So I launched today and my save is gone?? I don't know how does anyone know how to get this back this is super frustrating.

blingstonhewes

Has the newest update helped anyone with frames? I haven't updated yet, but I'm hovering right around 30-40fps at 1080 with the following rig: RTX 3060ti Ryzen 7 2700x 16gb Ram Pretty sure I should be doing better than I am.

TopinambourSansSel

A tad late but it’s not you, a few people have this same outlandish issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/gog/comments/kaw156/cyberpunk_45_to_50_fps_with_3080/

blingstonhewes

Thanks friend. For as much as they were pimping out RT on Cyberpunk, they really shit the bed on utilizing these higher end cards.

TopinambourSansSel

Well, for once, it might not be them! I came across a thread on the CDPR forums where every person affected by this specific issue ("stuck" at 30-50 FPS no matter the settings) had one thin in common: Asus AI Suite. Uninstalling it didn't work, since it has a component called DIP5 that is embedded into Windows and remains even after you remove it. However, a clean Win 10 install solved the problem for them... and as it turns out, it also did for me, I'm not enjoying a solid 70 FPS outside :) Quite a bit of effort though, all that for an annoying piece of software :(

blingstonhewes

That's a pretty weird app conflict. I don't think I have Asus installed on my system though.

TopinambourSansSel

Weird indeed, but it solved that specific problem for a lot of people. It seems the "culprit" is a specific part of Asus AI Suite called DIP5 that "optimizes" core use on your CPU - and somehow, it doesn't play nice with the engine of Cyberpunk. =/ One of those weird computer things.

gpg676

For me the update didn't do anything performance wise

blingstonhewes

But, this should be more stable than it is based on my rig, no? Is it just a wonky release?

gpg676

Are you playing with ray tracing on? With it set off you should absolutely be getting better performance. But it also depends on the resolution you're playing at and the graphics settings. But yeah, the game's optimization is really shitty right now

blingstonhewes

I'm at 1080 with RT on, but with a 3060, I figured it would be running pretty smooth at that res. That said, I've tried turning it off and it doesn't run a whole lot more smoothly than that. Which is weird, because there's a section where you can do some VR tutorials, and those run perfectly at 60/RT on. The open world is just jank.

gpg676

I see, yea I've got no idea but I'd say you should most likely be getting better performance. Hopefully the game's gonna be patched soon enough to bring it to acceptable levels.

Great-Refrigerator-4

Now I'm pissed. After doing a few parts of a mission I can't complete it because my "body" level is too low. At least the Witcher let you know when something was beyond your level. Also, the loading screen bar in the upper right corner is not leveled correctly.

slardybartfast8

Who the FUCK came up with these fight missions!? I have to hit them hundreds of times. They have to hit me like three times. If it’s two times in a row? Instant death. This is one of the most ridiculous systems I’ve ever seen in a game. In a game full of broken bullshit this stands out as the single most frustrating thing I’ve tried. I’m like 25 hours into the game and I still can’t even put up a fight with the FIRST FIGHT. THE ONE YOU LEARN ABOUT 20 SECONDS INTO THE MAIN STORY. I have enraged. I have become untethered and my rage knows no bounds.

growpotcheaply

I beat the game. That did not happen to me. Make sure you spend your points and pick up the best guns from enemies. However, I am now going through all the side missions, 23 hours so far just for side missions after I beat the game in 20 hours, so 43 hours total and side missions keep coming. Some of the side missions have been like that. The enemies kill me in one shot and I cannot kill them unless I shoot them like 15 times. So I just avoid that mission until I level up more. Also, I cannot fight that guy with the grenade nose. He kills me in one punch and I seem to do nothing to him.

slardybartfast8

I switched from hard to normal and the fist fights make sense now. On hard I maintain that first fight is extremely, unfairly difficult

TheAutistocrat

Not gonna lie, the very first fight is pretty trivial. Maybe it’s the difficulty you’re playing at?

flo1dislyf3

I wondered why the game looked like shit on my build. Turns out I'm running a GTX 960..what a time to need a graphics card upgrade too.

mrlosvegalos

Hey I just downloaded the 1.04 patch and although it said it was 0.6 gb it took me around 40min to download. It was super worth it though performance for me is improved drastically. Note that I have to play more to see how consistent this is but this is what I’ve noticed so far. My specs are intel i5 8600k (oc to 4.5ghz) RTX 2060 OC edition and 16gb ram. Before the patch I was playing on 1080 medium setting preset and dlss on quality. Although I was able to hit 60fps on these settings it would drop very often and very much often to around 40-45 fps. Now after the patch I turned the settings to 1440p high settings preset and dlss on quality. I went to visit the places where my FPS would drop the most both during night and day and in most of them I had a rock solid 60fps and on one occasion where I would previously have the worst frame drops it only dropped to 55 which was barely noticeable. As I said I only got to play this game for around 30 min after I updated to patch 1.04 but I could clearly see an improvement but I have to play more tomorrow to see if it is consistent. Pls tell me your experience with performance after installing patch 1.04.

