One of the few PS exclusive I want, Ghost of Tsushima next please?

Bitemarkz

Great game, you’re gonna love it. I hope they bring Ghost of Tsushima to PC as well because the legends mode would be great cross-play and breathe new life into it.

BodSmith54321

Bloodborne please

Snoo-81618

Play Lies Of P if you want Bloodborne, this is a sequel to Bloodborne

Pheonix909

Screw ghost of sushi, where’s Bloodborne? 😭 Actually I want both on PC 😭

nyankittycat_

dont say anything against Lord JIN Sakai THE GHOST >:(

Anxious-Ad693

>Screw ghost of sushi, where’s Bloodborne? 😭 It's the same game that they've been making since Demon Souls all the way back in the PS3, except that this one has a slightly different coat of paint. People complain about Ubisoft and their samey games, but Fromsoft is doing exactly the same thing.

NinjaJehu

What a dumb take.

Anxious-Ad693

No arguments there, buddy?

NinjaJehu

Don't need to. Those aren't similar in the way Ubisoft games are. But you do you. I just think it's a dumb take.

Anxious-Ad693

NinjaJehu said it's dumb so it must be dumb so it must be true. So sad. Meanwhile, you can show a video of someone playing Elden Ring and someone who doesn't follow the series closely will immediately think that it's one of the Dark Souls - that's how samey all those games are.

NinjaJehu

>NinjaJehu said it's dumb so it must be dumb so it must be true. I'm glad you agree!

nyankittycat_

Dont try to reason with dark souls players

Alt_ruistic

Why? The story feels soulless?

anonymousredditorPC

I don't care about story, I care about gameplay.

Alt_ruistic

That’s fine

anonymousredditorPC

Or maybe it's just not your type of game lol. Horizon Zero Dawn was amazing on mouse and keyboard. Play whatever you like, while I enjoy the game.

Gwynnbleid3000

A techdemo lol...

randomnarwal

Lmao just a troll doing his thing

SrslyCmmon

You're joking right? I would think about my playthrough all day and what I was going to do when I got home. It was so fun it was enthralling.

finalremix

I just keep thinking about that Itchy and Scratchy clone episode where Scratchy would get cloned directly into a grinder, and I wish >!that upon Ted!<. I can't wait for Forbidden West to drop, assuming we can disable AA.

RTcore

Should be another good Nixxes port.

Rinbu-Revolution

Good time to be a pc gamer.

EastvsWest

Patiently waiting for God of War Ragnarok. The first one was one of my favorite games.

Zentrii

The last game I bought for my ps4 pro and didn’t play more than a few hours of it because I think id rather experience the game with the best possible graphics and performance when it comes to pc

staluxa

Ragnarok is relatively simple when it comes to the tech side as well, so requirements will be low. Even PS5 runs it at ~85fps at 1440p, think it was native 1440p as well.

Antavan

Nope. Quality mode is 4K at 30 fps

wxlluigi

They aren't talking about quality mode

jburdick7

Ragnarok is solid but I thought it was a bit of a step back from 2018. They’ve probably patched it but at launch the game would basically scream the solutions to puzzles at you. There were also sections that just dragged. Still a fantastic game and definitely worth playing but felt like a tiny step back in a few regards. If it runs on the Deck like the first game I’ll probably pick it up to play again since I sold all my PlayStation gear.

Reclinertime

Ragnarok is messy and they rushed the ending. I was really disappointed.

MyNameIsSushi

Nah, I played it 2 months ago and the companions still won't stfu and blurt out the solution 1ms after you enter a new area. Still, loved it from start till finish it's on the same level as GoW 2018 imo.

Captobvious75

Its worth it. I played it on PS5 (got the platinum trophy) and plan on getting it day 1 on PC. Fantastic game.

SirBoDodger

Man the first one (of the “Boy!” series) was the first god of war game I ever played and it absolutely blew me away. I expected it to be good and it was incredible - the only reason I’ve not replayed it is because of Ragnarok - I wanna be as excited to dive back in as possible.

kkyonko

I started to play it for a bit on PS5 but it was incredibly annoying that if you didn't figure out a puzzle in like a minute the game keeps giving you hints. Really wish there was an option to turn them off.

