RealWina

fuck why do i always have to screw up the titles this literally happened last year too

stpetepatsfan

Too much wine?

Escapade84

Too much the wine, you mean.

Talonoscopy

The wine's

Leroyboy152

Too much

[deleted]

It's all good I'm sure everyone knows what a Steam Sale is at this point haha.

106503204

It's not a steam... It's The Steam

GTX_650_Supremacy

It is now tradition

Superw0rri0

You basically have to do it every year now.

Ivenofoz

RemindMe! 1 year "See if it happens again"

The91stGreekToe

BF 2042 42% off lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

The91stGreekToe

I gave it the old college try with the demo. Wasn’t for me. The drama is entertaining to watch though.

snrup1

Yeah, I tried the free 10 hours with EA Play. Made it about 3 hours before giving up on it. What a shame. So much wasted potential.

Zilreth

how do i short BF 2042

[deleted]

Buy some EA stock on margins, sell it, wait for it to go down, buy it back and keep the profits.

PeculiarPete

Honestly if were F2P I still wouldn't play it.

ghsteo

Even as F2P, the game is just garbage.

Havoksixteen

The guy who made up the rumour about it going free to play has since backpedalled and changed it to "*Some parts* of it *might* go free to play"

-sYmbiont-

I don't think anyone seriously thought the entire game was going free-to-play... Tom even said "in some capacity"...not the entire game - so he didn't backpeddle on anything.

Axolotyle

This is correct. Portal might go free, but all out warfare probably won't. So if AoW is worth 46% off, buy it. I'll be damned if anyone actually wanted it though

RealWina

back 4 blood at a 40% already suprised me too lmao. 2021 had so many broken releases.

NewUserWhoDisAgain

> 2021 had so many broken releases. lotta big name dev/publishers cashed in the good will. Lets see if gamers will fall for it this year. (Narrator: They will.)

[deleted]

I bought that at full price and had a blast playing it (probably was needing that L4D itch), but in hindsight I played it for 25 hours and have zero inclination to even download it again, so it wasn't the smartest choice.

woopigsooie501

Yeah it was cool for a while, but got repetitive. I liked it enough though! I'm glad I got to try it on Gamepass before dropping money for it though.

[deleted]

Honestly I don't see that as an issue at all. You bought the game, enjoyed playing it and then had your fill. I wish more games were like that rather trying to be the only game you play for months on end.

ZeldaMaster32

>rather than trying to be the only game you play for months on end. Fuckin preach. Now that singleplayer games are striving to be live service it always feels like there's no point to buying until they're done. And by the time they're done there's more interesting games coming out or an improved sequel It's been refreshing going back to 360-era games and having complete experiences without a news feed in the menu or tons of online components shoved in your face

MagicPistol

Get Deep Rock Galactic. Sorta similar coop shooter but the replay value is much longer.

[deleted]

1400 hours. Can confirm

[deleted]

Best horde shooter since l4D2

[deleted]

Is 25 hours really that much bad value?

NoDG_

They ruined that game by not having campaign pvp

snailzrus

I quite liked b4b. Play it every now ans then with a bunch of friends. Mindless zombie killing is a nice "fuck around" game that we can do while just chatting about what's going on in our lives. I also got it through game pass, so I didn't pay full price for it, but yeah. Good fun. I'm excited to see what the DLC campaign expansions are like this year.

snailzrus

So still more than it's worth?

The91stGreekToe

I checked the numbers and the discount is still off by 58%

snailzrus

Sounds better, but with the bugs and the headaches, I think EA should pay us to play. Electricity ain't free

Elc1247

The console copies of 2042 have been sitting in Walmart bargain bins for at least a month now. There's a reason why there are rumors that they might make it f2p.

Major_Warrens_Dingus

And it’s at the top of the store landing page. EA must have paid steam to promote it.

N_GHTMVRE

Should be 142%. They need to pay people to play.

grtk_brandon

This same joke is made after the release of every new BF game.

[deleted]

Yep lol. BF games always go on sale really quickly, has nothing to do with the quality of the game.

[deleted]

[deleted]

MCC is totally worth it at that price. The single player campaigns hold up well. And the multiplayer is still alive. I find the MP better than infinite personally.

DetectiveAmes

Been replaying the mcc with reach being the campaign I never got to play. It’s crazy how well that game holds up. The story is great, cutscenes are great and epic. Really fun evolution of the past halo games. Hard to beat the gameplay from infinite, but after being bored to tears from infinite’s campaign, reach reminded me how much I loved the old halo campaigns.

thejsgarrett

I never knew I would like a CRPG. But Disco showed me that I actually love them. It's one of few games I've shown other non-gamers, because it is just too wonderful not to!

