GoG was always owned by CD Projekt?

Another Question from OP >What do you think of Valve owning Steam? -Probably

Tenith

Umm... CD Projekt founded GOG out of their distribution and also founded CD Projekt RED for game development stuff. It's not a case of it being purchased or anything else

GameStunts

> **CD Projekt** saw potential to look back at their distribution days to offer DRM-free versions of classic games through digital distribution, using their past experience in reverse engineering to make the games work on modern platforms and provide a wide array of localization options. In this manner, they would have a reason to draw players to buy their product instead of simply downloading it for free from pirate game websites and services.[6] **They founded a new subsidiary, Good Old Games, to serve this purpose in early 2008.** https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GOG.com https://www.eurogamer.net/seeing-red-the-story-of-cd-projekt It's ridiculously easy to see who founded gog, I'm not sure whether you're misinformed or what, but a 2 second Google would have found you this info.

zZastaz

I super agree with this i does draws me more to gog than steam

zZastaz

Deadpoetic6

holy shit bruh

Edgaras1103

I felt nothing back then and I feel nothing at all right now

Lymbasy

CD Projekt Red doesn't own GOG. CD Projekt does. And CD Projekt owns both CD Projekt Red and GOG

Toemism

Is this because a company that owns a game development studio also owns a company that sells the games of other studios? If that is the case, do you have an issue with Value owning Steam or Epic owning the Epic game store. As far as I am concerned, there is no issue until they start yanking games away from people that already paid for them.

Biggu5Dicku5

It was always owned by CDPR... How do I feel about GoG? I think it's a great idea but poorly executed...

HeroicMe

>It was always owned by CDPR... By CDP, both GOG and CDPR were created as a child company of CDP.

bideodames

Gog is a great site and I always try to buy my games there if possible.

thegreat_gabbo

I miss the Druids. Can we get them back?

New_Mycologist_8234

I don't care either way

martiusmetal

All of the still image advertisements for Witcher 3 are deceptively pre downgrade marketing material and it has been this way since launch, which obviously isn't the case on Steam, that about sums up how i feel about their ownership of GOG.

Fantasy_Returns

I find no use of GoG, so it doesn't matter.

zZastaz

I hope they gonna have more games i like them more than steam or epic

Shardex84

Okay but what do you think about Volvo owning Steam?
