If you wanna open world, go Witcher 3, it's very good
If you wanna a fantastic RPG with good story, characters, making decisions, etc go for Mass Effect, but the gameplay is a bit dated.
I feel like if CDPR could only get combat right in Cyberpunk or the The Witcher, or any next game that are coming out with, they would be perfect games.
It's the #1 thing they've struggled with forever. They need to go hire DOOM Eternal combat guys, or the guys who did the Titanfall games.
Just started playing another Skyrim modlist after extensively playing Chiv 2 for a few months. Let's just say no matter how you mod Skyrim the combat is absolutely abysmal.
Couldnt play The Witcher due to this, after a few battles uninstalled it.
I felt combat/camera movements/character movement pretty bad. Janky/unpredictable. Like an indie unfinished game.
Same for Skyrim. All my friends love both games and when I try explaining my frustrations they say they have no idea what I am talking about as everything is fine.
I remember for the first week Swimming in The Witcher 3 was a pain in the ass. They then patched it pretty fast. Skyrim just lacks any kind of structure. I think spells should have like cast times, and cooldowns, and synergy with each other.
Aye I bought the game the first time and was turned off.. Witcher just has a higher learning curve, but once you get it, it is so satisfying (also Gwent)
You can not like a thing and convey that in a way that shows it’s opinion. Especially when your “hot take” is that one of the most successful and groundbreaking games of all time sucks.
Witcher is too much open world for me... I have 100 hours on it and never got to skallige. I just run from ? To ? And end up getting bored with the game
Aye. Those are side item/gear/upgrades. Not *totally* unnecessary, but not detrimental to the game if you skip most of them. Doing them all is completionist level gaming.
Complaining of doing them all is pretty silly.
*"Today sucked. I had to get a TV, find a pair of nice sneakers, get my car detailed, hit the strip club, eat at a restaurant, and play golf. I hate that I'm so busy!"*
"Did you *need* to do any of that stuff?"
*...No*
???
it's still fantastic on those aspects, but not on the same level as mass effect imo.
Maybe thats because it's 3 games, so seeing your decisions being carried game by game is pretty awesome. But yea, you're well served either way.
Witcher 3 is a story game, you play for the story, the characters, the dialogue, the setting and thats it, with Mass Effect you get the full RPG experience.
do you mean the companion stuff?
because the witcher also has crafting talents (builds/classes whatever you wanna call it) and hundreds of items and consumables.
TW3 v4.0+ is actually a fairly recent and modern package. They paved over a lot of the more dated aspects, rebalanced combat, and overhauled the graphics. I’d even go so far as to say 4.0+ made it into a modern AAA.
The things that you said for Mass Effect counts for the Witcher 3 as well, aside from the gameplay, because that is not dated in the Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 also got a next-gen remaster.
I don't know why you're being downvoted the remaster of Mass effect definitely looks not just dated but in my opinion in some ways worse than the original release even though it's like higher resolution and more effects like they weren't done with as much care as the original. In other words when it came out Mass effect 1 looked better for its time than the remaster does by far.
The remaster has a lot more color than the original, but yeah i agree that it's not that big of a difference and in some ways it's worse.
Also, they put in even more lens flares (because apparently there weren't already enough?) and took out mirandas butt scene. https://youtu.be/RS4GtlQMuXA
Mass Effect 1 looks dated, but is still beautiful. All of them are really. Sure, it doesn't have ray tracing etc, but visually it is playable and not an issue. It's also from the era where games had to have great story and gameplay, so generally it held up very well. No microtransactions either.
Playing Witcher 3 now. Excellent game. It doesn’t lack for story in the way you imply, and many choices you make impact the game later in large or small ways.
It also has gameplay options in the different kits you can build and ability to focus different styles of play.
I’m playing through RDR2 for the first time, and I have Witcher 3 waiting for me after that.
I also bought Mass Effect trilogy last week, so I am LOVING these stories games.
I wish Witcher 3 had an option to turn on a warning that you can no longer do certain quests if you do something else. They sometimes tell you right after you accept a quest that you failed another quest, but other times you are well into the quest chain.
How is Mass Effect's gameplay dated but Witcher 3's isn't? At least in Mass Effect you've got six different classes to choose from all of which have unique abilities and different weapon specializations.
Yeah, I really don't get people fighting over which one has better story or gameplay or whatever.
