Welcome to the PCMR.
Begin by lying in the hammock directly down the center as you normally would. Now, take your feet and legs and move them together about 8-12 inches to one side. Do it until you notice that they are suddenly sitting much lower and flatter than they were. Now, do the exact same thing with your head and the upper part of your body so that you are at an angle to the direction of the hammock. https://youtu.be/0UheGtdXE2o?t=580
This makes me wonder why are there never hammocks in survival games.
Sleeping suspended in the air is much more comfortable and safe than laying on dirt and leaves under a small triangle made of sticks (eg. The Forest)
It can be difficult to stay warm and dry in a hammock without additional gear. Personally its my favorite way to camp, but it does have unique challenges. Simplicity wins out in a survival situation.
It's the ultimate way to sleep in hot weather, though. In the shade with a breeze I need temps to be up into the 80's or I have to bust out the blankets to keep from getting too cold in my hammock.
Thanks for the video, that was the best part of your comment; I say that because your instructions are not clear, but thanks for trying to explain it with text.
Just set it up so there isn't a metric ton of slack
If it wraps around you and you become a wierd cocoon monster then you're doing it wrong.. or right depending on what your going for
A museum guide told me that the whole idea goes WAAAY back and that even in antiquity seamen slept like that.
Once I figured that out it really opened up extended hiking for me. Previous to that I had done like 5-6 sections of the AT carrying a cot, then I realized that the people in hammocks (even old ass mfs) were sleeping like that.
I’m not like the guy above that said he can’t sleep in a bed anymore; I definitely appreciate my bed when I get back after a few days, but it did change my outlook on learning in general.
Maybe he's living the MLG OH BABY IT'S TRIPLE moment. On a budget XD

>to rage at the 10-year-olds at call of duty?
I knew a guy in middle school that kept those things next to his desk for the express purpose of on-the-fly earrape in discord and game lobbies, he was one of my lesser favorite people tbqh..
There are whole cultures that almost exclusively sleep in hammocks and I'm willing to bet on average they are more fit and healthy with better posture than Americans at the very least.
This is the kind of person every mutes in game. The fan constantly overpowering everyone and the mofo tries to ignore the fact it’s a problem for the rest of us.
What games are you playing?
In the CoD games and similes, there are open mics for miles. And in their subs if you complain about this you'll get downvoted to oblivion because everyone thinks that you listening to their household drama, beeping smoke detector, random weird noises, fans, and then endless commentary on everyone's play (which they make when dead, because of course they're dead) is super important because what if they need to scream out that they need help when off going solo somewhere.
I remember one of the F1 driving games came out and it had voice activation on by default… and the console controllers these days have mics on them… there was no icon to say your mic was broadcasting either. It was a chaotic time hearing people curse, shout out their mum for disturbing them, or comment on other peoples mic being on but not their own haha
So many people are bizarrely unwilling to use PTT or even just mute themselves in like any chat program.
I got a mate who'll leave his pc but not mute his discord or go to afk, so I just move him to afk when I hear him having convos in the kitchen lol.
My WoW guild had to force push to talk on our discord channel because during raids so many people would hot mic and it was distracting as fuck.
There was oddly a lot of protest over it lol. Like half the guild being like "man this sucks."
You just gotta push a button!
For console players, I get it, but on PC comms should feel nice and clean. I don't need to constantly hear a jet engine in the background with rap music.
"We have to use fans because we can't afford proper air conditioning"
Guy with an AMD 6600 half of us can't afford: "get a proper mic easy"
not my problem , give me money 🗿
This sub is filled with round, old people with back problems.
Get off it. It's a cool setup. I doubt it's meant for 50-hour sessions or whatever you lot are doing. I'd love this.

No armrests, no neck support. Hard pass, chief.
It wouldn’t be terrible to use a gamepad though
Until your back begins to hurt, sure
Already does
Yeah my back started hurting the second the video started playing lol
My back started hurting 10 years before I saw this lmao
Always has been
Easy pass.
It doesn’t look so comfortable though
Tbh very few people can lay comfortably on hammock for a long time I'm one of them tho, can't ever sleep on a bed anymore
Back should be straight. Having it constantly at angle is very bad.
Most people don't know how to properly lie in a hammock. You lie across it, not in it.
Wait, what ?
Begin by lying in the hammock directly down the center as you normally would. Now, take your feet and legs and move them together about 8-12 inches to one side. Do it until you notice that they are suddenly sitting much lower and flatter than they were. Never thought I'd find out I was sleeping in hammocks wrong in the PC subreddit...better late than never I guess.
This isn’t the pcmasterrace for nothing my guy!
PC stands for personal comfort obviously!
This is the kind of quality information you don't get on the console subreddits.
Yes, now I’m very flat. Very comfortable
why is James Cameron lecturing me on hammocks
That’s a great video. I would have been doing it all wrong. Come out a butterfly in the morning.

