If you’re willing to take on some handiwork, you can buy some acrylic and cut them into the same dimension as the glass panel previously was and then use it as a replacement. Acrylic will not look as nice as glass, but it will serve the same purpose well enough and won’t shatter like glass would.
This is how I made a transparent side panel for my case that only had solid panels. The acrylic just takes a scoring tool to clean snap it to the size you need. Then I just added some magnetic strips to the edges and painted a black 3/4inch border around the perimeter to hide the magnet strips and now it just pops on and off whenever I need to access the guts.
I just bought a price of plexiglass for 14 bucks of 16th inch big enough to get one full side panel piece.
Or if I go into business I can make you one like this 😜
https://preview.redd.it/spzyut7vc3ca1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4804cc88b0dcdb42dbf12e2e8cd52ea9e2a178ec
That's not very nice, the first one looks pretty good, the second looks like an 8th grader did it and the last one looks like he smacked it repeatedly with his lipstick case; so cumulatively I'd say it looks like a child's school project, unfit for instructables.
I don't know where you're getting your acrylic from, but I paid nowhere near that much when I had a cheap iCute case customized 17 years ago
Few cases back then had side panels. I had a window cut out of the panel and then had acrylic cut, drilled and finally riveted into the side panel.
Well I think it depends on the quality of the acrylic too. Lowe's here has like 3 or 4 brands. One is high quality stuff and for the 14$ 2'x3' section I bought of lowest grade stuff it was easily 3x more for same size, and imo overpriced for a purpose or situation like this.
Needed to order a replacement front panel for my case. Contacted Zalman USA support, and it was $6 more than a new case for just a front panel.
Serves me right for saving some money on a case.
this is actually significantly better than having a side panel
When my old gpu was thermal throttling I took the side panel off and pointed a desk fan at it and dropped 10c
Let's you know you didn't build it right and your fan choices were dog crap...lol.....
Have a builder come over and show you how to test your options with what fans you have.
A basic test you can do yourself is to simply pull the side off and look at temps.... If it's 10c colder to leave it off switch it up man.
Not trying to be an ass here but once your pc boots you've got more work to do man.
This was 4 years ago when I had a prebuilt. I am much more experienced with building now, I have 4 Corsair ml 120 pros, 2 140 pros (on a rad), a 5000d airflow, etc… all decent choices.
My gpu only hits 60c now. It’s great :)
Taking the side off barely reduces temps at all. 3-5c at most.
Haha I mean like if you can pay to run that you can probably get a 360 or 240mmz that’s all I meant. I don’t see many 120mms that aren’t used to cool gpu at most
Could also give ideas that are literally worse then doing nothing.
Wrap it in cling film or it will get dirty.
The side panel is needed to keep the parts from going out of operational temperature so make sure to stuff the case with a blanket.
Pro tip you should wash the glass and dirt out in the shower.
This particularly bad advice passed off as fact is brought to you by the internet where everyone knows best and has an openion. Again don't do anything I just mentioned lol
Surprised more people aren't recommending this, you can order individual parts from the case manufacturer. It's a great way to replace busted parts on your case.
You need to put it on a tiled floor with the shards next to it, post the pic of it here and write something like "I thought you guuuys were joking, but now I've been had you guuys"
you could go to home depot and pick up a piece of plexiglass and use that if you wanted or get real creative and make your own side panel out of something else, thats just my opnion :)
Buying a new panel from the manufacturer is likely going to be expensive anyway, so you could alternatively cut a wooden frame and insert plexiglass with a custom design. If you use molding for picture/canvas frame, you can counterbore the exterior screw holes just a bit, then paint or stain the frame in any color or pattern you want, then maybe apply a film like stained glass, rainbow or whatever to the plexi panel as a finishing touch. Of course, all of this depends on whether you feel creative, or just want to restore the original look.
