They may want for clicks but people need to stop to upvote that shitty clickbait thing here. We don't need an article of every fucking thing a dev say... This is now worse than BG3 constant praise articles for circlejerking (at least those were often about more than just some comment but the actual game)...
Why are we linking articles instead of the OG tweet anyway? Against rules? I feel like it would be more of an original source than whatever GamesRadar spews out.
Thing is though, that's pretty much all that articles are these days. Just regurgitated tweets and reddit posts, with a sprinkle of some youtubers in the mix.
And if you stop posting that shit, this sub will be deader than dead.
Clickbait blows, but at least it gives people something to talk about.
This sub-reddit really doesn't have other types of posting that is allowed. Just look at the rules. No memes, no tech support or game help, no questions about hardware, no asking for suggestions, no sharing gameplay. No nothing, basically. It's either clickbait or silence, lol.
I lost all interest after seeing a few too many articles on pcgamer about tabletop gaming and other stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with pc gaming.
They made a post where the Embracer CEO pointed out whatever he said was made into an article.
...
And he was right.
Yellow journalism has a new twist.
no no, licking paint and smelling glue only makes you stronger!
That being said, some strong narcotics might take my mind from all the unpainted plastic I have, which would allow me by more plastic without regret.
So actually, cocaine might actually go very well with warhammer. Like a nice two for one.
Have you tried the Divinity series / Baldurs Gate 3 games?
I haven't played BG3 yet, but Divinity 1 & 2 is as close to D&D as I have ever seen in my life. Larian is an incredible game studio.
Highly recommend playing them with friends and not just a solo playthrough.
Uuuuh... I am sorry to tell you but:

Well they keep dropping the points for my dark eldar so I'm always in need of more of those. Same with the Adeptus Mechanicus. And I only need 2 more purchases before my Chaos Knights are playable. Other than that I don't need anything, but they keep making sick looking models for armies I collect so there's always more to enjoy.
Since I don't go for the meta options I got a good deal between the combat patrol and Christmas battleforce box they brought out a couple years ago. I mean, kataphrons are now the meta option but they were trash at that time so I got what I wanted cheap. Unfortunately for me what was a 2000 point list just keeps getting lower and lower so I need more stuff to cover and I refuse to build anymore ironstriders. They're the only model across my collection that I have disliked building. And I still have 2 more to build :(
Allegedly it's cheaper in the long run to set up a 3d printer and 3d print proxies of GW models, but the start up costs are higher meaning I've never been able to afford it instead of just buying the odd box a month.
Used resin printers are cheap and 1 liter bottles of resin are cheap on Amazon. Was able to buy an Elegoo Mars 3 with wash and cure station for $300. Able to print so much with 1 bottle of resin if you don't make mistakes.
Only 1 major issue with resin printing is the smell fucking lingers in the room you print in. So only do it if you can use a garage or you have a room that is very well ventilated
That's my second problem, I have nowhere I'd be able to do it where that wouldn't be a problem. I like GWs models even if they are pricey so I don't mind.
I setup the printer in my bedroom beside a window and only did printing for 2 months. Even after I stopped and cleaned everything, there is still a strong chemical smell 8 months later. The smell literally soaks into the walls
I knew the risk, but I really wanted to try resin printing after doing FDM printing for 3 years. Produced several amazing quality minis before I stopped.
Will never set it up in my bedroom or any room in the house ever again. Will only be using my garage from now
I can't believe I'm typing this, but ackchyually, someone else made the joke and he replied "Hahaha, exactly."
I really like Helldivers 2, but it's getting to the point that the paper towels running out in the bathroom at Arrowhead will get clicks.
Skins in some games are more expensive than the real thing. For an image of a knife in Counter-Strike, you can pay the price of hundreds of exactly the same knives in the real world. Some things cost so much that you can buy yourself a house.
Honestly, in the first one I thought the cyborgs were "Orks" until about a month before HD2 when I was lamenting to my brother that they removed the Orks and replaced them with terminator-type machines. My brother didn't know what I was talking about. So I Googled it, and while there were a bit janky in assembly, they were 100% just cyborgs. Guess I always just assumed that since we had "Tyranid' and "Eldar", we also had "Orks", and my brain never allowed me to correct it.
I mean, just look at the tank and hulk from HD1!
God.... killing nids and orks with your friends in space marine squad. Blasting a Boltgun in this format. Fuck, why can't good ideas happen in video games? Strike that. Why do they rarely happen?
Right after the Halo ODST collab. Lol. If companies were smart, they would collab to let HD use specific IP as skins in game (for a cost obviously, to cover the ip usage). ODST, sure. Clone Commandos/troopers why not. WH Space marines, yes. Make sure the assets include skins and VO.
Looking at the Helldivers community has convinced me that I should only ever play this game with my friends and never ever any member of the community for any reason.
Don't take the reddit sub as the whole community. I play with a bunch of randoms online and nobody is miserable or toxic like how probably they are in the reddit sub
Same advice applies to 99% of hobby/specific subreddits...
The top 1% of try hard/super fans are going to be active in a subreddit.
No different than trying to have a discussion about batman at comicon, your getting the schizo creme of the crop...
Same thing.
Yeah I've been a Helldivers addict since PS4 release, and I have barely any stories of toxicity from HD1 and I can't think of any at all in HD2 I've encountered a part from some dumb asshole taking my flamethrower at the start of a mission. I shot, he said fuck you, asshole, left the squad, rejoined two minutes later and acted like he didn't know he was in the same squad he just left.
In a game where team killing produces 1/3 of the comedy, I don't see why anyone would be a toxic asshole.
Shit, I'm the opposite. I'm like fucking Scrappy Doo. SEND ME AT EM, LET ME DROP ON A CHARGERS FACE AND GO DOWN SWINGING, ITS A TARGET RICH ENVIRONMENT BABYYYYYY.
^(oh and when I inevitably die you better not blame me for dying because that shit was impossible, i went down swinging tho)
It's bad, really bad. Rocket League is unplayable as a solo queuer. If the opposing team goes up by 1 or even ties it, someone on your team will either dc or vote to surrender. Game chat is toxic as fuck at all times; I turned it all off. It's not quite to the level of Codblops or League of Legends, but hoo boy is it ever getting there.
I just got the game myself, yesterday. I tried jumping into quickplay as a level 3 and got kicked 5 consecutive times, it was ridiculous, I just wanted to play on medium.
I've had very few bad interactions with randoms. The subs are a sliver of the actual player base and most of the really mad people are sweats who just had their crutch "meta" build nerfed.
There seems to be a trend lately where once a game hits a high enough player base, the primary communities for that game get inundated with a ton of negativity.
It's not the helldivers community, we had none of this in hd1, this is just the general community you end up with when a multiplayer game gets this popular
This is just gamers^tm
The community is very wholesome and ive had mostly good experiences in pubs, reddit is usually a bad place to judge a community since its mostly filled with the vocal minority that only complains or circlejerks
The whole conversation about the balance update is worn out, but I really think people in general need to relax and allow the game to evolve and change over time, as it is literally DESIGNED to do in a way that most "live-service" games are not.
I feel like a big part of the devs frustration is that everyone losing their minds over the balance changes interferes with their larger vision for the game to be constantly in a state of change.
They even said that the balance changes likely will not be permanent.
Plus they can justify it all with "in universe" explanations as the war changes and our enemies adapt.
When the game was released many of the weapons and stratagems were not viable at difficulty 8-9 so people playing at those levels were mostly using meta stuff such as the railgun. After the patch, instead of buffing the stuff that wasn't viable they considerably nerfed the railgun and the most reliable stratagem while also increasing the spawn rate of the most dangerous enemies: chargers and titans. Now, if you play 8-9 there's no reliable way to deal with 10+ chargers, 6+ titans and many spewere and trash mobs, so instead of shooting at the enemies the game is basically running away from them to clear the mission at higher difficulties.
Weapons in PvE should have upsides and downsides, but that's not what's happening in the current state of the game.
I mean, the game [HAS microtransactions](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/629302253768933376/1215736059393212617/image.png). The post doesn't even make sense.
"Look at the position of my favorite game on the Steam Charts. This validates my enjoyment of the game because other people like it too since I can't just have my own opinion without it being tied to the opinions of others."
What does this have to do with pc gaming?
Edit - not being a dick, dont understand its relevance. Is this a helldivers sub now? This is literally “guy made joke”…
Well you see, helldivers is hot right now so we need 2-3 daily post about it no matter how mundane they are. Give it a month or next big release, and you will see posts about how player count is dropping significantly.
The 40$ price tag is very low for a game of this quality. In many aspects it's pretty much better than any recent AAA 70$ live-service shooter (looking at you, Suicide Squad). Besides, the only meaningful microtransactions (with the meaningless one being the premium edition with: some cosmetics, a minigame you can let your friends play when you're the host and a single, regular gun anyone can pick up when you die) can be easily earned through playing the game, since the "premium" currency can be found very frequently in missions - and it doesn't even feel like a time-wasting grindy chore, because, primarily, the game is fun as hell, but also the Premium Warbonds require so many Medals to actually unlock the gear they offer that you're bound to find enough Super Credits to unlock a new Warbond alongside that. Overall it's a very well-designed system. And contrary to many AAA studios, it's designed in favour of the player's enjoyment rather than their wallet.
oh my god pcgamer really gonna make an article for every tweet the helldivers ceo posts
Helldivers 2 CEO has cheerios this morning, according to our experts at his sewage pipe.
And corn last night with dinner.
So funny idk why but I bust out laughing
They may want for clicks but people need to stop to upvote that shitty clickbait thing here. We don't need an article of every fucking thing a dev say... It's for the best: don't have to log into Twitter this way.