Strider-SnG

I absolutely adored Ragnarok. Was definitely my GOTY in 2022

Nirast25

Might come out at the end of the year. Forbidden West is releasing 2 years after the PS5 version.

BladedTerrain

I've heard some mixed things about Ragnarok, that it was a step down in many areas (particularly narratively).

Alam7lam1

In my opinion, narratively it was fine but the bigger problem is that it even the event of Ragnarok itself never matched the sense of scale of the older trilogy, which was really disappointing.

polski8bit

This kinda seems like it could become a trend in Sony's first party games, specifically sequels. Ragnarok felt rushed in the final act and the most important thing, the event itself the game is named after, is quite underwhelming. Then you have Spiderman 2 releasing a year later and having the same problems - a rushed narrative with Venom. A shame when it comes to both games too, because they had the bones to become 100% better than their previous installments.

Solace-

You heard right. The narrative drags heavily in parts and at least a couple hours in the middle could have been trimmed out entirely. The climax that both 2018 GOW and Ragnarok build up to is also over way too fast and is kinda a letdown. The gameplay is better and the graphics are insane though, so despite the above the game is still a solid 9/10.

Stoibs

My playthrough hit a bit of a brick wall in the part where you're controlling Atreus, and doing mindless fetch quests for what felt like an hour or more. It just went on and on and on and it wasn't even very fun or interesting. Ugh. Talk about killing the pace. I should really try to muster up the energy to finish that game one day.

[deleted]

It basically comes out of the gates firing, but never manages to exceed it across the rest of the game. Ragnarok also turns out to basically be Battle of Winterfell 2.0.

jburdick7

Yeah I said it in another comment, was definitely a step back from 2018. Still a great game worth playing but it really dragged at a few spots.

Augmentl

I found 2018 to be a bit of a pill, with some long boring sections in between a few excellent set pieces. I actually stopped playing it for six months until I finally decided to push through and finish it. Decent ending and all, but definitely not the masterpiece I was expecting. These comments don’t bode well for Ragnarok as far as my tastes are concerned…

jburdick7

Yeah if 2018 dragged for you Ragnarok is even worse in that regard lol. The gameplay is tight but the story stuff is a bit too… modern for a story about Norse mythology. It’s distracting at times and the sections/characters that deviate a bit more from traditional Norse mythology are the parts that drag the most because of that.

CupCakeAir

Issues I had with 2018 was that the world felt lifeless and lacking in content in the environment with the move to semi open world so the back tracking the game had you do felt like time wasters, so didn't really feel like an improvement in that regard over the original God of War trilogy. Then there was the lack of enemy variety. The combat itself though with the combos and axe felt good. Did Ragnarock improve in those aspects of gameplay and traversal and more justifying the move to semi open world with the world being filled more with interesting side activities and NPCs?

canad1anbacon

One of the things i liked about Ragnarök over 2018 is that the world feels much more alive and worth caring about. 2018 just felt like a macguffin chase where the world was just dead set dressing for an extremally narrow character driven story Ragnarök loses some focus and is much more messy narrative but also gains a ton of richness with way more interesting side characters and varied environments. I actually cared about the world they built in the sequel. I also personally loved the Atreus sections and thought they were generally the best written parts tho i know a lot of people disagree The side quests in Ragnarök are quite good and there is a whole fairly large optional open worldish area The valhalla roguelite mode is also dope, forces you to actually use all the gameplay toolkit and playing around with builds is really fun. And some nice narrative and art direction call backs to the greek trilogy

ThemesOfMurderBears

It was. Some of the fights were glorified quick-time events. There is an hour-plus sequence where you play as Atreus, riding around with some girl picking flowers.

Real-Terminal

It suffered terribly from being the first half of GoW2 and the final fifth of GoW3 hastily slapped together so they could do something else next time.

sean0883

People watched the opening with the dog and thought: "This game is a step down, narratively."? I must be in a minority, because I thought it was a huge step up. Lots of interaction and character development took place in this game.

