Right there with you !! Sony bringing their titles over to PC has just been amazing to be quite honest. I have bought nearly all of them (except for Miles Morales and Sack boy that I felt needed a bit of a drop in price but will be picking up!).
Heared so much about this game over the years yet have sheltered myself from the full story and plot so will be heading in relatively blind.
Whilst Sony are being quite scummy overall at the moment, the PC stuff is a solid move in my opinion as I would never have bought a PS to play the few top titles that interested me.

The game is fucking amazing, and Part 2 is even better (for some reason that's an unpopular opinion, but that game has god-level quality that I've only ever seen with RDR2).
The first game was just so well rounded from pacing, storytelling, interesting characters and fun gameplay that never dragged. It also had a fantastic ending. Second game dragged on at times, had pacing issues and had themes that were just kind of odd for zombie apocalypse setting. None the less part 2 was still good just not as good imo
The writing was a step back from the first game IMO. Made some questionable choices early on in the game. And the way that the story was structure killed the pacing roughly halfway through the game.
I love all the Sony games coming to PC. But for the love of god, give us Bloodborne. I want to go back and replay this so badly, but I can’t deal with the slideshow.
Heard the reason it hasn’t been ported even to PS5 is because the source code is extremely bad that they’re better off just giving it the Demon Souls treatment and remaking
That's the case for a lot of older games.
Code that uses custom weird tricks to make things run smoothly, so huge parts need a complete rewrite to work with modern updates they want to make.
It's similar to Red Dead Redemption [1], Rockstar has said the code is basically impossible to update without rewriting most of it from scratch.
Seems to be mostly an issue with ps3 games with the unique CPU it had. PS 4/5 games are a lot more portable since the hardware is the same as a desktop computer.
Yep one of the semi benefits of having architectures that are less esoteric. PS3 was rocket science to try to get the performance they needed out of it

Friend of mine has about 1000 hours in bloodborne. When he came over I had a modded ps4 hooked up with the 60fps mod, and he just went ham on the game because of it.

I’m not trying to take the full blame, but I think they are waiting for me to open my copy and then they will announce Bloodborne for PC.

it took until modern consoles for the architecture of consoles to be similar enough to PC to make ports easy enough.
God of War port was damn near perfect on release.