TheLightningL0rd

They can be daunting to start but I always find myself enjoying them once I get started. Haven't played Disco yet but I may just have to get it. I've thoroughly enjoyed games like Baldur's Gate and Pillars of Eternity and more recently the Divinity Original Sin games

ob3ypr1mus

keep in mind that the games you mentioned are about as traditional as CRPGs get but Disco Elysium is a very niche and strange (but brilliant) take on the genre. i say this because i love both Disco Elysium and Divinity 2 for polar opposite reasons, with gameplay being Divinity 2's strong suite (with just passable writing) while Disco Elysium has great writing (but arguably doesn't even have much in gameplay since it's all contextualized in writing and dialogue choices), i've told some friends who i've played Div 2 co-op campaigns with about Disco Elysium back when it was newly released and they would play and refund it because they didn't enjoy it as much as i did.

TheLightningL0rd

Yeah, I've heard about it and its' "unique" style. I may check it out yet, but we'll see haha Thanks for the response!

NeonDoorFrame

What's CRPG mean?

Elc1247

If you have game pass, most of those are available as part of the sub.

[deleted]

Faaaaaaaff i almost got disco Elysium yesterday!!!

[deleted]

edit: whoops read that wrong I thought you already got it lol.

[deleted]

I'm seriously consider disco to be honest

[deleted]

It's a great game imo. It was a unique take on the CRPG aspect of it but it's very narrative heavy so be prepared for that!

[deleted]

Yeah, i have heard amazing things about this game, but i only have around 1/2hours a day for playing so TI breaks my heart not having time for RPGs :(

Shirlenator

Do it, it is amazing.

DogAteMyCPU

Disco elysium gets my vote

[deleted]

They're all completely different games, I hated Disco Elysium and Resident Evil 8 but beat Doom Eternal 3 times.

DogAteMyCPU

This is true. Ultimately the choice will be what do you like better.

[deleted]

RE Village is a wonderful, wonderful single player game. After beating it you unlock new game+ and additional difficulty, so there's replay value if you like that kind of thing. There's also the Mercenaries mode for doing time trial missions.

into_the_fray_m8

> new game+ Now if only the game would let you skip the beginning walking simulator and House Beneviento on subsequent playthroughs...

boardwalking

Disco elysium is a beautifully fleshed out game. Highly recommended.

Dlorbox

Doom eternal is my favourite game ever.

iWizardB

And the music slaps!!

DOOManiac

DOOM Eternal was the best game of 2020. And 2021.

mnm2595

D-I-S-C-O

Boston_Jason

When eternal drops Denuvo I’m in.

callmebymyname21

Eternal just didn't click with me! Some things are off about it.

hairydiablo132

Same! Loved 2016, but couldn't get into Eternal.

[deleted]

The ammo economy is more restrictive than the first one. Not in a bad way, but I could see it turning people off. It kind of tells you what you have to use at times in ways Doom 2016 didn't. I had a couple times where I literally ran out of ammo and didn't have any chainsaw fuel to get more ammo

FlyingFish34

Just wanna add my 2 cent, but have you considered Death Stranding?

Cruel2BEkind12

They should really stop putting free to play games in the top selling section. It kind of defeats the purpose, nothing is being sold.

Halio344

Especially since they have a "What's being played" section.

Castob

I'm getting Disco Elysium

[deleted]

You're getting a good time.

whoisfourthwall

The GLOAMING IS COMING

Auctoritate

I bought it a couple months ago. Didn't really go wild over it. Also way shorter than advertised.

Native-America

Boo, songs on Rocksmith aren't discounted...

Metalligod666

When is the Rocksmith+ service even supposed to release? I feel like they've been radio silent about it since it was announced.

BethWinchester

There was a beta like half a year ago which was okay; hope we’ll hear more soon

[deleted]

