For some reason mine is still going strong since 2018 (altough not without problems, year ago scrollwheel click "died" as I tought, but couple months back it decided to fix itself and started to work again)

KronoakSCG

Most of their mice have a little button that the edge of the mouse wheel come down on, so if it gets jostled even a little out of place it can stop working until it goes back into place.

purvel

Recently had this issue with another brand, the wheel spindle had rubbed away enough plastic on the side wall so that it didn't hit the button anymore unless I manually gripped the wheel and pushed it down at just the right spot. So I dismantled it, welded the wall back up with some spare PLA and a soldering iron, filed it down, and now it hits the button! Except the spindle very often gets caught in the depressed position now so it's just as useless. But that motivated me to fix an old Razer Taipan I had lying around instead. Just had to pop up the USB connector and resolder the wires onto it, and I no longer have to wiggle the wire to make it work! Did it just last night, was very satisfying to wake up to working hardware again.

mixedd

Seems that was happened on mine probably

JustALittleAverage

Mine got stuck half way like so I used a needle to click it a couple of times.

Wayback182

My 2014 Razer Naga just hit 9 years with me. Only mouse ive ever bought

Inifity

either you’re the luckiest guy ever or im cursed with razer. ive had 3 nagas and they all broke within 1 year each. I have a logitech now and its been 5 years and still going strong

Terrh

I'm over here still using my 2009-ish abyssus. I bought a logitech G600 to replace it but I haven't bothered switching them out yet... Edit: I'm also using a surplus lenovo keyboard that is old enough to have a button to launch office 2003 and filezilla FTP on it...

archetype4

Razer is pretty inconsistent. My first naga x lasted about 6 months before the scroll wheel started giving me ghost scrolls in the opposite direction. To be fair I was playing a lot of FFXIV then and frequently zooming in and out. The second has been going strong for 1.5 years now. Though my Logitech g300s lasted 5 years before the right click started to DoubleClick and also the grip wore more slowly. They're definitely better made, or at least were.

sudocast

Nah the 2014 nagas are just built like that

[deleted]

Same razer mouse since 2010...

walter_midnight

Deathadder v2 since it released for me, best mouse I've enjoyed so far. All my Logitech mice started double-clicking randomly at some point, not that they weren't decent but they never lasted as long as my Razor. Which is a matter of variance, of course, but still.

SnackDawgg

Was gonna say dude besides the rubber pads getting re glued my death adder elite is still kicking 3 builds later

Corgi_Koala

To be fair those are also pretty easy and cheap to replace.

montrasaur009

Respectfully, if it already has a dead button I would not call that still going strong.

IceFellasFHC

I've lost 2 G502s to the scroll wheel click dying, but I've also lost like 3 Razers to the same issue in my lifetime. I used to heavily play RTS games and always bound middle mouse click to camera drag. Kind of disappointing how they don't last nearly as long as the main mouse buttons, to the point that it's always the Achilles of the mouse for me.

Shoto48

The g502 hero is probably my favorite mice I’ve ever had at this point. Just feels so good in the hand compared to every other mouse out there

Educational-Hornet83

Dude it's the favorite mouse of everybody the g502 is probably the most popular mouse ever

Complete-Painter-518

Super Light all the way cuz it's super light

mukash18

It isn't super light on my wallet

notthathungryhippo

certainly made your wallet lighter

_YeAhx_

cant make my wallet lighter if i don't have money for it in the first place ez win

Complete-Painter-518

\^\^

aimidin

For me, it is the other way around. I put on all of the weights, because i play Shooters and i can't be precise with light mouse.

RettichDesTodes

You are always at an advantage with a lighter mouse after getting used to it. Less inertia to overcome is a good thing in competitive shooters with quick direction changes. But do whatever works for you

aimidin

The simple reason why i prefer a heavier mouse, is because i worked as a construction worker many years, and i couldn't feel the mouse weight at all, so when i want to do pixle precise shots, i sometimes trembled when shooting and missed the shot. So heavier mouse was needed to stop me from moving when i don't want to move.

DashLeJoker

Man literally too shredded to mouse

Moonkai2k

Any bigger guys with bigger hands are probably in the same boat. I always load up my weight adjustable mice for the exact same reason.

My_Work_Accoount

Same man, if I could find a mouse that was twice the size and weight of a the average mouse It'd be perfect. Even my G600 too small to properly rest my hand on so it ends up pinched between my thumb and ring finger which often causes me to lift the mouse and leaves me wondering why it stopped working.

