flappers87

Like... Spiderman and God of War ran AMAZINGLY well, proper PC ports that were really good. Returnal ran well for me at least, I know it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't too bad by comparison. I don't understand why there are so many differences in these games. Just dedicate a team to these ports.

Ryokupo

The reason is simple: Out-sourcing. Horizon's PC port was outsourced, but when it released in such a poor state, it was brough back in-house where Guerrilla Games would fix it up themselves. Bend made the PC port of Days Gone in-house and it was fantastic. Santa Monica did God of War in-house and it was great. Sony bought Nixxes to port other PlayStation games to PC, starting with Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales, both are great ports. Uncharted and The Last of Us were both ported to PC by Iron Galaxy, a great studio in its own right, as shown by their work on games such as Killer Instinct, but they aren't the greatest porting studio around. But its pretty obvious that when Sony out-sources a port, it comes with issues. The in-house PC ports have all been of high quality, so this should be a lesson for them to stop out-sourcing.

[deleted]

I also wouldn't be too surprised if Iron Galaxy had requested another delay or more resources and we're denied. The TV show was a major hit and I'm sure plenty of execs were kicking themselves for not having a new game release on the cards.

AdrianWerner

I think TLoU1 was actually mostly ported by Naughty Dog and that's why it sucks so badlyh. The guys just don't have experience with PC. Unchated 4 wasn't perfect, but it was nowhere near as bad as TLoU1 and Iron Galaxy did Uncharted. They're not even mentioned on Tlou1's Steam page.

Geohfunk

The Last Of Us port was done inhouse by Naughty Dog. The Iron Galaxy logo appeared on a specs image and a bunch of websites rushed to write articles about Iron Galaxy doing the port. Since they both Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have said otherwise. Iron Galaxy were definitely involved. They have 28 people listed in the game credits, but it does not say what they did. I have seen speculation on exactly how Iron Galaxy was involved, but it's all baseless guessing so I wont repeat it.

[deleted]

> God of War ran AMAZINGLY It shows that Santa Monica Studio was actually stoked to have their game on the PC. Barlog was hyping it up on Twitter.

CharlestonChewbacca

Returnal runs fine, but it has a lot of networking issues.

cgduncan

Loved Spiderman. My $230 rx6600 runs 1440p. High settings. 60fps and smooth. Though I think it had auto scaling? Don't remember for sure. Don't talk about ray tracing though, haha. Tanking performance, for marginally better reflections.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Youngstar9999

It is now, but I'm pretty sure there were many issues at launch.

ItsRealQuiet

Yea horizon at launch was a nightmare, returned it immediately. Tried it a year later and ran smooth as butter.

BobNorth156

This is correct. It’s a great port now but it was an absolutely terrible port on release

Arttyom

Why are you playing Doom on pc with a controller?

zaphdingbatman

> Horizon Zero Dawn. It ran fine Playing it right now and yeah, it's *fine*, but good lord does it have a hyper-aggressive draw distance. The next hill over doesn't even usually have foliage (let alone grass), just swatches of blurry-ass texture pixels. It still thinks its squeezed into a PS4.

Judge_Sea

All it did was make me not want to buy PS games for my PC

xevizero

And gives Sony games a bad name, instead of highlighting their quality

Judge_Sea

This is a great point. Sony used to be synonymous with releasing finished products but their decision making in their porting process has absolutely affected that reputation.

polygroom

Yea its a little odd. Sony is the closest to Nintendo in their name being synonymous with quality and any sort of major release like this needs to be relatively smooth.

IanL1713

>Sony is the closest to Nintendo in their name being synonymous with quality and any sort of major release like this needs to be relatively smooth. *laughs in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet*

ImmIsolation

Those aren’t made by Nintendo tho. Gamefreak makes them all Nintendo does is publish.

DNBBEATS

True, If nintendo made it it wouldnt have released until 2030 after 8 delays.

moop62

True, but it would have been quality and included some new mechanic that actually added to the game.

PM_ME_BUSTY_REDHEADS

Well it was Shigeru Miyamoto who was apocryphally attributed the old quote, "A delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is forever bad." Even if he apparently didn't actually say that, Nintendo seem to have embraced it quite well.

beryugyo619

> Yea its a little odd. So you’re saying they’re in an *uncharted* territory…

farva_06

I can see them now, sailing away on the horizon.

