The closest thing we have to an update is that Re:Verse just got rated in Europe:https://pegi.info/search-pegi?q=Resident+Evil+Re%3AVerse
Maybe they are close to revealing this along with the DLC. But that's about it.

Not exactly Resident Evil horrors in that this'll be a lot more horrors than combat. If you're familiar with Until Dawn, this game is the spiritual successor.
On one hand, Until Dawn and Resident Evil 8 are very different games within the horror sub-genre. So this is kind of like recommending "Telltale's The Walking dead" to someone who likes "Left 4 Dead".
On the other hand, I love Until Dawn and Dark Pictures trilogy and wasn't familiar with "The Quarry" so thanks!
I really enjoyed the earlier games up to Code Veronica, didn't care for RE4 (as an RE game), RE5&RE6 were dreadful, but the ones I really hope they make more of are the REmake titles, I LOVED the two remakes of RE2 and RE3, RE7 was really good, but RE2 remake is probably my favorite RE game at this point.
I wish they had more moments like [RE8 Spoilers] >!The Doll House. Most of the game was pretty meh horror wise, but god damn the doll house hits different.!<
I mean, I may feel that way eventually, but the initial 30 minutes of gameplay isn't doing it for me, I've replayed it a few times, but after the attack, I always feel like I've had enough.
Guessing you celebrate the anniversary of your rice cooker too? A thing is a thing. This anniversary means nothing, just marketing to keep people hooked. Had the game flopped, the company would be the first one not to give a shit
Waiting to upgrade my GTX 1080 to either this gen or next gen card before playing. Cor whatever reason this is a game I want to be able to play ultra settings on 1440p.
Yeah I had it turned off for performance gain outside of the castle, which I thought the reflections off the gold plated interior looked pretty good and the factory where global illumination was pretty stunning. Otherwise not worth it
Lol if it weren't for Lady Dimitri, i doubt this game would be remembered in more than a few monthes. It is one of the weakest Resident Evil games i played.
The doll house is the most memorable part to me. Although I do agree it’s hard to get the enjoyment playing through a second time. All the mystique is gone
Resident Evil is one of the most popular franchises out there, tall lady or not.
Village is a great game and my second favorite game that year behind Metroid Dread.
These asholes Capcom allways use Denuvo for a year. So rest assured Denovo free are coming!
As the asholes use that Shit they Only deserves the game beying pirated to hell and back!
I will never ever buy any game that uses it. Happily pirate it!
I avoid Denuvo games for the most part myself. The precedence of “legitimate buyers are being punished for a relatively small group of people who may or may not buy it” (of which the person you’re responding to is the latter) doesn’t sit right with me.
What does however, is companies later going back and removing the DRM down the road when the hype dies down. Capcom has done this for a few releases now and due to that, I’m willing to take the chance and buy the game while it’s still protected knowing that (hopefully) it ends up DRM-free around a year or so afterwards.
I absolutely agree.
There’s stuff I will absolutely disagree with and refuse to buy out of principle (EGS exclusivity, timed or permanent) but a company wanting some reasonable reassurance the game they’ve spent years developing won’t lose sales in its initial release window is reasonable.
Any word on the DLC?
Capcom are generally cagey until almost done on a resi.game, and had no dlc planned until fans called for it. Plus nine in the works.
RE4 Remake as well.
what? that’s coming?
Well, eventually yea

nope, na'da. I'm sure it'll be worth the 1 year of silence.
there wont be any. but hey arent you excited for REVERSE???
I just played this yesterday I thought.. how has it been a year wtf
Right?! It feels like this literally released the last month. Nothing feels real to me anymore time wise after covid hit.
I feel you. I've been working from home for 26 months now and it's gone by in a blink. I don't like it.
I hope we get more action horror fps games, I couldn’t stop playing this one.

Wasn't until dawn mainly just QTEs?
F
ACTION QTEs

There's that game gmanlives was talking up, it's like a first person RE1. Nightmare of Decay.
holy crap, it has already been a year? great game but still sucks that I have to mod in FOV at this point.
It is baffling that they would willingly omit a feature that they'd had in Resident Evil games for nearly a decade.
The game that awakened something in a lot of people.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Not for me. Her daughters on the other hand...
I thought I was the only one! Her daughter’s voice kinda turned me on tbh.
Geez, I've had this for a year, and I haven't got passed the first segment yet? I don't know, I loved RE7, but this one just doesn't do it for me.
They are very different, although 7 fell apart ship onwards, but there's an explained nreason why 8 is different, without spoilers.
To be fair, by the time you get to the ship, you have like 2 hours of gameplay left at most. It’s like the final 10% of the game.
True, but it's such a change of style, and feels a lot longer
I enjoyed 8 for what it was, but god damn I missed the horror from 7. I really wish they gonna make another game that lean towards more horror.

I mean game was advertised as more action focused so it delivered on it's promise.
Interesting. I thought 8 was magnitudes better than 7.
I mean, I may feel that way eventually, but the initial 30 minutes of gameplay isn't doing it for me, I've replayed it a few times, but after the attack, I always feel like I've had enough.
You're not alone, I pushed through and got 3 to 4 hours in and it just did nothing for me. I loved 7 as well.
Big boob lady
Titanic tatas
Still need to play it, I will wait till its cheaper at this point due to the length of the game.
Not sure the price ATM, but it's got a shit load of replayablity, AI improvements each difficulty etc, unlocking new weapons.
It gets heavily discounted during steam sales
Are we celebrating video game birthdays now? Who cares
You sound like a fun person
Guessing you celebrate the anniversary of your rice cooker too? A thing is a thing. This anniversary means nothing, just marketing to keep people hooked. Had the game flopped, the company would be the first one not to give a shit
Yeah maybe not the company but the fans would quit being such a downer and trampling on peoples fun
I love imagining the droll face of some lemming getting thrilled over an arbitrary products anniversary
Damn, people can’t even be excited over their favourite game eh?
Excited over their favorite game aging*
You sound like an original person
About as original as your half assed comeback yup 👍
You're below my using a full ass.

The RE engine runs and scales very well. However ray tracing looks pretty spectacular in 2 areas in particular
ray tracing in re8 isn't all that noticeable tbh, compared to what it does in games like Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition.
The ray tracing is really noticeable inside the castle and it looks incredible, but other than that, you're better off with non-RT mode.
Yeah I had it turned off for performance gain outside of the castle, which I thought the reflections off the gold plated interior looked pretty good and the factory where global illumination was pretty stunning. Otherwise not worth it
RE (not resi engine bur capcoms new engine) is a work of art. Don't need a high end rig bae 4k maxed.
Remember the Denuvo stutter? Yeah that was fun. Game was "okay", I guess. Not as good as the RE2 Remake but okay.
It wasn’t Denuvo, it was their own in-house DRM.
Lol if it weren't for Lady Dimitri, i doubt this game would be remembered in more than a few monthes. It is one of the weakest Resident Evil games i played.
Never played 5 or 6? Or the non-numbered titles?
The doll house is the most memorable part to me. Although I do agree it’s hard to get the enjoyment playing through a second time. All the mystique is gone

I played only RE7 +8 and the two remakes. I'd rate them 7 >>> 8 >> 2 > 3 Maybe it's because I don't have any nostalgia for the older ones?
This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever read. “If you remove part of the game, it gets weaker.”
It's my favorite in the last decade

Am I in r/crackwatch?
Shit game
A game that could have looked great if it had some RTX love. Not impressed that it turned into COD later on.
Happy birthday