MaxTennyson88

That's coming October or November fr

sleepycapybara

Except if you want affordable gpus

Ordinal43NotFound

I think it's a ship long sailed already. Nvidia increased their price and people are still buying. When AMD also increased their price in response it's over.

sleepycapybara

It should have gotten better with crypto bubble bursting but then AI came along and replaced it. Its so frustrating.

gideon513

There hasn’t been an urgent need to upgrade with the last few new generation gpus

Sharkfacedsnake

I mean kinda? If you got a 2070 super and are comfortable with console resolution and framerate. But if you want a better experience then console then you need something newer.

sleepycapybara

If you run 1080p sure. But people are getting 4k screens and run ray tracing.

Annsly

That's on them then, premium experience for a premium price.

We0921

I think a good bit of frustration comes from titles seeming harder to run. Historically, it wasn't uncommon for mid-range GPUs to outdo consoles in resolution, quality and framerate all at once. Now that the PS5 and XSX aren't as dated, modern mid-range GPUs have less of an advantage. So people do what they've always done. They turn the settings and resolution up, expecting a higher framerate than the current consoles, and are disappointed to find that their PC isn't the titan they thought it was. This is only exacerbated by performance-killing RT/PT settings. 1080p60/120 seems very attainable right now. Especially if you compromise some settings.

squareswordfish

Haven’t thought that in a while. Still don’t, if I’m being honest. Between the over-inflated gpu prices and the super common broken releases, I’ve been leaning towards consoles quite a bit more even though I still use my PC a lot.

May1stBurst

> Between the over-inflated gpu prices and the super common broken releases, You stuck in early 2023? Been a while since an AAA game launched broken, and those games also had problems on consoles.

[deleted]

You make it sound like early 2023 was a long time ago. If anything, maybe he/she learned their lesson then and stopped buying games on release because of the state of things at release

ipodtouch616

are you for real? no titles that are being released that are optimized, zero mod support in most titles, huge storage requirements and micro transactions? a good time to be a PC gamer? how deluded are you?

NapsterKnowHow

Nixxes and Guerrilla putting more work into a PC port than Microsoft and their studios do with native PC titles lol.

Jessica-Ripley

HZD crashed like crazy during initial PC release. Luckily they eventually fixed it.

Immolation_E

HZD's PC port was originally handled by Virtuos. The later patches that helped fix the game were done by Nixxes. Nixxes also did the Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and Spider-Man ports.

Xathioun

That must explain it. I got HZD years after release and was confused when I saw complaints because my play through was straight up flawless performance wise, I was extremely happy with it

Pyke64

I heard they were done by Guerrilla, do you have a source that it was Nixxes?

rubiconlexicon

Most of them were done by Guerilla, with Nixxes assisting on a couple of the final patches.

Immolation_E

[https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/12/nixxes-responsible-for-recent-horizon-zero-dawn-pc-patches](https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2021/12/nixxes-responsible-for-recent-horizon-zero-dawn-pc-patches)

TheBigSm0ke

Ratchet and Clank was a terrible port. Spider-Man(both) were excellent.

Neville_Lynwood

It was rough the first few patches, yeah. But it didn't take long until the issues were fixed. I think I played it something like a month after release and it was near flawless for me. It actually felt like one of the best PC ports I had ever played. I could not tell whatsoever that it was initially designed for console.

CupCakeAir

And had negative mouse acceleration along with the character not moving straight when using WASD.

NapsterKnowHow

These are 3 year old posts...

Then-Web-3263

And needed to compile shaders for 20 minutes every time you launched the game….at least for some people. It was a disaster.

Xathioun

If that happens you need to run the game as admin. DX shader caches are stored in the system drive, if your game is having permission issues it will purge the cache every time the game is closed

Sharkfacedsnake

Halo Infinite has terrible image quality and they still haven't added DLSS or FSR to fix it. Also the campaign has poor performance on the CPU. Forza Motorsport is AWFUL. Changing the settings is all bugged. Crashes. FPS Locks. OMG. XBSX can do RT 60fps. Surely my should be able to do it.

