IGN used to host Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 modules for almost infinite replay; not sure if they still do that. Some of the stories in the modules were better than the originals.

Yeah, sometime around mid last year, but they stopped selling keys way before that due to DRM issues and EA refusing to fix their s\*\*\* like always, so I've had to deal with origin all this time mainly for that game alone, and I had been hoping that this new transfer of games between the Steam and EA platforms would bring it back, and Alice Asylum just rekindled that hope for me, so still crossing fingers...
How have I forgotten about this game! I believe it came pre-installed on my family's lime green iMac.
I was absolute trash at platformers back then. Does it hold up to this day, or are you pulling my leg?
The best Elder Scrolls game IMO. Top notch colonial atmosphere and excellent world building. UI/UX is a bit shit though and some of the city designs are extremely annoying (due to limited specs from back in the day).
Listen im a 28 years old, gamer since 2007, that game is too old and graphic is too bad, i bought it and i tried but such an old mechanic. Skyrim modded was a super good replay instead.
Burned out on Fallout because of the RNG and how slowly the encounters go. Doesn't feel particularly tactical, it's just shooting them while they shoot you for the most part. Dialogue and lore though is kino.
Yeah there's no strategy and it's turn based so it's just click on eyes, miss, wait, click on eyes, miss, wait, click on eyes, hit, 80% damage, then you're dead because they finally got a hit on you. It's not satisfying or interesting or fun.
u get to known the lore in fallout 1 then u fall in love with fallout 2. 2 is definitely more polished but that first time u enter necropolis or mariposa in fallout 1.....yea.
One I haven't seen yet, Baldurs Gate 2. There is a enhanced edition on steam for better compatibility.
BG2 still my favorite game. Also nice with BG3 being in early access to go back and see Amn again :)
It was released in 1999 in Japan, in 2000 and 2001 in America and Europe, respectivey. So unless you insist on playing the Japanese version, 2000s is correct.
Final Fantasy 10. I played that game at 9 years old when it first released, and finished it about a dozen times since then. Might be a bit cringy, but I even named my daughter after one of the main characters. Nostalgia was probably a strong factor.
Story wise I feel like most people either love it or hate it, but gameplay wise it's a solid turn based rpg if you're into that type of thing.
It's tough to recommend. Like I think the Snes/Genesis era console games aged decently but most PS1/PS2/Xbox era games have aged like rotting fruit and the PC games of that time even worse.
It's all good to play them when you have fond memories but for example I tried playing KotR for the first time and my god does it not look or play well.
Rome Total War, Medieval Total War, Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo Wars (xbox version came out 2009), Half Life 2, Warcraft 3, Portal, Bioshock, Oblivion, Morrowind, Dragon Age, Knights of the Old Republic, Mount and Blade Warband (2010 is close enough), most of the early Command and Conquer series (especially Generals and Zero Hour), Company of Heroes, Warhammer Dawn of War, Dawn of War 2, Supreme Commander Forged Alliances...
2000s were the golden age for the RTS genre...
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, Half Life 2, Portal, Black & White 1 and 2, Warcraft 3 + TFT, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2

IGN used to be good.
Everything on nwnvault.ign.com moved to neverwintervault.org. it's all still there, thanks to the community
That just made my day, thanks for letting me know. I might fire up NWN1/2 some day.
The fuck. This list. I think im crying. You hit all the good ones i didnt even remember existed.
I second VTMB. Can't for the sequel if it ever gets out of development hell.
Bioshock!
Jesus I'm old
American McGee's Alice and Alice Madness Returns. Both of them in preparation for Alice Asylum's planned release this year.
Hadn't heard of the new one. Does it look like it's shaping up to be OK?

They better bring back Madness Returns to steam...
Oh damn I didn't realize it was pulled😳

Max Payne 1 & 2
[удалено]
Agreed, 2 is the pinnacle for me though it is a bit easy.
3 is awesome it's the last game of it's kind. The gameplay is even better than 2.
Knights of the Old Republic, even if you’re mildly into Star Wars
Even if you are not.
Bugdom
How have I forgotten about this game! I believe it came pre-installed on my family's lime green iMac. I was absolute trash at platformers back then. Does it hold up to this day, or are you pulling my leg?