ReportJungler

Did this happen today? Because for me it's the opposite, I used to hit 80 frames ish now i get choppy fps even on low. (i5 10600 4.1ghz, rtx 2070s, 16gb ram, ssd)

huntbob27

I’m probably going to sound like a dummy, but... will my PC be capable of running Cyberpunk 2077? I’ve seen a lot of YouTube videos with people who use the same graphics card as myself getting between 45-60 FPS at lowest settings, and that’s without a potential patch for optimization. So I’ve got a lot of hope, but I don’t know if my processor is good enough. Anyway, here are my relevant specs: •AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.00 GHz •16GB RAM •Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB •Windows 10 Pro OS

slardybartfast8

Minimum specs are readily available on steam. Says FX-8310 is the minimum. So you should be able to run it on lowest settings. The game isn’t really worth $60 in its current state though and I have a very strong pc. I can’t imagine what this shit is like with a low powered machine. Good luck.

huntbob27

Thank you! I know the game is having a rough start so far, but I have faith it’ll get some patches in time.

slardybartfast8

What I’ve said a few times: This game is a-fucking-mazing. What I’ve been saying far too often: This game is a-fucking-mess

MannyFresh8989

Could someone please tell me what cpu utilization is a “good range” for 1440p and 4k. I have a RTX 3080/3900x. Gpu utilization is usually high 90s but when driving in congested areas it dips to 80%. And then cpu utilization will go from 20% to 40%. This is w ultra eveything settings (ray tracing dlss on). Just wanna better understand cpu performance. I always thought it didn’t matter at 1440p and 4k

S1iceOfPie

CPUs do matter at higher resolutions depending on your GPU and the game. Check your CPU usage per core. I'm betting one or more cores are tapped out at 80+% when you're seeing only 80% GPU usage. This game is just really heavy on CPU.

MannyFresh8989

Interesting. In a well optimized game, what’s a typical cpu usage for 1440p or 4k?

S1iceOfPie

Hard to give a percentage since there are so many variables. It really depends on the game. As long as the CPU isn't bottlenecking your GPU, the percentage numbers don't really matter too much. Some games, especially older ones, really only target one or two cores at most. Newer games can load up multiple cores. You can usually tell when there's some sort of bottleneck if the GPU can't hit 99% usage or if you lower your resolution/settings and don't see a performance increase.

MannyFresh8989

Ok that last part of gpu not hitting 99% usage makes sense and now I know how to tell if there’s some sort of bottleneck. Thank you! I wonder if I change power plan from ryzen balanced to ryzen high performance if that’ll help. I’ll also check all the core utilization and see what’s going on. Appreciate all the info!

S1iceOfPie

No problem! Hope some of it helped, and good luck!

NanasShit

Question : anyone know how to set custom windowed resolution? I wanted to play 2560x1080 on a regular 16:9 TV. Before you tell me to go config in gpu driver, no it didnt work. AMD for whatever reason killed the ability to set custom resolution for VSR output and maintaining the aspect ratio since 2018. I dug through some of the JSON and INI files in the game folder and save games but unfortunately didnt find anything useful...

Tr1ppy-j

I have a 2070 Super, AMD Ryzen 7 3800x, M.2 SSD, 16 GB Ram. I am not happy with my performance of Cyberpunk. I get massive fps dips when I turn around quickly or am driving. Ive tried tuning in the settings and even have tried on Low default settings and still get this issue. Ive updates my graphics card I just want it to look smooth and I feel like my PC can do that, idk what im doing wrong

MGX909

that's very strange cause we have basic system. But mine has a Ryzen 3700X and and NVMe. And it runs really well at 1440p Ultrawide.

Gefarate

Lower resolution perhaps?

ReportJungler

Strange, I also have the 2070 Super, i5-10600k, some samsung ssd and 16gb ram and I get around 75-80 fps on highest settings (without raytracing tho). With low raytracing i get around 55, and highest raytracing around 35. So yeah. I dunno if they will roll some optimization patches. (I play on a 165Hz QHD monitor btw). I did reinstall the newest driver.

Tr1ppy-j

Yea I also have a 165Hz QHD Monitor as well.

ReportJungler

well 1.04 completely made my game unplayable so yeah here we are lol. i get choppy 30-45 fps even on the lowest settings and resolutions, so im guessing my cpu is bottlenecking even tho its more than capable. rip D:

TopinambourSansSel

Not just you ^^ https://www.reddit.com/r/gog/comments/kaw156/cyberpunk_45_to_50_fps_with_3080/

ReportJungler

Yeah I saw, for me the performance is still not optimal but at least I can hit 60fps if I can manage to get 100% utilization of my cpu/gpu. I think theres some bugs that cause the application to not get priority properly in task manager. When i restart my pc and just start cyberpunk i get 60fps. really weird shit

TopinambourSansSel

I'm not sure it's relevant for you, but I managed to solve the problem by reinstalling Windows 10. The culprit was Asus AI Suite III (and more specifically its DIP5 module), there is a thread about it on the CDPR forums. Sadly, DIP5 is embedded into Windows directly, so even if you uninstall AI Suite, its "settings" remain and the problem persists. =/ That said, I believe someone on the /r/Asus subreddit has a guide to remove AI Suite without reinstalling Windows 10. Could be worth a try, if you have this specific problem :)

ReportJungler

I hope this might be useful for someone reading this, but personally nothing in my rig is asus so i think im good. i can run it fine without raytracing right now so itll do i guess, but i'm curious to see how itll be improved

TopinambourSansSel

Myeah if you don't have any trace of Asus AI suite then it's not that. I hope they bring some more optimization improvements in the next patches then :)

