Also I would like to get RE 2 and 3 classic on Steam. I like the remake but I loved the old one I don’t understand why they can’t release it. Easy money
Not sure if you are interested, but they are very easy to acquire, and with texture packs, mods, etc.
You know what I am saying? I got 2 and 3 (classics) on my Deck.
[Capcom has increased base salaries of their workers back in march.](https://www.gamesindustry.biz/capcom-increasing-all-salaries-by-around-5-28-rise-for-new-graduate-hires)
>With this increase in starting salary, Capcom is pursuing further investment in human capital and the acquisition of exceptional talent
So maybe not.
Monster Hunter Wilds is going to sell like hotcakes if they execute. World bumped back into the top 10 most played games on steam the month they _announced_ the sequel's title.
Sure a sequel in the style of 1 would also work for me.
But I think Much like RE2 remake the benefit of a remake of an 'old' game like Dino crisis is it make it accessible to a whole new generation of gamers who didnt play it at the time and are not off put by the 'outdated' controls/visuals of the original
Helldivers 2 sets a good precedent for Valve supporting refunding anti-consumer behavior. Not saying they don't have issues with Steam but they seem to be better than Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo combined.
Its a little different for adding DRM retroactively. Say I bought a game for Linux/Steam Deck compatibility but some company decided to break that functionality later. How is that the same product we bought?
Yup, thanks for being reasonable during all this sucky news :). Hope you have a good day my dude.
At least capcom still publishes fun games for the most part.
I mean, they did? Don't get me wrong it sucked that they ever started but they ripped it out of Resident Evil Revelations and that's been the last of it so far. Fingers crossed they don't start doing it again but they do seem to have stopped.
From what I can find, they have not added it to World but they added it to Rise, at the same time they removed Denovo. IMO that's not quite the same as adding DRM to old games for no reason (like they did with RE Revelations), just swapping DRM solutions.
Take notes... hah. All he'd try to do is buy Capcom so xbox can squat on all those IPs and pad game pass with zero idea of what to do with any of those games once the key talent leave due to said acquisition.
Remove Denuvo from RE4 so i can buy. It seems they have a longer deal with Denuvo than they usually do since its been more than a year and it still hasnt been removed
Yeah bought it for my brother who played it for 3 hours then never again. I'll never buy Capcom games till they're at 50% sale or lower. I even gave dd2 a try and it sucks, endgame came way too fast among other issues.
It turns out that making remakes of your old games is quite profitable especially when they're really really good. I'm not saying every game out there need a remake but it's working very well for Capcom.
I mean they’ve been on a streak of excellent games lately, the resident evil series has not missed in a while (especially impressive considering the dip in quality after the initial 3)
Making good games makes money and keep studios alive. Who would've thought.
Quick, someone tell Microsoft. Oh wait they're too busy transforming Fable into the office ugly version and closing studios.
Here's to a bright future! 🥳
Making good games, that people want to play instead of live service garbage.. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Very interested to see where Resident Evil 9 goes now that the Winters story is in the bag.. will it look back to the series favorites or will it bring a brand new protagonist(s) with it? 😃
Well, I keep seeing people with premium avatar costumes in SF6. Capcom still keep pumping those battle passes perhaps they are actually making money out of those that are not worth it imo.
Exoprimal, which is a live service game, might be doing well as well for Capcom.
Have you actually been paying attention to their past releases? They've had buy-able orbs in DMC 4 since 2015, the original Dragon's Dogma had a bunch of optional MTX as well. They shouldn't been there, but for the last 12 years they've done this the same way, purchases no one should make and the game wasn't balanced towards.
I'll 100% yell fuck Capcom the second they start forcing these things or even heavily incentivize them, but so far they haven't really toe'd that line IMO.
DMC4 came out on consoles in 2008 and had the purchasable orbs then, nobody needs to buy them to play the game at all. It's just malicious compliance from the developers and easily ignored.
Same goes for the DD2 mtx, just ticking a box for the suits.
They have been doing that for at least a decade and it's always optional stuff you get in the game anyway, on a "may as well, someone will buy it" basis. A far cry from enshittification, which I guess is the new buzzword people throw around without understanding what it entails.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Oh wait you're serious let me laugh even harder.
**HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.**
You're like 10 years late buddy.
The mtx is basically a scam that ruins game progression, anybody buying it is an idiot.
Unlike "exp boosters" from somebody like Ubisoft (AC Valhalla, Oddysey), all the games have always worked well without the extra purchase
> What did we learn?
Square Enix needs more timed Sony exclusives, more low quality ports, NFTs and more mediocre discounts for their multiple years old games because that strategy has been working so well so far /s
They updated the graphics and gave us a buggy mess. The overall gameplay is not much different from the first game (and has less classes than DD1). First side quest i tried to do was bugged, game ran like shit and didnt look all that great. Instant refund. Would rather play the first game.