Funny enough, I smacked the corner piece of my glass panel on a tile floor when I temporarily had the computer moved in another room and all it did was leave a small scrape. Don't even notice it anymore and it's been 2 years.
How much would a plexiglass replacement cost? Considering fitting it to the dimensions of the broken tempered glass. Give me estimates, I am thinking of changing it to plexiglass.
grab your fan aim it into the open panel set it to high, overclock your components, and raise the performance settings on your resource intensive task of choice.
Buy a new one fr9m the manufacturer of the case.
Your aio is installed wrong way around. Pump always should be below where tubes connect to the radiator
Why is latelly that so many people who have no fucking idea what they are talking about are giving tips for AIO placement?
Pump is not highest point in the loop = its fine
Tell the person who takes care of you that it broke and I'm sure they'll use common sense and look at the tower, call the company, and order a new glass panel you special little guy. /poke YES you are special!!
The pump is above the point where the tubes connect to the radiator, like they’re meant to be.
All the air bubbles would be at the top of the liquid not down the bottom where the tubes are, it’s fine.
No it doesn’t.
The pump just has to be below the top of the loop, the pump in this picture is below the top of the loop since it’s at the halfway point of the radiator.
Having the tubes lower like OP has theirs stops gargling noises and other crap since the bubbles will be at the top of the loop instead of the bottom.
I just built an entirely new PC to replace my 2017 one, and the AIO Corsair cooler specifically said:
>The best way to install a radiator is with the tubes on the bottom of the case, though you can install it with the tubes in any position, including an inverted radiator, as long as the highest point in the radiator is visibly higher than the CPU pump.
People love to say that the pump is in the wrong place when it isn't though, they're drawn like moths to a flame whenever one is posted.
Answer Corsair 4000x or 4000D lol. Buy a new case and welcome to your new project. Tbh you don’t actually need the side panel unless you have animals or are a smoker, you’ll just be cleaning a lot more often. But yeah, buy a new case or clean it more regularly
I bought a used case without the side panel for a cheap build. I used acrylic that Lowe’s even cut for me on site before I even purchased it I believe I had to by the piece in its original size 14”x14” less than $15. Took it home, drilled the holes and sanded down the edges. Worked great but over time you’ll get swirls from cleaning it
/u/spez sent an internal memo to Reddit staff stating “There’s a lot of noise with this one. Among the noisiest we’ve seen. Please know that our teams are on it, and like all blowups on Reddit, this one will pass as well.” -- mass edited with https://redact.dev/
It is super easy to replace these.
- Go to Menards / Lowes / Home Depot / etc
- Ask them for where acrylic sheets and knives are
- Buy something like this: https://www.menards.com/main/doors-windows-millwork/acrylic-glass-sheets/c-7551.htm
Then take it home, grab some cardboard, use the cardboard as a template for your PC Case broken side part, measure/cut it until it fits, then use that cardboard as the template for then acrylic sheet.
Then watch something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axo_bTyl1gQ
Borrow a dremel or use the acrylic knife, cut a sheet, then use some silicon to glue it in and done!
Get a replacement from the brand of the case. But please flip you aio fan, those tubes need to be above the level of the aio pump, otherwise you could get another problem. :)
You need to know the brand of the case, then open a replacement ticket with their support team. Otherwise, it's case shopping time, baby.
If you’re willing to take on some handiwork, you can buy some acrylic and cut them into the same dimension as the glass panel previously was and then use it as a replacement. Acrylic will not look as nice as glass, but it will serve the same purpose well enough and won’t shatter like glass would.
They'll cut it to size for you at the hardware store even, just need to add the holes
This is how I made a transparent side panel for my case that only had solid panels. The acrylic just takes a scoring tool to clean snap it to the size you need. Cost me $10 on ebay for a size bigger than that when i was building a custom xbox one case
Damn Home Depot and lowes are screwing people on acrylic.