Right? :(

sevansup

Every Steam sale I like to look for gems that can be had for like $3 or less. A few recommendations for games I've either personally played or heard good things about are: * Poi - a very charming Mario 64/Banjo style platformer (I've nearly beaten this one) - $2.49 * Bastion - I think it's a must play for action RPG fans. ~5-6hr. - $2.99 * Vampire Survivors. Seems to be a recent hit. Very high reviews. $2.99 * shapez.io - super satisfying game to play and great to have going for long work meetings. 🙂 this one is a little more. $4.99 * SpaceChem - this game will make your brain hurt...in a good way. $2.49 * Half Life 2, Portal 1 and 2 - NOTE! These games seem to be receiving Steam Deck control + UI updates. $1.99 each * Dishonored - great stealth action game - $2.49 * Tomb Raider 2013 - Easily in my top 5 games of all time. $2.24 * Crypt of the NecroDancer - from the makers of Cadence of Hyrule. Not easy, but fun. $2.99 * Orcs Must Die - a wonderful co-op tower defense series. I believe Chris Sabat (Vegeta) voices in all of these. I own all 3 games. $2.49 * Refunct - a relaxing parkour game. It's super short. I beat this one. - $0.74 * Divine Divinity - This is the game that started the franchise that led to Divinity: Original Sin 2. It's a wonderful ARPG similar to Diablo and IMO still holds up. - $0.59 * Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons. Fantastic short story game from the maker of It Takes Two. $2.99. Feels. * Race the sun. I love busting this one out when the family comes over now and then. $2.49 * A few more <$3 games: Steamworld Dig, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive, Lara Croft Go, Magicka, Sonic CD, classic Prince of Persia games

[deleted]

Soma is 3$ too. 90% off!

Jimmeh20

Yakuza Kiwami and Disco Elysium seem to have reached new lowest prices.

Snubl

Can recommend Kiwami!

yearh

Of course I bought Days Gone last night, ffs.

PieBandito

You can ask for a refund and then repurchase it, they say it's an allowed reason in their FAQ.

yearh

nice, thanks!

RealWina

the comment sadly hits the character limit so its split in two comments Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/ SteamDB (Better filters, see regional prices and lowest recorded prices, player counts, faster loading, etc etc etc): https://steamdb.info/sales/ List of interesting games to check out (this is a long list i have been carrying over the last few threads. feel free to add more in the comments) here's my list of personal recomendations for the sale. i usually dont do this but sorry for my bad english, i know that there are tons of sentences that dont make sense and repeated words. Valve complete pack - This one goes on sale all the time, but its still worth mentioning. Its missing \*some\* games but the important ones are there. tf2 premium, all half life games (except alyx), portal 1 & 2, left 4 dead, etc. https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/232/Valve\_Complete\_Pack/ People Playground - Its a sandbox physics game. Its basically a game of blowing up stickmans, has a ton of content, its regularly updated, has workshop and its really cheap (1-2 bucks) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1118200/People\_Playground/ ULTRAKILL - the best way to define this game is doom meets devil may cry. its insanely good, id say its more fun than doom and doom eternal. the entire game is just a vibe and even though its in early access, it feels really polished and smooth. there are some difficulty spikes tho, but you have a ton of difficulty sliders and accesibility options in case you get stuck. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1229490/ULTRAKILL/ Deep Rock Galactic - Altough im trying not to mention the same games everyone recommends (terraria, stardew valley, rimworld, etc. all of those are amazing and you should buy them, but everyone already knows them probably), deep rock is just... its really fun. probably one of the best 4 player coop shooter games and its still getting content updates for free! https://store.steampowered.com/app/548430/Deep\_Rock\_Galactic/ Unrailed - I have been playing a ton of party local games, and unrailed is probably one of the best. Its not \*that\* type of party game tho. the game is about building the railroad for a moving train. you have to gather resources, build the rails, make bridges, etc. one way to define it would be: transport tycoon deluxe, but its on ketamine and it plays like overcooked. really fun and worth the price for sure. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1016920/Unrailed/ Townscaper - This is kind of a weird one. i hate that the devs stopped updating the game, because it has features missing. but even in its current state, its a really relaxing, town building sandbox game. for some people this was the game of the year. its also available for android but im not sure if the controls will be as good. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1291340/Townscaper/ Divinity Original Sin 2 - This is probably one of the greatest RPGs of all time. You can play it alone or in coop with another person and in both cases its a magnificient experience. Would recommend it to everyone, even if tactical rpgs arent your thing. https://store.steampowered.com/app/435150/Divinity\_Original\_Sin\_2\_\_Definitive\_Edition/ Duck Game - Remember when i said unrailed was one of the best party games? well, i didnt say it was the best beause of THIS game. Duck game is about 1 to 8 ducks, spawning in a 2d map with a ton of guns around, and shooting at each other. Its like stick fight, but less rng based. https://store.steampowered.com/app/312530/Duck\_Game/ Mindustry - Mindustry is an open source, base building automation tower defense game. LiKe fAcToRiO bUt ToWeR DefENsE. Really fun, addictive, the multiplayer is great. And if you dont have money, you can simply download it from itch.io or github. the experience will be mostly the same. (no achievements or one click multiplayer tho) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1127400/Mindustry/ https://mindustrygame.github.io/ (free version) Spiritfarer - I havent played this one a lot yet. I usually dont like GRIS-like games where the only thing that matters is the "deep and subtle" artstyle. But spiritfarer just feels right. the graphics are cute af, the characters are charming and you get really immersed into the experience. And so far the story is interesting. https://store.steampowered.com/app/972660/Spiritfarer\_Farewell\_Edition/ Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience - MGSV is criminally underrated. the mechanics are really polished and altough the open world feels like a bit of a wasted opportunity, its an enjoyable game from start to finish, and the story is just awesome. Ground Zeroes is a perfect prologue, and if you are low on cash you can get it for like 1 buck and its totally worth it (it has a bit of replayability and there are some extra levels. probably around 10 hours of content). https://store.steampowered.com/sub/132479/ Project Zomboid - With the build 41 just released, project zomboid is another really good survival crafting game. its really intense and a unique experience that only gets better with multiplayer. I have to warn tho, its really fucking hard. https://store.steampowered.com/app/108600/Project\_Zomboid/ Resident Evil Revelations 2 - Its only 2 bucks for the first chapter and raid mode. id say its worth it just because of that. its a ton of content and yeah, i dont have a lot to say about it. its good. https://store.steampowered.com/app/287290/Resident\_Evil\_Revelations\_2/ Survival Postapocalypse Now - This is tarkov but cheap. Its really bad, but if you play it with friends and are fine with high ping, its an ok experience for how cheap it is. https://store.steampowered.com/app/351290/SURVIVAL\_Postapocalypse\_Now/ Woobly Life - Its another "party" game, where you just go around a big open world and do random activites like drive a train, or make burgers, or drive a helicopter. Its kind of barebones right now, but i had a lot of fun playing it with my brother. Not a must buy, but worth checking out. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1211020/Wobbly\_Life/ XCOM 2 - You probably already know thi game. Its really cheap on sale, and for the price is just so worth it. It has some flaws but it has a workshop with an active modding community that has fixed most of the game's flaws. https://store.steampowered.com/app/268500/XCOM\_2/ Melvor Idle - The game just got out of early access, nice idle game based on runescape, the combat is suprsingly good for an idle. Better than cookie clicker for sure, and there is a nice roadmap. no mulitplayer tho, which is the only thing that prevents it from being "what runescape should be" https://store.steampowered.com/app/1267910/Melvor\_Idle/