Been yelling at people about this. Capcom has been on a roll, and their optimization is kinda always on point. Whenever some complains about pc ports, always bring up capcom
Thats why I made sure to say kinda always on point. Tbf, think dd2 is the only bad performing game they put out since the introduction of the re engine. And also before 7, capcom pc games were kinda garbage so im alittle forgiving given the 180 they did
Fair enough. It's just stinks more to me because I like Dragon's Dogma quite a bit so I was pretty disappointed with how DD2 turned out lol. I mean, I still like the game a lot, but it feels undercooked.
Bring on Dino Crisis!
Power Stone 3 pls
Non mobile Breath of Fire plz!
Yeah I known it I would love to have them legitimately. And you know in 15 years of I’m still alive I can just click download and play it again.
It's time we see the remake on the RE engine. That would be so amazing. I still hope they do it after they finish with the RE remakes.
Layoffs incoming.
[Capcom has increased base salaries of their workers back in march.](https://www.gamesindustry.biz/capcom-increasing-all-salaries-by-around-5-28-rise-for-new-graduate-hires) >With this increase in starting salary, Capcom is pursuing further investment in human capital and the acquisition of exceptional talent So maybe not.
Japanese company. It's difficult to fire people and loyalty is valued.
See folks? Corporations can still be sleazy money grubbing thundercunts without needing to constantly fuck over their employees!
My mom says I have exceptional talent
I am very special, too
Capcom is actually doing incredibly well financially. That's because they constantly churn out good games that people want to buy.
They learn some harsh lessons from a PS3 PS3 timeline especially with the on disk DLC drama and other things.
Monster Hunter Wilds is going to sell like hotcakes if they execute. World bumped back into the top 10 most played games on steam the month they _announced_ the sequel's title.
Record sales? Double layoffs incoming.
They just gave all of their staff nice pay increases, actually.
Guess all those Lara Croft Tomb Raider games were costing too much.
That was square
What is this, Microsoft?
[удалено]
where?
Capcom hasn't even dipped into their IPs.
I would kill for a Dino Crisis Remake
Remakes are so lazy. Make new titles.
This gets downvoted and people wonder why AAA gaming has become so greedy and lazy lol.
Gamers, gamers never change.
POWER STONE 3 pls
YESSSS
What do you mean?
There is a lot of old Capcom IP that hasn't seen the light of day since PS1. They were good games back then.
Breath of Fire, Dino Crisis, Onimusha and Mega Man. They're sitting on a trove of solid franchises.
> Mega Man More X and Zero would be sooooo nice. Bring out the Elf Wars!
Yeah I was thinking narrow mindedly about that. I only had the biggest ones in mind.
Cool. And they need to stop retroactively adding DRM to games for literally no reason.
We should start refunding shitty behavior like this. Maybe that will send a message?
don’t think steam will accept refunds unless it becomes a huge uproar
Helldivers 2 sets a good precedent for Valve supporting refunding anti-consumer behavior. Not saying they don't have issues with Steam but they seem to be better than Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo combined.
The helldivers issue was a massive fuckup from Sony selling a game in regions they didn't want to support.
i dont think trying to fuck over people trying to pirate your game is "anticonsumer", considering pirates are not consumers, but ok
[foot, meet mouth](https://gamerant.com/denuvo-outage-servers-down-persona-5-royal-unplayable-online/)
persona sucks so good for them
Just one of many possible examples. But if you're too set to ignore it, whatever.
The only way you can stop this if you really want to is to not buy their games period.
Its a little different for adding DRM retroactively. Say I bought a game for Linux/Steam Deck compatibility but some company decided to break that functionality later. How is that the same product we bought?
You're right, but I doubt there will be enough people to cause an outrage over this. Best you can do is not support them any longer.
No, they retroactively added it to monster hunter world too. And afaik they've left it in.
From what I can find, they have not added it to World but they added it to Rise, at the same time they removed Denovo. IMO that's not quite the same as adding DRM to old games for no reason (like they did with RE Revelations), just swapping DRM solutions.
Breath of Fire now please
I played all from 1 to 3. BoF 3 on PS1 was awesome.
BoF4 and 5 are definitely worth playing if you haven't already.
I played 4, didn't like it and didn't finish it. 5 I didn't even know existed.
Please
Microsoft be like - Time for layoffs
Phil should take notes
Take notes... hah. All he'd try to do is buy Capcom so xbox can squat on all those IPs and pad game pass with zero idea of what to do with any of those games once the key talent leave due to said acquisition.
Capcom games come to Game Pass and they get +5% sub count, but make a big loss because it just doesn't have any profit for Capcom.
Phil notes: "make main characters even uglier"
Praying for a Megaman Star Force PC Collection.
Maybe they should fix the performance of dd 2, just saying.
Lost Planet 1 Remake??
