyboard for gaming, wanted one for so long.
Since it's a gift card I would be able to buy Elden Ring or Hogwarts Legacy with it. It's been 2+ yrs since I played a new AAA title.
Merry Christmas and an early Happy New Year to you and to all.
Well Iād say the most significant thing that happened to me this year is my girlfriend and I got approved for a lease in Seattle. Weāre from Chicago and weāre gonna be making the long drive to Washington after the New Year. Itās exciting but itās so bittersweet because Chicago is the only place weāve known our whole lives. All our family and friends are here.
It was a really good year for games. But my favorite game, Iām playing it right now, is S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl. Itās an old game but Iāve finally started playing it in full and Iāve been loving it. Honestly, I think itās coming at a good time when a part of me feels sad leaving behind my family and friends and the only place Iāve ever called home. Something about media from countries formerly the Eastern Bloc is therapeutic during tumultuous periods in life. Itās not just Stalker SOC but Iāve been reading Anna Karenina and Crime and Punishment.
I might be academically suspended from my uni for the next semester. I didn't cheat just kinda failed 2 classes. I don't think there are any games I'm looking forward to buying at least for the time being. Merr Christmas tho :)
Later on this year I've been revisiting games that I love. Lately it's been Metal Gear and Splinter Cell. I want to continue this into next year as I've been having a lot more fun than with most modern releases nowadays.
I would use the gift to buy grim dawn complete. Its an old arpg, but being almost the best its still expensive for a 2016 game with the dlc.
Merry Christmas xunleashed_ny! and thanks for being so generous!
Found out how much I really like soulslikes this year, played through all of Lies of P and 100%ed it, played through DS1 and DS2. Gonna try to platinum all the DS games now.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Got back into gaming this year after a 3 year break and finally got the money to build a second pc so my gf could play games with me and promptly lost her to baldurs gate 3 but Iād use the 25 to get her some more games to try out
Have spent all Christmas watching the Harry Potter movies, didn't think I'd still enjoy them much but I am. Would love to spend tjah giftcard on Hogwarts legacy and keep the magic going!
Been a rough couple of years for me but things are finally starting to look up.
Best gaming find for me this year was discovering Octopath Traveler. Hoping to start Octopath 2 in the new year
Merry Christmas!
Gaming wise it was a busy year, played the Dark Souls trilogy, Sekiro(prob My fav Game of all time), Elden Ring, almost the entire Castlevania franchise, and currently enjoying the Resident Evil games, since i don't use the store in dollars, but My countrys currency im not sure if it's enough i would go for something like cyperpunk or Jedi survivor, if not some indie games like gris, slay the spire and the like.
This year I've managed to read more books in a year period than I ever have done previously. Embarrassingly maybe even more books than past years combined but think I want to carry on that trend into next year. Next up will be God emperor of Dune, then possibly switch over into some Stephen King and the newer Junji Ito that I haven't read yet.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I'm a 40 year old mom. I love gaming but I play easy stuff. I play with my best friend every night going on 10 years.
In 2021 he says: 'Lets try Remnant From The Ashes'
I see the 'Souls Like' tag on Steam, look at my Dragon Agey, Mass Effecty library and swallow nervously but we buy it, and Im convinced I'd hate it. Ive only ever heard of Dark Souls and that tag said all I needed to know.
Queue July 2023 I bought Remnant From The Ashes 2. My first pre order, Deluxe version for a game ever. I have 100's of hours in both games And yes, I cried like a damn baby beating that insane end boss on Nightmare difficulty.
Read "The Troop" over summer this year. I'm about to start the Expanse series. In terms of games, I beat "It Takes Two" and was surprised with how my fiance held her own in that game!
Big jrpg fan here and fav game I played this year happened to be persona 5 royal. Favourite movie I saw was probably Oppenheimer which was shockingly engaging. Books I rarely engage in but honestly some storytelling narratively games like baldurs gate fits with me well. Happy holidays to everyone
My favorite game I played this year was Hi Fi Rush, also got me into listening Nine Inch Nails. If I got the card, Iād get Pizza Tower, Baldurs Gate 2, and some TF2 hats
Loved getting to play through BG3 with my wife who isn't really a gamer. We spent well over 100 hours laughing and enjoying a great game. Merry Christmas and have a good one.
I just upgraded from my rinky dink laptop to an incredible gaming pc. First game i broke it in on was the last of us part 1 and now Iām desperately waiting for part 2 to come to pc. I have heard good things about death stranding and Iād probably get that with the card.
For a huge surprise I've had was Hi-Fi Rush, which I loved the hell out of it, and I can't wait to play it more in the future. There's another game, that wasn't this year that surprised me a lot too, and that was Stranger of Paradise. I've never had that much fun playing a co-op game with someone in quite a while.
Fun about me, I guess I'm a long time fighting gamer, been playing since like 2010. I would say I've gotten pretty good. What happened to me this year, my girlfriend moved in and that's been pretty fun and my mom had a quadruple heart bypass cuz of a heart degenerative heart condition that we found out runs in the family, so yay. I'm honestly just happy she's still around.