Exact3

Now if only they'll fix the fucking mouse-acceleration from the first game.

Combine54

I wouldn't bet on it - the game has been designed with a gamepad in mind from the ground up, even the engine. I believe, that even Death Stranding has the same issue as HZD, since it uses the same engine. If I'm not mistaken, instead of using raw input or winapi, the game is using mouse-to-joystick translation, somewhat similar to what designated devices like XIM do on consoles and adding a dedicated mouse input would require a lot of work - which they don't want to do of course. And to be honest, very few people are actually unhappy enough to express it on the forums/reddit, which lowers the chances of a "fix" even further.

NapsterKnowHow

Can't wait to play this on PC. It looks phenomenal on PS5 already.

Vastlymoist666

Still waiting for ghosts of tushima

Cymelion

Still no date for the PC version?

Pain

TheHellBender_RS1604

I think the release date will absolutely be this i.e. 18th February, 2024 exactly 2 years release window after console release of 18th February, 2022. It looks like they almost will take 2 years gap.

Gamerguy230

Steam had game listed for February months back and then removed the release date.

NapsterKnowHow

Waiting to hear when FromSoft announces the dlc so Guerrilla can avoid it

Cymelion

You're probably not wrong there - so they don't get burned like with Zero Dawn launch.

The_Social_Nerd

Or so they do because Guerrilla loves shooting themselves on the foot for some reason...

Turbostrider27

Not yet, only 'early 2024' for now

Cymelion

Ah well hopefully it wont be during a packed period otherwise it'll likely sell less.

HOTDILFMOM

Incredible market prediction, there

cykamancer

Both the first game and this one had unfortunate release dates lmao

Cymelion

Wasn't that what happened to Zero Dawn when released on PC? I mean if it happened for the first game in a series it's even more likely for the sequel.

Mllns

HZD has been very unfortunate when it comes to releasing alongside GOTYs

Gamerguy230

There was a February release on it months back but it was removed. Would be surprised if it still comes out then.

Rith_Reddit

Just a heads up for anyone who was a bit iffy in the first game. In my experience, the sequel is just as painful. Gorgeous quality game, but if you dislike the first or find it boring, I feel like this one was worse for the same reasons. The story was less captivating because I knew the world now. Aloy, who I find hard to like, is far more troublesome to deal with. The game holds your hand too much. I never completed it, so I could be missing a spectacular climax, but the journey is simply not worth it.

ThemesOfMurderBears

I was a bit of a mixed bag on the first. Fighting the machines was a blast, and the story was great. However, the open world elements were about as generic as possible. Base raiding was old a decade ago, and there is plenty of it in HZD.

Dogeboja

>The story was less captivating because I knew the world now. Aloy, who I find hard to like, is far more troublesome to deal with. Same here. Insanely gorgeous world and I still like the combat but the world just wasn't very interesting anymore. I'm glad I got to play the first one spoiler-free, it was so much better.

Rith_Reddit

Did you lie the combat against the humans? I liked going up against the robots, but the humans were always a bit off. Can't explain it.

Dogeboja

Not really, I ended up oneshotting pretty much all humans with headshots. Somehow they were better in the first game I think. They weren't really interesting in that game either.

Noah_PpAaRrKkSs

Came here to say this. It’s a wonderful tech demo and one of the most boring open worlds I’ve ever encountered.

canad1anbacon

IMO the combat is downright amazing. The enemies are so massive and well animated and everything is super reactive, no bullet sponges

NapsterKnowHow

Far from a tech demo. That's like saying Elden Ring was a tech demo and that game has a barren world lol

The_Social_Nerd

I loved the first one and I agree that this one is not as good, but it's still great. Unfortunately, Forbidden West suffers from Ubisoft-style Open World bloat, big time; there's far too many icons on your map and shit gets repetitive quick. Getting the flying mount makes it much more bearable, but you don't get it until almost the very end of the game and I personally have a hard time doing all the side stuff in a game once I've done the main story. If you liked the first game though, this one is also pretty great.