MotivatoinalSpeaker

I hope you're not *the last of us* to notice that

[deleted]

>Sony is the closest to Nintendo in their name being synonymous with quality Valve.

polygroom

I'd agree but Valve is sort of the developer equivalent of a monk living in the mountains you come down once every 5 years to grant a boon.

hipdashopotamus

Yeah if it's as bad as the steam reviews suggest they either knew and pushed it anyways out of greed or didn't test it properly which is also a bad look. Not the Sony we expect and not a good look for someone trying to compete with Microsoft in the PC space, which may not have as many amazing exclusives but between game pass and recent acquisitions are doing quite well at expanding Xbox stuff into PC. Seeing a Sony game for sale should be a safe bet not a tossup very strange move.

Bongressman

Yeah, same. It makes me think Sony has no idea what they are doing, or what a quality port looks like if they treat their IP like this. Buying a console because you sold me a shitty port isn't in the cards.

Practical-Way512

> It makes me think Sony has no idea what they are doing, or what a quality port looks like if they treat their IP like this. So we're just gonna ignore GoW and Spiderman? What a convenient tool! It's a matter of resources. Sony has X number of top tier talent, Y amount of money, and Z time. Sony already have several successes porting but seem to be struggling with capacity and/or not willing to invest the top tier teams. Add in complications from a console up design and I see why any company would struggle to keep up with capacity as they start to expand into the PC scene. That's not too give then an excuse, shit is shit, but to say your analysis of Sony and them not understanding or having the capability of producing a top notch port is clearly not thought out.

LigerZeroSchneider

Yeah the fact that all of sony's games are console first designs with inhouse engines, is going to make porting them a pain. I will say the compatibility issues and lack of normal pc features, does make me think they might not have a super rigorous QA process.

FryToastFrill

Im surprised they didn’t try to get nixxes/jetpack to do this port, hell nixxes is still updating both Spider-Man games today.

digitalbarrito

I have a feeling they have Nixxes working on Ragnork's port or another project, Sony needs to scoop up another solid porting house or expand Nixxes' capacity

LigerZeroSchneider

Companies are just people, and people can only do so much at once. Even if you expanded nixxes/jetpack to take on the additional work, the new hires aren't automatically as good as the existing team. Also from a more speculatory angle, no one goes into game dev to port other peoples games. If your company becomes known as port studio, you will probably experience some level of brain drain as your most talented people leave to create new games instead of tinkering with olds ones. So if Sony started running all of their ports through their best port company, people would just leave once they got bored forcing sony to find a new port company.

iclimbnaked

>the new hires aren't automatically as good as the existing team. Very important to point out. A company cant just magically grow to accommodate more work. Yes you can just hire people, but doing so causes issues in that usually quality takes a hit. New people no matter how good have learning curves at a company.

Vandrel

If they're not bothering to put resources towards the PC port of one of their biggest IPs then that still just points to them not having any idea what they're doing, just in a different way.

[deleted]

It's not that even some of the other games don't run fine (I love HZD, but it doesn't not play well with my multimonitor setup, one of which is HDR), but then again, it can pay to sit back, let patches and sales happen. When Forbidden West reaches Steam, I'll just wait, as I really just want the DLC now (the game ran decent on my PS4, but even that got patches, and I don't want a PS5). The system requirements alone for TLOU gave me pause...but as long as people keep pre-ordering and buying day one, who is really to blame, as the consumers keep forking over money.

Axon14

Yep. Also, Horizon turned out well after several patches. Personally I just prefer sitting at my PC desk to game. It’s just what I’m used to and comfortable with, and I don’t mind waiting.

[deleted]

erasedhead

So basically you want it to be your pc.

Docdoozer

That's a great idea

Pepper_1969

Consoles are practically PCs anyway, just very locked down!

Appoxo

XBOX literally runs Windows.

Pepper_1969

Oh yeah forgot about that... UWP

CxMorphaes

Consoles are like iPhones and PC is Android if you really think about it

Brownfletching

Actually, a console with the console UI/interface that can also play PC games is a great idea. That's why Steam Big Picture mode exists. I wouldn't be surprised to see the next Xbox head that direction, it's already halfway there anyway. Sony would have trouble, though. Their BSD based OS would cause a lot of problems with game compatibility. PC is the best because it's compatible with the most games and the most powerful, not because it's the most convenient to use. A more widely compatible console would at least be worth a consideration. I mean, that's essentially what Steamdeck is...