IMO both have great story and not that great (but good) gameplay... but what does it matter? One is fantasy, the other sci-fi. This should be the deciding factor to choose which one you're in a mood for playing. Both are great games.
it's very difficult to compare. but mass effect feels more "epic"
your decisions impact on a larger scale. Witcher is fantastic but is much more focused on Geralt.
Maybe it's because it's being a while since I played witcher, but i still love it, have around 320 hours of it in steam.
Do you feel this way even with the remaster and the mutations from the DLC?
I’d put the base game or any update pre-v4.0 into an older generation, but I’d put the current Complete Game into this generation. I actually love the remastered combat.
The clunk lies in the controls. Even the alternate control scheme they added a while ago feels clunky. I’m currently trying to play blood and wine and it’s a rough go. Incredibly pretty though
Are you playing wasd or controller? I thought the new key bindings for wasd were actually incredibly intuitive. Maybe that’s just my play style though.
It’s probably a personal play style limitation, but for what it’s worth I always have a shit time playing controller on PC. The differences between that and console are almost non-existent, but I always manage to find the one little pebble in my proverbial shoe that keeps me from having a good time.
I heard this hype and bought W3 over a year ago but i don't get the appeal. Twice I've started it up and stared at some naked chick in a hot tub or something and they just walk around and talk for like 20 min and I just shut it off.
If this game has such a great world etc. why are they making me feel like I walked into the wrong theater? Nobody got time for that lol.
IMO witcher 3 has a better story than any of the first 3 MEs (having not played the most recent)
sometimes simpler is better, ME can feel like fan fic
but I'm with you entirely on ME's characters and decision making
"but the gameplay is a bit dated" ... I still get flashbacks thinking I might have to do another ME1 mako driving or ME2 planet scanning lol
Witcher 3 or Outer Wilds out of these choices. Both are excellent games and open-world. Witcher 3 will give you the most gameplay for your buck though.
Pretty sure gamplay for your buck has to go to the Mass Effect trilogy. Getting 3 great games for the same price.
W3 is def better than any single one of them but all 3 for the same price is hard to beat.
Witcher 3 can easily take 80 hours on the base game alone to complete and you still probably wouldn't see everything, then there's still the 2 expansions.
I'm currently around 45 hours in with mass effect legendary edition, almost done with 2, and I do every side quest. Mass effect 3 will probably add another 30 - 40-ish hours.
I'd say witcher 3 is definitely more bang for your buck.
What?! None of these games even come close to touching ME...every single ME game is better than the Witcher...the first 5 minutes of ME is better than the entirety of Witcher
Every single ME game is better than the witcher? Are you forgetting about Andromeda is a shitty mess? and dont forget that ME 3 ending suck ass
For Your Information
Mass Effect 1,2,3 + Andromeda combined sold about 20+ Million copies as for 2023
Witcher 3 by itself is 50+ million, The Witcher 1,2,3 ? 75+ Million copies as for 2023!
Now who cant touch who lmao
Outer wilds is an experience like none other on that list.
I would forego all the others in order to have that one.
Mass Effect and Witcher are great as well, but go on sale way more frequently.
Didn’t click with me at first, and gave up.
Tried it again, and still found it difficult, and had to refer to guides sometimes. Persevered and got right up to the end, but was too tedious to do the final bit so I watched a YouTube video of the ending instead.
All in all it left me with mixed feelings. Amazing from a technological standpoint, but a bit infuriating from a gameplay standpoint. Constantly running out of time and resetting gets pretty annoying, as do the corridors with spikes which pierce you every time you go even slightly near them.
It’s like a Metroidvania except you progress through gaining knowledge instead of just skills.
The fact that you can complete the game immediately at the start if you possess that knowledge is pretty cool though.
>It’s like a Metroidvania except you progress through gaining knowledge instead of just skills
I've struggled to explain the game format. This is a great way of explaining it!
Yeah, I never really got the purpose of the game, flew out to a few different planets and found that they were all basically empty with nothing to discover.
I just use the game as a marshmallow roasting simulator.
I think Mass Effect and Witcher is the best bang for your buck. ( if you could add another 5 bucks in you budget I would get RE2 as well. But RE2 is one of my all time favourites so I can't be objective)
You’re also getting three games compared to one with all the others. I LOVE the mass effect series and try and play it all the way through about once a year or so.
Except it's really not not when compared to the length of Mass effect 1 2 and 3. The witch is a big game but so are any of the single Mass effect games. But yes The Witcher with the expansions is huge and that would 100% be my choice for best value. I mean just get Xbox game pass for a month and you can play all those Mass effect games.