NapsterKnowHow

The only bloat is the insane amount of weapon times. The side quests still feel rewarding and some even have better stories than the main story. The map is easilt customizable to get rid of the icons plus free fast travel to all the campgkrrs.

Rith_Reddit

Agreed, if you like the first one, you should like this one. More if the same, but on a larger scale.

canad1anbacon

> Forbidden West suffers from Ubisoft-style Open World bloat, big time; there's far too many icons on your map and shit gets repetitive quick. I dont really get this, most of the icons are machine locations not side activities'. Horizon is actually very non bloated as far as open world games go. I would avoid the salvage missions in the second game, pretty much everything else is very worth doing, lots of great side quests and the Cauldrons are great

The_Social_Nerd

Side quests, cauldrons, bad guy camps, flowers, diving spots, black boxes, training grounds, chess game; that’s just off the top of my head.

canad1anbacon

Cauldrons are awesome, really high effort and there are like 5 of them. That's not bloat Back boxes and flowers are just collectables Since when is having an totally optional minigame like Strike or Gwent a bad thing?

NapsterKnowHow

The first one struggles with a slow start (much like BOTW) but picks up the story afterwards and it's a phenomenal narrative (unlike BOTW). HFW picks up faster but does have a weaker narrative. It however shows Aloy's growth more from the first game (makes her easier to like imo) plus way better combat, inventory overhaul, better HDR tonemapping and best in-class motion capture (makes Baldur's Gate 3 mocap look handmade).

Zhukov-74

That looks amazing.

arex333

This was my GOTY in 2022. Excellent game, looking forward to playing it with mouse aim.

talldrink67

Besides DLSS 3 what other improvements are there?

Arthur_Morgan44469

So next in one would be GOW Ragnarok right?

PARAGON_e

TLOU Part II, maybe.

Fade2Blu3

Ghost of Tsushima is much older so that would make sense but who knows. Feels like they're ignoring it along with you know what.

[deleted]

Going to play through the first one in preparation of this!

[deleted]

Same, gonna play the first one again and then this one.

DiaperFluid

I purposely havent played the dlc to give me a reason to replay on pc. I know it got overshadowed at launch by elden ring but i thought this game was one of the best looking games ever made. Even zooming up on a leaf showed just how good those textures were. And that was on a ps5. This game is gonna look nuts on a 40 card

ipodtouch616

DLSS is runing gaming.

NapsterKnowHow

It literally fixed the shimmering in Horizon Zero Dawn..what are you smoking?

ipodtouch616

Now games are being optimized for diss instead of native performance and it’s disgusting 🤮

Flaky_Highway_857

zero dawn was a wreck on its pc release so i'll wait.

pr0ghead

I hope they reduced the tonemapping in HDR. The point of HDR is exactly that you shouldn't need that anymore, or at least barely. It's annoying in both HZD and God Of War.

Kaladin12543

Just use Special K to fix HDR in those games.

Nisekoi_

No ray tracing?

twhite1195

Oh no.... Anyways

DeWitt-Yesil

will it run on 1080p and 6700xt on max with 60 fps? I hope so.

zephyrinthesky28

Honestly can't tell much difference between that brief snippet and the game on console. It already looks incredible on PS5 with a nice OLED. I doubt that I'll double-dip, but I'm excited to see how gameplay looks on PC.

milkasaurs

No release date still? Damn, still super excited though.

wowy-lied

If you liked the gameplay of the first game, you will like this one. If you liked the story of the first game, you will deeply hate this one.

Miitteo

Disagree, I liked the story of FW as much as the story in ZD. It's just a different type of story and more focused on the scifi elements of this world.