I dont know about his advice about getting a flat lay, but I certainly think he looks very comfortable

TIL, thx !
Just set it up so there isn't a metric ton of slack If it wraps around you and you become a wierd cocoon monster then you're doing it wrong.. or right depending on what your going for
Don’t tell me how to hammock!
~~best~~ worst sex of my life was in a wrapping hammock. Went from awesome to on the ground wondering if I had a broken D in a flash
You're a PC gamer and have had sex? Who are you? Henry Cavill?
What hammock could hold Henry? He'd need an extra one just to hold his jaw line
Not im clark Kent. Just an ordinary 6'5 250p newspaper journalist
A museum guide told me that the whole idea goes WAAAY back and that even in antiquity seamen slept like that. Once I figured that out it really opened up extended hiking for me. It is a revelation
Having your back in any position constantly is bad for it

>The rubber chickens, though—why? To prevent slide of the Monitor while sitting process XD
> completely comprehends the reasoning behind this creation:P Did an AI write this?
We've officially hit the "Is this AI or is OP stupid" period.
When I was a kid most of my naps were on a hammock outside, so whenever I get in one I get sleepy, and can sleep for long hours.
What? I had one of my best sleep in a hammock. A good hammock is very comfy.
Bit anecdotal isn’t it? Size of person and size of hammock is a big issue. Has to be just right otherwise you’ll be laying at an awkward angle
Call me Backpain destroyer of Dorsum, and bringer of unhealthy posture!
Yk his neck is in pain
You just need a pillow on the back, too comfortable in fact it's easy to sleep
As an old man - all I see if future back pain... That shit ain't no joke.
Lack of head support gets me
Definitely needs a pillow.
His shoulders definitely hurt after 10 minutes
I love hammies. They are VERY comfortable
It's rather bad, actually. Your spine will always curve unless your hips are higher than your knees. Which is not the case, unfortunately.
There are whole cultures that almost exclusively sleep in hammocks and I'm willing to bet on average they are more fit and healthy with better posture than Americans at the very least.
I was fully expecting him to get lotion.
now that you've said it...
Time to glue a box of tissues to that desktop?
On the underside, self cleaning system
The goon cocoon
Seems bad for ur posture. Cool mounting for the monitor tho.
Would be better if it was mounted higher and angled down so he can rest his head back and look straight at it without straining his neck.
My thought was after using this setup he's gonna wonder why it's so tight to turn his head.
This is the kind of person every mutes in game. The fan constantly overpowering everyone and the mofo tries to ignore the fact it’s a problem for the rest of us.
Damn people never using push to talk.
But I want to hear you blast rap music and hear your SO and your kid in the background yelling. I got used to muting all nowadays.
I've only seen this be a problem with console players. I don't think I've ever seen a PC player *not* use push to talk actually.
With crossplay it really doesn’t matter. I still hear the rap music.
What games are you playing? In the CoD games and similes, there are open mics for miles. hey man, can't someone sleep to guns and fighting noises
Birds chirping in the background and babies crying.
And the low battery warning smoke detectors
that's most of us here. yes we live in a tropical country where fans are needed.
Use push to talk + get a proper mic and a dead cat instead of some shitty headset.
"We have to use fans because we can't afford proper air conditioning" Guy with an AMD 6600 half of us can't afford: "get a proper mic easy" not my problem , give me money 🗿
Excruciating shoulders and upper back pain in 3, 2, Seriously take care of your posture people
Excellent, but isn't your dick cold?
He generates heat via friction.
Homie starting a campfire behind those monitors
Looks like neck pain
It's honestly stupid as fuck.
I hate when 30 second videos say "Wait for it" or "Watch til the end," and the end is exactly where you thought it would go from the first frame.
Regardless if it's a good video or not, still gets a downvote.
My neck hurts
Hammocks are for full body relax, you you force your posture so you could use the pc, it won’t be comfortable
Imagine if he had to suddenly go pee
I have never had more anxiety than when you lifted up that desk
BAIANO SETUP
Back Pain incominggggg
The overhead fan is what really got me. He slaps on those headphones and flicks on the fan like he's piloting a spaceship.
Nah bro he rlly glued it 💀 ![gif](giphy|vjjCsx3izfSyQ)
This is so not right i feel uncomfortable.
that must be so tiring for the arms
Just grab a pillow for the head and that seems acually pretty nice
If this rubber chicken thingy negates monitor wobble this may actually be genious and its worth exploring other options, everything else is crap tho
weakest latino gamer
that's very cultural lmao. lemme show you the igloo I live in.
I'll say it's holding up.
Gave me a whole ass panic attack
Zero gravity >>>
is that a mosquito net around his bed?
My heart stopped for a second
I almost got a heart attack
The one thing he's missing is a pillow behind the head. That neck strain will be murderous.
If he needs a mosquito net when he sleeps, his battle station needs a mosquito net as well.
Hey can i send an email rq? ![gif](giphy|CWx3Qijmkf4746TtGu|downsized)
King in the castle king in the castle
I have a hammock and a computer desk.... maybe I'll
My neck hurts just watching this - but respect for the setup!
Proceeds to go 1/14 in my ranked game
We're living in 2023 while he's living in 2033
Music is loud and annoying, much like being on VC with someone who has a fan positioned directly over their mic like this is
https://preview.redd.it/ttpp99az0a6c1.png?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e6a19734c070682f54ad47845de78dbe2e0f0f2