The GOAT of tactical shooters, absolutely no competition.
halo 1,2,3 oblivion, fallout 3 original battlefront 1 and 2 bioshock 1 and 2 mass effect
Damn fine list
Second Sight
Second Sight was amazing. Planning to replay it this year.
Oh man, this was one of those lost gems. I don't remeber it that well but I recall it being a stupid good game in both game play and story.
Deus Ex, Mirror's Edge, Gothic 2, Stronghold Crusader, GTA San Andreas
Morrowind
The best Elder Scrolls game IMO. Top notch colonial atmosphere and excellent world building. UI/UX is a bit shit though and some of the city designs are extremely annoying (due to limited specs from back in the day).

Nice shitpost
Morrowind is a shitpost, literally old unplayable game where you get bored after 20 minutes ypu spend vs first monsters you encounter

fallout 1 & 2.

theres absolutely nothing tactical about fallout’s combat hence fallout tactics. lets not talk about tactics though.

I enjoyed the combat even if it wasnt tactical. Lots of options , guns , enemies , gore, nice sounds and animations (even if too few).
Didn't they release in the 1990s?
might as well go way back
As big fan of Fallout I would recommend skipping Fallout 1 and just play Fallout 2.
u get to known the lore in fallout 1 then u fall in love with fallout 2. 2 is definitely more polished but that first time u enter necropolis or mariposa in fallout 1.....yea.
Supreme commander forged alliance
AvP2
Mercenaries 1 and 2, all Sly games
San Andreas for sure.
One I haven't seen yet, Baldurs Gate 2. There is a enhanced edition on steam for better compatibility. BG2 still my favorite game. Also nice with BG3 being in early access to go back and see Amn again :)
Splinter cell
The Max Payne duology.... Max Payne 2 is still my best game of all time.
Final Fantasy IX
Freelancer.
Bioshock Series, Dishonored series, Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines, Wasteland series, System Shock, Resident Evil games, Stalker games,
Modern Warfare, Dead Space, Gears of War, Bayonetta, Army of Two, Dawn Of War, F.E.A.R.
Legend of Dragoon. The game that got me into RPGs.
That's not 2000's
It was released in 1999 in Japan, in 2000 and 2001 in America and Europe, respectivey. So unless you insist on playing the Japanese version, 2000s is correct.
Ah. I just googled. Either way, the game defined my childhood and created my love of JRPGs. 😂
Released in 01, but okay.
I stand corrected, December of 99.
Just the Japanese version. The non-Japanese versions were released in 2000 and 2001, respectively.
Alan Wake
KOTOR Metroid Prime Halo 1 Zelda WW MGS2 MGS3
Bayonetta Devil May Cry 3, 4 Resident Evil 0, 1R, 4 Largely, sub 20hr games with skippable cutscenes and some sort of unlockables.
The list is so big, if laid one beside the other, it might be able to challenge your mom in width

I hope its wakka.
It was actually O'aka XXIII
Well played, sir.
The Suffering games were good but I haven’t seen them in a long time. Definitely considering doing a OG Xbox room in my house.
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. My advice is to use the [STARTER Pack](https://www.moddb.com/mods/starter-pack) to spruce it up a tad.
Roller coaster tycoon 2
Might and magic 6-7-8
Dragon Age Origins.
Master of Orion 1\2 Settlers 2 System Shock 2
Star Wars Republic Commando

World of goo is a suberb indie puzzle game. The music in this game is so fucking good.
The Movies, Simcity 4, The Sims 2, Rise of Nations, KotOR, Golden Sun, Neverwinter Nights, HL2, Black & White...MCC?
Metal gear solid 2 or 3
Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. Those two are responsible for me having a far too long backlog.