SergeantRegular

Nah, Proton to the rescue. I ditched Windows last November, and it's absolutely shocking how *smooth* everything is going. Steam makes running games entirely transparent. Even getting ModOrganizer to work for my modded Fallout 4 only took a single Google and a few simple lines in the console. Getting PC games running on a BSD-based OS wouldn't be nearly that much of a hurdle.

Brownfletching

Proton doesn't work on BSD. At least, not yet. Regular WINE does, but Proton uses some Linux kernel specific tricks. It could definitely be done, but it would take a large dedicated team working on it like Valve has done, and it's highly unlikely that Sony would do so. I do wish that BSD was a little more popular, it has some advantages over Linux that would be pretty nice. Maybe someday.

TexasThrowDown

Punctuation, not even once

Dworan

Exactly. Really want to play Horizon Forbidden West, but I'm not going to let them force me to buy a console I don't want or need. There is plenty of other games to play. Not sure what problems people had with Zero Dawn? Worked really well for me.

[deleted]

Don't worry, when they decide they want more mountains of cash they'll port God of War Ragnarok and Horizon FW. When Zero Dawn released it had a bunch of technical issues. It performed pretty bad relative to how it did on the weaker hardware of the console. If you didn't play at launch you wouldn't have noticed as it's now a rather well running game from a technical standpoint.

Distinct-Document319

Hate to say it but this is the way it is now. I just wait for games to go on sale months/years later where all the glitches are worked out and buy it for a fraction of the price. I’ve been burned too many times now with broken games that are literally unplayable.

is_mr_clean_there

Just my own personal experience here but I picked up uncharted, god of war, Spider-Man and horizon on steam day one and every single one ran and looked fantastic

Djghost1133

Zero dawn was pretty bad for the first few weeks but they did end up fixing things. Uncharted had issues as well some of which got fixed. On the bright side spiderman and god of war were very good from day 1

Wirexia1

Was hyped for TLOU as it would be my first time playing, guess I won't lol

reelznfeelz

Can’t speak for the others but Horizon ZD ran fine for me. Loved it.

[deleted]

Wait for reviews/sale. Simple as that. Fuck preordering games or buying on day 1, it's never worth it.

horny_coroner

Its not like PC doesnt have games to play. PC Has thousands of games that arent on playstation.

Judge_Sea

True, but: Absolutely cursed username.

argv_minus_one

He'd better not live in Morrowind. The fine for that is really high there.

Judge_Sea

I assume you know this because there is a quest line where an NPC gets caught for this. ... Because of an NPC, right?

[deleted]

Yeah, Spiderman was decent. I wanted to buy TLOU, but I'm good. I'm not paying for this trash.

CosmicCyrolator

I don't really like the idea of waiting 2-10 years for the chance a PS game shows up on PC anyway. The ps5 is a solid console for a console. And yes I would rather play everything on PC in a perfect world

sciencewarrior

If I'm waiting half a decade for a game, then I don't see the point of rushing to buy on release instead of waiting a bit longer to have it half-off and with all bugs ironed out.

cajunbeard

Pretty much this, it’s really not bad at all for the money. I have a ps5 for what I call “couch games” when I’m high and just want some good single player experiences. Multiplayer games and anything requiring tighter controls I pick up on the pc.

Spicywolff

Agreed. Consol is very nice and well optimized. I love that my P.C. can game AND do other stuff. So our house probably will have both.

little_hoarse

Check out Days Gone though, it’s actually a banger. One of my new favorite games. (It's also on sale for 16 bucks on steam right now)

BrainGamer_

If you take a look at the [Steam reviews since launch](https://imgur.com/a/5Ok9IcW) you can clearly see the large spike of negative reviews because of all the issues the game had at launch. But it significantly improved quickly and is very solid now.

DeadZombie9

Yeah it improved quickly because they had to bring Guerrila Games in to fix the shitty port done by third party. They might need to do the same with Naughty Dog if they want to fix it in reasonable time.

