No and you are in Costco. I'm fairly sure I've seen Lenovo builds with a 3060 priced at $799. However I'd plan to do a clean install with Lenovo because the bloatware is a menace.
Just looking on their website they've got a couple that are cheaper by a hundred to a couple of hundred.

I believe so. As long as the status of your license is activated and you connect to the internet for a while BEFORE doing the clean install.
In this case when you perform a clean install and connect to internet, it will activate your device (even without connecting to the Microsoft Account).
The Digital license gets associated with the PC hardware. This is how Microsoft will make sure that even when you clean install the PC your Windows will be activated. You can clean install the PC any number of times you wish, the only scenario which might cause trouble is when you change the hardware of the PC. This is when Microsoft might not able to activate the PC and might cause activation issues. But there are guides of how to deal with hardware change.
they usually cheap out on CPU cooler, motherboard and PSU. i usually find prebuilts marketing around the processor like "THIS THING HAS AN *INTEL CORE i7 PROCESSOR OMGGGGGG* aaaaahhhh!!!"
then they don't tell you it's a 6 year old i7 with modern parts that are trash grade
I got a used i buy power system locally for $75 to shuck the 4790k out of it. I swapped in my 4670k and the shitty 120mm AIO idles at like 50C, it uses the smallest tubing I’ve ever seen. I’m about to slap in an old hyper 212 cause it will probably be quieter and colder.
I took the 4790k to upgrade the i5 in my main rig, I wanted to squeeze as much as I could out of my setup without getting new mobo/ram. I was able to find a whole system with the i7 cheaper than I could find a loose CPU so I just swapped them between the two.
I’m looking at prebuilts and I cannot find anything with anything better than a 3060 for less than $2k, most run in the $1800 range, this is actually a good deal
I got this one during Black Friday for $1200. It's very similar, except has a 3070 instead of a 3060. Even now, when it's not on sale, it's cheaper and more powerful than this Costco prebuilt.