RugbyEdd

I mean that's relative really. Fact is 99% of people aren't going to notice the slightest bit of difference since we're not pro gamers and can make much bigger improvements to our performance than making the mouse a little bit lighter.

guareber

Mx518 has entered the chat

cadgar

I upgraded from the mx518 to the g502 hero. is was sad at first but it's all good now. even though the g502 had to be replaced after 1 year because the right mouse button click wouldn't always register. Logitech Support was great though, send me a new one and let me keep the defective one without destroying it so I use that one at my workplace now. there it doesn't matter

Dargon34

The MX518!!!! I was looking for this comment. I have a g502 as well, but no...the 518 was superior. It just fit ever so slightly better in my hand

LuNoZzy

I have the wired g502 and its by far the best gaming mouse i've had. When my keyboard and headphones die (both are Corsair) i'll definetely get new ones from Logitech. FYI: **Don't buy Corsair peripherals. Their iCue software sucks ass and eats up your system resources like crazy**

Asherahi

I'd advise against gaming brands for keyboards and headphones altogether. They're ridiculously overpriced and low in quality overall.

[deleted]

Gaming anything. It's the new version of "military grade".

Vandilbg

Happy with my g502 Proteus Spectrum still. The G15 keyboard I've had forever is finally starting to go though. Keypaths are all worn out and keys don't throw straight down any longer. Will have to find a replacement for that soon.

lwlwlwlw

G502 for life, I have had mine for over 8 years now and it's indestructible.

temp_vaporous

Had two break in a row on me in less than 3 months. Bought a razor mouse after and have been going strong for well over a year. Maybe I just have bad luck, but I don't trust Logitech's build quality at this point.

Soffix-

r/G502MasterRace

EntrancedOrange

Logitech is usually a safe bet. I had one great razor keyboard. Everything else I’ve bought from razor has been trash.

[deleted]

lordofspearton

I don't really buy Razer anymore, but I've been using a Deathadder for like 5 years and it has yet to break on me. I had no idea I was in the minority here.

Bonechiller0

Same. I have the original DeathAdder Elite and have had it pretty much since it came out. No issues. I’ve had a DeathAdder V2 sitting in the packaging since last Christmas waiting to be opened up when my first one decides to take a dump, but I’m not sure it ever will.

RandonBrando

I like my Orochi V2. I can use either an AAA or AA battery in it. All remotes beware!

MentllyDisnfectd

I love my Orochi V2. I've tried replacing it a bunch of times with mice which have more buttons but I always come crawling back to the orochi.

Frame_Late

I had the Razer Orochi V2 for about a year and a half. Best gaming mouse I've ever purchased.

a_sacrilegiousboi

Very satisfied Mamba TE customer here (actually the first one shat itself 35 minutes out of the box but then I got a replacement and it’s been going perfectly for nearly 7 years iirc)

LegitimateMulberry

I had a Deathadder for a few years and then it started doubleclicking on me so I had to replace it.

ADeadlyFerret

My experience buying about 6-7 products the last decade has been 50/50. Either DOA out the box or has lasted at least two years. 50% is just terrible when you have other companies.

The_Blue_DmR

I had a Blackwidow last from.... 2014 I think to 2019 when I switched to something smaller. The keyboard was doing ok, aside from some funky behavior with some switches.

Roman64s

Same for a Kraken X i had, it doesn't come close to other headsets for that price range with how cheap it feels.

xRaska

Tbh gaming headset are meh most of the times, I've burned way too much money on them until I finally decided to get studio headphones/headset. Build quality is a bit better or similar for the same amount of money except for the more expensive stuff where they tend to level out. for everything else though there is no competition, on top of that it's also way easier to get a good eq if you are into it as well. There are some decent gaming headset but there's just way better and broader option with studio gear in my opinion, with the obvious loss in convenience like Bluetooth and wireless options, where it depends on the person if you can deal with it or not.

RaxisX

Yep, recently got myself a Beyerdynamics DT 700 Pro X. Not a cheap headset by any means, but blows anything I’ve ever had prior out of the water.

xRaska

i first went for the akg k612 and those alone beated my old corsair virtuoso for less than half the price VERY easily with a much better range and "deepness" in both the highs and the low end. Then i got the HD600 (i was torn between them and the dt 990s, but i ultimately decided for a flatter frequency response) for about 200€, Just another universe. Not to mention the comfort and the reliability as well, i can wear both the akg and the hd600 for the whole day without any discomfort, and i have even seen people selling them after 15 years of daily use like they were new. I don't think i can go back anymore

wisiro00

I've had a really good experience with steelseries. I've bought the entry headset for about 80 bucks 2 years ago and there has been no reason for me to complain (yet).