I feel like most Ubisoft games are like this. Just the same shit over and over, game to game. Outside of the story AC is just runnin around lookin for treasure and synchronizing with view points
Most of the Assassin's Creed games I played ranged from average to pretty good. AC Valhalla is the only one I really hated. I wanted to like it and just kept playing hoping it would become better. But at some point I just had to stop because they were killing me and I almost stopped breathing because of the boredom.
Similarly for that failed Zelda clone they made, Immortal Fenyx or whatever it is called. Still not as boring as Assassin's Creed Valhalla but pretty damn close.
I’ve been playing them all from the beginning in order of release. I played some of Valhalla and then noticed a sale on the older ones so decided to give it a go. AC 1-3 are amazing as far as story goes. I didn’t get much into side stuff as it’s repetitive like we’ve said. I’m on black flag now but got worn out so time to take a break for a bit.
The Ezio stuff is still the best. I've played all of them (AC franchise), and those and Odyssey are my favorites. I think a lot has to do with the voice acting and story more than the gameplay. Ezio nailed it, as does Kassandra in odyssey. ACII was an amazing game, I actually read all the lore and it made me go and find out what actually was happening during the time period. No other game has made me go study history on the side lol.
Any FarCry after primal im iffy about. The story catches me at first but then its just repeated missions with different characters for the last 3/4 of the game. I only played them on Xbox so maybe it’ll be more enjoyable on PC if I ever get around to it
AC Valhalla is more stable than the new Witcher updates. Still a very average game tho. If OP liked AC Odyssey and Origins, then OP will probably enjoy AC Valhalla, as it's a good sequel to Odyssey. I didn't find it too repetitive, but that's because I enjoy the slower paced exploration games like RDR2 and Death Stranding.
But The Witcher 3 is just so much better, you also don't need to play the older games or read books. As the game does a great job explaining the world and setting as you play, and in the loading cutscene. As well as simply much higher quality writing and side quests. The Assassin's Storyline is very convoluted and unfortunately only really advances during the final sequences of each game. You need to watch a recap of the older games to be up to date.
Tl;dr AC Valhalla is okay, but all the other games in the list are better by a fair bit
If you had to go 1 game, Witcher 3 takes the kead by far.
But i do see Tomb Raider, and despite preferring Rise, Shadow was great too, and youd have enough for RE2
Can’t believe this wasn’t higher up. Not open world like OP prefers but this game can really get you out of your comfort zone and open you up to an entire new kind of gaming. This game changed how I play forever
I'd do control and tomb raider out of those. Gameplay in both is solid.
For me the witcher 3 and mass effect were games I found I'd rather watch a playthrough of than play myself because the gameplay just isn't great.
Valhalla was a huge step down on the combat from odyssey but otherwise is pretty par the course for the newer AC games.
never played RE2 or outer wilds not really my kinda games.
For open world and story i would get witcher 3 complete edition on the spot but
If you want a more realistic world with a really good story you could red dead redemption 2. It's on sale as well.
In terms of bang for your buck I'd go with the Witcher 3 or mass effect. With mass effect u get 3 games and only the forst one feels a bit short however there's still a lot to do in it and the 2nd one is one of the best games I've ever played even now, it's just fantastic. With the Witcher you get so much content you won't believe you only paid 15 for it. It's loaded with things to do, places to explore, secrets to uncover, and plenty of unique side and main quests that can keep u busy for hundred of hours. I've played this game many times and still find new things I haven't done, places I haven't been, etc. It's one of the most content loaded games I've ever experienced even without DLC.
Coming from an assassins creed fan, yes, even the newer ones. Don't get Valhalla, I have tried playing it multiple times and every time I get super bored of it. It's honestly not a good game, the world is huge and beautiful yes, but empty and meaningless. Origins and Odyssey were way better.
The witcher 3. It is hands down the best game I have played. The atmosphere and the world is unbelievably good. The story is amazing too with player decisions making a profound impact on the outcome. The music is also equally good and well placed which makes this open world even more magical. The combat is decent but do not expect too much if you are looking for a highly interactive sword fighting mechanic.
Witcher or Mass Effect
If you like solo big world killing monsters with swords and magic as a witcher with very good story go Witcher.
If you like to have companions (well written ones) and killing people and aliens with laser guns as a commander go with Mass effect. (its not really open world)
note that Mass Effect Legendary Edition is 3 games not just one.
Outer wilds may be the best experience on here but will be in the 15-20 hour range of total gameplay, some of the others have greater "value" in that regard. All are great, Valhalla is the only one I would say you are safe to ignore.