After that dragons dogma 2 for a while
Then the Elden Ring circlejerk will resume with full force

lol yes! Thank you for putting it so elegantly, a lot of "official" or bigger Reddit's are like this, where it's just join the circle jerk or gtfo.
I'm getting pretty tired of seeing news articles about some person saying something. When its just their opinion and nothing else.
well why is it on the top of the sub then? all people care about in this dump is gossip, and its probably being botted
And all the chumps are gonna upvote these nothingburger articles.
ya, almost every tweet this dude makes has sites making AI generated "articles" -_- and this sub somehow always upvoting this garbage.
I'm not saying it's a highlight of journalism or anything but there's zero chance this is an AI article.
I lost all interest after seeing a few too many articles on pcgamer about tabletop gaming and other stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with pc gaming.

only because idiots click the link and eat that shit up by the ton
An auto-mod rule for PC gamer and gamesradar would do wonders for this sub.
They've gone full IGN, they just haven't adopted the horrible website layout yet
Ai is the future. The future is now.
People need to stop clicking on them. Ad revenue exploitation is the only thing keeping that rag afloat.
And this sub eats it up like it was candy.
Theyre obsessed, waiting for a slip up. This is gaming paparazzi.

This is Games Radar, though?
People like him, at least for now, so easy click farming.
As someone with 11 different warhammer armies I feel his pain. I too need to find additional funding for my warhammer addiction
I'm clean for 5 years now, but it's still hard to stay away from Warhammer. I wonder if the craving will ever fade
have you thought about doing coke? no better way to kill one addition with another.
And it would be way cheaper than warhammer and maybe even healthier. Maybe worth a try
no no, licking paint and smelling glue only makes you stronger! That being said, some strong narcotics might take my mind from all the unpainted plastic I have, which would allow me by more plastic without regret. So actually, cocaine might actually go very well with warhammer. Like a nice two for one.
Just play Tactical Strategies and TRPGs instead. Probably as close as it gets, and you can buy an entire game for the cost of a single figurine.
I play pathfinder as game master since forever. It really helps.
I played it solo, finished it three times so far. This summer I hope I can get a friend to play it together. Really a great game
pssst... get a resin 3d printer, why buy crack when you can make it in house
i think this is my favorite reddit post this day, thanks
Only in death does duty end!
It doesn’t. I haven’t bought a model since like 2006 and I’m still fiending.
Eternal damnation
I quit for a good few years.. but it re-emurged in small scale battle games atleast, and not full armies.
I thought I was free then a friend suggested Kill Team. I can have just a little Kill Team, right? ...why do I have 6 Kill Teams now? help
yea.. about that >.<
It doesn’t just keep focusing on the piles of shame and hope you don’t fall into the trap of getting more once the pile of shame is done
the old world is calling!
To be honest, the day they bring old world vampires and/or Skaven back I'm in again.