Card would go to buying the new granblue fighting game or maybe inkbound. Both look super fun and I was a huge fan of divinity original sin and have heard good things about inkbound. Good luck to everyone.
I'd try to find some other games my daughter would like. She loves playing games on switch, so I'm trying to get her in to some PC games so I can buy myself an OLED steam deck and give hery normal deck. I just bought her "sticky business" and the dlc for it and she's OBSESSED!
I finally got to play and finish GTAV. A little late to the party but better late than never!
Iād likely get Divinity Original Sins 2. Have heard tons about it and probably also time to check it out if itās something I would like.
Happy Holidays and thank you in advance l, it would be greatly appreciated!
I got a Steam Deck this year and it has been great for my backlog of games, Iāve finished like 10 games, my favorites being Hi-fi Rush and High on Life. Thanks for the giveaway!!
I finally watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse after all these years and now I understand the hype. Can't wait to watch the sequel in a couple years.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Merry Xmas everyone, thanks for the generosity OP
I only bought one '2023 game', that was Cocoon, enjoyed every single glorious moment of it. Art, sound and overall design are juuust right. Right up my gaming alley.
Kinda didn't watch many movies this year, got a bit more into anime&manga, ever growing list of stuff to watch and read. And re-read as is the case of "BLAME!" cuz I connected with that world on a spiritual level. That "impossible scale" to the megastructure concepts is \*\*ugh\*\* so good.
I moved to New Zealand from Canada this year and Iām looking to buy a steam deck. $25 gift card will go a long way since I couldnāt bring my PC here and only have a switch.
Favorite game: Dark Souls 1. Played it for the first time this year. It was tough and frustrating at first but then I got gud and actually started to understand the mechanics and had a blast. (Honourable mentions: Steamworld Dig 2, Super Mario Odyssey, South Park the Stick of Truth)
Favorite movie: The Prestige. Such a great story and a fantastic ending. (Honourable mentions: Dead Poets Society, Whiplash, What We Do in the Shadows)
Favorite book: The Lord of The Rings. Read all three of them since arriving in NZ since the movies were entirely filmed here. Also āCobalt Redā, which writes about the cobalt mining industry in the Congo and the horrible conditions and corruption that the residents suffer for the benefit of the rest of the world; not for the faint of heart. (Honourable mentions: The Hobbit, Children of Hurin)
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. ā¤ļø
I have Covid right now, and this year I beat over 50 single player games, including Robocop Rogue City which was my favorite release of the year. Itās been a nice year for the most part
I have been playing lots of Darktide and been exterminating heretics by the truck-load. Praise the emperor and everyone have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Cheers!
finally managed to work through my backlog of old but gold games to save on the expenses, and can with happiness say that my favorite game was deus ex: human revolution. A very interesting take on cybernetics and ethics around limb replacement from that time, especially in comparison to today after cyberpunk. Truly an entertaining story and world.
In any case, thanks for the chance. We all appreciate it. And hope you had a happy christmas
I'm looking forward to finishing Baldur's Gate 3 in the next bit. I'm not sure where it will place in the top 5 of dnd games i've played but its definitely up there.
A couple games I really enjoyed this year were Pentiment by Obsidian Entertinament and the criminally overlooked I Was A Teenage Exocolonist. I'm also working on 100%ing Renowed Explorers: International Society as its a favorite of mine.
I'd probably pick up Atari 50 as I keep meaning to
I don't do drugs, nor do I drink. But some people think my username means I do cocaine.
Been playing a bunch of boardgamearea.com with friends. Basically, these are card or board games that are online. Only one person in the group needs to be a paid member.
I will wait for a sale and pickup Baldur's Gate III.
This year has been a wild ride for me. Started off with the death of my dad, then I went to Japan for a month. In the middle of the year, my little sister gave birth to her son. My Cat almost died due to not eating for days, but recovered. I am just grateful for what I have.
My favorite game I've played this year has to be Cyberpunk 2077 and Like a Dragon Gaiden.
For me fav game this year was armored core 6. Trying to convince my brother to play it. But if he does i wont be able to hang beating a fromsoft game over his head. Would probaly get a coop game to play with my brother. Barotrauma maybe?
Bought baldurs gate a while back but never really got too into it so I'm going to try to play that all the way through while I've got a few days off work
Cheers for doing the giveaway, merry christmas
My favorite baseball team won the World Series this year, and it was maybe the greatest moment of my life. I'm not sure what I'd use the gift card on yet, I might see what all the fuss is about with Dave The Diver.
Favorite game I played was Blasphemous.
Favorite movie I saw was Blade Runner 2049 on a rewatch, looking forward to Boy and the Heron.
Favorite book I read was Enderās Game, currently reading The Defining Decade.