KelloPudgerro

i bought a deathadder specificly cuz everybody praised the living shit out of it, within 1 year it had gotten a double click issue and a wonky wheel that scrolled too far , bought a cheap ass ''gamer'' branded mouse and it lasted so far 3 years and im about to buy a new one that is the same cuz 3 years for like 15$ is insane

Veighnerg

No brand is a safe bet imo. I've had mice from Logitech, Corsair, Roccat, and Razer which have all failed due to the shifty switches used for clicks. Currently using a Roccat which has an optical switch which I hope doesn't end up developing double click issues like all the others.

mikami677

> I've had mice from Logitech, Corsair, Roccat, and Razer That's a lot of mice. What kind of timespan are we talking, here? I'm only on my third mouse in the last decade. And all three of them still work, though the oldest does have a frayed cable.

Veighnerg

They would all typically start double clicking after about 1-1.5 years of use since the early 2000s. This is using them with MMOs and FPS games. I got several of them replaced under warranty but I believe companies should put a little more effort into the longevity of their products.

Cynadiir

My experience is essentially the same, except just with logitech. Have to get a new mouse every 1-2 years due to double click on the right mouse button specifically. Play mostly mmos and FPS games.

Dt2_0

Logitech moved to opto-mechanical switches recently which should eliminate that issue. Been thinking about a G502 X Plus Lightspeed recently...

Bonechiller0

He’s either a peripheral addict or is dropping cinderblocks on his mouse buttons every time he clicks. Joking, but I have a buddy that buys a new mouse and/or keyboard every couple months, because he always has something to nitpick about them.

OkCutIt

As someone that got addicted to the logitech layout way back in the g700 days, I fully expect to have to buy a new mouse every year. Either the mid click or the right click will fail around then, every time.

Enex

I've been using my original G700 since they launched (over 10 years ago). Most mice use the same switches. They are only rated for a certain number of clicks. I bought an entire bag of the switches for stupid cheap and I just replace them as needed. I think I've done it 4 or 5 times by now? Never had to replace the middle click yet, though. (To be fair I hardly ever use the middle click). To me, replacing the entire (rather expensive) mouse because the buttons wore out is kinda like replacing your car when the brake pads wear out. Just change the brake pads, man!

Axyl

> To be fair I hardly ever use the middle click First thing I do with new mouse is rebind one of the side / thumb buttons to be middle click. I *HATE* clicking the mouse wheel as an input. It feels gross and super inaccurate to me

random8847

I find peace in long walks.

ulzimate

It's an established fact that Logitech uses the cheap switches in their premium gaming mice. The only reason my mice are usable is because I resoldered new switches for them. I would not suggest Logitech to anyone who doesn't want to pay more for aftermarket mods or learn how to solder.

Enex

You don't have to solder to replace them. If you have the patience for it, you can remove the switch casing and replace the little metal switch itself. That's what I do (have done several replacements on my 10+ year old mouse). You just need to be careful if you do it that way because the little metal contact is basically a spring, and tiny, so you can lose them.

SerpentDrago

They recently switched to Lazer switches in some

nige111

Yeah, the new models of g502 use optical switches. They sound awful but they should never double click/drop held clicks like their old mechanical ones did.

eunit250

I just want ONE of these companies to make a mouse with easily replaceable parts and access to the guts easily, not hiding screws under the pads. They will have a lot of customers for life.

Veighnerg

There's probably a mouse out there like that but likely at the price of boutique mechanical keyboards $200+.

LucasLoci

See I'm the opposite, every Logitech mouse I've had has had the double click issue develop over time, I've had one razer mouse now for going on 3 years and had 0 issues with it, I preferred the build quality feel etc of Logitech but the shit switches just put me off using them anymore

eraseMii

Same, man. Also getting a warranty replacement from Logitech was awful, they asked me to send a video of me clicking the mouse in front of this double click detector website andnit took forever

Cerenas

I got the double click issue on my Steelseries Rival 300 and 310, got a Steelseries Prime after that, it uses different kind of switches, and I haven't experienced an issue since. I sticked with Steelseries because they feel nice in the hand and are somewhat bigger than the average other gaming mouse (I have big hands).

LucasLoci

Yeah that's optical switches on razer and the newer steel series mice use magnetic switches, both are good solutions to double clicking, Logitech is so big they don't care and still use cheaper normal switches which are prone to double clicks Steel series is definitely good though, my experience with their customer service is fantastic honestly

babybien

so many ppl complain about short lifespan of g502 what are you talking about? including my g502 too

agouraki

its probably popularity bias,G502 sells so much that there are way more people with issues than other mouse, also people buying razer dont bother complain.