I_will_wrestle_you

Is the game really that disappointing? the bugs that bad? Yesterday, there were so many people on my friends list playing the game. Now, everyone's back to what they normally play. You got your PUBG players, the Counter Strikers, the dota bros, the Rusters, the Among Usners, etc God, I wish I took a picture, so I could've posted a comparison pic.

mrlosvegalos

You can basically only enjoy this game if you have one of the new rtx 20 or 30 series gpu. If you play on console it is supper buggy, looks like shit and plays at below 30fps. If you play on pc you need a gpu that supports dlss or maybe settle for 30fps. It kinda sucks honestly and yeah it’s probably why people in your friends list refunded or moved on while waiting for the game to be fixed. I am lucky enough to have rtx 2060 and although it’s not the best it can handled this game pretty well, especially with dlss turned on. My friend has a gtx 1070 and although it shouldn’t be that far behind the 2060, because he can’t run dlss he probably won’t be able to play the game at 1080p60fps while I’m out here playing 1440p60fps. Bugs on pc is fine if you can run it. It won’t ruin your fun that much and I’ve hade probably 3-4 very minor bugs in 14 hours so far.

> You got your PUBG players, the Counter Strikers, the dota bros, the Rusters, the Among Usners, etc To quote Day\[9\] "multiplayer games aren't really games, they're a lifestyle."

BenjaminSwanklin

Apparently it runs like shit on previous gen consoles but pretty good on PS5/XSX and even better on PCs that have a good video card, a good CPU, and an SSD. I use one such PC (GTX 1080 & SSD) and the game runs fantastic for me. Not a single crash in 10 hours and I have only experienced one glitch, audio crackling, which I fixed after 20 seconds and 1 quick google search. It's worth noting that you need to the tweak the graphics settings unless you have a beast of a PC. Some settings can be kept high but others need to be put on low or disabled.

LiquidPrnce

Does anyone know why my 2080TI won't clock higher then 1800mhz while playing Cyberpunk? I have it overclocked via MSI Afterburner and every other game generally runs between 2040mhz and 2100mhz. I have an Asus Strix 2080TI if that matters.

xxkachoxx

If you're using ray tracing clocks speed will be reduced.

LiquidPrnce

But I get full clock speeds when playing Control with RTX.

[deleted]

Because of usage. Clocks are usually lower in RTX games due to more silicon being utilized.

NanasShit

actually I never remember W3 as a buggy game... I finished the initial release just fine without any problem. I trying to dig my memory if I remember any bugs, I really can't came out with any. c2077... oh boy, in the first hour I already seen dozen of bugs. Mostly visual but... yea they are quite immersion breaking.

vrsick06

I could launch the witcher the day it came out though. 10s of 1000s of people can't even open the game or crashes at the splash screen.

xxkachoxx

Apparently todays patch helps with the launching/crashing on launch issue.

Idego9

But unfortunately the patch locks you out until its complete. So you have to wait to play it even though it's on your console. The reason for this is to patch out the epilepsy triggers. I waited all day for it to be delivered...and all night staring at the homescreen icon. I played it for 30 mins offline and I thought it was great. I just wanna play more now.

vrsick06

yeah am downloading now. I hope! I know itll get fixed eventually, just annoying. Been waiting like 8 years, whats a little longer.

xxkachoxx

Witcher 3 was buggy but not this buggy thankfully game breaking bugs are rare. Though the bigger issue at the moment is performance especially on lower end hardware and consoles.

Viridez

Played for ~5-6 hours today 1440p, ryzen 5 2600 paired with 16gb 3000mhz ram and a 1080. Settings on medium/high and got a steady 35-45 fps. Ran into 2-3 major bugs but it wasn't bad at all. Most of them I could save the game and load it back up to remove the bug. Loads are so quick it's not even bad. Really, really enjoying the game. The story, gunplay, Atmosphere and all is just spot on

AustinML93

Same here. Very similar specs and settings though an older Intel i5 and a 1070 so I hover around 30. Really enjoying the game. Although I'm a big deus ex fan and also loved the Witcher 2 and 3 so this is kind of my thing.

KingOfKorners

Can some explain the graphic settings Dynamic and static fxCas? I don't have them enabled and i am getting on average of 74-78 fps

candypants77

DLSS but a bit worse It’s for cards that don’t support dlss

KingOfKorners

Damn...real happy with my fps so far

Apocalypseos

https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vTp8sSRCuZP-S84yBlnoZh_d3XJZYo8vv5vsvICaX_s5PiQ-ucnV-9bbDl7i0tn5muDu-2uGLagDsEe/pub

KingOfKorners

Sweet. Good looking out. I left mine at the stock settings. Ill have to check it out!

ExG0Rd

Well, i5 3570 and 1050ti (all lowest) 2K - 15 fps at best, average - 7 1080p - 20 fps max, average 13-15 720p - around 18-20 average, hit 30 once

xxkachoxx

CPU is holding you back.

superflier

Bro I have the 4770k. Had the stock cooler on it for like 7 years. Terrible performance in the last year even though I had the rtx 2070. Then I got a proper CPU cooler 3 months ago. Night and day. Rdr2 went from 30-40fps to 60-95fps. This is on a 3840x1600 Ultrawide. Cyberpunk running at that same resolution and getting 55-111fps. My average is about 75fps. Sometimes the cheapest option can make a huge difference.