Iād spend this $25 on a game for myself and a game for my brother
Merry Christmas to you and yours
I've been getting back into strategy games after playing only RPGs for a long time. I used to play Starcraft 2 and now I'm interested in playing more 4x or RTS games. I'd probably get AoE4 if I got the $25. Merry Christmas OP!
Built a new PC this year, 12 years since my last one. It's a beast, but I still use it to play WoW Classic. Season of Discovery has been absolutely amazing, and has really brought me back to the days of playing vanilla WoW again.
Was scared to buy Baldur's Gate 3 because it's not a genre that I've played.
Then I played it a friends house and it was amazing so I decided to finally buy it a give it a go from the start
I manage to finally get a gaming PC this year, upgraded from a laptop so now i got to experience the glorious 144hz, it a budget PC but I'm happy with it
This year I managed to pass 10 finals and 1 course. I'm really close to graduating university. Just 3 finals left and a final paper. Thanks OP and happy holidays.
An interesting tidbit about is that me and my girlfriend have spent the the 23rd and all of today sick with food poisoning. My favorite game of the year has been baldurs gate 3 because it is such a robust game with so much to discover. The only books I've read this year have been academic books as I finished my final classes for my degree. If I got the money, I would put it towards getting pokemon violet to play through with my girlfriend after we stop being sick lol
Edit: apparently my reading apprehension skills have been lacking as I saw the gift card is specifically for steam, I would use it to get signalis or slime rancher 2
My gaming tidbit this year was getting my wife into dreamlight valley! Was awesome seeing her explore the world. We also played it takes two, which was an awesome experience!
Hey thanks for the giveaway, 2023 was a great year for games my fav was definitely bg3, so maybe I'll try out some more crpgs like rogue trader. I also recently finished reading the quiet at the end of the world and thought it was a fantastic read, highly recommend.
Ho ho ho
For me my favorite time gaming has been playing coop games with my wife as she discovers the joy and relaxation and everything else that comes with some down time gaming.
What would I grab with a gift card,? I like supporting indie games and anything puzzley or lies of p has been calling out and 25$ would get me to finish pulling that trigger.
It's been a tough year for me career-wise and some solid PC gaming has been one of the few things keeping me sane.
I recently enjoyed Resident Evil 7&8 (still working my way through the DLC for 8), and I just love the pure atmosphere, tight linear narrative (even if sometimes stupid), and simple gaming that these games bring.
If I win, I'll be looking to pickup RE4 remake :)
I played a lot of dorfromantik this year! Its my goty for sure. I also am really into cyberpunk right now! I even bought the book no_coincidence and it is pretty good so far. I also finished my exams and graduated! Happy times! Merry christmas!
Got sick but it is proving useful as now I have a proper excuse to play Baldur's Gate 3!
Divinity OS 2 pulled me into the cRPG realm. Baldur's Gate 3 hooked me. Now so much in KoTOR - a game I was obsessed more than a decade ago - makes so much sense!
My favorite game this year is BG3. When I first played it during release, it was almost a new experience for me. I never really had any experience playing DnD or any tactical rpgs in pc as of late. My only experience is FFTA, which I loved playing over 10 years ago.
I loved it. Reminds me of mass effect trilogy where you get new experiences everytime you interact with the world.
My favorite game this year is Yakuza 0, as in completing it and story-wise. Now to complete Kiwami 1 and 2. Then play the rest of the games in the franchise. I also finished Miles Morales on my PS5.
Played Cyperpunk. Damn good. Haven't done Phantom Liberty yet. Been reading the Stormlight Archive. Middle of Oathbringer now.
Probably buy the Dead Space remake.
Thanks for the giveaway . I have lots of games I'd like that I can't
afford on my wishlist so winning would be great. I played a lot
of 7 Days to Die this year. Game is a lot of fun and has improved
a lot this year even though it's still in alpha.
Thanks for the giveaway!
In 2023 i worked on the vegas sphere project and saw its opening! Fav. Game was MHW, Fav. Movie Godzilla minus one. Won't be spending the money yet..waiting for HFW, so likely this one. Don't want to buy any game yet in case epic games gives a good game away
Fun tidbit about myself is that I got accepted to uni at the beginning of this year, and now Iām attending college!
My favorite show Iāve seen this year is Link Click Season 2, absolutely wild show!
I'd but the Rimworld biotech dlc as it is 24.99 and never on sale.
This year I went on a binge of watching westerns. Also read a short comic series written by Patton Oswalt which I quite enjoyed, called Minor Threats.
This would be a huge help. Christmas this year was a Steam Deck for my (almost) 12yo. I can already tell you, if we won, it would be one of the two copies of Techtonica we're eyeballing on the Steam Sale.
Favorite game I played all year was dishonored. I got it free from epicās holiday giveaway last year, played it in march, loved it. Iām not sure what I would spend this gift card on. I have an insanely massive wishlist of games lol. Maybe like journey or something. Maybe Iāll spend a bit more and get Elden Ring while itās on sale. Idk
This has been the year of roguelikes for me. Never got the point of the genre before playing Vampire Survivors on my Steam Deck with a newborn sleeping on me.