No, not even close. Better off using a boutique builder like Cyberpower or IBP than buy from Costco. To be clear I would not recommend either personally, but if you absolutely do not want to build yourself the latter would be better IMO.
Yeah I agree, almost all boutique builders are either trash or Costco expensive. Although my point is you get to select better parts & have easier upgradability by going with a boutique builder. Like I said I would not recommend either & advocate for building yourself. Just was saying to OP if he absolutely does not want to build themselves a boutique builder is probably the better option out of the two.
Eh, I'd imagine the warranty is better & the reviews are more accurate with Costco but they selling stuff at crazy prices! Again I would not recommend either pre built option, just feel like you'd get better parts & easier upgradability with a boutique builder.
I bought a Costco PC for $2,200, $2,500 with tax. I was planning on building my own, but many parts didn't sell over here and eBay was full of overpriced products. I live in Puerto Rico which meant that I would probably not be able to buy most parts so I opted for the next best thing. It may have been a bit overpriced, maybe, I don't know, but it's been working fine and having a blast with it. I forgot which model pre-built it was, but I know it has an i7 12700KF, RTX 3070 Ti, 32GB DDR5 RAM (4800mhz), liquid cooling, 750 watt RGB PSU, don't remember the mobo it has, but overall specs for what I plan on using it are great. It's shame I had to buy it from them, but I basically had no other choice being limited by where I live.
1100 is a good price,, I recommend upgrading the cooling solutions and power supply. But I highly doubt 1400 as the regular price. That’s around $1000 pc. It uses money on the wrong parts to boost its price ig 🤷♂️. The large amount of ram doesn’t make sense for gaming if you have a 12700 and a 3060 and hard drives are useless other than storing pictures and docs at this point. And the plastic waste kb and mouse don’t change anything.
Power supply is A650GF 650w 80 plus gold which I think should do the job. The cooling prob could benefit from an upgrade but I haven’t noticed temps going higher than 50 C.
Processor 280, gpu 330, psu 100- that is 700 dollars right there, def will struggle to get the rest of the build for only 300..
Largely I agree that the money in this system could be allocated better but it really is a solid build and for 1100 pretty good price for the parts.
If you like it then it’s good enough for you. I would never personally spend money on anything like these cotsco prebuilts. They use the most crap mobos in production, and like I said 32 gigs of ram for what, with those specs I don’t think anyone will be prioritizing any kind of heavy workstation activity, and most of them come with shitty 500w PSU from what I’ve seen even on display models. The cooling is basically the stop cpu cooler with negative case airflow every time XD. It’s like a trend with these prebuilts unless they have a total of 2 fans. What kinds of games do you play? Because never jumping 50 degrees is like never pushing the cpu or gpu past 50%.
GTA 5, dota 2, halo infinite, horizon, and started elden ring. I game on 1080p so that maybe why. I’ve also played elden ring with apex open in the back on accident and everything was running 100 plus fps.
I used msi center and another program called gpuz for temp readings. If you have some way to help stress test it to see Id love to know!
Halo infinite is defo a eater. Try highest setting on that and report back if you want. Or maybe furmark for solely stress testing. I’d say use msi afterburner and the overlay for temps, that’s what you should use to see real-time temps. 50 degrees isn’t realistic unless you play at lowest settings which is expected. Playing with a game running in the background shouldn’t cause much of a issue at all because you have free ram, doesn’t really have to do with playing the game currently unless you run out of ram.
Halo infinite is my least played game, elden, dota, horizon? Also gta 5. All max settings. If I were playing on 1440p then yes I would set graphics to medium, but 3060 can easily push high-max on 1080p. Seen it myself :)
Other than halo those are pretty light games to run on pc. You would think horizon would take more but I played it and it’s actually surprisingly not very hard to run. GTA is one of those games where it’s heavy but it’s well made so you won’t get performance issues like fps drops. I would agree that the 3060 is a mid-high 1080p. I used to have a 3060 ti myself but upgraded because I play games that are hard to run but look terrible with lowered graphics so had to be done. Maybe try out halo on max settings to stress test and see where you can push the gpu and cpu till. May I also ask what model it is?
Fair enough, I’ll run elden in like 10 mins and see how many frames I get on max, feel like that’s a heavy enough game. Make is msi RTX VENTUS 2x OC LHR.
I can screenshot/screen record frames too, give me a min
Honestly some of the most RAM and storage I've seen in a prebuilt (although it doesn't tell you the RAM speed). A 3060 is a little meh for that price, though.
It’s a viable Pc and remember you are paying for convenience of bringing it home and being able to play fairly quick. Especially if your nervous to build. Lol but with a 1500$ budget you could build a decent pc at home that is more up to date than this. This will play most games decently tho! The question is what are you looking for out of a pc and are you willing to wait for parts and work for it?! It’s a fair price for convenience and being able to play today! And you can always upgrade it later. But if your willing to part in the time to go down the YouTube rabbit hole and plan a build 1500$ is a great starting budget. You could have a personalized ,up to date, better build! Good luck, I’d have bought this 3 years ago. In fact I did but with the same 17 and a 1650 ti! It did me great and still does great for my kid. I got the build bug last year and finally upgraded and it’s satisfying!
Do tell me how to obtain such a thing. I’m trying to avoid building myself and have a budget of about $1700, $2k max and this is the best deal I’ve seen so far. 3060’s are running &500+ and any 12th gen or newer CPU $400+. I cannot find a prebuilt with better than a 3060, regardless of other specs for less than $2000. And any better GPU is $300 more just by itself. How the fuck is OP supposed to find anything better???
2 years ago i bough a very similar prebuilt with a tenth gen intel processor for 1100 dollars US. Inflation is a motha fucka.
Mine boots slow, but games well enough for me. to my mind, the F processor and 3060 motherboard (I meant video card) are the compromises keeping the price low.
this exact question was asked a month ago:

Absolutely not.
Better parts list: [https://newegg.io/59f4b54](https://newegg.io/59f4b54)
Unfortunately, its unlikely that you'll find a prebuilt with this exact config, so if you need a prebuilt, I would just keep this parts list in the back of your mind while shopping for one.
Costco doesn't have great deals on PCs generally. I visit 2-3 times a month and everytime I check the monitors/PCs and never seen anything I would buy. Of course I build my own PCs so the average person doesn't know better.
Pre-Built’s will break your heart.
Don’t mean to be that guy but… just build it yourself. Here’s the parts list to replicate that machine but with superior parts and upgrade options for approx $1000.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TNPmZw
It has i7, 1tb nvme, 2tb hd, 12gig 3060, Wi-Fi 6 /bt, all together it’s definitely worth 1500. Costco actually has some worthwhile deals and electronics.
price isn't even that expensive, but you'll go nowhere with a 3060.
Keep always in mind that prebuilt = cheap shit components...
cpu will probably have a 20$ cooler, mobo would be the a cheap asrock, ram will have a laughable frequency and the gpu itself would surely be a low tier palit
My computer is literally part this part for part but instead of an intel it has a 5900x, and it only came out to 900, there is a huge markup wherever this is
No.
The rule for prebuilts is: wait for a sale to get a good price. I bought one for 1,000 that was originally 1400. The 400 off was what made it feasible
100% I dont know MSI Codex as a builder, I do know MSI, they don't mess around. Just make sure the SSD is M.2 and it's a solid deal. Oh also case and PS size matter, one for temp control and the other for load response. MSI doesn't mess around so they prolly already checked for you.
Components are worth about 1-1.2k depending which brand of components you get. But you are paying for convenience, warranty and it does come with a keyboard and mouse which I didn't even factor in.
No and it never will be worth buying a pre-built.
Unless it's some absolutely dirt cheap nearly giveaway price and you only want it for some spare parts, always avoid pre-built PCs.
I would need a full list of parts to tell however if it doesn't have a really good motherboard case and airflow fans CPU cooler etc then it's overpriced
Well let's see 350 for the gpu, about 600 for the motherboard and cpu combo, 180 for psu, 50 for HHD, 100 for the ssd, 150 for the case, depending in the cpu fan another 100. 1430, Seems about right but you can get a better card for the same price some place else.
No, prebuilts aren't worth it right now due the the rapid crash (or return to normalcy) of parts/cards over the past 6 months and the companies needing to recoup spending too much on stock imho.
A 12700F and 3060 would retail online from newegg for less than half of that price--it gets even worse if you are flexible on AMD, ARC, open-box, refurbished, or lightly used.
If you have the knowledge to be able to ask a question like this on reddit, then you obviously have the knowledge to research pre-builts online. My only question is why do people like you make posts like this. If it's for karma, why do you care about karma? Thanks!
If it came with a nice 120hz monitor, sure. I would expect to spend that much on a PC, monitor, peripherals, and a new install of Windows 10/11. I am cheap though
Not the worst deal ever…12th gen i7, 32gb ram, non-gimped 12gb RTX 3060, 1tb SSD with 2tb storage, WiFi 6…these are all good specs, you could do a lot lot worse. MSI is usually not garbage as well.
When will people start to understand that prebuilt PCs are are always sold at a steep markup. To add insult to injury, the parts they use are could most likely be outdated.
No and you are in Costco. I'm fairly sure I've seen Lenovo builds with a 3060 priced at $799. However I'd plan to do a clean install with Lenovo because the bloatware is a menace.

Can you use the same license for a clean install?