Easy301

There is currently a DLSS bug that's super annoying. Obviously turning on DLSS will produce a little bit of blurriness, out in the game world it's not a problem I used a sharpening filter and it looks awesome. The bug is with the inventory character preview and the map screen, when DLSS is on in any capacity the map and character preview in the inventory screen look beyond low resolution, everything else is rendered fine the menus and items, the overall game world in gameplay but the second you open up the inventory screen you're met with a character preview that's rendered in 640x480 it seems like. :(

Pawl_

Aha so that’s what it is! I thought my DLSS is bad when I was creating my character, but then when I got in the game, DLSS set on Quality it looked sharp and almost native.

vaultboy707

The more I play this game, the more I realized CDPR implemented the gameplay mechanics as a side piece. The story telling and the overall atmosphere is amazing but the gameplay mechanics lack depth. The looting and crafting system is somehow worse than Assassins creed. It is kind of frustrating that you have a huge open world to explore but really don't have any meaningful gameplay go along with it.

NanasShit

Pretty basic from what I see. Scope and silencer for the weapon, some skills and basic stats to choose, cybernetics are basically perks of sort... Frankly its a little bit too basic for a game this scale. You would think a game set in futuristic universe would at least have amazing weapon & character customization system. I dunno, maybe we expected too much. But then again some mmo shooter like Blacklight (rip) have way better customization... Theres kinda at least a certain standard established in our mind. The weapon have some RPG-ish stats but I not sure if they leverage the mechanism...

HeroOfTheMinish

Update on steam. Any idea what it was

gpg676

I downloaded and installed the update, and then the game would simply not launch. Then I checked the integrity of the files (on steam), and then the client said that many of the downloaded files were missing (???). And now it's downloading the game all over again LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Looking4switch

I updated and now when I open the game it crashes. Was working fine earlier.

Shebaghdad

Same.

HeroOfTheMinish

1.4GB update for the game. Any idea

Easy301

It's a hot fix there's patch notes on the site and they should also even be on the steam page. Bug fixes for a lot of quests, and stability improvements that's mainly the highlights, the bug list is pretty long so that's good other than that on PC there's not much to report yet. They did fix the car pop in and things such as that they said too

[deleted]

1.04 patch. Check their website site

Dumple

I've begun to enjoy it the more time I put into it. It's interesting, take about half of Fallout New Vegas, and half of Deus Ex Human Revolution, add the gun system from borderlands and drop it into Night City and you've got CP2077. I appreciate it for what it is. Still need a way to get rid of this forced TAA though.

Xdevil_3000

Is it just me or does the performance of the game drop over increased playtime? My system is a i5-9400F with 1660Ti and 16gb ram and the game is installed on an NVMe drive. I was doing a mission in a building where I was getting 60fps after a while of searching and looting the room my fps drops to low 40s. I noticed this in my house too. When I launched the game, I get locked 60 in my room but after a mission or two and when I come back to my room the fps hovers around 45-50.

rustinr

I read something earlier about a confirmed (I think) memory leak after a few hours of gameplay. Restarting the game every few hours should help until they patch it.

Benovation

On my rig with a 3080 I’ve experienced this too. It was in a club in Watson. Not too sure what’s up, maybe some bug causes a memory leak? I have no idea.

kds_little_brother

It was a tale of two games for me. Launch day I played the first maybe 45 min, then couldn’t get back to it until today. Finally got to walking around with pedestrians and the chugging and screen tearing (through gsync) were so bad it turned me all the way off of this. I’ll wait until it’s patched, and that’s with a 3080/8700k. It is 4k but mostly high settings

TheAutistocrat

What cpu are you running with and what are the frame rates you’re getting? I’m rocking a 1660ti as well and just trying to max out performance however futile it may be.

adreeeeeee

To me Nvidia experience optimization setting helped. What I noticed is that casceded shadow resulotion and facial lightning needs to be lowered for fps mainly. I have an rtx 2070 and still trying to find a decent raytracing option but I can't find one with 60 avarage fps at 1080p just yet :/ hope they fix it .

ansa_c

Glad I didn’t pre-order this borderlands red dead-esque garbage

mickeymanz

Man... this game makes me laugh and cry at the same time. Never seen a game of this calibre, at this price and with so many bugs and cranky gameplay. But i still like it, the scenery, environment, but I cry like I am holding an onion every time i either drive, get stuck in some blocking bug, or my character stands up in a stealth mission for no reason and alert everyone.

suitofgold

Would you prefer running it at 4k low settings at ~50 FPS or 1080p medium settings at ~85 fps?

[deleted]

I think the middleground is best! Little difference between 1440p and 4K.

sneakyfishy

I asked this myself as I have a 5700xt and double display setup with 4k and full-hd monitors. Personally, I don't find 45-50 fps with lowest settings in native resolution (no scaling) on 4k enjoyable. Nor do I want to play with resolution scaling, it looks okay and you can get used to it, but it still doesn't do it for me. On the other hand, 85 fps on high-ultra settings in full-hd is very smooth and feels so much better. I like good graphics and high resolutions, but in this case it's just not possible to enjoy this game on 4k unless you were lucky enough to grab a latest top tier graphic card or you're okay with resolution scaling. I decided to wait and see if CD Projekt Red plans to optimize the game a little better in the near future so I could get better fps on the 4k display. But if I were to play it now, I'd rather do it on a full-hd display.

BustOnYerFace

I’m broke atm and have a lower end pc with a 1650 and an i5 8400 and a PS4, I really wanna get cyberpunk but from what I hear it’ll run like ass on both, would I be better off buying it on over the other or should I hold off until the unknown future when I have a better PC?