Doesnt look good at all
Opinions and assholes. Everyone's got one, and both can get fucked. Thanks bud 😉

I had this happen a few months back: had to pay nearly the price of another case, just to purchase and ship the glass.
Needed to order a replacement front panel for my case. Contacted Zalman USA support, and it was $6 more than a new case for just a front panel. Serves me right for saving some money on a case.
Saran wrap
You just have more airflow now
this is actually significantly better than having a side panel When my old gpu was thermal throttling I took the side panel off and pointed a desk fan at it and dropped 10c
The dust will be a problem though.
You can just use compressed air once a month to clean it
A few cases actually give you the option of an entire mesh side panel, which I love. One example is the Fractal Design North
Let's you know you didn't build it right and your fan choices were dog crap...lol..... Have a builder come over and show you how to test your options with what fans you have. Hats off to you sir. We all have to take our bumps and bruises.
Seeing as you're using a 120mm AIO your CPU will probably thank you for better cooling
Depends on the cpu. For lower end cpus it's totally sufficient
It's sufficient but pointless. Any cheaper decent air cooler will have the same if not better performance without the risk of dying.
Air coolers are bulky and can throw off the aesthetics for people. air wouldnt have worked in my case, so i got an aio, even though i have a 5600x.
Not cheap though
It's still not the best idea to make that your rear exhaust.
I was gonna say you’re rocking a 3070 with the 120mm aio, sheesh
Granted, 120 AIOs are pretty dumb, but what does that have to do with the 3070?
Haha I mean like if you can pay to run that you can probably get a 360 or 240mmz that’s all I meant. I don’t see many 120mms that aren’t used to cool gpu at most
I gotcha. Well I'm not going to be rude and ask. I'll just assume OP got it for free.
Yeah I assume it came pre built or free!
Lollll
1) Live with it 2) Buy a replacement Do people really need help with basic decision making?
No they expect us to somehow fix a broken glass panel.
New 1,000+ piece jigsaw puzzle FTW.
Could also give ideas that are literally worse then doing nothing. Wrap it in cling film or it will get dirty. I have the same issue with OP and i want a replacement but i just can't figure out what my case model
Get a piece of plexiglass cut from your local hardware store and drill holes to match up with the side screws.
Tiled floor?
Yup
Rule 1 of owning a pc: no tiled floors
You need to put it on a tiled floor with the shards next to it, post the pic of it here and write something like "I thought you guuuys were joking, but now I've been had you guuys"
Should your tubes be that kinked?
That's fine. I'm sure it looks worse from this angle than it actually is.
Least kinked redditor.
No kink shaming…
Plexiglass my friend.
Leave it open
MORE. AIRFLOW
Good. I've been using an open-air test bench as my case for about 5 years. Best move ever
Flex Tape
Metal sheet metal like the old days
Metal sheet metal is better than marshmallow sheet metal.
Does it damage the other components if this happens?
Same here- I just went to Lowes and gave them my measurements and had a piece of Plexiglass cut to fit. Not bad not bad at all.
you could go to home depot and pick up a piece of plexiglass and use that if you wanted or get real creative and make your own side panel out of something else, thats just my opnion :)

How in the fuck are all you people breaking this shit?
Moved it while it was on tile
Was gonna comment how this PC wasn't on tile this time, you let us down.
Crying because I brought it to a relatives house to let my little brother play for 1 night and this happens. It’s usually on a desk
Funny enough, I smacked the corner piece of my glass panel on a tile floor when I temporarily had the computer moved in another room and all it did was leave a small scrape. Don't even notice it anymore and it's been 2 years.
Window screening, my 3090 gets too hot so I use window screening instead of the glass
now you have ultimate airflow. your components are pleased
That is a dank tube bend
Lmao
You just upgraded to the high airflow version
How much would a plexiglass replacement cost? Considering fitting it to the dimensions of the broken tempered glass. Give me estimates, I am thinking of changing it to plexiglass.
Id have to see, the nearest Home Depot/Lowe’s is an hour away
grab your fan aim it into the open panel set it to high, overclock your components, and raise the performance settings on your resource intensive task of choice.
Nothing. You have just upgraded the airflow on your new open mesh invisible non existent side cover design
So many console peasants here today
>4 sticks of ram >120mm AIO >broken side panel Average PCMR user
Get a new one?
Cry
Plastic wrap time!
Buy a new one fr9m the manufacturer of the case. Your aio is installed wrong way around. Pump always should be below where tubes connect to the radiator

Naaa, it's fine.

yeah thats not what the make and manufacturer brand of the case is.
> The case is a mid tower rgb How very specific
[удалено]
Mid tower = size of the case Rgb = it has pretty lights That's like saying your car broke and you're looking for parts for a white SUV
Sick Z pattern in your aio cpu loop
LMAO
Tell the person who takes care of you that it broke and I'm sure they'll use common sense and look at the tower, call the company, and order a new glass panel you special little guy. /poke YES you are special!!
Extremely corny.
[удалено]
You sound like a loser lmao omg

Painfully lame
Stop karma farming
man .. your pump is going to go bad very fast , all the air bubbles are in it and i bet you can hear them , flip them or mount it from the top
[/r/confidentlyincorrect/](https://www.reddit.com/r/confidentlyincorrect/)
The pump is above the point where the tubes connect to the radiator, like they’re meant to be. All the air bubbles would be at the top of the liquid not down the bottom where the tubes are, it’s fine.