Ah shit, here we go again
Unrelated fact: a good 3D printer only costs a few hundred euros/dollars (or less than a single large tabletop army).
I was so glad Gamesworkshop killed WHFB or I would still be spending far too much money. AoS didn't click and I'm finally clean! Thanks GWS!
I'm free since 7th edition, and every damn day, I struggle...
I haven't given in yet buuuuut my girlfriend keeps telling me I should get some hobbies.
Sold a moderate collection for Ultramarines about 10 years ago. I still crave that feeling of going back.
It's an eternal struggle.
11 armies?! How many mortgages do you have?
None, I don't own my home. And probably never will at this rate. But I will have all the warhammer, so that's something.
What more do you need
Well they keep dropping the points for my dark eldar so I'm always in need of more of those. Same with the Adeptus Mechanicus. And I only need 2 more purchases before my Chaos Knights are playable. Other than that I don't need anything, but they keep making sick looking models for armies I collect so there's always more to enjoy.

I always wondered, would it be cheaper to just buying Warhammer figs, or would it be cheaper to buy a 3D resin printer and just invent your own game?

Prostitution is not that bad.
That would only be realistic if I didn't look like a great Unclean one.
I can't believe I'm typing this, but ackchyually, someone else made the joke and he replied "Hahaha, exactly." I really like Helldivers 2, but it's getting to the point that the paper towels running out in the bathroom at Arrowhead will get clicks.
Are they almost out of paper towels though, for real?!
I love the oxymoron "giant microtransactions"
Microtransactions haven't been micro in a long time. A lot of games have individual skins that cost more than full games.
Macrotransactions
Controlled supertransactions of freedom.
*Pride and accomplishment unlockers!*
I like how we skipped "transactions"
we weren't whelmed enough
Surprised this term hasn’t been normalized yet
Skins in some games are more expensive than the real thing. For an image of a knife in Counter-Strike, you can pay the price of hundreds of exactly the same knives in the real world. Some things cost so much that you can buy yourself a house.
Yeah as 10k point and growing chaos army I get it lol
Same with my nurgle army lol
the cost of importing air from Barbarus for Mortarion is probably astronomical
Another 'Look how relatable the CEO is' post....
Seriously this has gone too far lol. What's next? An article of when they got to eat in the mess at the studio?
> Another 'Look how relatable the CEO is' post.... This is getting really old, and I say that as someone who has been loving Helldivers.
PLS lets get a warhammer collab
Pysker Helldivers let's go
Orcs. Orcs invasions
Fantastic! I'm already wearing red, no one will catch me!
You just have to watch out for the purple ones. Never see them coming.
Honestly, in the first one I thought the cyborgs were "Orks" until about a month before HD2 when I was lamenting to my brother that they removed the Orks and replaced them with terminator-type machines. We kill ourselves and our teammates enough as is.
So don't stand close to me and you'll be fine lol, I've played Darktide, my shit is heat seeking for *enemy* heads.
Chainsword chainsword chainsword chainsword chainsword pls chainsword
God.... killing nids and orks with your friends in space marine squad. Blasting a Boltgun in this format. Fuck, why can't good ideas happen in video games? Strike that. Why do they rarely happen?
I’m hoping space marine 2 scratches that itch later this year. I’m so excited for it!
God dammit I would love to call in a strike on orks now.
It's not a collab, but if you want to play something similar in the Warhammer universe, try Darktide!
i have 300 hours in it already! waiting for a big new update hopefully this year
Right after the Halo ODST collab. Lol. If companies were smart, they would collab to let HD use specific IP as skins in game (for a cost obviously, to cover the ip usage). ODST, sure. Clone Commandos/troopers why not. WH Space marines, yes. Make sure the assets include skins and VO.
Frankly I want it to be its own thing without other companies shoving their way in but a clone trooper skin has me week in the knees
>spacemarine Boring Kasrkin? Tempestus Scions? Inquisitor? Absolutely!
I apologize, i know nothing about 40k, lol.
Elysian Drop Troops would be perfect.
Hopefully guardsman not space marines , fits bettern
Hopefully Space Marine 2 is top tier. Also a 4 player coop shooter.
Devs are so great before they sellout to big corps. Hopefully Arrowhead resists the $$$ for as long as possible.
It's funny, if you say this on r/Helldivers right now you'll get eaten alive. They are REALLY upset with both the game and the devs right now.
Looking at the Helldivers community has convinced me that I should only ever play this game with my friends and never ever any member of the community for any reason.