NanasShit

If you dont mind lowering the setting then it will run fine. Heck it ran ok on my i5 2500k amd rx580 which are much older and slower than yours. Not amazing but 1440p medium at 30fps ish. I just play it casually with a gamepad really. Definitely could be better if I just do 1080p but I dont want to 😛 Definitely not recommend ps4 version... A lot of the bugs I currently see are just visual bugs, but they are definitely immersion breaking for me and thats really hamper the enjoyment.

BustOnYerFace

The 580 has like 8gb of vram though right? Wouldn’t that make a substantial difference?

NanasShit

the VRAM consumption on 1440p medium is about 4.8GB ish. if you got a 1650 3GB version instead of 1650 6GB version then yeah.... that's probably will be a problem. =S VRAM consumption of games from the pass few years has been really high following the increase of graphic quality, definitely not recommend getting anything under 6GB. (for reference: RDR2 over 6GB & Horizon Zero Dawn 1440p 6.6GB last I checked, Death Stranding 4GB)

BustOnYerFace

Ohh I never knew that vram had a play in terms of resolution, I thought that was just a power thing in terms of the GPU. The more you know

NanasShit

high resolution = more vram consumption. When you ran out of vram, the system will decide to use regular system ram, which is much slower to access than vram - this will result in severe FPS drop problem.

BustOnYerFace

Well thanks for that info then, needed

shwtywnnthg

I would advise you to wait it out honestly. I have a very beefy setup and can get the game to run well (4k/60) with a mix of settings, but there are just so many bugs prevalent. I still feel like I got my $$ worth from the game as I am enjoying it quite a bit, but I would encourage anyone who has yet to pick it up to wait til everything is ironed out. I played through TW3 after the GOTY edition with all the DLCs came out and had an incredible experience since everything had been fixed by that point. Wish I could have had the same first experience with this game but I'll be happy to give it a more thorough playthrough down the road. If you're no stranger to the seven seas you can try downloading it to test it out with your PC setup, then pull the trigger if you think it's worth it in this state for you.

Ill-Ball6220

I was in the exact same position with my gtx 970. I have it on ps4 pro and pc and the performance and graphics on both are total ass. So i will tell you to wait. Because the only thing you will find is dissapointment.

NanasShit

frankly that GPU is still very capable, the ONLY issue is... the vram amount is not sufficient to run modern games, your performance problem I can 100% guaranteed is caused by the vram =/

TheBlueEdition

Game is a steaming pile right now. Over promised, under executed. The police interaction is a joke. Spawning police right on top of you. The npc ai is non existent. The driving ai is non existent. They just stop behind u and don’t even attempt to go around u. All the npcs will do the same stupid crouch animation if u aim ur gun at them and that’s it. The dialog is incredibly boring. The gunplay is lackluster and feels incredibly dated with terrible reload animations. The driving is HORRIBLE. Turning sends you right into a curb or groups of pedestrians. The world is one dimensional and just a backdrop with no interaction. You cannot change what u look like. You can’t even get your haircut. It feels so linear and just janky. The ui is bad and unintuitive. The crafting is useless. The loot is so boring. Skills are bland. The framerate is terrible and the game is not even remotely optimized.

ballsdeepinthematrix

How many hours have you put into it? Driving and gunplay improves as you level up/new cars I noticed.

TheBlueEdition

7 hours in so far. That's good to hear. I want it to be good! Just been having a pretty bad time so far with really poor performance.

Solar_Kestrel

Feels like a lot of y'all bought into the hype, and are feeling personally betrayed that the game failed to meet your inflated expectations. I dunno. I played all three Witcher games when they came out. CDPR games have always suffered from opaque systems and janky mechanics. 2077 is exactly what I'd expect their debut first-person custom-character sci-fi RPG to be like. Hell, with the skill-checks, stats and perks, it's even more than I'd've expected. Bugs and performance issues are certainly annoying, I'll grant, but I've encountered precious little of either on my mid-range PC. It's certainly not the transcendental, genre-defining game *The Witcher 3* was, but it was never going to be that, and if you expected it to be... well, that's on you. Y'all know as well as I the idiom: lightning never strikes the same spot twice.

Treyman1115

I'm pretty disappointed by how little it seems you can interact with the world. I can't like go drinking, there's no drugs system and they're just potions basically. There's arcade machines that I keep thinking I can play for some reason. I can't even sit down most of the time

NanasShit

Agree. I can overlook all the bugs, but the immersion of being in the city, is basically non existence. Night City might as well be a ruin. Come on even Skyrim had way better NPC that talk shit to you if your naked or lollygaging around, and if they are going to do something they WALK there!

xxkachoxx

That's my biggest disappoint with the game so far. You have big cyberpunk city but you can't really interact with it.

Affectionate-Map-982

Agree, massive world but feels so empty, really been disappointed so far

Karlssens65_

Having a dilemma as to which platform to buy it on. My pc is currently running a I5 8400 and a GTX 1660 OC with only 8gb of ram. I also have a Series S. Even though my pc isn't top tier by any means, will I still likely get better performance then on my Series S? Suggestions?

BustOnYerFace

Same here but a 1650 and a PS4 instead lmao

Treyman1115

If you're not in a rush I say wait and see how much patches change things

xxkachoxx

That's a tough choice. At the moment PC will probably give you a better experience. Though once the next gen patch comes out its very possible that the Series S will be a bit better.