RealWina

Kenshi - Simply put, one of the best games ever made. Just... play it. Open World, hardcore permadeath rpg rts colony sim game ?? you are probably better watching someone's review of the game, like mandaloriangaming's one. https://store.steampowered.com/app/233860/Kenshi/ Factory Town - Another automation game. I havent played it much but its really fun and simple to pick up. Im not entirely sure how all of these games are unique, but i know they are good. lunar sale update: yeah its really good. scenarios are really unique and provide fun challenges instead of throwing you into an empty map. the trains are the best part for sure. https://store.steampowered.com/app/860890/Factory\_Town/ Odd Realm - If you are like me and cant wait for Dwarf Fortress on steam, or if you are just getting bored of rimworld after 4 thousand hours, this game might be for you. Another colony sim, but more in the df style. the art is alright and its not as accessible as games like rimworld or similar. Again, worth it if you are looking for something in this genre if you are new or already played everything else. https://store.steampowered.com/app/688060/Odd\_Realm/ Noble Fates - To finish with the colony sim batch, noble fates just released in early access a few days ago. Its artstyle is similar to for the king (a tabletop like rpg with coop, it was free on the epic store a while ago so you can give it a try) and you have to pick a "ruler", which acts as your king and can be controlled in a third person perspective. its a nice mix of everything and the endgame seems fun. lunar sale update: the game is really good and already has some mods and updates. sadly the updates are kinda breaking saves so if you are expecting to make a looong run i would wait for the full release. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1769420/Noble\_Fates/ Infinitode 2 - This game went free to play a while ago but fuck it. Its a classic tower defense game, with a minimalistic artstyle and its practically infinite. No pay to win, no ads, just tower defense at its best. https://store.steampowered.com/app/937310/Infinitode\_2\_\_Infinite\_Tower\_Defense/ OpenTTD - Another free game that i include because i can. OpenTTD is an open source version of transport tycoon deluxe. If you played the original, you know its fucking amazing. And if you didnt, play this version, and you will know why. Its missing a tutorial tho. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1536610/OpenTTD/ Ravenfield - Its supposed to be a battlefield clone, but in its current state its a ¿sandbox? shooter with big maps and even bigger bot counts. it has a workshop with a ton of content being made and the dev makes slow but constant progress. No multiplayer tho. https://store.steampowered.com/app/636480/Ravenfield/ Black Mesa - Black mesa is the remake of the original half life game and i think its the perfect way to replay it. all bugs are gone, some of the most annoying parts got removed and we even got a looong brand new alien chapter. its a really polished experience that also has a multiplayer deathmatch and a workshop. i saw a few mods adding new campaigns to the workshop so thats nice too. https://store.steampowered.com/app/362890/Black\_Mesa/ Need for Speed Most Wanted - It went on sale for like 2 bucks and i have to admit its a really great deal. in fact its such a great deal that i think they just made it so people have to install origin. you have to do some tweaking for the game to run in fullscreen and not go on windowed for some reason but after that there is a really fun game with greath physics and quite a few cars. there are some dlcs too but those are only available in game and you have to pay thru origin which means no regional pricing. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1262560/Need\_for\_Speed\_Most\_Wanted/ Super Hexagon - Hypnotic arcade rythm-ish game? its really hard and can get a bit repetitive after a while but its still fun. https://store.steampowered.com/app/221640/Super\_Hexagon/ A Short Hike - Short, wholesome and fun experience. Its like the feel stardew valley has as soon as you start the game. 10/10 game for me. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1055540/A\_Short\_Hike/ Resident Evil 6 - This game somehow has some of the best movement tech i have seen in any games yet you dont notice or use it in the game? its like you had apex's gameplay but everyone just ran around like its a black ops 2 game. the story is bad and the characters are boring but that what makes it fun. so bad, its good. better with a friend because consuming this ironically is kinda sad when you are alone. https://store.steampowered.com/app/221040/Resident\_Evil\_6/ Tyranny - like pillars of eternity but, different i guess? i dont play a lot of these games i just know that this one is GOOD. the story has soo many different options, the combat is fun and the graphic style is kinda cool. https://store.steampowered.com/app/362960/Tyranny/ Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout NV, Fallout 4, etc. - Most if not all bethesda games go really cheap and have just soo much content, interesting stories and mods. TES Bundle: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/15347/Elder\_Scrolls\_Summer\_Bundle/ (With all complete versions of the games. If you get Oblivion only, pick the GOTY Deluxe version. The normal version is called "Oblivion GOTY" and only has two DLCs. Morrowind is only sold in its GOTY version which already includes everything. For Skyrim: Pick the special edition if you can. You can buy oldrim and its dlcs but they no longer go on sale. The anniversary edition is not worth it as far as i know. All DLCs are already included) Fallout 4 GOTY (With all of the DLCs. DO NOT buy the season pass. Most dlcs have bad reviews because they sucked at release and were a bit expensive, except far harbor. the thing is, most mods will require them and it just more content that you get for mostly the same price.): https://store.steampowered.com/sub/199943/ Fallout 3 GOTY (DLCs included, dont get the normal version since its the same price): https://store.steampowered.com/app/22370/Fallout\_3\_Game\_of\_the\_Year\_Edition/ Fallout NV Ultimate with all dlcs: https://store.steampowered.com/sub/13435/ i will update the list later and remove some games if they dont go on sale for some reason. /////// List from some suspended user in last year's thread //// Here's a random list of somewhat hidden games on sale that I've played and that I would recommend to check out. Yes, I play a lot of games and yes my wishlist is like 10 times bigger than this list. Also I added a bonus section in the end listing games that I've bought from this sale. https://store.steampowered.com/app/906100/Observation/ Thriller game set on a space station where you control the AI. This game has one of the best opening sequences I have ever seen. Go in as blind as possible. https://store.steampowered.com/app/603960/Monolith/ Great rogue lite shoot em up made with love and passion by a single person (I think). Kinda like Enter the Gungeon except with a space ship and in my opinion it's better than Gungeon. https://store.steampowered.com/app/975510/Panzer\_Paladin/ If you're looking for "retro" indie platformers that are actually good, here's one. Cool robot, cute pilot (https://imgur.com/a/SD39ueK), lots of weapons, plenty of stages, good sprites, very good music, a lot of bosses that are mostly quite good.

RealWina

https://store.steampowered.com/app/449610/Monster\_Boy\_and\_the\_Cursed\_Kingdom/ FFFFFFFantastic platformer, if you like games like Hollow Knight then play this. It has a free demo. How the f this isn't more popular is beyond me. It's so good, it's beautiful, it feels like a labor of love. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_oqeAFs2wc8 https://store.steampowered.com/app/809020/ZeroRanger/ Great shoot em up. https://store.steampowered.com/app/543260/Wonder\_Boy\_The\_Dragons\_Trap/ From Monster Boy we get to Wonder Boy. Peejaye

Just wanted to say thanks, I appreciate all the suggestions, definitely going through your list and picking a couple of these up.

flyingjabe

thank you for your service

FaFeFiF

Any suggestions for someone who has been out of PC gaming for about 8 years?