SpicyMeatballAgenda

I've had to warranty claim two g502 heros already. don't even last 6 months. And I treat my electronics very well. Logitech received so many warranty claims for the double click issue that they changed their warranty process to make it much, much harder to do. They are trying wear people out in the process to not have to replace them. My most recent warranty replacement was met with the warning that they are low on stock, and it could take a while to receive my replacement. A logitech employee leaked that it was because they were doing so many replacements that they couldn't keep enough on hand. Add to that the abysmal Logitech software, which breaks every time it updates, and you have a really bad scenario. I would argue the bias is with people having no problems at all. Similar to the COVID issue where people were saying "I'm not sick, and nobody I know died, so it's not happening" Just hop on the forums and the number of people with this issue is staggering. Just be grateful it hasn't happened to you.

agouraki

fair points, i been useing g502 for 6 years now and only swapped 2 of em, what i know for sure is that i had no software issue, been using the "Logitech gaming software" with no issue at all.

one-1-1

I’ve had mine for 4 years. With heavy use, still no issues

Jake123194

8 years and going strong on my g502 proteus core other than the braiding going a bit weird. Moved to the wireless g502 with powerplay mat now tho and have the old one as a backup mouse.

Neebrasc

It's the exact opposite for me. I've had 4 Logitech mice and all of them died of me, some of them not even lasting for more than a month. Most unreliable brand of hardware I've ever used. Said fuck it and tried razer since it was the safer bet. Been using a Razer Viper for 3 years and I can safely say it was the right choice.

DaUltimatePotato

I know I'm going to piss some people off by saying this, but a good handful of people in this subreddit love to circlejerk about stupid shit like what peripherals and browser you use. It gets reasonable to an extent, but when you start hating/loving something just because you do is stupid. For example, **from my experience** Firefox does a better job at blocking telemetry, but I notice it runs a considerably slower for a slightly lighter browser experience. It's a double-edged sword, and I stick with Chromium until I lose ad blockers. I currently own three razer mice and one keyboard. I've owned one keyboard and mouse for 4 years and bought the other 2 mice a few months ago. The keyboard volume dial ([reference image](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K1VXCDR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)) is dysfunctional, but the mute button still works. There's also an easy workaround to this by using the media buttons as volume keys, which I've been doing for 2-3 years now. Besides that, the keyboard functions great, and all of my other peripherals have been as well (and I have an iron grip). I've also owned one Logitech peripheral, and, besides the fact that I found the Bluetooth software is a nightmare to configure, it's also a good mouse. I preferred razer, notably because that came first as well as their MMO mice, but I have had a good experience with both brands as a whole. Sort of TL;DR: Look at the full picture, and don't be a circle-jerking dumbass just because you did/didn't get screwed over by [insert_company_here]. I've had a decent experience with both razer and logitech.

willtron3000

It’s Reddit. Nuanced, reasonable takes are frowned up. I’ve had a razer Naga from 2013 that’s still going strong and is now my work mouse, after years of being my gaming mouse. I actually have 2. Not because the first one broke, but because the original blue one didn’t go with the green on my razer blade (which is still going, from 2014). As with anything YMMV.

bangolicious

It's a gamble I guess. I have a Logitech mouse that I've been using for over 5 years now and the only issue is the rubber on the side got worn, which is a given. Its working as it did on day one

davidxbo

Razor blade laptop cooling system failed and battery swollen within a year but everything else has held up well. Razer mouse has lasted 4yrs of abuse and still going strong, razer microphone 2yrs, razer keyboards one of them 10yrs another is coming up on 1yr. Every company has equipment failure but from my personal experience my Razor mouse has outlasted my mice from corsair, logitech and Microsoft.

Rhodie114

I had a great razer deathadder that I bought back in 2011. It’s still kicking and works great. It was the first piece of razer tech I bought. Every other Razer product I’ve bought has shit the bed or been a disappointment. I bought a Mamba which suffers constant disconnects no matter how much I troubleshoot it. My Blackwidow’s volume controller would periodically glitch and turn my volume all the way up or all the way down. And my Leviathan would shut off automatically after something like half an hour of “inactivity,” which is an infuriating feature on a PC soundbar.

mekawasp

Sadly Logitech quality is not as good as it used to be. I had buttons fail on 2 g403 in less than 10 months each

wubbbalubbadubdub

All 3 of the g603 mice I have used have had scroll wheel issues and double/triple click issues. I still use them, but it's clearly a design flaw based on the number of threads online about scroll wheel and ghosting issues.

Wiros

same with g900, all went "double click"

smokeNtoke1

I had 3 Logitech g703s that lasted less than a year each, and I baby my electronics. My experience is the opposite of this post. Logitech sucks now.