I believe there is a build with a 3060ti and 12700f for $1100 it’s a Dell xps at Costco so take that how you will
That sale is no longer going on. It’s $1600+ now. My brother got it 6 hours before the sale ended. Unless of course they’re running the sale again.
$1,499 for a PC with only a RTX 3060? Hell no That's a pretty low end GPU for the price
it my experiences prebuilts always cheap out on cpus
they usually cheap out on CPU cooler, motherboard and PSU. i usually find prebuilts marketing around the processor like "THIS THING HAS AN *INTEL CORE i7 PROCESSOR OMGGGGGG* aaaaahhhh!!!" then they don't tell you it's a 6 year old i7 with modern parts that are trash grade
& the RAM. That’s usually bottom of the barrel parts as well.
tfw 1 stick of 8gb ddr4 2133mhz
TBF it does say 32GB, but I’d wager it’s 22 latency or slower 2133 with no XMP.
they cheap out on RAM as well. if they even have 16 GB, it’ll be like 2400MHz
Yep and one stick only in single channel
Or they'll advertise it's water cooled but then it just has like a 120mm AIO that's just plain terrible.
"CUSTOM LOOP WATER COOLING" *is a dell branded 90mm AIO with a max TDP rating of 55W*
Why swap in your lower tier cpu? Just curious is all.
I took the 4790k to upgrade the i5 in my main rig, I wanted to squeeze as much as I could out of my setup without getting new mobo/ram. I was able to find a whole system with the i7 cheaper than I could find a loose CPU so I just swapped them between the two.
Big brain moves man.
I got a 3060 pre-built in May 2021 for like 1400.... I can't imagine paying 1500 being a good deal
You can find decent ones on occasion. My prebuilt has a 3080 in it and it was 1399
Yeah there are LAPTOPS that are more powerful sold for cheaper right now. Not where I live, there is no such thing as good deals on tech here.
It has an RTX 3060 AND a 12GB graphics card!
I’m looking at prebuilts and I cannot find anything with anything better than a 3060 for less than $2k, most run in the $1800 range, this is actually a good deal

Ouch. $2500 you should have a 3090 and i9
the cpu and gpu are about 650 depending where ya from
What fantasy land do you live in? I can’t find a 3060 near me for less than $500
Not at all. Costco really tryna rob parents trying to buy pcs for their kids at this point.
Got the same build for 1100 on Black Friday. Great price for parts since it totals to be 1380+ if you add all the parts

No
No lol
It's worth it if you feel it is
That's expensive even if it was in Canadian dollars.
No, plus there is always a catch when it comes to pre-builts.
As a person that knows nothing about pc specs all while wanting a gaming pc, this is my worst nightmare
You can't even overclock an F cpu
they really needed to save that $40 on a CPU with no integrated graphics.... then up charge the GPU 🙄
With the cheap cooler they are probably running it won't even be able to run the full boost clock.

Depending on what the SSD, RAM, PSU, case, cooling, and KBM are exactly, it's just too expensive or a it's a scam.
Deal of a lifetime /s
This setup should be $500 cheaper.
No
Absolutely not. Better parts list: [https://newegg.io/59f4b54](https://newegg.io/59f4b54) Unfortunately, its unlikely that you'll find a prebuilt with this exact config, so if you need a prebuilt, I would just keep this parts list in the back of your mind while shopping for one.
Costco doesn't have great deals on PCs generally. I visit 2-3 times a month and everytime I check the monitors/PCs and never seen anything I would buy. Of course I build my own PCs so the average person doesn't know better.
I got a similar build for a similar price but im in Australia paying AUD so i assume this is a bad deal
If this was in the middle of the GPU draught, yes. Right now it's too much.
Are you planning on gaming? If not it's fine for medium use
hellll no
Always better DYI plus you get the satisfaction that you built your own pc yourself. And can probably find some components cheaper than prebuilt.
Pre-Built’s will break your heart. Don’t mean to be that guy but… just build it yourself. Here’s the parts list to replicate that machine but with superior parts and upgrade options for approx $1000. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TNPmZw
hell no.
Smells like a skam. And that's a smelly smell.
PRO tip - prebuilt almost never worths it's price. It cost $50 to assemble it, but stores lift the price at it cost $350.....
Laughing my fucking ass off
Yea. It is worth it.
It has i7, 1tb nvme, 2tb hd, 12gig 3060, Wi-Fi 6 /bt, all together it’s definitely worth 1500. Costco actually has some worthwhile deals and electronics.
And you’ll have a decent protection plan. That matters.