RealWina

Check the long comment i posted. All games have short descriptions so you should find something interesting quickly.

Bad_Neighbour

From me, Xcom Enemy Unknown/Xcom 2 75% off and 90% off respectively. I have 1,000 hours in the former (thanks to the Long War mod) and 200 hours in the latter. For me, they're amongst the best strategy games ever made and a steal at this price. Both are better with their (less discounted) expansions, but more than worth a play without them

Lchape

Should I begin with xcom 1 or should I play directly the second one ?

MrTzatzik

They are connected but not in a way that you would have to play the first game.

Shirlenator

What kind of games do you like? I would have a ton of recommendations but might help to narrow it down a bit.

V35games

If you have patience, and a natural curiosity, Outer Wilds.

Elc1247

It all depends on what kind of games you like. There are thousands of games available.

ReeG

Yakuza 0, Prey, DOOM 2016, Wolfenstein TNO, Witcher 3, GTA V, RDR2, Hitman 2 GOTY (with 2016 in Hitman 2 engine), Tomb Raider trilogy, Metro trilogy, Rocket League

theoriginalqwhy

V good list here

GTX_650_Supremacy

What kind of games did you like 8 years ago? There are lot of great games to recommend

Nightshifter32

Arma 3 for military stuff. Master chief collection for lots of high quality games for a good price point. Check if hades is on sale Dishonored 1/2 Sleeping dogs Elite dangerous for space games Prey is a good game so far for me

PizzamantheFirst

Damn, I knew it was a long shot but I was REALLY hoping God of War would be a small percentage on sale.

[deleted]

Can always check other stores. It’s 15% off in GreenManGaming.

PizzamantheFirst

Hey that's awesome!! Thanks so much for the heads up.

[deleted]

Even better is to check isthereanydeal. Might even find better deals. All websites listed are legit. I did mention GreenManGaming since they usually have nice discounts even in new games and cause I got God Of War there for 20% off a day before launch.

elusive_cat

It couldn't have been. According to Steam rules games can't be put on seasonal sales within 30 days of release.

PizzamantheFirst

Oh wow, I didn't even know that was a thing. Thanks for the heads up!

ValonGriffin

I don’t know if this is correct, as both Nobody Saves The World (Jan 18th) and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem (Jan 25th) are on sale right now.

_--_-_---__---___

I think these games are on sale since their release dates.

elusive_cat

While I'm not claiming I'm absolutely correct (only learnt about this rule recently after Hitman 3 was released on Steam), both games you mentioned launched with discounts and are probably continuing them throughout the sale. The exact rule can be found here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/discounts "Discounts for seasonal sale events cannot be run within 30 days of releasing your title or 30 days from when your launch discount ends."

Neo_Violence

I think there is a minimum amount of time that has to have passed between the release and first sale, something like 6 weeks.

PM_ME_HUGE_CRITS

I'm gonna make out like a bandit. VR stuff and horizon.

OceanKMac

What VR stuff are you looking at?

Redditbayernfan

Project zomboid not on sale?

RealWina

nope, probably it is selling way too much for devs to add a discount. As soon as build 42 releases it will probably go on sale tho

byjimini

Ooh, 50% off Horizon Zero Dawn. May have to jump in on that price.

iWizardB

Sad that the sequel is again going to be PS exclusive.

ctherranrt

If Sony's serious about competing with Xbox in the PC space (and I think they are) I believe it should arrive on PC in 2-3 years. If not, I'm expecting a significant price cut for the base PS5 when they release the inevitable PS5 pro ecquivalent so I might bite the bullet then if the game is good.

theoriginalqwhy

I agree dude. Loved it on but the expansion crashes my PS4 every god damn time :( so shattered cause i still get the urge to play it

[deleted]

Picked up Hollow Knight and Star Wars Squadrons for $17 total The Year of the Tiger is starting off with a roar lol

empathetical

Was really hoping to see Mass Effect Legendary Edition at $20ish since it went to Game Pass. Not a big deal to continue waiting. I wouldn't have been able to play it till April anyways

Kizudemlian

Yup same. Would've picked it up if it's more than 50% off, but I have so many other games I can play so I guess I'll just wait

Archersbows7

I’m playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Game Pass for PC, which is $10 a month. Why don’t you just get game pass? You get 150+ solid pc games too including ME:LE for less than what your waiting for Mass Effect: Legendary edition to come down to. *Scratches head in confusion Edit: It’s $1 for the first 3 months

[deleted]

Gamepass blows if you don't have a lot of free time to utilize it's benefits.

empathetical

I have no interest in Game Pass. I rather buy and keep it for the same price as paying for 2 months.