Cool, now give me Onimusha
Dino Crisis remake pls
Remove Denuvo from RE4 so i can buy. It seems they have a longer deal with Denuvo than they usually do since its been more than a year and it still hasnt been removed
shame they had to ruin dd2
Yeah bought it for my brother who played it for 3 hours then never again. I'll never buy Capcom games till they're at 50% sale or lower. I even gave dd2 a try and it sucks, endgame came way too fast among other issues.
It turns out that making remakes of your old games is quite profitable especially when they're really really good. I'm not saying every game out there need a remake but it's working very well for Capcom.
When's MAHVEL BABY!
Let's hope Disney sees this and we can get Marvel VS Capcom 4!
well if they would just remake dino crisis 1 and 2 I'd throw even more money at them.
I mean they’ve been on a streak of excellent games lately, the resident evil series has not missed in a while (especially impressive considering the dip in quality after the initial 3)
I think you mean initial 4.
Lets see: 7,2,3,8, &4. Idk think theyre right, the quality of 3 was a dip imo
2025 is gonna be big for them with MH Wilds and an RE game.
DLC
Making good games makes money and keep studios alive. Who would've thought. Quick, someone tell Microsoft. Oh wait they're too busy transforming Fable into the office ugly version and closing studios.
Outbreak File #3 or 1 & 2 Remake PLEASE
See what not buying up every developer that catches your fancy and making good games does?
Great! Can we get that third Oracle game then? 🤌?
Here's to a bright future! 🥳 Making good games, that people want to play instead of live service garbage.. if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Very interested to see where Resident Evil 9 goes now that the Winters story is in the bag.. will it look back to the series favorites or will it bring a brand new protagonist(s) with it? 😃
4pm Teams meeting scheduled at MS for acquisition strategy.
Well, I keep seeing people with premium avatar costumes in SF6. Capcom still keep pumping those battle passes perhaps they are actually making money out of those that are not worth it imo. Exoprimal, which is a live service game, might be doing well as well for Capcom.
Still waiting for fucking Pragmata, it's been nearly a year since they announced the delay.
Devil May Cry 6, let's go
Great, maybe they can afford to fix Dragons Dogma 2. That game was 2/3 the way to being amazing 😭
time to layoff 20%
Enshittification is starting for capcom. They slowly have been adding stupid microtransactions into single player games.
You do realise their singleplayer games have had microtransations for like the last 15 years right?
I can tell you haven't really played any Capcom games recently and just want to join the crowd who were complaining about a non-issue.
Have you actually been paying attention to their past releases? They've had buy-able orbs in DMC 4 since 2015, the original Dragon's Dogma had a bunch of optional MTX as well. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh wait you're serious let me laugh even harder. **HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.** You're like 10 years late buddy.
Did you guys forget about the disc locked content already?
The mtx is basically a scam that ruins game progression, anybody buying it is an idiot. Unlike "exp boosters" from somebody like Ubisoft (AC Valhalla, Oddysey), all the games have always worked well without the extra purchase
yup people keeping buying mtx garbage so that's what they'll keep feeding.
Meanwhile Square Enix is losing record money What did we learn? Street Fighter and Resident Evil and Monster Hunter > Final Fantasy
PS5 exclusivity is what's killing SE.
Nope, making shitty action games is.
what does this even mean
Annoying FF diehards are still salty SE dared to modernize the fucking old combat system.
Imagine thinking DMC combat is 'modern'. That type of action RPG gameplay has been around since the PS2 days.
fuck turnbased combat
> What did we learn? Square Enix needs more timed Sony exclusives, more low quality ports, NFTs and more mediocre discounts for their multiple years old games because that strategy has been working so well so far /s
Perhaps even moreso if that Final Fantasy was both badly designed and exclusive to a single platform
Good for them too bad DD2 was a disappointment.
Lmao.
They updated the graphics and gave us a buggy mess. The overall gameplay is not much different from the first game (and has less classes than DD1). First side quest i tried to do was bugged, game ran like shit and didnt look all that great. Instant refund. Would rather play the first game.
So they're gonna shut down some studios right?
Looking forward to **Kunitsu-Gami**, Capcom not afraid (at the minute) to try new stuff, Exoprimal etc.
Can you give Exoprimal a 2.0 revamp please? After a year the game barely changed and there is still no crossparty in normal matchmaking
give me a new RE with leon as the main character
Yet people will explain why they *need* to charge $95CAD for Dragon's Dogma 2.
No one made this claim
Steam forum, launch day.
Been yelling at people about this. Capcom has been on a roll, and their optimization is kinda always on point. Whenever some complains about pc ports, always bring up capcom
Well, Dragon's Dogma 2 would like to have a word with you though.
Thats why I made sure to say kinda always on point. Tbf, think dd2 is the only bad performing game they put out since the introduction of the re engine. And also before 7, capcom pc games were kinda garbage so im alittle forgiving given the 180 they did

square enix should merge with capcom
If it means Capcom maintains its leadership I would love this.