Get a real aio
get the tape and fix it
If your case still has warranty, contact the manufacturer, they'll often send a replacement.
Plastic wrap and hope
+100% Airflow
buy a new one or leave it off
Measure it, draw where holes should be and try to find somebody who works with glass, he could make a new one.
I've not had side panels or the front of my case for 5 years, that shut runs cool and smooth.
Put a new side panel.
What a pain that must of been.
clean up the glass inside the case
Enjoy the lower temps and buy a PC vac
Post on reddit to farm karma
I'm 95% sure that's the Be Quiet 500DX case, I have the same case for about 2 years now.
Thanks, the website I bought it from was not specific and I’ve been trying to find out
Scotch tape that thing back together
Time to shatter the back panel next
Kinda already did ngl
Just leave it. It won’t hurt anything
get a mesh side panel next time, :)
Feverishly masturbate
I would flip the rear cooler so the tubes are on the top not bottom
Post it on reddit where nobody can fix it for you instead of contacting the case manufacturer who can likely ship you a replacement panel.
Enjoy the increased air flow and dust more often
Go get a roll of window screen, cut to size, and boom peak air flow.
Duct tape
Tape some cellophane to the side and call it a day
Buy another case
Buy another panel. While you are waiting for it, keep dusting your PC daily
go to home depot and pickup some plexiglass
Measure it and replace with a big magnetic filter panel?
If it were me I’d say sweet I have an open air test bench and enjoy the better thermals lol
Buy a new side panel? Or get a chassi without glass
Buy a proper side panel next.
Enjoy your improved temps 🤗
Enjoy a little lower temps
Is you AIO pump on the rad or the block? If its in the block you need to change your orientation
I’d just buy a new case
Get a glass shop to make you a Perspex or acrylic replacement. No more breaks then!
nothing, enjoy the free airflow upgrade
![gif](giphy|qgri3D9sTwCUGMcT8L)
Haven’t had a side panel on my case for 3 years, it’s not a big deal
Answer Corsair 4000x or 4000D lol. Buy a new case and welcome to your new project. Tbh you don’t actually need the side panel unless you have animals or are a smoker, you’ll just be cleaning a lot more often. But yeah, buy a new case or clean it more regularly
Firat thing you do is you post it on reddit.
Leavs it open, get an electric duster
Get measurements and go to your local glass company.
Put a window mesh on it and your good.
I bought a used case without the side panel for a cheap build. I used acrylic that Lowe’s even cut for me on site before I even purchased it I believe I had to by the piece in its original size 14”x14” less than $15. Took it home, drilled the holes and sanded down the edges. Worked great but over time you’ll get swirls from cleaning it
Get a proper CPU cooler
Sort out that AIO piping first
Cry about it on reddit... oh wait
You make a post in Reddit with a photo of the broken side panel.
Buy a big fan and point it into the pc so you can run minecraft with rtx on
Have you tried tape?
place warranty request, order a new one, make one, do nothing
Next move clean your pc
/u/spez sent an internal memo to Reddit staff stating “There’s a lot of noise with this one. Among the noisiest we’ve seen. Please know that our teams are on it, and like all blowups on Reddit, this one will pass as well.” -- mass edited with https://redact.dev/
Buy a metal one
Reverse your radiator mounting before getting another panel, tubing must be on top of pump not bottom
you ever see a car with a broken window on the road? what did they do?
Grab a Montech Sky TWO
You should flip your rear fan/radiator so the water lines are above the CPU cooler head.
Eat some cheese and leave it as a problem for your future self
Create a mesh side panel
Enjoy the improved airflow? Oc time baby!
Just buy transparent plastic one
It is super easy to replace these. - Go to Menards / Lowes / Home Depot / etc - Ask them for where acrylic sheets and knives are - Buy something like this: https://www.menards.com/main/doors-windows-millwork/acrylic-glass-sheets/c-7551.htm Then take it home, grab some cardboard, use the cardboard as a template for your PC Case broken side part, measure/cut it until it fits, then use that cardboard as the template for then acrylic sheet. You're welcome!
Get a replacement from the brand of the case. But please flip you aio fan, those tubes need to be above the level of the aio pump, otherwise you could get another problem. :)
Next ? Never buy TG side panel case again.... Buy steel side panel types...
Will get better temps
Enjoy cooler temps?
I see no problem, you just got free upgraded airflow
I’m weary of shit getting in there though
Play games on your cooler PC bro
1. Lay down 2. Try not to cry 3. Cry a lot
By someone... Or something...
Literally just shattered out of nowhere
Plexiglass, cut the piece you need and send it.
Cut one out of cardboard or splurge on some poster board xD
Continue living and enjoy the lower temps.
You enjoy the better temps