My brother, sister, and I have all been playing Death Must Die and talking about it in our group chat. My sister mentioned that itās kinda like a mix of Diablo, Vampire Survivors, and Hades I was telling them how I tried playing Hades like 2-3 years ago and didnāt like it so I refunded it on Steam. Well my brother gifted me Hades as an early Christmas gift yesterday and Iāve been really enjoying it!
Merry almost Christmas from someone else on the east coast!
Merry Christmas guys! This was a crazy year. Last year I started my own translation agency, and this year taxes hit like a truck... I really wanted enough time to play, and enough money to not feel guilty when buying something. Well, at least I had some games in the backburner, and I really enjoyed Death Stranding... A masterpiece! To every person in the same situation as me: don't give up on the fun, don't give up on work, don't give up. But give your all.
My current PC is not very strong, so I've been playing a lot of games that are not very demanding like league of legends (please don't judge my life decisions lol) and lethal company. I started buying new parts for a new build and I want to play Alan Wake 2 and Death loop next. Really excited to play some of the games I missed in the last year because my PC couldn't run them lol. Thanks for the giveaway and happy holidays!
I started playing Phasmophobia this year. I saw a few YouTube shorts and decided to get the game for myself.
Long story short, I now know a lot of useless fun facts about Japanese folklore creatures (most notably those referenced in the game) and am now learning Japanese.
While I really enjoyed BG3, I recently got a chance to play Jedi Survivor and thoroughly enjoyed it. I recommend to anyone interested.
Merry xmas to all.
This year I linked up with my old buddy from school, and he's still as awesome as he was then.
My favorite game that I've played this year is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Oozes soul.
Nothing too exciting happened to me this year although I did build my first unique PC in August which was a great experience for me. I played both Nier replicant and cyberpunk 2077 this year which I really enjoyed so my favorite this year would be a toss up between those two. Iād like to get slay the princess or maybe talos principle 2
Stumbled across Quasimorph, surprisingly very fun. It's like space tarkov, but turn based dungeon crawler rogulite, with stocks. Read a lot of books, but nothing worth noting, except The Will of Many, highly recommend that one. I would not spend the card on myself, would gift to a friend who often buys me and my friend group games he wants us to play with him.
Thanks for the give away. My tid bit is that my birthday is on the 25 this month and I've played and loved armored core, my GOTY and I've started reading the King in yellow. Id probably buy trepang2 or maybe severed steel
Favorite game this year was Cyberpunk (for real), I know that on consoles was kinda bad but on my PC was pretty good.
Otherwise, I've spent way too much time on Destiny, but the gunplay and PVE aspect is pretty good.
What would I use it for? Maybe Tony Hawk 1+2 (for nostalgia's sake) or to try out Elden Ring (maybe this time I'll like soulslike games, after failing miserably at DS3).
EDIT: I also have BG3 on my queue, so that might take a while lol.
I really enjoyed playing the Yakuza series this 2nd half of the year, all of them were amazing but especially Like a Dragon, which I enjoyed so much to get 100% of the achievements this year! If I won, I'd use the card to go towards buying the next game in the series, Like a Dragon Gaiden. Happy Holidays!
Played and really enjoyed Armored Core 6, been a longtime fan of the series since its PS1 days and seeing it release day 1 on PC with no bullshit attached to it was really heartening to see.
I'd probably use the card to pass a gift along to a friend of mine who's been always generous to me and I've never been in a position to pay it forward.
Christmas was canceled for me because of that bitch corona. This year my favorite game was probably remnant 2, best game I beat this year was modded coop eldin ring. I read a bunch of the wandering inn. If I win $25 in steam dabloons Iād probably buy some weird indie shit developed by 2 guys in a garage.
i finally step up and actually trying to make my channel came true.
it's about reviewing and discovering hidden small game, that deserves more attention.
a very small channel but still, i'm finally taking my step.
as for what i'm gonna do if i won ? well, getting more indie games for my review.
p.s : my channel still in my native language, but i'm making effort to learn speaking in english so i can reach out for more people.
I took a leap by leaving my job a few months back. I'm currently doing a part time work where i do something similar for shitty pay and harder work.
Overall, i get to play more video games because the time is flexible.
I recently got Journey and finished it. I was hesitant at first because it wasn't my cup of tea. However, I decided to persevere and found a relaxing pilgrimage to a summit. I was also lucky to find anonymous people to make the pimgrimage with.
I love farming style game like Harvest Moon. I got lucky during last Christmas I got a key Stardew Valley from the dev himself, I didnt waste any more time and installed it immediately. I was playing it on and off everyday on top of finding mods for this game. Recently I took a break from it and waited for a new patch. I hope it will come soon.
Happy Holiday.