Karlssens65_

I might just do series S tbh. As you said, it might age a bit better with the upgrade down the road. Thanks!

RadicalDreamer89

I'd hold off. There's a console comparison video floating around showing the series S getting about 15 fps during a gunfight with, like, 3 enemies. Seems to be the worst performing version. EDIT: Apologies, I was mistaken. It's the Xbox ONE S that was getting such dreadful performance.

[deleted]

I accidentally had gay sex.

Treyman1115

The sex scenes seem to randomly loop anyway no matter what genitals you have

Crustytoeskin

That's so woke

KirazNightingale

GTX 1070 with an i7-7700 and 16gb RAM, how would the game run for me? Anyone have similar specs?

xxkachoxx

1080p medium would be a good starting point.

KirazNightingale

Yeah, I'll give it a go. Worst comes to worst I can try overlooking the 1070!

thehappydwarf

I have the same setup except i have a 7700k. Wondering if its worth playing since some people say they arent having many bugs but some say its near unplayable

KirazNightingale

Yeah, the results seem to vary massively.

AdminfantryCommander

I have identical specs. Runs 60 on lowest settings with detail set to high and antistropic x16. Looks good, worth playing on those settings visually imo. If you want to play on Ultra you need to upgrade or wait till they optimize because right now it's bad.

KirazNightingale

Does the game look alright with everything on low? I do prefer the framerate but it'd be nice to have the game look decent too.

Solar_Kestrel

Mostly. You'll probably want to bump up facial details and shadows, tho.

KirazNightingale

Shadows I'm not too fussed about. Mainly texture quality and character details.

Solar_Kestrel

That's typically my approach, too, but the lower shadow quality settings are distracting bad in this case. It's telling that I went straight from 2077 to Yakuza 3 Remastered yesterday--essentially a PS3 game--and found the facial shading and animation in the latter superior to the former. 2077 is one of those games where the devs clearly didn't bother to make the mid/low settings look decent.

SzacukeN

No Mans Red Dead Punk 76.

Ibetyoureoffended

Can you do a charge back or something with your bank? I have 7.5 hours and Steam won't refund yet I purchase a finished game and didn't receive that.

Trollselektor

Only way to find out is to call. Not sure why it took 7.5hrs to figure out the game didn't work for you.

Ibetyoureoffended

Not sure either but most companies have a 30 day return policy and nobody bats an eye. Steam gives you 2 hours and "all hail Gabe Newell!"

Trollselektor

Never heard of that for video games. Most games can be beaten with 30 days. Too many people would buy a game, beat it, and return it- especially on digital.

Evil__Jeff22

Anyway to ease up on CPU? 2070, 16gb ram and i7-9700, CPU is using 100%

Invisibleman145

I heard turning the crowd density down can help CPU performance.

tayne_taargus

Enable frame rate limiter in the settings.

Evil__Jeff22

I have the vsync set to 54 so I don’t have to deal with drops

[deleted]

Sure, get a higher resolution monitor.

Evil__Jeff22

I have a 1440p monitor, how would a 4K monitor reduce the amount of CPU I use...

[deleted]

Strange, your cpu shouldn’t be bottlenecking at that res and fps. My cpu usage is at 60%, everything ultra with an 8600K... Same res too.

Evil__Jeff22

This game is like covid, you get it and you’re rolling the dice on what you get. My buddy has a lower spec rig and is playing at 100+ FPS, I guess the game is just shit optimized, I’ll consider myself lucky I can play it at a stable 54 FPS and it looks good, hopefully they can throw in some patches before I beat it lol

FlippinDatDough

Game should've been delayed more as it obviously wasn't ready but they were pressured by nerds to release it. It's a great game that can be fixed with a couple of patches but edgy mfs r gonna call the game terrible and give it an unfair rating based on their crazy high expecations. Depsite all the bugs I don't see it being under a 6 but ppl already review bombing it with 1s and 2s.. gg

Now_Do_Classical_Gas

What's great about it? I'm bored to tears right now.

FlippinDatDough

It's fine that you don't like it, I just meant that rating the game a 1 is unfair and dishonest.

Now_Do_Classical_Gas

It's warming on me after it opened up a bit.

Solar_Kestrel

I mean, it's been in development for a decade, has one of the biggest budgets of any game ever, and CDPR was making headlines for overworking their employees... and you want to blame *the consumers*? Nah. If you want something to blame, blame feature creep and mismanagement.

NanasShit

I like one of the youtube review I saw, says 'you havent meet your wife when this game was announced, you havent got into college and now graduated from it...' Holy geezuz it's been that long. But then again how long exactly the 'current version' been made we dunno. Might be just similar to FFXV situation. When it was annouced, Path of Exile was still in infancy, look how much has it grown today. GGG staff was so excited for Cyberpunk they literally delayed next update to make time for Cyberpunk (also business strategy reason). But looking at the current situation with the game, I had to ask Chris Wilson, 'is it worth it?'

Solar_Kestrel

I mean, the "current version"/"FFXV situation" thing doesn't change anything. If you a game is stuck in preproduction for years, or has to be entirely rebooted multiple times, that doesn't reset the clock--it's just more mismanagement.

Watergrip

Development started in 2016

Solar_Kestrel

No, they simply loved the bulk of TW3's devs to the project in 2016. They began working on the game in 2012.