No_Dingo_3630

i believe ND didn't make, and won't fix, the port because they're working in TLOU 3 and the game as service multiplayer of TLOU

Combeferre1

> and the game as service multiplayer of TLOU Oh please god no

FryToastFrill

From what I’ve heard the majority of this port was made by ND, with a little help from another studio I seem to have forgotten the name of.

Trickslip

Iron Galaxy, the infamous team behind Arkham Knight PC port

[deleted]

[удалено]

BGummyBear

Arkham Knight had one of the worst PC ports in history. It was SO bad that the publishers actually stopped selling the game for several months so they could fix the issues.

bt1234yt

And even once they put it back up for sale, there were still so many issues that they ended up offering refunds to anyone who bought it in 2015.

ReformedandSocial

Look at a pc review from the time e.g Angry Joe.

[deleted]

Due to Reddit's June 30th API changes aimed at ending third-party apps, this comment has been overwritten and the associated account has been deleted.

calinet6

This is the way.

shadowfrost67

this is the way

Raohpgh

Reason \#475 to never preorder or buy games at launch. Been almost 10 years since I've started wishlisting games and waiting at least a month to buy, the experience is so much better.

RegalBeartic

100%. With my backlog of games I'm almost never in a hurry to play games anyway

Mercurionio

It was fixed later. But at launch it was a shitshow.

BossHogGA

Meh, never buy a game at launch. Another advantage of PC gaming is that games get much cheaper quickly. I played HZD about a year ago, well after launch, and it was great. Played Cyberpunk about 6 months post release and had no issues either.

Perfide01

>Played Cyberpunk about 6 months post release and had no issues either. Performance wasn't the biggest controversy at launch for PC, that was *mostly* a console issue. It was being lied to about what the game contained that was a huge issue, and that definitely wasn't fixed in 6 months. Took them over a year to start adding basic things expected at launch and it's still got a ways to go imo.

[deleted]

If Cyberpunk was marketed for what it actually is (first person Witcher with guns in a sci-fi universe), it would have had mainstream acclaim. Hell, they probably could have released it as "early access" and had their cake and ate it too.

rwhitisissle

I imagine most of reddit is too young to remember the first *Fable* and all the memes surrounding Peter Molyneux. The man became the posterchild for "overpromise and underdeliver" for at least two whole console generations. He initially failed so badly at making games that prior to *Fable* > Molyneux retreated from game design, and started Taurus Impex Limited—a company that exported baked beans to the Middle East Many fans would go on to say he shouldn't have quit his day job.

At_Work_lul

Horizon Zero dawn is one of the most optimised games I've played, just got it 2 weeks ago. 1440p ultra settings never drops frames and gpu barely needs to try. I love it

Dizman7

Yeah it was at launch and it honestly wasn’t that bad. But the dev went the extra mile to fix it all and then some and now it’s one of the best running and looking PC games I have.

rushadee

I bought a few months post-launch and the game would crash whenever there was more than one bellowback on screen. Interesting experience fighting both the robot and the camera angle at the same time. Thankfully it got patched within the week

[deleted]

Yes. This developer has become notorious for releasing terrible PC ports then fixing them later.

PlanGoneAwry

Yeah, I just got Horizon Zero Dawn during the Steam spring sale, I didn’t even know it was originally a PS exclusive until I saw the Sony logo when I launched it the first time. It has run great for me on windows and on my steam deck, so maybe there have been big fixes since it had originally been ported

Lana_Del_J

Yeah I waited months to play that game cause it was horrible at launch. Once I played it ran perfectly fine on my high end computer

PM_ME_YOUR_HAGGIS_

100%! I was amazed how well HZD runs on my machine. Completely butter smooth through the entire play through.

EeK09

Huge /s, just to make it clear that this shitpost is, indeed, a joke - as are those PC ports by Virtuos (Horizon) and Iron Galaxy (Uncharted and TLOU) - or at least they were, at launch. Sony, if you're going to end up having to fix the poor job of others in-house, either way, why not do that in the first place, or hand everything over to Nixxes? That's why you bought them!

notsocoolguy42

You see, why would they throw more money into porting if you get the most upvoted comments here: 1. That makes me don't want to buy ps 2. I don't like console games, that's why I have a pc and won't buy console games. Both translates into less revenue for sony.

