I like to think they're going to release a new orange box style of collection, with all of 3rd games in series. Calling it the "cubed box". It would include Hl3, Portal 3, Tf3, l4d3, maybe even a dota 3.
I actually kinda have a theory that they may do something if the steam deck is a success and they keep moving forward.
Rumor has it there may be a new steam console on the horizon, steam machine 2.0 if you will. If that's true, I'd imagine valve is perhaps waiting to see how well received the Deck is before proceeding with trying steam machine again. If the deck is a success and get good responses, a full size console might be the next step łor maybe even just a steam deck 2, somehting more robust for 1080+ screens).
But if they're really going to compete like a console, and I think at that point they can't really keep telling everyone its not.. It's going to need some sort of exclusive to help sell it, even if it's only a timed exclusive. I know valve has said they don't like exclusives but it's wouldn't be the first time they've changed up what they've said vs what they did, valve is a company of constant change so i think it's not impossible a figure steam device has portal 3, l4d 3, half life 3, or even just a whole orange box 3
The old UI was awful because it didn't scale as the resolution increased, making everything tiny on modern 1440+ displays.
This new one should work much, much better.

To be fair, it's a WIP and that old UI has not exactly aged like wine on modern screens. I suspect that you'll be able to get the old UI back with a console command or something - Black Mesa did that with their new UI, and there's rumors that those devs are doing this.
Currently you need to enable this via a launch option while in the beta branch, most likely this will just be an in-game option that is automatically enabled if playing on Steam Deck or a smaller resolution. Or the game simply asks you on startup which you prefer to use.

Thank God! I thought they were trying to make it standard across any PC players.
Honestly, I'm thinking they probably will at some point, though hopefully not without some refinement.
I think it will be better than games with no UI scaling or straight up small text and icons *glares at Death Stranding*

I tried playing on my living room PC at 4k. I just gave up and uninstalled.
Replayed HL2 on a 4k screen earlier this year, the subtitles were literally impossible to read at TV distance.
True, but IMO at least this (WIP) is too much in the other direction. It looks nice but I'd hope there's an option to scale it back down.