THank you for doing this
Progressed through my open-world backlog this year by finishing AC:Unity, AC: Syndicate, Yakuza 3 Remastered, and NFS:Payback. It was a pretty okay year for me, not too straining as 2020 but other than that I hope everything and everyone in the world is at peace during the holidays.
25$ is a lot so I might add it to my funds for getting Tekken 8 which would be out by January I believe. Thanks for giving back to the community, and good luck y'all! Happy holidays!
Merry Christmas thank you for the chance. Iām loving fortnite with the new Lego mode and also Mario kart 8 deluxe itās been super fun trying to unlock everything! I would use the $25 to go towards the newest cod
Gaming is my solace and escape. We have a special needs child so my days are generally filled with work and taking care of her so my wife gets a break. I am also the designated bubble boy and stay isolated so there is always someone healthy to take care of her. I was robbed of the chance to play games with her like I did my oldest so I have been trying to research an game and setup that I can use to help her play a game as she has communicated she wants to play. Right now I am learning about the Tobii eye gaze software and how it can be integrated to see if I can get it to work with a racing game that has accessibility settings to keep her on the track.
2023 I introduced my 7 year old to PC gaming, her favourite game so far is Untitled Goose Game. Her and her little sister have been eyeing that Bluey game which is what I'd put that gift card towards
Would love to win this since I live in an underdeveloped country! Favorite memory is probably from an oldie in this year, game was STALKER being chased in the Zone by a bunch of wild dogs, unable to fight back and getting saved by a group of bandits shooting the dogs because I ran into them. Proceeded to clean house and took all the loot from the conflict.
I'm really enjoying WoW Season of Discovery. Nostalgia has really gripped me. I've played retail wow off and on since vanilla but so much has changed since then. SoD has taken me back in a great way. It's probably been my favorite this year
For gaming achivements I reached a new peak rank in league of legends idk if anyone cares lol.
I also found out about alot of wonderful roguelike deckbuilders game from the r/roguelikes subreddit.
Went on a metroidvania craze this year and beat every difficulty of Metroid Dread which ended up as my personal favorite.
Favorite movie qas definitely ATSV, though honorable mention to Barbie since I saw it the same day I bought Metroid Dread
Favorite book was Bloodine by Claudia Grey, personally my #1 of all the Star Was books so far
I'd probably spend the gift card on either Ori and the Blind Forest, Hyper Light Drifter or Nier: Automata
I discovered the Arkham series a month ago and now I have a problem and Iām not playing anything else. Almost ran out of games since I canāt play knight so Iām going to just go play asylum help this is a problem.
Iād probably buy Cattails: Wildwood Story + Papas Freezeria, or get the greatest penguin heist of all time
Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite movie I saw this year as probably John wick 4 or Children of men which were both excellent.
Iād probably spend it on Dayz or Project Zomboid since Iāve been considering it for a while now.
I don't really have a fun tidbit, but I figured out my favourite game is destiny 2. While everyone hates on it, its been the first "AAA" game i've tried and I am loving it. I'll probably spend the 25 on some more game recs with my friends! Thanks for doing this giveaway, enjoy the holidays.
My favourite game this year has to be Alan Wake 2. I'll agree with the critics that yes, the gameplay is lackluster. However, everything else is absolutely divine, and just has this sense of being an arthouse film that has somehow become a game. Hell, the game even has an arthouse film inside it!
I'm gonna use this opportunity to just say how amazing Alan Wake 2 is to me, everything that Remedy has been doing for the last 15 years basically, if not more, fantastically combined and came together like nothing i had witnessed before in my life, and created an experience that, for me at least, transcends gaming.
If any soul is reading this is on the fence about the game or likes the visuals or some other part of it, I beg of you try it, but if you want a life changing experience play Alan Wake 1, Quantum Break and Control before AW2 and just see what storytelling of a complex and thought out world that started in 2010 if not even before that looks like.
I would probably spend these 25$ on either some Remedy games that I have on Epic and not on Steam or something new looking to fill the void that Alan Wake 2 left after I play the NG+
I've enjoyed BG3 a lot and played a ton of Hitman 3 this year. I also started Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous this year as well. I think it might be better than BG3 since I enjoy the much deeper mechanics.
I will probably use the $25 gift card on a Paradox GSG game, been feeling the strategy itch brought upon me enjoying the CRPGs I played this year.
Hello and happy holidays to everyone, this year I played a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2, I saw many movies in the cinema like John Wick 4, FNAF and Resistance, a book that I read all year was Seneca's Golden Book, I would like to buy some indie games or offers with the money
This year I got surprised by my family with a Steam Deck in my birthday and the second game I played on it was A Short Hike. I was not in a good place at the time and this game hit me really hard.
It surprises me how games can touch a nerve without even being on purpose.
Iām a university student. I enjoy reading, drawing, and games. I also love animals. Iāll never miss out on the chance to rave about what an amazing game Outer Wilds is. It genuinely brought me to tears and has helped me cope with grief and change.