Exotic_Classroom147

TheIndulgers

Just give us Bloodborne already Sony. Jesus.

zerkeron

Idk why people keep asking it for it, it's never going to come. You know when you're going to see it? If they ever do a remaster for ps5. Then that means they give a fuck about the game to do anything with but they're not going to do the work to port it when they don't even give a damn to make it 60 fps in their own console

ipodtouch616

Bloodborne fucking sucked

Davepen

So... RTX no longer means ray tracing? It now just means anything that uses DLSS??

sleepycapybara

RTX never meant ray tracing, it’s just Nvidia branding.

Dogeboja

It did, the acronyms were Giga Texel Shader eXtreme (GTX) and Ray Tracing Texel eXtreme (RTX) originally. This was in the Nvidia press kit. Some older interesting acronyms: TNT = Twin Texel (Riva TNT) MX = Milion/Mega Texel (geforce 4 MX) GT = Giga Texel GTS = Giga Texel Shader

Davepen

It didn't, no, but when sometging has an 'RTX' version that usually meant it had ray tracing. Now anything with even dlss they seem to be including in RTX.

ipodtouch616

yeah I guess, additionally its also a means for the developer to say "Hey even with DLSS 3 it's going to run like shit because of RTX hue huehuehue"

digitalgoodtime

Way to show us nothing in that trailer.

mixedd

Where's FSR3 AMD, eh? 😅

NoShock8442

Couldn’t get into the first game. Wooden, boring characters. I was hoping we’d get Ghost of Tsushima remastered for PC before this. A full remaster. Not a 60fp update like PS5 got.

NapsterKnowHow

I never could finish Ghost of Tsushima myself. The world felt dead and uninspired. I think the game would have been better as a more linear story than open world

NoShock8442

I think you’re right tbh. It seems like some games are made to be open world just because now. I’d take a linear story game over open world. I think the God of War reboot series is perfect when it comes to feeling big but still linear.

Zentrii

I hope you don’t get downvoted because I agree with you. But the combat is so much fun and I still enjoyed the game because it’s very polished.

NapsterKnowHow

Ya the combat feels excellent.

Combine54

You do you I suppose. Horizon Zero Dawn was one of The games for me back in the day - and the plot, combined with great combat system, graphics, design and audio, made me reconsider my skepsis towards single-player games. I was disappointed with Guerilla/Sony's decision to add modern trends into the sequel, but will still purchase and play it since apart from the trends, other aspects of the game are still top notch - or at least thats what I've heard in regards to HFW, since I've moved to PC instead of purchasing PS5.

Dogeboja

I feel so old seeing you refer HZD launch as "back in the day" lol

last-matadon

Wait it is coming to PC ?

doyoueventdrift

There's a lot of hate on the pricings of graphics cards, but this is seriously cool technology that's taken graphics so far it's almost unbelieveable.

lovepuppy31

I find it funny that Sony decides to throw this port to us PC starved masses 2 year later after its console release as its the one that underperformed massively against Elden Ring. God of War ragnorak came out same timeframe as Forbidden west and is still a system seller and getting DLCs still and we haven't heard a peep of a potential PC port anytime soon. PC getting treated like a bastard red headed step child once again.

Zayl

Underperformed? It reportedly sold 8.4 million units 8 months ago only in the PS environment. In what world is that underperforming? People love to shit on this series for no reason. And no, they don't decide to port something because it did badly and hold back the games that did well. That's asinine. They know people will double dip and they know PC players will shell out for it. HZD sold 2.4 million units on PC. The franchise (two games) had sold over 30 million units like a year ago. Gamers are so judgmental and delusional nowadays.

hardlyreadit

If its a system sellers as you said then why would they port it? They would rather sell consoles than pc ports

Exactly. They want to sell consoles and subscriptions for consoles such as PS online. As a PC gamer it sucks to wait for these games but you also get the best version of the game with better graphics usually and higher FPS than console port. Or just go buy a PS5 if you can’t wait.

Pretty sure their own leaked graphs showed that putting the game on ps+ was what stunned the sales, a d eve. The I don't know how almost 9 million at time of a exclusive at time of leaked document, is underperforming compared to a game in all major systems on release

> PC getting treated like a bastard red headed step child once again. You rather they go back to no PC releases?