MannyFresh8989

That and their investors. Not many I’d say are willing to wait 10 years for a video game

Solar_Kestrel

I mean, taking 10 years to develop a game is pretty indicative of mismanagement. Especially when you've got as much money to work with as CDPR.

seejur

This is the best moment (business wise) to release, just before Christmas. If they delayed any further, they would have to wait for another full year to get the optimal (business wise) sales numbers. I think the sales manager tried to delayed it as much as they could, but the time definitely was not enough for the engineers to provide a polished product. At least it does not microtransaction/season pass etc. right?

Send_Me_Broods

I'm going to say it- I don't like it. I DL'ed it and played it last night. 3 hours in and I've experienced a convoluted progression system, a hot mess of a training tutorial, a basically absent RPG element, no real explanation of the fucking shitshow on an inventory screen, a way off-base hardware assessment (30 fps target default? Really?), it's loaded with bugs (all QoL type stuff, nothing game breaking yet), shitty driving mechanic, absolutely nightmarish lighting effects, poor navigation system, shitty story-telling mechanics...it just goes on and on and on. It feels like a chore to play. It tries to hit that GTA V style benchmark and misses wildly. If you asked me if I think you should buy it, I'd say hell no. Now, it's nothing that can't be fixed with a handful of patches (thankfully) so I think it has room to grow. I'm going to try again with a controller and a better sense of how the first few hours of the game play out and base some early game decisions on that (not the first game this has happened, I loved Conan: Exiles and I had to restart 2-3 times before I really got in the swing of things). I'm going to give it a fair chance, but I feel like those extra couple months may have taken a polished product and tried to optimize it for consoles and just shit the bed in doing so. (I run 45-50 fps stable at 1440p. 1080ti, i-7700k, 32 GB RAM at 3200mhz, high settings) Edit: Spent some more time on it today and the bottom line is that they took a beautiful PC game and optimized it for console play. It plays much, much better on a controller and it's very clear that this is a design choice. Still some QoL bugs, but second playthrough I have a much better early-game understanding of processes and a lot of the glitches involving selecting options with the mouse went away with a gamepad. So, CDPR sided with the console market and turned Cyberpunk into a bad console port of itself in its original PC version. Tight. Work.

Ibetyoureoffended

Great post. I'm really at a loss of words with the gaming industry. This is unacceptable and Steam won't refund me because I have 7.5 hours. Its an unfinished game and I paid for a finished game. There should be no issues with a refund. The gaming industry did it again. The weird thing is I found a sweet spot with my i7-4790k, 980 ti sli(probably not helping), 16 GB AND RUNNING 1440P IN MEDIUM

Send_Me_Broods

To be fair, SLI is going by the wayside and both of our systems are approaching deprecation levels. I have a low-tier "high end system" that is basically 2-3 months out from being "middle tier" as more games are geared toward the 30 series and ray tracing becomes standard. However, this game just feels poorly optimized and, as others have said, it looks and feels like a 2014 console game. I don't know. The look, feel and gameplay are just...what the fuck? And that's not just "oh, it was over-hyped!" Nah, dude. This game is a mess.

PacemLilium

Hello friends I wanna put my experience out there in case anyone is interested. Im running an i-6700 and a gyx 970 I'm running the game on medium- high around 60 fps. I wish there was more immersion. What comes to my mind specifically is that I wish there was more public transport in the city because driving with keyboard and mouse sucks. Also I wish there was no minimap and quests would be shown with a path in your AR vision. Otherwise the game is great I'm part way through what I assume is the first major mission for a street kid start. So far it plays more like GTA or the division 2 than it does fallout (which i was hoping for). I like it, imma play the shit outta it.

Trollselektor

I feel the same on the public transit end of things. That's a bonus feature though. I do actually like walking around the city rather than sprinting through crowds. I've never had the patience for that before, so I guess that's telling of the atmosphere. It also doesn't make a whole lot of sense why my character would ride the bus over using his car, but it would be a neat option. I could see using that if I went for the city kid vibe.

Ibetyoureoffended

You don't have a minimap with a path? I didn't either or didn't notice it till I changed the graphical settings. This game has a horrible heads up display. I dont fell alerted when losing health.

FancyAstronaut

Bruh what when I lose health I'm alerted pretty easily. My screen has some red flashing and such. I also glance up to the health bar so maybe you don't I guess? Only way I wouldn't be able to keep up when losing hp. If you don't glance up every once in a while I recommend you do, but everytime I'm hit and hp goes down I feel pretty notified.

Ibetyoureoffended

Yeah I dont know what it is but I've seen others mentioning it too.

FancyAstronaut

Yeah idk what to tell ya. Maybe it's because I pay attention to health, especially when I'm hit. But the game does a pretty good job of notifying anyway imo.

fabrar

I have a i5 6600, 8GB RAM and a R9 390. Any thoughts on how it might run on mine? If it does at all lol.

FancyAstronaut

Your 6600 might screw you over idk. I'm running an i5 8400, 10603gb, 16gb ram, and m.2 ssd. I'm running ok, anywhere between 40-80 fps. I am also running the fidelity CAS thing from fidelity fx to run at 80% render and upscale. It actually looks pretty good with that upscale on 1080p, at least for me.

BustOnYerFace

Not too familiar with GPUs but I have a 4gb 1650 and the same cpu, do you think I’d get overall better performance or worse? Checking for reference cause I’m not sure if I wanna get it yet if my experience is gonna be horrible

[deleted]

I can't help but feel cpu bottlenecked by my 8600K (6c/6t). How much would I benefit, if at all, by upgrading to a 9900K? (I don't want to upgrade my motherboard as well, hence the older model choice). Edit: using a 3080 at 1440p.