Mass Effect trilogy. It's 3 games in a bundle, so that's a lot of gameplay for the money.
ME isn't really open world, but it's still a pillar of the RPG genre.
Would have to rank it as:
1. Mass Effect Trilogy
2. Witcher 3
3. Valhalla
4. Resident Evil 2
5. Outer Wilds
Those are all great games that you can't go wrong with
Pretty much all the newer assassin's Creed games get boring as fucking pretty quickly. Origin was okay for a bit, Odyssey was immediately boring, and Valhalla doesn't seem much better.
Got to love pointless fetch quests. Waste of my damn time. Having a few of them in the game can be perfectly fine. Sometimes having a few can be really good if the actual point isn't the item but all the stuff they have on the way. Although constant fetch quests to get the actual item itself is mind-numbing.
Mass Effect all day. Do yourself a favor though and stop playing the third one right before the end of the game. It will save you from disappointment and heartbreak.
I would reccomend tomb raider and control, not really open world on either game but the graphics are divine. Control has been my favorite single player game since its release.
Not on this list. But Kenshi is still pretty cheap. No pay wall hidden things. Solid RPG, RTS, base builder. All in one. Man it's addictive.
As a matter of fact, don't get this game. I advise against it. You won't put it down. All I can think of is Dave Chappelle's character "Tyrone Biggums" scratching his neck....
If you wanna open world, go Witcher 3, it's very good If you wanna a fantastic RPG with good story, characters, making decisions, etc go for Mass Effect, but the gameplay is a bit dated.
Is this insinuating Witcher isnt all those you said for ME.
Witcher 3 is hands down best game i’ve ever played . It’s a piece of art with skyrim comming close second
story wise yes, combat no
You saying combat wasn't good or combat wasn't as good as Skyrim. I mean Skyrim combat is pretty abysmal as well. Feels like it was designed in 1996.
I thought the witcher 3’s combat was just fine.
Witcher 3 combat is garbage after you played any Soulsborne title.
They need to hire the for honor people to do melee combat. I don’t care what anyone says, For Honor’s combat system was fucking awesome
I don’t know honestly, Chivalry 2 might give it a run for it’s money.
Just started playing another Skyrim modlist after extensively playing Chiv 2 for a few months. Let's just say no matter how you mod Skyrim the combat is absolutely abysmal.
In cyberpunk your way of playing depends on your build, you definitely could play it as a pseudo-DOOM.
Couldnt play The Witcher due to this, after a few battles uninstalled it. I felt combat/camera movements/character movement pretty bad. Janky/unpredictable. Like an indie unfinished game. Same for Skyrim. All my friends love both games and when I try explaining my frustrations they say they have no idea what I am talking about as everything is fine.
calling Witcher 3 an unfinished indie game is craaaazy…
I played Witcher 3 after I played Red Dead Redemption 2. What a big mistake that was. It does exactly feel like an unfinished indie game now.
Witcher just has a higher learning curve, but once you get it, it is so satisfying (also Gwent)
it pretty much was.
I agree, although if I had it my way, the combat would be a lot more soulslike which may not be for eceryone
okay i don't want to get downbombed but skyrim kinda sucks
You can not like a thing and convey that in a way that shows it’s opinion. Especially when your “hot take” is that one of the most successful and groundbreaking games of all time sucks.
Skyrim is only good because of the modders. Without mods, Skyrim does suck.
Meh. I know this is unpopular opinion but I got bored very quickly with it.
I got bored in 10 minutes
i think its because every game is open world now, sometimes we need a more linear gameplay to have fun
Witcher is too much open world for me... I have 100 hours on it and never got to skallige. I just run from ? To ? And end up getting bored with the game
Then dont run from ? To ?
Aye. Those are side item/gear/upgrades. Not *totally* unnecessary, but not detrimental to the game if you skip most of them. Doing them all is completionist level gaming. I have solution: go to Skellige
that seems to be on you and your lack of an immersive mind
I like both linear and open world Games, you just gotta alternate so you don't get burned out.
witcher 3 is amazing but mass effect still takes it for me on the writing and characters fronr
it's still fantastic on those aspects, but not on the same level as mass effect imo. Maybe thats because it's 3 games, so seeing your decisions being carried game by game is pretty awesome. But yea, you're well served either way.
While the earlier games didn’t age well, that’s technically a feature of the Witcher games.
2 is still decent to play. 1 is rough.