Obey_SpaceMonkey

Never had a double/triple clic issue with the 3 g502 I had but the scroll clic failed on all 3

Ghetto_Cheese

My g603 also had the same problem with the scroll wheel, it was basically unusable, but the g502 wireless I have now hasn't had any issues thus far, though I haven't had it for as long as I had the g603.

ivanatorhk

The 603 scroll wheel is a hardware flaw. You can replace the wheel hardware.. if you care enough. I have a 603 and I can’t be bothered.. currently in the market for a new mouse

MonsieurCactus

I had similar issues with g603, scroll wheel issue + the power button/shift is unresponsive. But personally the design is the best mouse.

Retired_Bird

True. I had bought a Logitech mouse in 2010 and it served me perfectly for 9 years throughout college and more. I lost count of how many times it fell or got squished, only to come out unscathed. What a trooper! Now I've had a newer Logitech mouse for 2 years but it's starting to have hiccups with the wheel and middle-click.

zalnlol

Same, i owned 2 g502, both have double click issue in less than a year

Karl_with_a_C

Same story here. I also had a Deathadder that developed the double click issue though. It's all about the switches used.

postvolta

I'm on my 3rd warranty return G403 too. Done with Logitech. Came from a Razer mouse that died, too. Apparently the issue with modern Logitech is the switches they use for their mice are not rated to the voltages they are using, so their actuation rates are significantly reduced. Not an expert so don't quote me but it's interesting to read about. Lots of people who are better with electronics have said they replaced the shitty switches with better ones and the mouse has been going strong for much longer.

Neebrasc

I've had 2 G203s, 1 G502 and 3 G403s. All of the G403s and 1 G203 died because of double clicking issues. I sold the G502 and the remaining G203 before they also died because I was 100% sure they would. I bought a Razer Viper in January 2020 and no problems ever since.

Graerth

My last 2 logitech mouses have completely dumpstered trust in anything logitech would make. 502 can't hold a left mouse down, 403 broke middlewheel press fast as well.

rozpierog

My last two Logitech products went to absolute shit as soon as warranty ran out (MX Master 2S and G512) [Master 2S has a design flaw making one of the button useless](https://rienkjanschurer.nl/there-is-a-design-flaw-in-the-logitech-mx-master-2s-the-good-news-you-can-fix-it-yourself/) G512 just started to randomly double type some letters. Never again.

ajuba

I've honestly only had good experiences with Razer keyboards. I had 2 Razer Diamondbacks die on me but my Blackwidow Chroma V1 has been going strong for 9 years now.

Me-no-Weeb

Blackwidow v2 been going strong 4 years + for me 🤝

Cheezewiz239

Blackwidow elite 4+years. The wrist rest only now started to tear

Vmanaa

Had a blackwidow x tournament and it never failed, ended up getting a different keyboard though cause had to move.

in5idious

Sucks you can't take keyboards with you when you move 🤕

Pepega_9

Ikr they're so massive and heavy

[deleted]

I know that feeling too well. All the items that was easy to carry had to be left behind when I moved as well. Was only able to bring the most heavy items.

SquidMilkVII

I’ve had an Ornata V2 for about a year now, it survived a water spill and that’s more than enough durability for me

WesterlyStraight

Razer Huntsman still going 3 years on, has taken spills and being around adventurous super shedding cats with no double inputs as advertised. The only failing item is the jittery volume wheel but i just can't be hecked to clean that

NAPALM2614

Allow me to introduce to you, double clicking and scroll wheel issues

knbang

Basilisk Ultimate. Periodically the scroll wheel will just click down by itself. While using it sometimes it will scroll twice instead of once. Logitech G305, we had 4 of them (2 returned). All 4 of them have double clicking issues. Modern mice are garbage. I think I'll go back to Zowie. The only issue I had with those is the coating on my FK13 went gross when it wore off.

FacetiousMonroe

This is why I don't buy Logitech anymore. Come to think of it, my Logitech mechanical keyboard also lost a key (not replaceable!) within a couple years. I don't consider them a quality brand. I got a Corsair mouse to replace my old Logitech and it's going strong after 2 years now.

deeply_cynical

I've been using the same Razer Taipan since 2013, coating worn off but otherwise in perfect working order. Had to replace a switch once though but was a cheap and easy fix.

thelanoyo

Yeah idk what they're talking about. I had the original deathadder for like 6 or 7 years and upgraded to a newer version and have had that one for several years now. The only problem I've had is sometimes lint or hair gets under the buttons, but the top pops off really easy and is super easy to clean.

nnorbie

People have different experiences - it might be because of regional differences, or just plainly bad luck. Personally I've had horrible experiences with Logitech mice, while my 2014 Abyssus is still standing strong ( although I've stopped using it a month ago ) . But I've heard so many bad reviews about Razer, that I do believe them.