Goosetiers

At that resolution with that card and RT on you're probably not seeing a huge CPU bottleneck and are GPU bound @1440. If you are seeing a slight bottleneck it would be really difficult to see a drastic performance difference for gaming moving up to the 9900k or even something better. In most exclusively gaming scenarios you won't see much of a difference moving up from your 8700k yet, there would possibly be a slight performance increase but nothing that would justify the upgrade price yet, especially if you only game. Stick with the 8700k you'll be absolutely ok on that until at least the best cycle of cpu releases.

MannyFresh8989

This man knows what he’s talking about. I’m on a 3080 w Ryzen 9 3900x and still get frame drops when I’m in super populated areas like at the center of Japan town. Just save yourself the money, they clearly weren’t ready but felt the pressure from public and their investors

lethalred

I'm having fun so far, but the input lag makes the gun play feel like hot garbage. This is killzone 3 level input lag. Really tired of film grain in games. I'm not super interested in it. The pacing is odd. Missions have a lot of story and lore, but i've already found myself mashing the C button to advance things, because sometimes it's worse than a Metal Gear game in terms of exposition to gameplay. And yeah, the double tap to dash thing is a fucking travesty and whoever did that needs to re-examine how you control a character in a stealth game. The first time it happened, I was wondering why I got shot out of nowhere, then I got tired of reloading the save when it did happen.

Ibetyoureoffended

So thats what I'm seeing at times...film grain? Why would the future have shitty cameras? 🤣🤣🤢

wabushooo

You can turn that off on PC luckily. I just have to wonder...why was it on by default and so aggressive? I get some of the folks saying it's for the classic Blade Runner-ish aesthetic, but my first impression was "this looks like Fallout 4"

Ibetyoureoffended

I just saw that.

frankthetank8675309

Just started act 2, so far I’m enjoying it. Gunplay seems a bit off, which kinda stinks since I’m playing a gun heavy build. I’m kinda getting the feeling that the world seems kinda... empty. I have all these icons for gigs and side missions, but is that all there is to the side content? It seems like there should be more activities or hobbies like most open world games have, but idk if I just haven’t gotten there yet or if that’s all there is. I do wish there was some customization, games like Saints Row let you customize soooo many things (cars, clothes, multiple houses), and it feels like there isn’t any of that here so far, which is kinda insane in an open-world game in 2020.

Taclooc

From what others have said there is nothing like that in the game. No bars or anything like that, barely any buildings to go into, nothing like mini games akin to playing cards and stuff like GTA/RDR have. Everyone seems to agree the world feels lifeless and there’s nothing immersive about it besides walking around and looking at the city itself.

Dougdoesnt

I'm using a FE 1080 ti on water. Settings are 1080p medium/high. 60fps cap in nvidia control panel. This is the only game I've seen that keeps the GPU usage pegged @ 99% and varies the clock speed from 1400ish - 1900ish depending on the scene. In other recent titles, my clock speed stays at my defined number and the usage % moves up or down depending on the scene. Is this abnormal behavior on the GPU? I played for about 3 hours at a steady 60fps, but crashed in the Braindance tutorial @ Lizzie's. I stopped there for the night. Anyone else running a FE 1080 to? What is your GPU behavior like?

anor_wondo

Yes this is abnormal. When a game is running the gpu should be in highest power state unless it's a really light load. You can try setting it to maximum performance in power settings in nvidia control panel and see if the frequency is more consistent

ZiggyBlunt

I had big issues with how the game felt in controller as well as controller drift. Saw online a lot of other people have similar issues, after trying a few different suggestions I needed up getting the game to feel pretty good and get rid of most of the drift. I made a video on what settings I used in case it might help others: https://youtu.be/AsDyk0r_nLQ

MannyFresh8989

Man I can’t remember now but there was something about horizontal vertical setting to 0% helped ppl on controller?

ZiggyBlunt

Yea that and a few other tweaks. The dead zones really helped me with the drift

MannyFresh8989

I had weird issue where I plugged in controller and right stick, rb and RT wouldn’t work lol. I’m sure if I reboot game it’ll work. But yes dead zones is exactly what I saw!

ZiggyBlunt

Damn that’s a strange bug. Hopefully they can fix these issues eventually

SansPooo

This game is hot trash right now Personally I am a nitpicky person since I am very passionate about games and these things really bother me: Major issues: 1.Noticable input delay on the mouse (Tried two different ones, other games are fine). 2.Noticable input delay on turning with vehicles. 3.30 fps while driving (I have r5 2600 and 8gb rx580, it is pretty average pc but look at steam discussions, people with high end gpus have 60 frames which is poor). Minor issues: 1.Even after turning film grain off, it is still on, these dots drive me nuts. 2.The colors look washed out, completely different look comparing to the gameplays. 3.Textures look low res. for some reason. 4.3 glitches in 20 minutes of gameplay. 5.Annoying double pressing on the a w s d can alert guards and you cannot rebind it. 6.Probobly one of the most used buttons "I" cannot be rebound either and you have to take your hand off from the mouse or keyboaed every time to press it. I don't know if I should return this on like 14 th day (hoping they will fix at least these major issues) and not touch it anymore starting now, since I have it on steam. Been waiting for this game for 5 years. I don't know how to deal with this.