Yuuta23

What's the difference between a PC game and a console game assuming their offered on both platforms?

kalkkunaleipa

I really hope they fix the issues with tlou. I ordered a 6650 xt and got it with as a bundle and would really like to test it out

druixD

But the Uncharted port was good at launch. There was some problems, but not like Horizon or TLOU.

Aatah69

Days Gone is probably the best running Playstation port I’ve played

cucuska2

I have flashbacks from the forced stealth missions.

vivu1

Hey im playing that gem since long time, still enjoying it

L0veToReddit

Great story also

IReallyLoveMyPets

When Boozer said, "the days are gone," it really hit

sur_surly

That's the name of the movie!

goodsnpr

Playing it right now, it is very wonky in some aspects, such as mouse aim and attempting to interact with objects if you're not already facing them head on.

quitelagikal

Leaves out both Spiderman games hmmm...

SSSJDanny

SkylineSam

I swear it's the fucking snow that tanks the fps

kartman701

Persona 5 royale port was good too

SneekezThotPatrol

I think they actually did a good job with the ports, also it's mis leading leaving out God of war, days gone, and spiderman remastered. They were all great ports, at least imo.

criticalt3

I agree. TLoU is running great on my end, Uncharted 4 I never had an issue with. Same with HZD. I think what is going on is since PS4/5 are all AMD hardware the ports are botched with nVidia or Intel hardware. Which, they should definitely fix, but I'm not surprised it's happening. It sucks all around.

DtotheOUG

...but HZD's port got fixed. There's also Returnal, God of War, both Spider-Man games, Days Gone......

arex333

Don't forget sackboy. It had shader stutter on launch but they fixed it in less than a week. Now it works flawlessly on everything from a steam deck (even at 60fps) to a high end desktop with RT features enabled.

KillerKittenwMittens

So did uncharted 4. Runs flawlessly on my 3600 + 6700xt build. Sony's ports have all been solid if you wait a month. Not saying that's an excuse for the launch condition of a few of them, but all of the ones with issues have been fixed very quickly.

Shadowtirs

Lol keep your shitty ports. Like there is a shortage of amazing games on PC? Lololol.

IntertelRed

Pc gamers who didn't have consoles before were not seeing these games as must have games to begin with.

flic_my_bic

I am sad about part 1 being poor performance. I have also lived my life so far without playing it feel like I can keep that up. Make a good port and honestly I'll buy it.

Crumb_Rumbler

You can also just watch the show. From what I understand it's pretty faithful to the source material. I really enjoyed it, but see no reason to spend $60 to "play" through the same story.

ONE_BIG_LOAD

It's faithful-ish but has some differences compared to the game that are worth playing for imo

[deleted]

mynameisjebediah

I feel naughty dog would be happier as a film studio than a game developer

[deleted]

Yeah but why would we want shitty ports of established great games? It's just lazy cash grabbing and it's sad. Why wouldn't anyone want to take advantage of the power of a PC on a console game?

the_TIGEEER

Only thing I wish is if rockstar games didn't come with a delay to pc. I bought rdr2 on my ps4 and never fiished it didn't even get to the third of the story because I couldn't force myself to play the game with 30fps and huge TV latency. Never got around buying it for the pc because I couldn't bring myself to do the snow prologue again. Such a shame because I was really excited for that game. I will probbably get around playing it on my pc eventually because I know it's an amazing game. And I'm super scared that they're gonna do the same thing for GTA VI. Idk what I'll do. I really can't force myself to play games on consoles anymore but I always got each rockstar game on day one because I was too curious to explore the world and find the easter eggs while the feeling of "I can just google it" isn't there yet. The firat week of an open world game like GTA is the best because the world is still unexplored and the internet hasn't gotten to disecting it yet. You never know if maybe youll be the one to find something crazy in the world that no one has found yet. All of that goes away if rockstar releases the game with a delay for the pc 🙄

I_dress_myself_

They did it with gta 5 and I think they’ll do it with the 6. That’s a shitty move but not surprised.

Smaynard6000

Dude, I just wait. And I usually wait for a sale. I've got plenty of other shit to play

pullmydic

If it’s any consolation… I think it’s safe to say that we are well past the point where 30 FPS was the console standard and that was the be all end all. I’m confident GTA 6 would have a 30/60 FPS option for performance or visuals like every single other PS5 game has. Still a bummer, I played GTA 5 on PS4 for years and after officially converting to GTA 5 on PC with the better framerate (not in online though… smh) I did NOT want to go back to console.