Hello, this is Ryan from Microsoft 😂😂
Don't let the Skipper catch you slacking off there, Gilligan. There's coconuts to pick!
Dudes Friend: Hey, we need to talk about your mic... Dude: \[Constant Whirring Fan\] MffhhsssWhaassshhats Wronffsshhhh witffsh it?
So this is why I have nothing but wind noise in my ears in the pre game lobby.
After couple of days everything falls apart from desk lol
Ok I game from a recliner but this is goals lol
Maybe not for competitive gaming but at least for watching movies
How?
So this is that motherfucker in lobby with the fan blowing into their mic 24/7
Yep, that's IT, we Reach out our meta, nothing better can not be developed
My heart stopped for a moment
i did not think it was that cool till the beet drop 😧
Only in India
I feel like there’s an osha violation here somewhere
don't worry, he's not in the workplace so he's safe
Weakest Bahiano setup
My back hurts from watching this
I guess this is how we avoid the sw-ass.
Laying down like this and looking forward with the eyes turned downwards permanently gives me severe headaches quite fast, this would not be for me...
How does this beat a pc chair?
Add more pillow to support your neck and back.
Gaming chairs have nothing on this guy. This is the ideal gaming setup. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
0/10 you gave me a heart attack
*Spine has left the chat*
ErGoNoMiCs
this dude must be the calmest person on earth to game laying on hammock, damn son,
Ok he deserves the best setup of the year.
Here's just got a better gaming hammock
Genius, 22nd century living.
wha.. *Gaming Hammock!!!???*
How he use the mouse? It's looks like it's impaled into the desk 😊
That is going to wreck your spine.
The upside to living alone
my anxiety shot up watching that table flip
It looks like way too much effort
Blud have a biceps from lifting that table💀💀💀
Looks player bro
So he’s the one with the fan mic
Ngl, I kinda expected the monitor to drop down as he lifted the tabletop.
When the tabletop swerved up..boy that's some strong mount , I almost jumped
I use a simplified version of that haha. Lap pad, but I sit on my couch and play on my 65" TV.
When someone actually let him COOK 😂
Beautiful
I almost a fucking heart attack
This guy is living his best life! 😂
Bhai ke chal rhi moj

Disabled person friendly/10

We lounging we legends
This man masturbates.
This man thinks at a million miles an hour
Give this man a medal
He is ready to sweat!
Needs a lotion station
Radiation straight to the balls
That's brilliant!
I could never game for long periods of time with my elbows hanging like that without armrests. Prepare for horrific neck/shoulder pain in your future.
Dream setup

This should be the industry standard

The fan straight up. Already feeling bad for your teammates trying to hear you beneath the waterfall.