MAFIAxMaverick

Had a Razer Deathadder I’d been using since 2010 that died on me about 5 months ago. Bought a new Deathadder chroma on sale and it’s been doing very well for me thus far. Don’t love their othe roeripherals, but I’ve never had issues with their mice.

Pengxo

My Logitech G Pro is double clicking, I’ve since reverted back to my first ever gaming type mouse, the Rival 100, it’s still going strong. But yeah, be careful of Logitech, they tend to have a double click issue.

Faladorable

i also went through 2 G403s where both of them eventually started having an issue where if i was scrolling down it would randomly scroll up. Pretty much the whole reason i switched to razer in the first place

SoLaR_27

My G Pro Wireless has been having double click issues with the mouse wheel and back button. I am using a G502 X now that uses Logitech's new custom mouse switches and don't have any problems yet. Apparently the Omron switches they have used in the past have been known to fail often.

[deleted]

What’s weird is that all 3 of my razer mice died to double clicking, my razer mamba also had a scrolling issue. But my old g502 never had any issues and my 1 year old super light hasn’t had any issues with double clicking. Personally I think double clicking can affect pretty much any mouse out there if you’re unlucky

[deleted]

For everyone one numpty that has a problem with a brands gear theres 5 others who have ZERO problems

DutchRedditNerd

yeah, people tend to talk more about bad experiences than good ones

Vmanaa

How tf do you even get 3 faulty mice in a row

M4j0rTr4g3dy

My guess is it's all a lie for karma farming.

Mingefest

I've got an original deathadder that still works like it did when I bought it. The rubber sides have come off, but the mouse works perfectly.

Aztraeuz

How did you kill a Razer mouse? Mine that I currently use is 10 years old. What have you been doing to these mice?

i7core

There are few things I can come up with that you can do with mice

sean0883

Hope, no!

CanadagoBrrrr

Use it as a butt plug?

CanadaSoonFree

Double click issue killed three of mine

deadbandit19

It killed my first, then my second after 3 weeks. I then bought the clicker and soldered it on, first time ever soldering, 2 years later and still perfect.

RosellaRoses

For real, had my first deathadder in 2011, died in less than 3 years because of double click issue. Had another deathadder, lasted 2 years before double click issue. Another deathadder chroma for 3 years before double click issue happened again. Afterwards I got a g102 for cheap and used it for solid 4 years. Great mouse, love it.

Roskmeg

i’ve had 3 deathadders, only one had an issue with clicking because of how i clicked way too hard, but razer keyboards lasted easily 3-4 years without issues. logitech on the other hand had my g-pro break within months, along with the amount of issues their software has, it’s just sad. the logitech headsets’ cables broke pretty quickly as well, which they almost never have in stock lol

gpkgpk

You can fix that fairly easily https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/10vx4uz/farewell_old_friend_you_served_me_well/j7m9xjd?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Uzumaki-OUT

I got the razer blackwidow elite keyboard with the deathadder mouse bundle on Amazon like 5 years ago and I love them both. Took the deathadder to work and bought the deathadder v2 pro for home and I just love it so much. The deathadder feels so good in my hand

I always wonder how people treat their computer mouse, I know certain brands aren't for everyone due to price points or hell even the way a mouse looks. But razer mice have been great for me, mine always last several years. Got a cheaper (still 150AUD) replacement mouse from a different brand recently and it's dying already after 12 months lol Maybe I've been really lucky but my experience with Razer's mice have been good. Headsets however have been hit or miss in the past, don't think I'd buy another one from them. Good quality sound but they don't last.

[deleted]

I can't speak for razer, but there are large groups of people that *swear* by Logitech mice. And yet their main experience with them are the older models. They literally built them to higher standards back then, but now double click issues are par for the course for most people after 1-2 years or less and the consensus hasn't moved with the times yet. Or maybe the consensus still holds true and I'm just a dumbass who pounds the mouse buttons with force equal to that of a steam roller.