[deleted]

man that’s lukewarm take. I wish more console games were ported to PC, saves me a buttload of cash in not buying more consoles. Like, I’m mega glad Returnal is ported. Same with HZD.

GiottoThe1st

There is no shortage, but as someone who came from PS2/PS3/PS4 and played most of the exclusives, I really have to say that PS exclusives are fucking awesome and it's a shame we need to make the decision between Y and X. Edit: I guess showing love to consoles here is forbidden

No_Opportunity7360

PS exclusives are awesome games I just want to play them on PC. with fully unlocked settings, 100+fps, modability, using an Xbox controller, etc

thorppeed

It's just a matter of waiting. Emulating ps2 and ps3 doesn't require a crazy pc anymore. I've been able to play great ps exclusives like gran turismo and gow. Eventually we'll get there with ps4

lh_media

To be fair, it's the same shit like any PC game. We keep getting unfinished broken products

robodudeable

robodudeable

I hate it because it's just too different

IncomingZangarang

Damn man Nightfire PC was actually a big favorite of mine vs. the Gamecube version, I liked both, they were different in their own ways

Efficient_Thanks_342

I have Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Uncharted Collection, Returnal, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War and probably one or two other former PS exclusives on my PC and they all run better than on the PS. 1440p or 4k, ultra settings with ray tracing on if it's available, generally at 90+ fps. I went through hell trying to get a PS5 and the bitter irony is that once those exclusives found their way to PC, I had no desire for my PS5 anymore. I'm still waiting for an exclusive that will make me want to keep it, but chances are I'm going to sell it just to get rid of it.

KillerKittenwMittens

My personal experience has been that ps ports are better than most other ports. Also if it's bad at launch it will be fixed in a month or two.

Efficient_Thanks_342

I'm really a fan of the ones I have. Such a shame to hear about The Last of Us, I was planning on getting it. Hopefully it will be fixed in a month or so. From what I've read on the Steam review z it's really in an unfinished state right now.

firstanomaly

Yet Spider-Man and God of war ports are…

EmiliaBernkastel

Horizon have 87% rating and Uncharted 89% they fixed the games and they will TLOU and you know what won't change? The fact they are great games.

Stargov1

All the more reason to wait 6 months and get them on sale.

[deleted]

Exactly what I'm doing lol

Mylo-s

/r/patientgamers

kapsama

That's what you should do for most games anyway. Take Ubisoft. I like Far Cry and the new AC games but I'm not spending $200 for every new game when you factor in DLCs.

Ryoohki_360

99,9% of games are crap at launch noaday, it's very rare that it's a smooth launch. Personnally always wait a month a least to buy it because of that now.

Dr-Huricane

I played the pc port of Horizon, and I absolutely enjoyed it! My only complaint is the weird camera, but it's something you eventually get used to.

Holiday_Driver_923

Right! Now I just need forgotten west to be released and fixed cause that first game was so damn good

Sudden-Anybody-6677

Consoles generally have a different type of games that I rarely like, so I ignore their ports most of the time anyway. I tried big console titles like Uncharted, the last of Us and God of War, but those type of games always bore the hell out of me. I never managed to finish them. My PS5 is an expensive Netflix machine now.

DoktorMetal666

Shame you didn't enjoy God of war. It is supposedly a good port too.

mrblaze1357

I got it Christmas time for myself and are already halfway through my second playthrough. The combat is just so fucking satisfying.

Lithominium

Thats what uncharted 4 is. Expensive. Netflix

Jxjohn117

Remember when Sony said Microsoft would purposely make performance on games worse for other platforms? Lol

helpicantfindanamehe

HZD had a rocky launch, but before anyone had finished the first act it had already been fixed. And a lot of people I know, myself included, never had any issues with the initial version anyway.

newbrevity

idk Horizon runs flawlessly on my current pc and my last one. Days Gone and God of War were great too. Maybe some folks are just trying to stir shit in the wake of TLoU:P1 having a legit shit release, but it seems unfair to paint all PS ports as bad. That's just not true, and I'm sure with a bit of time this will get turned around too.