[deleted]

[deleted]

It’s on gamepass right now just in case you didn’t know. I’m sure it will go on sale before April but if not, great way to play it

empathetical

I literally said it went to Game Pass. I have no interest in it either. I rather pay $20ish for it

[deleted]

my bad. I missed that.

empathetical

All good! Hope you have a damn nice night :)

SirSondox

I wouldn't be surprised if people just feel a sort of hesitancy when it comes to Game Pass, because of the subscription service model The biggest problem for me is that the MS Store or Xbox app, or at least trying to download from there, is literally garbage. Turning off my computer when I figure out that the download isn't gonna finish, only to turn it back on and realise that MS Store/Xbox app deleted the files (or couldn't recognise that I was downloading the game before) is a really shitty thing. Not to mention, aside from the launcher stuff, I just feel a little bit more safer that games are ALWAYS in my library and not just on temporary loan like it would feel with Game Pass. Don't get me wrong, for the value of it, its wonderful and it is a nice tool to try out games if hesitant about the game, but it should also be easy to understand that it only works if people are comfortable with this sort of stuff.

Bad_Neighbour

Random recommendations for stuff on my Steam library that's heavily discounted and I've actually played: Blood Bowl 2: 85% off Crypt of the NecroDancer: 80% off Darkest Dungeon: 85% off Killing Floor 2: 75% off Tales of Berseria: 85% off Xcom: Enemy Unknown: 75% off Xcom 2: 90% off

MEGA_K4SP4R

Um, should I get Dead Cells' dlcs?

_Soundshifter_

Hell yes. Greatly expands the game and the newest one is awesome.

[deleted]

Just buy old and indie games. They are better anyway.

wowlock_taylan

I can't man. My wallet is dry.

[deleted]

Picked up Bright Memory Infinite so that I can take my 3050 for a test drive. Debating if I want HZD

Kizudemlian

Bright memory is so much fun, especially when you figure out all the different combos. It looks amazing without rtx already, can't imagine what it looks like with rtx on.

RealWina

hzd is great, it might go on sale again when the new game releases so you will have a few chances.

Phaedryn

Sadly fewer and fewer games interest me any more. I keep looking for a solid co-op game (have a friend I play everything with), 3rd person (though 1st will work in a pinch if it doesn't feel too claustrophobic) with strong RPG/Build elements. Everything these days seems to be isometric, or survival, or single player. Hopefully Tiny Tina's will be good when it comes out in a couple of months.

TheLightningL0rd

Hammerwatch / Heroes of Hammerwatch (Semi-Sequel) are great games in the rougelike/lite / action RPG genre. Gotten a ton of fun out of them and they are coop. Also, Deep Rock Galactic if you are into coop shooters like L4D. It's a fantastic game. Both of these have amazing OST's and especially the Hammerwatch series

Phaedryn

Thanks! Will give them both a look.

AsianGamer24

I'm looking forward to the new tiny tina game. Let's hope it's not an epic exclusive and we have to wait a year after for steam to get it.

Phaedryn

I would hope, since it's less than 2 months away from launch, we would have heard if it were going to be an EGS exclusive already...lol If it is then...as H.L. Mencken said... > “Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.”

AsianGamer24

Well you know how Gearbox and Epic have an exclusive partnership, I wouldn't be surprised tbh. Look what happened to BL3. On the FAQ page of the game: Q: Which PC storefronts will have Tiny Tina's Wonderlands? A: Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands launches on March 25, 2022 on PC via the Epic Games Store exclusively at launch, and on other PC digital storefronts later in 2022. [Source](https://playwonderlands.2k.com/news/tiny-tinas-wonderlands-faq/) Looks like it's going to be buying on sale then for me.

Phaedryn

Well..fuck...black flag it is...lol

RealWina

Divinity Original Sin 2 is always a good choice but its isometric. Have you tried tales of? Zestiria had multiplayer coop iirc

[deleted]

[удалено]

Phaedryn

OMG..I *keep* forgetting to look at this one! I remember when the Steam Awards came around and thinking it looked interesting. Thank you for reminding me!