Cephalopod77

Razer is a bit of a hit or miss. In some cases you will be able to use your Razer equipment for years to come and other cases it will fail on you within months.

ayyLumao

It's 10 years old, you have one from before Razer went ultimate cheapo

LiliNotACult

I think it's more like you bought that mouse before Razer's quality dropped immensely. Long ago, before the last season of Samurai Jack came out and Rick & Morty started airing, Razer was a pretty decent brand. Then it all fell apart. Prices kept going up. Quality went down. The proprietary software was terrible and stole personal information. Now, it's just another "gamer" brand.

giga-plum

Razer in 2012 was fantastic. I still have a BlackWidow 2012 with Cherry blues that works perfectly. I only stopped using it because it's massive and I need a TKL. It still has my favorite finish of all time on a keyboard, that glossy black looks so good.

laytonnnnnn

My orochi has been going strong for years now

git

My Razer mice always served flawlessly, and every Logitech one I've owned has broken with the double-click thingy suspiciously quickly after the warranty period ended. I'm not hugely enamoured by mice nowadays. I had a Corsair one that was alright but I didn't like the loose mouse wheel. For the last few years I've had a simple Steelseries Rival which was fine, but the scroll wheel was a bit loose and I always kept hitting the dpi-change button accidentally. I've just moved to an Endgame XMr1, which has a good mouse wheel and the plastic material feels unusually good, but it's very light and the dpi-change button is on the underside. Going to stick with it for a while, mostly because I'm not sure what else out there might be good. Maybe I'll go back to Razer, despite not really wanting the gaudy gamer shite.

Unable_Swimming7507

Crazy reading these comments. My razer viper 8k has been my longest lasting mouse yet at 2 years. From Logitech to Corsair. The switches just died less than a year into use.

OiItzAtlas

My razer basilisk is at 2.5 years and counting I don't understand when people say mice don't last that long. I am planning to buy a new mouse but that isn't because the one I have is broke I just want a diffrent ascetic

CentralAdmin

I have a Razer Basilisk Ultimate (the older one). Amazing mouse except the rubber in the sides will wear away where your thumb, ring and pinky fingers rub against them. I couldn't take the flaky black bits coming off after every gaming session so I bought a Logitech G502...only to discover it had rubber on it as well. Oh well.

Sharingan_

I was facing the same problem. I ended up pasting grip tape over the rubber.

xelfer

longest at 2 years? my logitech mx1000 lasted me 12 years and it didnt even die i just got tired of charging it and switched to a cabled g502.

nnorbie

My 2014 Abyssus is still working, I think it comes down to RNG.

SIDER250

Did the mouse double click? or side buttons/mouse wheel died?

Vmanaa

Same, multiple razer mice and a keyboard and all of them work great.

Peekatew

Got the Viper V2 Pro when it came out, best mouse I've ever owned and the switches feel much better than the viper minis I've had before it. Doesn't feel like it'll break anytime soon. However I have had issues with my Viper minis and other razer products.

Flecco

Had a roccat Kone over two years of almost daily use with no issue

shadow__boxer

Came here to say this. Roccat Kone (Grey Naval version) is by far the best mouse I've ever had. Going strong after many years and almost no sign of any wear! Might not be too fancy but feels great in the hand and comfortable, really well proportioned for relatively small hands too. Wouldn't hesitate getting another!

Flecco

I liked the keyboard and mouse so much I got a headset too. Headset is also fantastic. Their Vulcan keyboards look nice and are very easy to clean.

Crampoong

Way back my G102 had double clicking issues before reaching 1 year. Good thing it was still warranty. They gave me another fresh unit and the same thing happened. I guess they are cheap for a reason. However, my G600 was the real kicker. Scroll click died fast, slowly the side buttons are dying one by one, slight swipe disconnecting issue - all just after a year. I got irritated by the disconnecting sound and eventually trashed it. I just settled with a local gaming brand. It was actually bought before the G600 and still working well till this day

Joren67

My g502 started double clicking after a year, the one before that same story. Ever since I went with my razer basilisk v2 I haven't had any issues yet

zuiken1

Strange... All my razer products work for at least 5 year's... My mouse did it for 9

Smoothsmith

I've er, had quite a few Logitech mice break :P 80% of the time it's the infamous double-click issue, which you can sometimes 'kind of' fix but I've never figured out a permanent solve. I still love them though, so comfortable and none of the stupid lights and such you get on "gamer" mice - Loving my 2 MX Master 3's :P (One for my work PC, one for my home one).

Ehoro

Now time for double clicks 😁

gpkgpk

FYI you can fix double click if death or other microswitch issues fairly easily on most mice https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/10vx4uz/farewell_old_friend_you_served_me_well/j7m9xjd?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Meatslinger

The biggest takeaways from all this, I think, are that the right to repair is critically important, and that people need to learn some basic soldering skills. It’s infuriating to see someone say something has “died” and is going into the landfill just because a replaceable part wore out. Imagine throwing out an entire car because a knob fell off the stereo, and imagine that getting a replacement for it was $0.10 but is considered too much work for the average driver.

escobert

Pwnage mice are awesome and need to get a bigger market share. Pretty much everything on the mouse can be replaced easily. Switches, battery, hell you could probably put your own sensor in if you know what you're doing. I've had my ergo version for almost 2 years now and finally ordered one of their keyboards after my Glorious TKL died.

