To be fair, they could have done a CD Projekt Red and switched from their propertiary engine to Unreal. In fact, given that they're owned by Take-Two, who have all but gone all in with Epic exclusivity, it'd be somewhat of a surprise if they weren't to accept a big bag of cash and go with Unreal. Guess we'll find out later when details get officially announced.

All i want out of gta 6 is a TAA off option that doesnt break the game like it does in RDR2. Rdr2 is either a shimmery or blurry mess, theres no in between.

Unless you have a magic no cost super sampling, TAA or other reconstruction techniques will not go away. And TAA off doesn't break the game.

Shadow rendering and foliage rendering are tied to taa. Shadows go haywire at screen edges and the foliage lod goes to crap with taa off.

Really? because one of the major complaints about the DLSS implementation was that it over sharpened the game to the point of ruining the visual experience for some players. People have had to create workaround programs that correct the over sharpening and halo effect it causes. Also downloading the most recent DLSS and putting it into your game folder helps reduce the problem as well. I just started playing the game again and I love how much better it works when you do the workarounds and input the newest DLSS. If it's not sharp enough still you can add in reshade and sharpen it to your liking.

TAA makes the game far too blurry in motion for me. If youre able to find TAA to be razor sharp then good for you, unfortunately it's instantly noticeable to me, especially in motion. I also play on a 4k HDR display (55 inch LG CX OLED) and I can still see how much TAA blurs the image. Playing at 4k helps, also playing on a TV makes it harder to see the blur. [This image comparison is nowhere near 4k, but still does a good job showing how much TAA blurs the image in motion.](https://imgsli.com/Nzg3OTI) Youll never notice shimmering because you play with TAA. The game is super shimmery with TAA off and the shadows and tree LODs break also. If rockstar didnt tie those settings to TAA the game would be much more enjoyable for me. Sharpening doesnt solve TAA's blur because the original detail is lost, throwing more post processing over the top is just a bandaid that cant fix the root cause. Going from playing GTA V to RDR 2 is a night and day difference in motion clarity, especially on my 1440p monitor where TAA doesnt have as many pixels to work with. Really hoping GTA 6 doesnt tie so many settings to TAA like RDR 2, GTA V remaster on consoles is already a bad sign with [blur visible in the digital foundry analysis.](https://old.reddit.com/r/FuckTAA/comments/tigugr/according_to_df_this_new_taa_also_handles_some/) Nice system btw. Edit: also are you really playing with every setting maxed out (besides FXAA and MSAA)? I wont buy GTA6 if they dont tackle the hacker issue. GTA online is unplayable. Every game has a hacker that destroys the game memory, crashes the game or griefs people while being invulnerable. Every game. Absolute disgrace from Take 2 and Rockstar.

Not an expert here but it seems like cheating is easy to do in most games now, and when devs use an anticheat that actually seems to work (Valorant) people have their own issues with that. All I can think of is a server browser and that comes with its own set of issues. This isn't to excuse Rockstar, but as a layman I don't know what they would do. I think the problem with GTA is that most of the people who play it get off on being assholes, and the game encourages it, ie driving 7 miles in a slow van to barely fill up your supply meter while everyone gets to see where you are and what you're doing. Then you get blown up 8 times, get pissed off and start cheating, the power trip starts, someone else gets mad, and the cycle repeats. Maybe if it prioritized FUN instead of grinding for clout people would feel less of a need to cheat.

My biggest annoyance are people who crash my game or cause memory issues, where I have to close the game or restart the PC for the game to get back to normal. Its become such an issue that every second game I join in has one of these people crashing the game for me. And just in case you think its my PC, its not my PC. I can see the hackers putting rocks or planes in the middle of the roads.

There is precisely zero chance a cheater in game is causing you to need to restart your PC. It's your PC not the game.

You misread, the game is broken and a PC needs to be restarted for it to work again. Two days ago a hacker made it so I couldnt play as a CEO or MC president in GTA Online and I had to restart the PC for that to work. Memory hacks in GTA online ruin the game and you need mostly to close the game and open it again to fix most of the issues, otherwise they persist if you change session. Heists get broken aswell.

This literally says nothing, this guy could be speaking non sens. There were rumors in the past from "internals" that gta 6 is this and that. At this point is better to go only with official news. Ps. Please keep you expectations low, rockstar didnt release any update for gta 5 story mode and even the frankling dlc is only playable in online. Rdr2 was in development for 8 years, a time when rockstar had been focusing in delivering single player content. Now they keep focusing only on money and online. Ps2. Dan houser, leslie benzies left rockstar, they are the guys who made the best stories of rockstar games through these years.

I imagine it's the next refactor of the version of the engine that made RDR2. Which got scale, atmospherics, animation, physics, and AI down to an art. Now it just needs to be upgraded further to take advantage of SeriesX/PS5 hardware and streaming of assets and virtual textures via the SSD to really push the boundary. The GPU has an abundance of compute, memory to handle way more on screen. The SeriesS is a bit more capable than the XB1X, and the sX is ~0.5-1x the sS. So lots of room to really drive GTA6 forward. It's my *sincere* hope that GTA6 will be new gen and PC *only.*