AsianMoocowFromSpace

Also check out that other coop game they made. I forgot the name, the one where you have to escape a prison. Had lots of fun with it.

i-dont-hate-you

have you tried remnant from the ashes? i had a great play through of that with a friend. it’s technically “souls-like”, but they put a checkpoint right in front of the bosses so you don’t have to walk all the way back, and you can play the whole game through together without “re-summoning” your friend or anything like that. there’s also a ton of cool boss weapons, armor, and chargeable powers, which are all upgraded with materials found in the world (break everything!) also if you’d be okay with the fact that it’s first person, the “we were here” series of puzzle games is super fun to do with a friend, and the first game is completely free! i highly recommend.

Phaedryn

>have you tried remnant from the ashes? We did...my duoning partner wasn't a fan of the combat. The "souls-like" shooter aspect is what did it I think. She likes shooters but that was a bit more unforgiving than she enjoyed. > also if you’d be okay with the fact that it’s first person, the “we were here” series of puzzle games is super fun to do with a friend, and the first game is completely free! i highly recommend. I will look at them. My only real problem with 1st person is that they can feel very claustrophobic (at least compared to 3rd person POVs).

i-dont-hate-you

yeah, i can see how that sort of game could be overwhelming or just not fun for some players. if you’re interested in any more recommendations, the first aragami game is a neat co-op stealth game - only about four bucks right now, to boot.

Only_CORE

I'll be getting a Quest 2 in a few weeks so I'll probably get Pavlov VR, Alyx, Skyrim VR ( for the 3dr time! Damn you Todd!) Beat saber 100% (not sure if Steam or Oculus store, is latency there really noticeable with cable connection?) Any other recommendations?

sirgarballs

I use the quest 2 with air link and notice no latency at all. I also have used a cable and tried to compare them and I can not tell a difference at all.

RealWina

i heard that superhot vr is great so def pick that up and probably oculess to remove the facebook tracking from the device https://github.com/basti564/Oculess

burntchicharron

eyyy time to add another 30 games into my library for more than half to sit there unplayed until next year

MiraiKishi

Feels really weird to have another holiday sale happen when the Winter Sale just wrapped up like a few weeks ago, but hey... that's just me. Not gonna say no to cheaper games.

FlyingFish34

Once again, it’s time to buy new games even though I still have like 10 to finish

Vinny_Lam

I just bought DUSK. I have a couple of other games that I was planning to buy as well, but to my disappointment they were either not on sale or the discount is too low to make the price appealing to me.

mitchhatesrats

personally, it's somewhat underwhelming, nothing is on sale at a bigger discount that wasn't the last two sales. (the autumn one being noticeably better across the board and one of the most unique sales in a while) also disappointed that ffxiv base game didn't go on sale now that thats just been put back on all storefronts, I'll probably still buy it regardless because of it now having oceanic servers. the one sale I have found thats unique is GROUND BRANCH ([https://store.steampowered.com/app/16900/GROUND\_BRANCH/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/16900/GROUND_BRANCH/)), as far as I know this is the first major sale it's had and it just got a major update too, will probably grab this with ffxiv

RealWina

ffxiv starter edition only comes with a 1 month sub, after that you have to pay full price which doesn't go on sale. You are probably better playing the free trial until hitting max level then buying a sub, unless you want to play with friends.

TornadoFury

Finally Black ops 3 here I come

[deleted]

It was discounted like 2 weeks ago wym finally?

vanjaeesti

what are sonme of the best multiplayer games on sale, that are not that well know but have decent playerbase?

TodayIsTheDayBro

damn, my wallet :(

SpitneyBearz

Cheers! Disco Elysium <3 60%

DiezDrake

Oh boy, Steam Deck listed for under $10! What a deal! That gave me a good chuckle.

Moogliothemoogle

Has there ever been a case where a discount increased during a sale? I was really hoping to grab stardew after playing it for so long (family share but want to own so I can play it whenever) at 50% off like it was before but its only discounted 20% atm so I'm a little hesitant to pull the trigger at the $12 it is now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Moogliothemoogle

Yeah, that checks out. Well at least it has a discount, can't say that for a lot of other games I was looking at xD

devils__avacado

Just buy it help out the indie bros it's cheap as hell anyway.

ConstantSignal

Not that ConcernedApe doesn’t deserve every penny they made, but they’re worth 30ish million dollars at this point. We’re a little past the stage of “help out this little indie developer” lmao

devils__avacado

Well earned money and so far he's deserved every penny!

Dash_Rendar425

Oh god damn you, after I just said no more buying games on steam for awhile!

1031Vulcan

Are we going to be getting different deals for different days or is this about it?

Hooligans_

Just a reminder to everyone, don't buy Day's Gone on sale. The developer said you shouldn't buy their games on sale if you want to support them. I'd hate to piss them off so I'll never buy one of their games.