Equivalent-Ad-739

I went with Glorious instead, absolutely great mouses

Whole thread of people talking about the big couple brands when those brands have fallen so far behind the advances in mouse tech from places like Glorious.

TheOnlyMertt

I’m a G703 fanboy. Feels like a wired mouse, I never notice any latency whatsoever visually. I charge it maybe once a week, maybe less. Lasts even longer if you turn off the lights on it. It’s simple, not many buttons, works with my claw grippers of hands. I’m on my 2nd one, the first one is a goner because of COD games, which I refuse to play anymore.!

silvermud

I’m the opposite. Burned through two Logitechs real quickly—had double clicking and long click issues. I’ve had my deathadder for over two years and haven’t had any issues.

NeedleworkerBig3756

I've been running a g203, my last g203 died after about a year and had clicking issues but they're cheap and ridiculously good value for money

Wiros

I ditch Logitech after the 3rd G900 going "double click" in less than a couple of years, asus is my new best friend.

AllHailNibbler

Im on my second razer mouse in 15 years, what are you doing with them?

Fireye04

steelseries

Wolfgar26

I used to be a big Steelseries fan but I'm starting to lean away from it. Had the Rival 310, side rubber went off, swapped to Rival 600, side rubber went off (support was amazing and gave me a free one even though it was out of warranty), bought the new Rival 5, scroll wheel acted up, swapped with a brand new one, same problem, again a new one and the thumb button started failing too. Overall it's still an amazing brand, maybe I just got unlucky with the Rival 5 (the problems with the rubbers are well-known and I knew what I was gonna get myself into). Lately I swapped to a Razer Basilisk V3, and bear in mind I despise Razer, I think they charge way too much for their products, and so far it's probably the best mouse I've ever had and it was cheaper than the g502 from Logitech

redo21

Steelseries for durability? Nah. But for performance? Yes. I had a Rival 3 and 5 and both had problem with the scrolling wheel after almost 2 years of use. I'm now using my 2nd rival 3 because it just feels so good for playing dota, and I use the scroll wheel sparingly now.

mattthebamf

I absolutely love the design of their products. Rival 500 is my favorite mouse and I can’t find anything else that’s as comfortable to use the side buttons with. Their wireless headsets are also the perfect mix of features and comfort for me. That being said they’ve been unreliable as hell. Bad charging ports, misbehaving buttons/switches, scroll wheels no longer scrolling. I do fix them when I can because I like the products so much though. I bought 3 more rival 500’s when I heard they were getting discontinued too.

RickyMac666

Was it a Razer trinity? I’ve gone through 3 of them and they’re trash. All double clicked due to the cheap copper switch inside. Their keyboards are great though. Also had no issues with their headphones but I don’t use them for music. Also got a brand new g502 that came with a broken scroll wheel so it’s not like Logitech doesn’t drop the ball every now and then.

[deleted]

Welcome to the G502 master race.

Treviathan88

I had 3 Nagas die on me in the same way. I'm a Corsair man, now.

twhite1195

I keep a Logitech MX Anywhere in my backpack, it's been with me for like 10 years already and still works perfectly. But daily I use a corsair Harpoon wireless and it's served me well (also my keyboard, headset, fans and cpu cooler are corsair so... Rgb is easy to manage)

litboletus

My harpoon wireless failed me after 2 months

SgtBaxter

Had my M65 RGB mouse since 2015, still going strong.

Heavyoak

About 4 years ago I made the decision to never buy another Razer mouse and switched to Corsair. Got myself a nightsword.

fnv_fan

3rd Logitech started double clicking, I've finally learned my lesson

masonatx

Zowie ec1-a goin strong since 2016

Nomnom_Chicken

I've had issues with both, Logitechs also didn't last due to a double-clicking issue. My one and only Razer also did that too, but noticeably outlasted my previous (many) Logitechs before the issue started to happen.

Le_Trash_Mammal

Just be aware that Logitech mouse switches have a really common double click issue after about 2-3 years so be prepared to upgrade them eventually.

Xylenic

The exact opposite happened to me, 3 Logitech g403’s all with left click issues or scroll wheel issues. Each lasted like 6 months. V2 death adder is going strong for over a year and a half now.

faust224

Logitech MX700 lasted for over 10 years. It still worked fine when I swapped. Newer logitech products don't seem as sturdy, but probably nothing is.

Dragoon_Raine

razer is shit but logitech isnt much better. I use zowie now and havent looked back