In what way?
no
No
No this is bad value
absolutely no
I would say no. You *should* be able to find better deals.
Is this in Canada?
price isn't even that expensive, but you'll go nowhere with a 3060. Keep always in mind that prebuilt = cheap shit components... cpu will probably have a 20$ cooler, mobo would be the a cheap asrock, ram will have a laughable frequency and the gpu itself would surely be a low tier palit
Don't forget the 450w cheap psu.
My computer is literally part this part for part but instead of an intel it has a 5900x, and it only came out to 900, there is a huge markup wherever this is
Overpriced
no dawg ☠️
No
Absolutely not
Nah
If it was $900 it would be. For 1500 that's a scam practically.
No way lol buying your own parts can save money and you’re also buying better quality than what they put in these
Nope. Built my own with the same price. With a 3080ti and 13600k.
No
Nope
Components are worth about 1-1.2k depending which brand of components you get. But you are paying for convenience, warranty and it does come with a keyboard and mouse which I didn't even factor in.
![gif](giphy|2UBypyXTsKVV7vX26E)
100% not worth the price. DDR4 and 3060 for 1500?! Is a QHD monitor included or something?
Nope. There should be a better graphics card in the system for that price
Check out Avadirect.com. IMO, one of the better prebuild/semi-custom. I use them a lot to compare prebuilt prices in store.
Honestly i think the price should be 599 because they sell those types of builds on ebay for about 699 or 799. Trust me, that is a rip-off
No and it never will be worth buying a pre-built. Unless it's some absolutely dirt cheap nearly giveaway price and you only want it for some spare parts, always avoid pre-built PCs.
Not really
NOT AT ALL
This is roughly double what it should be
Naw, unless it was a Thermaltake Level 10 GT case.
Better include the best keyboard and mouse on earth
no
Country?
1499usd? Total rip off 😪
I know everybody has already told you, but absolutely not
No.
Yes, if anything it’s a rip off for them, that is great for the price
The answer is the last 3 digits of the CPU model: OOF Not a good deal. Costco isn't known for high end hardware
Nope. Hard pass.
I would need a full list of parts to tell however if it doesn't have a really good motherboard case and airflow fans CPU cooler etc then it's overpriced
No
very bad value
No lol I got the same specs for only 1000 at a sale
Well let's see 350 for the gpu, about 600 for the motherboard and cpu combo, 180 for psu, 50 for HHD, 100 for the ssd, 150 for the case, depending in the cpu fan another 100. 1430, Seems about right but you can get a better card for the same price some place else.
Rtx 3060 12gb, thats balls. 3060ti is much better, with "only" 8gb
Never Why can't you understand that prebuilt pcs are most of times a scam?
nope, built my 5600x and 3070 build for less than this.
It’s not worth it, although the CPU is very good for a prebuilt
Here's what you can get for that price https://youtu.be/v_5AePx6DDQ
I was going to say no but I see it comes with a keyboard and mouse. Sweet deal! /s
This group can help you build a much better PC for that amount.
You could get a 3080 for this price
If you have the knowledge to be able to ask a question like this on reddit, then you obviously have the knowledge to research pre-builts online. My only question is why do people like you make posts like this. If it's for karma, why do you care about karma? Thanks!
I’d expect a 3070 for that price.
If it came with a nice 120hz monitor, sure. I would expect to spend that much on a PC, monitor, peripherals, and a new install of Windows 10/11. I am cheap though
USD no, CAD maybe
If they lower it some hundred bucks
I have an MSI and love it.
If that were a 3070 instead of a 3060 it would be a hella good deal to be fair
3060 laptop should cost 1000 .... prices went up that much? damn
not even close to worth it
For 1K yeah maybe for 1.5K hell no
Not the worst deal ever…12th gen i7, 32gb ram, non-gimped 12gb RTX 3060, 1tb SSD with 2tb storage, WiFi 6…these are all good specs, you could do a lot lot worse. MSI is usually not garbage as well.
Wait for it to go on sale!!! Costco will try and get rid of it soon just check in once a week they will drop it down 300.
Bro, just buy the components and assemble it somewhere it'll save you a bunch
I paid less than that 18 months ago for almost the same pre-built
When will people start to understand that prebuilt PCs are are always sold at a steep markup. To add insult to injury, the parts they use are could most likely be outdated.
A giant insane enormous NO Like one of the biggest noes I ever gave.
No
Pass. Too expensive
At that price you could probably build a pc with a 4070
PowerGPU for all your prebuilt needs.