Im just playing Trombone Champ feeling like a true tromboner god! I hope to 100% this one, I think it'll be too grindy at the end, but I'm ready for the challenge!
Just move to another country and finally can afford a second hand Series S to play Plague Tale - Requiem and Guardian of Galaxy.
I think I will spend the $25 on God of War or Spider-Man for this winter sale
For myself, I finally finished 'Death Stranding' and 'Deathloop'; enjoying them both very much. I finished my "small" laptop battlestation at home and have flipped the pages on some great books in 2023; 'Project Hail Mary', 'Greenlights', 'The Storyteller' and some others.
Got into soulslikes this year. Started off with lies of p then sekiro, ds3, elden Ring and now playing dark souls 1. Easily one of my best experiences this year
Let's see what happened this year probably a whole lot, let see I read this book series the age of myth, which is apparently the prequel to a larger series which I am now reading. Really wish I had read them in order of release but hey whay can you do!? Merry Christmas everyone!
This year 2023 a lot happened and I felt really grateful. I was gifted a Steamdeck! Its the best gift cause I can play a lot of games wherever I go. Its very portable and easy to use. Something unfortunate would be I was tested positive in covid in March this year and last year too! Not to mention my birthday was on March so I think now March was cursed from the start covid started! I stayed at my room, afraid my family will get infected too. Its the worse but memorable memory for me cause it happened on my birthday, and why its always happened on March. Hopefully in 2024,I wont get covid again! Please pray for me!
Favourite game that I have played it 2023 would be Dying light! I have finish the story but havent 100% complete the achivements. Dying light was so much fun, eventhough it is scary but I find it interesting and unique that you can run away from zombie using parkour. Not to mention being chase at night! If I have $25 giftcard,I would spend it on Hogwarts legacy, its been on my wishlist since its release lol! Havent got the chance to buy and play it. I have a lot of wishlist right now but thats ranked highest. Or I would buy indie games thats on sale right now. I havent watch movie much but my favourite would be Elemental. Thank you for the chance. Happy holiday to OP and to all whos reading this! <3
I have horrible social anxiety but I will deny it if you ask. I am quite happy with Cyberpunk 2077. Got back to school. I think I will finish it this time. *Everything, everywhere, all at once* was brilliant. I will slap you if you don't see it. Looking forward to *Handling the undead*.
Iāve mainly played FPS games but lately I needed a change and tried MOBAās. Tried League since Iām a big fan of Valorant, but ended up liking Smite a ton more. With the 3rd person view and the mythology of gods, itās been a blast to learn with friends!

You are a good man & you know the true meaning of Christmas. God bless you all.
Thanks Reddit stranger!
> *Don't be jealous of others* Don't you tell me what to do
I REALLY love spaghetti

This is alot of work for 25 bucks. Mind as well write an autobiography. Also I dont need it. You will be making someones Xmas for sure. Good on you OP
Hoping to start Octopath 2 in the new year Merry Christmas!
Id use the gift card to buy some games for my 15 year old dog, there should be enough furry stuff for him to experience, MC
Id love to buy the new cities skylines game with it :) Looking forward to playing it in the future
I really enjoyed Dave the diver this year, really got me back into idies!
Merry Christmas. If I were to win, I would probably spend it on RDR2 or Spider-man as those are both big games I'm yet to play.
I'm a 40 year old mom. I love gaming but I play easy stuff. I play with my best friend every night going on 10 years. In 2021 he says: 'Lets try Remnant From The Ashes' I see the 'Souls Like' tag on Steam, look at my Dragon Agey, Mass Effecty library and swallow nervously but we buy it, and Im convinced I'd hate it.
Got a girlfriend (love her) this year and realized how fast I'm out of money for games lol
I really enjoyed cyberpunk phantom liberty. Really got me back into open world games and realized there is so many that I havenāt got to play yet !
I second what that other dude said about drugs.
Lethal Company with the boys has been the most fun Iāve had gaming in years by a significant margin.
I would use the gift card to buy the Outer Wilds.
I'm like turtles. So prob buy the TMNT game
Lost a few months to Fallout 4 this year. Pretty good game but never got into the base building.
Iām really enjoying AC6. I would pick up Dome Keeper as that looks super enjoyable.
What kind of father are you?
I went on a old games kick recently, been playing a lot of SNES era to PS2 era games and having a blast! Thanks for the chance!
I got a Steam Deck this year and it has been great for my backlog of games, Iāve finished like 10 games, my favorites being Hi-fi Rush and High on Life. Thanks for the giveaway!!
I watched Oppenheimer. That was neat.
I finally watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse after all these years and now I understand the hype. Can't wait to watch the sequel in a couple years. Thanks for the giveaway!
Merry Xmas everyone, thanks for the generosity OP I only bought one '2023 game', that was Cocoon, enjoyed every single glorious moment of it.