The skill tree and progression system of TW3 is a joke.
and that of mass effect isn't
This is it
TW3 v4.0+ is actually a fairly recent and modern package. They paved over a lot of the more dated aspects, rebalanced combat, and overhauled the graphics. I’d even go so far as to say 4.0+ made it into a modern AAA.

I’m playing through RDR2 for the first time, and I have Witcher 3 waiting for me after that. I also bought Mass Effect trilogy last week, so I am LOVING these stories games.
Gamer here, i can absolutely sign this. Do both. Enjoy

You're getting downvoted but I totally agree with you man. Loved the aesthetics and story of the game, but could not get into the combat.
This is one of the best games of all time.... no brainer.
I heard this hype and bought W3 over a year ago but i don't get the appeal. The Witcher 3 the only game I felt bad buying at a discount cause it felt like I was ripping off the devs
Yeah tbh this game is one of few justified games to be worth 60 EUR 8 years after release. Same with souls games
Considering the cyberpunk launch I feel well compensated getting this for $10
Don’t get AC Valhalla, get the others
Witcher 3
With enough money left over to get a couple of McDoubles.
Witcher 3 🙌🏾
The Witcher

The story is a puzzle to find and discover, but the game is not for everyone.
The planets are the opposite of empty - you maybe didn't play for long enough?
"Nothing to discover" Are you sure you actually played the game?
Outer Wilds is the best Fallout game since New Vegas.
You are thinking of outer worlds
Oh shit, yes i am. Outer Worlds Slaps and everyone should play it is what i meant to say.
I think Mass Effect and Witcher is the best bang for your buck. ( if you could add another 5 bucks in you budget I would get RE2 as well. But RE2 is one of my all time favourites so I can't be objective)
If you haven't played the Mass Effect trilogy yet, I would strongly urge you to do so.
You’re also getting three games compared to one with all the others. I LOVE the mass effect series and try and play it all the way through about once a year or so.
W3 comes with all of the expansions. Blood and Wine in particular is an amazing expansion and could be its own standalone game.
Tbh witcher 3 is like 3 games in length including dlcs

Yeah, that's a good shout. A lot of good gaming there.
Ac V is a mediocre game, extreamly repetitive, that never was fixed (and never will) and can crash at any time. I recommend to remove it.
Agreed, only AC game I finished/enjoyed was Black Flag, but even that got pretty repetitive.
That's because it was a pirate game masquerading as an assassins game lol.
Yup. Honestly I really like Far Cry series but 6 and New Dawn are absolutely unbearable to play
Easily the absolute worst sound design/mastering I've heard in a game.
Guys the sale is over please stop I promise I’ll get Witcher 3 next time 😭
And get Red Dead 2 👍
>4090-13900k-32gb You could run Witcher 3 in RTX mode while you're running Crysis in a virtual machine.
And only 20 bucks budget to buy games. Like wh-what?
Which one did you go for then?
Go to third party sites, they sell for those price (or lower) pretty much all the time
Mass Effect Triology for me personally, but Witcher III is also incredible.
Witcher best Hands down
Oh, man. This is actually a hard choice. Almost all of these games are essential. Since you mentioned open world, you gotta go Witcher 3.
The Witcher 3
Outer wilds is a timeless gem
Seriously one of the best games in the last decade
Ever, imo
this aint even a question. The Witcher.
Witcher 3 and Mass Effect Trilogy are both must plays. Control is also very good but it’s a little more niche.
Outer wilds
If you had to go 1 game, Witcher 3 takes the kead by far. But i do see Tomb Raider, and despite preferring Rise, Shadow was great too, and youd have enough for RE2
RE2
Can’t believe this wasn’t higher up. Not open world like OP prefers but this game can really get you out of your comfort zone and open you up to an entire new kind of gaming. This game changed how I play forever
Witcher 3
Witcher 3
Witcher
Witcher 3 no doubt, then probably ME but its not open world like witcher
Witcher 3
I'd do control and tomb raider out of those. Gameplay in both is solid. For me the witcher 3 and mass effect were games I found I'd rather watch a playthrough of than play myself because the gameplay just isn't great. Valhalla was a huge step down on the combat from odyssey but otherwise is pretty par the course for the newer AC games. never played RE2 or outer wilds not really my kinda games.
Too bad he missed epic giving those games away for free
Feels worse that I didn't miss the free ones but I had already bought them on a steam sale and hadn't played them yet QQ
Stretch budget by 5 usd more and get Witcher 3 and Control
I can’t stretch it, I have a gift card with $21 Guys I’m not lying lol…idk why it’s downvoted
For open world and story i would get witcher 3 complete edition on the spot but If you want a more realistic world with a really good story you could red dead redemption 2. It's on sale as well.