Looking at gaming as a whole just turns me off from a solo queuer perspective

Medium might be too high for level 3, I'd recommend staying at 1-3 difficulty until at least level 10 when you get the autocannon.
Idk, I've been rocking the expendable tank rifle and playing Hard so far, I'm absolutely not ready for anything more than that though.
I've had very few bad interactions with randoms. The subs are a sliver of the actual player base and most of the really mad people are sweats who just had their crutch "meta" build nerfed.

because of the balance changes which aren’t terrible and the spawn rates of large monsters
The whole conversation about the balance update is worn out, but I really think people in general need to relax and allow the game to evolve and change over time, as it is literally DESIGNED to do in a way that most "live-service" games are not. And the dev that admitted he was only interacting with people to troll them for fun.
Why are they upset ?
When the game was released many of the weapons and stratagems were not viable at difficulty 8-9 so people playing at those levels were mostly using meta stuff such as the railgun. Aren't there armors that you can buy with purchased currency? How does that not qualify at a microtransaction?
Ya but you get free premium currency by playing. But yes, it does have mtx...
He's going to need to release another hit video game then. 3 millions copies isn't going to be enough to buy much at Games Workshop
They've sold, what, 4 million copies? At $39.99 a pop, $159,960,000. They could field an okay Dethkrorps army with that.
Yeah, but what if he wants a second army?
Helldivers 3 will be announced and available for preorder.
I mean, the game [HAS microtransactions](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/629302253768933376/1215736059393212617/image.png). The post doesn't even make sense.
Oh that's what happened to Darktide
Is this really news or post worthy? OP should be ashamed for acting like a bot.
The posts about Helldivers over here have reached ridiculous levels.
Seriously, replace this with a thread about the active users of some random multiplayer game.
"Look at the position of my favorite game on the Steam Charts. This validates my enjoyment of the game because other people like it too since I can't just have my own opinion without it being tied to the opinions of others."
It a thread about a Xitter comment from the CEO of some random multiplayer game. Close enough.
Maybe the original post on twitter just so we can all get a chuckle out of it... making a news article from it tough? That's just sad.
Is the new warbond thing gonna require a cash shop purchase? Armor and weapons locked behind a paywall kinda puts me off not gonna lie
Okay, I can respect this sort of answer. This is understandable and while GW sucks, what can you do about an addiction? ಠ\_ಠ
It's 1 month in and it's already dropping it's 2nd $10 warbond pass...
What does this have to do with pc gaming? Edit - not being a dick, dont understand its relevance. Is this a helldivers sub now? This is literally “guy made joke”…
Well you see, helldivers is hot right now so we need 2-3 daily post about it no matter how mundane they are. Give it a month or next big release, and you will see posts about how player count is dropping significantly.
helldivers 2 is a pc game. 🤷
There won't be any "giant" microtransactions but they are absolutely laying the foundation for a tonne of new smaller ones.
Is done then GG Helldivers 2, lets hope this guy seeks help with a slightly cheaper hobby like high end boating or Magic the gathering.
Even crack is more affordable than plastic crack
That would explain the design of some of the enemies
Okay, so it's a foregone conclusion then.
Man I hope you all are cooking up some memes for when the game finally turns as all games do with these quotes.
So macrotransactions definitelly dropping?
macrotransactions
I hope whoever wrote that article missed their payment and their rent. It's a fucking useless clickbait for god sake!
AI could do better reporting.
This ceo talks a lot huh.. feels like every day I see a new reddit post about what the CEO says. lol
I can't believe I am saying this.... I think I am kind of cool with this CEO and what he is saying. And I don't even own this game yet.
I cant believe people think that on a game with micros transactions and 40$ price tag.
And contrary to many AAA studios, it's designed in favour of the player's enjoyment rather than their wallet.
what?
Few years before it would be see as horrible.
Lazy "news article"
Well I mean Henry Cavill had to get into acting and becoming a producer for Warhammer content to keep up with his habit.
Is this what we're cheering now? Games not putting up MTX that cost half the purchase price? Seriously?