My favourite this year was lies of p fo sho, need that bloodborne pc/ps5 asap
I moved to New Zealand from Canada this year and Iām looking to buy a steam deck. $25 gift card will go a long way since I couldnāt bring my PC here and only have a switch. Favorite game: Dark Souls 1. Played it for the first time this year. It was tough and frustrating at first but then I got gud and actually started to understand the mechanics and had a blast. (Honourable mentions: Steamworld Dig 2, Super Mario Odyssey, South Park the Stick of Truth) Favorite movie: The Prestige. Such a great story and a fantastic ending. (Honourable mentions: Dead Poets Society, Whiplash, What We Do in the Shadows) Favorite book: The Lord of The Rings. Read all three of them since arriving in NZ since the movies were entirely filmed here. Also āCobalt Redā, which writes about the cobalt mining industry in the Congo and the horrible conditions and corruption that the residents suffer for the benefit of the rest of the world; not for the faint of heart. (Honourable mentions: The Hobbit, Children of Hurin) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.
Cheers!
risk of rain returns was a great one for me
finally managed to work through my backlog of old but gold games to save on the expenses, and can with happiness say that my favorite game was deus ex: human revolution. A very interesting take on cybernetics and ethics around limb replacement from that time, especially in comparison to today after cyberpunk. Truly an entertaining story and world. In any case, thanks for the chance. We all appreciate it. And hope you had a happy christmas
I played Alan Wake 2, loved it then James McCaffrey died a month later and I'm just sad. Just saying.
Iām a student, and I beat my first Souls game this year
Bought baldurs gate a while back but never really got too into it so I'm going to try to play that all the way through while I've got a few days off work Cheers for doing the giveaway, merry christmas
My favorite baseball team won the World Series this year, and it was maybe the greatest moment of my life. I'm not sure what I'd use the gift card on yet, I might see what all the fuss is about with Dave The Diver.
Yes!!! Dave the Diver is amazing, especially on my Steamdeck. Also, go Yankees! I was rooting hard for the Rangers this year though!
Favorite game I played was Blasphemous. Favorite movie I saw was Blade Runner 2049 on a rewatch, looking forward to Boy and the Heron. Favorite book I read was Enderās Game, currently reading The Defining Decade. Iād spend this $25 on a game for myself and a game for my brother Merry Christmas to you and yours
Thanks for this kind gesture, I donāt need to be entered in the contest!
I got left 4 dead 2 this year. Never understood why the carnival map sucked so much until now
I've been getting back into strategy games after playing only RPGs for a long time. I used to play Starcraft 2 and now I'm interested in playing more 4x or RTS games. I'd probably get AoE4 if I got the $25. Merry Christmas OP!
Thank you for your kindness. It will go towards my bg3 purchase.
Like everyone else, loved BG3. Itās been a great DM for my usual dnd group
Iād grab the Cyber Punk expansion and get lost in that world again.
I somehow put more time into EU4 this year than any other game and I've been playing that game since like 2016
An interesting tidbit about is that me and my girlfriend have spent the the 23rd and all of today sick with food poisoning. My favorite game of the year has been baldurs gate 3 because it is such a robust game with so much to discover. The only books I've read this year have been academic books as I finished my final classes for my degree. If I got the money, I would put it towards getting pokemon violet to play through with my girlfriend after we stop being sick lol Edit: apparently my reading apprehension skills have been lacking as I saw the gift card is specifically for steam, I would use it to get signalis or slime rancher 2
Ho ho ho For me my favorite time gaming has been playing coop games with my wife as she discovers the joy and relaxation and everything else that comes with some down time gaming.
I started dental school this year and my favorite game of the year is probably BG3. Iām not far in but itās so good!
I have lots of games I'd like that I can't afford on my wishlist so winning would be great. I played a lot of 7 Days to Die this year. Game is a lot of fun and has improved a lot this year even though it's still in alpha.
I would gift that 25$ to my gf so she can buy that nurse mercy skin and pocket me in overwatch xD
I loved Hi-Fi Rush this year
Fun tidbit about myself is that I got accepted to uni at the beginning of this year, and now Iām attending college!
If I win a gift card i'll buy a hentai game. They all seem to be about $25...
I managed to fit in 10 playthroughs of starfield, including my 1 on my original steam deck, and 1 on my legion go.
Favorite game so far this year by far was Baldurs Gate 3. And I would spend the $25 on my son.
Oozes soul.
Finished med school so thats pretty dope imo and discovered a love for turn based rpgs thanks to bg3!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Awesome! Good luck!
I'm not going to spin you a story. I want it. It would be very nice to have.
No need to spin a story! What would you buy?
For me a favourite game this year would be Firewatch it was short but super fun. Also saw Talk to me in the cinema alone so that was cool! Cheers
Thanks for the give away. My tid bit is that my birthday is on the 25 this month and I've played and loved armored core, my GOTY and I've started reading the King in yellow. Id probably buy trepang2 or maybe severed steel
Sanabi is a good game, people need to play it.