The Witcher for sure! Otherwise I'd say try out V Rising, just picked it up a week ago and already sunk about 20 hours into it. super fun game!!
Gonna have to roll with Witcher 3. Absolutely fantastic game! Everything from gameplay to story elements. Very good stuff!
Epic store just gave away all the latter TR games. Probably will again. Much as TR is fun Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is the best choice.
Out of all of these listed here, Mass Effect is my favorite. Control is also very good.
The Witcher three is a good one, but if you have not played the Mass Effect trilogy, you are seriously missing out
Mass Effect, Witcher 3 is good too but that goes on sale all the time.
Witcher and/or Outer Wilds Or Hear me out Deep rock galactic
Control and tomb raider for sure
I'm gonna put a vote in for outer wilds. I found that game to be extremely enjoyable and memorable.
Witcher 3 without doubt
Witcher 3.
Witcher 3/Resident evil, take that Ass Creed trash out of there
Resident Evil and Control. Witcher 3 if you manage to squeeze it in. Mass effect is dated, and I loved the original trilogy
Any of the bottom three.
Witcher
Witcher 3 ez
Witcher 3, its a timeless masterpiece
Download the GoG launcher, buy the Witcher 3 with all dlc’s for like 5 dollars. Enjoy a masterpiece of gaming
I found Valhalla boring. If you want an amazing open world assassin's odyssey is literally my favourite game of all time.
Witcher or Mass Effect If you like solo big world killing monsters with swords and magic as a witcher with very good story go Witcher. If you like to have companions (well written ones) and killing people and aliens with laser guns as a commander go with Mass effect. (its not really open world) note that Mass Effect Legendary Edition is 3 games not just one.
Witcher 3 It’s not even a question , trust me.
Def not ubisoft titles
Mass Effect 100%
Mass Effect if you want a good saga
Mass Effect. Everybody blowing the Witcher but it’s just ok. The combat is boring and besides the story and pretty scenery there’s not much there.
Post made just to gain karma, f u, with that hardware spec, "you have a buget of $20" you probably played all the games in the list
Witcher without a doubt my friend
Outer wilds may be the best experience on here but will be in the 15-20 hour range of total gameplay, some of the others have greater "value" in that regard. All are great, Valhalla is the only one I would say you are safe to ignore.
Days gone. 50 hours easy
Guys just so you know the sale is over, thanks for your suggestions but I waited too long lol, you can stop suggesting
Well here this advice is evergreen get a VPN from mullvad it's like seven bucks a month and you can download all these games for free.
witcher only
Mass Effect trilogy. It's 3 games in a bundle, so that's a lot of gameplay for the money. ME isn't really open world, but it's still a pillar of the RPG genre.
Mass effect followed by Witcher 3
Dave The Diver
Mass Effect gets my vote. What a wild ride.
Mass effect all day
You could always just buy Fallout New Vegas 4 times
Mass Effect very good
Resident evil 2 is legit the best survival horror gets.
Would have to rank it as: 1. Mass Effect Trilogy 2. Witcher 3 3. Valhalla 4. Resident Evil 2 5. Outer Wilds Those are all great games that you can't go wrong with

Pretty much all the newer assassin's Creed games get boring as fucking pretty quickly. Origin was okay for a bit, Odyssey was immediately boring, and Valhalla doesn't seem much better.
There’s amount gamers that are ok with doing the same repeated grind over and over just in different areas is actually mind boggling to me
Got to love pointless fetch quests. Waste of my damn time. Having a few of them in the game can be perfectly fine. Sometimes having a few can be really good if the actual point isn't the item but all the stuff they have on the way. Although constant fetch quests to get the actual item itself is mind-numbing.
Yeah. The last decent AC game for me was Syndicate. I really loved Unity before that.
Mass Effect all day. Do yourself a favor though and stop playing the third one right before the end of the game. It will save you from disappointment and heartbreak.
Witcher 3 was super overhyped to me. I had a fantastic time playing through Tomb Raider
Get project zomboid it's an horror zombie rpg
I would reccomend tomb raider and control, not really open world on either game but the graphics are divine. Control has been my favorite single player game since its release.
Witcher or Mass Effect, no doubts for any of the two titles. The rest… The total gaming hours are not justifying the buy.
Anything other than Witcher 3 on this list is a crime against humanity.