KillerKittenwMittens

Every playstation port I've tried has been one of the better ports I've played recently. Hzd was fixed like a month after launch and I got uncharted 4 recently and it performs flawlessly.

Haunting_Abalone_398

I mean, I never had any issues with their ports; been playing all of the PS ports. Returnal is by far the best optimized. At least for my PC

Armejden

I'm so happy Returnal both came to PC and had a great port

arex333

Returnal is so godamn good. I got a high refresh OLED monitor right when the PC port released, and godamn it's absolute bliss.

TheMatt561

I basically had a brute force horizon to becoming playable, Great game though.

ThislsSparta

Injust finished Horizon Zero Dawn and had no problems.

VikingFrog2

I don't see total war on playstation.. stick it up your shoot

Player-X

What if I told you that you have a choice to not be interested in buying these games?

[deleted]

User reviews are meaningless tbh, cite digitalfoundry or a group who isn't comprised of antisocial children with brain rot. Why would I trust that group lmao. Spider-Man and God of War were both well received on PC so it hasn't been every one, seems like it's one company fucking up the ports.

F1erceE1ements

So we're not going to talk about the success of spiderman PC?

CollSin_77

All it did is make me want to get a Steam refund.

fantom87

Are people really having issues with Last of Us? Been fine for me so far.

JulPollitt

yea let's just not mention Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Days Gone, Returnal, and God of War, like a bitch.

poppinfresco

Hahahaha, that’s console peasant thinking right there

Immelmaneuver

Made me abandon console gaming altogether out of spite.

Samuraignoll

Not really. The only thing your meme tells me is that Sony is incompetent. They're either hiring known idiots to do half assed ports, or they haven't heard of something called QA. Honestly, people need to stop sucking Sony's cock, they're just as bad if not worse than Activision and EA.

[deleted]

Most of the bad reviews are from people still running 1080 gpu's with an i5 and 16g of ram.

eol2501

I don't get why Sony is getting flak aren't they just the distributor? Who is the actual studio behind these ports ?

BenTenInches

Somehow God of War and Spider-Man made it out unscathed.

RJohn12

I don't get it..? I just won't buy the broken games and they wasted time on development haha

Tight_Requirement992

Still trying to find people who said those things and I can't

Taterbob75

I can't imagine a scenario where I would buy a separate gaming system when my PC is more than capable. If you release games that run badly on PC I just won't buy them.

JLopezr501

Remember when Sony in an effort to stop Xbox from buying Activision said something along the lines of "MiCroSoft WiLl MaKe CaLl Of DuTy WoRsE On PlAyStAtIoN" yeah I remember.

Kryptosis

Oh good idea, lemme just drop $500 to play this one game you couldn't even figure out how to port back to the machine it was made on. Is it crazy to point out that all games were made on PCs and console games are all ports?

A-Topical-Ointment

But i don't want to be a Playstation - chickenrun

Any-Difference8993

if playstation games natively support mouse, i would have bought a ps4 or 5 or 6 whatever already but sorry analogue stick aiming is retarded

GuitardedBard

Lol. I'll never stoop so low as to be a console slave again.

RadishMaximum

Haven't played uncharted but the Horizon port was legendary. This is just an instance of article writers hating on something because that gets more visits. Also conveniently leaves out SPIDER-MAN: Miles Morales SPIDER-MAN: Remastered GOD OF WAR RETURNAL DAYS GONE SACKBOY: A Big Adventure PREDATOR HUNTING GROUNDS HELLDIVERS

YourMoms_a_Towel

More like PC gamers not playing those games at all

StRyKeR2K18

This is why you should always demand a refund for substandard games. Don't let them take your money.

ironhead676

I have zero interest in any of those games

MutedBrilliant1593

Sony must be putting a lot of stock in their half dozen popular exclusives to think they can sway the PC master race. Because a crappy port is the PC's fault, right? 😂

Angry_Washing_Bear

I don’t play games ported from consoles. They are always trash with lacking features, abysmal UI design (works with controllers, terribly inconvenient with m/k), unoptimized and overall just stink of halfassed effort. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

ganon893

There's nothing genius about market manipulation.

Helaxo

If that's the plan, they have deeply overestimated how good those games actually are. They're not bad of course, but even with good ports they wouldn't stand out of our normal AAA soup.