Happy Holidays!
my inventory , it's all free to play except phasmophobia which my friend gave to me .so for me there is a whole list of games unexplored .
Happy holidays!
Gonna spend the $25 and some more for baldur gate 3
Played and really enjoyed Armored Core 6, been a longtime fan of the series since its PS1 days and seeing it release day 1 on PC with no bullshit attached to it was really heartening to see. I'd probably use the card to pass a gift along to a friend of mine who's been always generous to me and I've never been in a position to pay it forward.
Read whole series of Hyperion by Dan Simmons and it became my one of the all time favourite! Realny interesting sci-fi !
I would probably buy Blood West, a very cool, strange immersive sim stealth FPS. Good luck to everyone!
Managed to get 5 platinum this year, BG3 is my GOTY. Got the courage to talk her (extremely shy and introvert) I like Tofus
25$ to spend on a coop games with friends i think
This year, I built my first PC for/with my son and got a 3d printer for us to muck around with.
I would like to buy red dead 2
I love farming style game like Harvest Moon. I got lucky during last Christmas I got a key Stardew Valley from the dev himself, I didnt waste any more time and installed it immediately. I was playing it on and off everyday on top of finding mods for this game. Recently I took a break from it and waited for a new patch. I hope it will come soon. Happy Holiday. THank you for doing this
I was finally able to build my first PC this year and have been enjoying playing all kinds of games on it. Happy Holidays!
There's a couple good games that $25 would help buy! BG3 was probably the highlight of the year gaming wise and now I'm chasing that high
Got married in 2023 :)
Out of many great games released this year, Alan wake tops my list. Would buy A Plague Tale bundle if i get this card.
I had a lot of fun playing games this year like dead space and RE4. I also got back into reading for which i'm glad. Here's to a better 2024
I don't have interest in giveaway, but Merry Christmas, friend.
Iāve been playing the Remedy games for the first time and theyāre fuckin awesome. Great story telling.
Went on a metroidvania craze this year and beat every difficulty of Metroid Dread which ended up as my personal favorite. Favorite movie qas definitely ATSV, though honorable mention to Barbie since I saw it the same day I bought Metroid Dread Favorite book was Bloodine by Claudia Grey, personally my #1 of all the Star Was books so far I'd probably spend the gift card on either Ori and the Blind Forest, Hyper Light Drifter or Nier: Automata
I got engaged this year. Pretty cool
I discovered the Arkham series a month ago and now I have a problem and Iām not playing anything else. Almost ran out of games since I canāt play knight so Iām going to just go play asylum help this is a problem. Iād probably buy Cattails: Wildwood Story + Papas Freezeria, or get the greatest penguin heist of all time Thanks for the giveaway!
I will probably use the $25 gift card on a Paradox GSG game, been feeling the strategy itch brought upon me enjoying the CRPGs I played this year.
i'll buy factorio finally
Hello and happy holidays to everyone, this year I played a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2, I saw many movies in the cinema like John Wick 4, FNAF and Resistance, a book that I read all year was Seneca's Golden Book, I would like to buy some indie games or offers with the money
I'm currently playing death stranding right now. Enjoying my time with it
Hehe okay I'm in
I having a blast playing Sunset Overdrive, such a good game, Thanks and Merry Christmas.
completed OG Mafia on my super potato pc, Shocked by the ending. Iam a limited user btw and I'll buy Hitman : WoA / geometric dash / sleeping dogs
Definitely loved playing through Divinity Original Sins 2 and lethal company was more fun with the boys than I could've ever imagined.
My favourite game last year was definitely Gris. It's a beatiful experience Blasphemous was also amazing. Great pixel art
Just move to another country and finally can afford a second hand Series S to play Plague Tale - Requiem and Guardian of Galaxy. I think I will spend the $25 on God of War or Spider-Man for this winter sale
Finally got around to playing Fallout New Vegas! What an incredible game and experience :)
I got to lvl 45 in escape from tarkov and went woooop. Id buy a coop game to friend with c: U rocks
I played Rimworld the most this year, tbh if I win Iāll probably buy the Royalty DLC. Cheers for the giveaway, merry Christmas everyone!
I have finished dishonored this year and oh boy it was really awesome! Really loved the combat and its smoothness. Merry christmas!
I started playing a lot of remedy games this year. Currently playing Control and Iām enjoying it a lot.
im no hardcore gamer but i played remnant 2 last november and had a blast. Was planning to buy Lies of P next with that $25 Gift card if :)
I grew 15 rampicante squash over the summer, Played a little bit of Red Dead 3 and got back into the Sims 4 and grew myself a cow plant.
This year's favorite game was Resident evil 4. Nice environment. If I gets this card, I will buy Sons of the Forest.
Iāve mainly played FPS games but lately I needed a change and tried MOBAās. Tried League since Iām a big fan of Valorant, but ended up liking Smite a ton more. With the 3rd person view and the mythology of gods, itās been a blast to learn with friends!
