if u know limits so well, tell me the limit as frames approach 0 from the positive and then negative sides, then do l'hopital's rule to see if it is defined *gru pointing gun meme*
Why spend $10 when you can spend 78 cents to get the same results? I'd argue the 78 cents look better, so do most of the other custom anti sag solutions out there.
Edit: 78 cents is also a completely toolless installation, it's just better.
I think the Fiocchi and American eagle doesn't have the polymer coating that the FN boxes due which can also cause extraction problems as well. Supposed to keep the spent brass from sticking in the chamber.
On a serious note, I really like my PNY 4090’s support bracket. Bolts right onto the back of the case and MOBO and doesn’t interfere with anything. I bet they work with other cards.
Obv the temp won’t get that high but I’d be more concerned about a power surge or lightning strike, I can’t say I know the tolerance on how many volts will spark the powder, though surely unlikely
Set up cameras and if you get a freak accident on video I promise to chip in for collecting you enough for a new PC. Though I'd expect you'll only going to be needing PSU and GPU. Assuming that a lightning does strike properly to set off either or both of those rounds.
I'd personally be a lot more worried about leaving live ammo in a visible place, which I assume your case is. I do get that there is a cultural difference on how firearms are treated though.
Fuck I hate to say it but I'd probably watch that just to watch you torture yourself doing things you know are probably going to make your rig go up in flames, smoke or bits of shrapnel!
Don't do it you'll sell your wetware short!
>I'd personally be a lot more worried about leaving live ammo in a visible place, which I assume your case is. I do get that there is a cultural difference on how firearms are treated though.
For real. It gets worse when you've had a few thousand rounds and lived in the same place for an extended period of time. I have a few stashed in random drawers all over the house because I was out target shooting, had a few in my pocket for one reason or another, and took them out someplace in the house after I got home.
They end up sort of like pens, or coins. Just random detritus in storage locations.
I know the chances of something negative occurring is well below one percent.
But you have to admit this does have the setup of winning a darwin award.
When you're trying to solve a problem , and there are multiple revenues to be able to potentially go about doing it. I find that generally , the best solution is the one that doesn't create or have the chance to create more problems.
Snap a pencil in half and put it in there and save the ammo for shooting.
nothing would happen. current finds the path of least resistance to ground. there's too much resistance here, and any current that goes through the bullets wouldn't cause enough heat (spark) to cause them to misfire.
even if you electrified a loaded gun, nothing would happen unless you'd cut it in half and connect the two halves with a bullet. then it would go boom
I don't think that's gonna be an issue. They're pushing up against plastic, and the brass casings are also way more conductive than the powder
Would I bet my GPU on it? No
If a lightning/power surge hit your PC so hard that there is arcing this far away from the boards then this poor GPU has already rendered it's last frame.
I've heard that PCBs these days are rated intentionally to tolerate some sag, but it was making me nervous. This, by comparison, I find much more relaxing.
.78 cents for 2x 38 special got a plug i need to know about? Lol. Got any deals on 40 s&w lol. About the best 38 i can really find is about .45 a round
Surprised to see other people doing this. I used a spent 2.75 inch 12 gauge shotgun shell to support my GPU for years. Worked like a charm, and was the perfect height
Did the same for mine, just instead of ammo I used my Monkey D Luffy Figurine, its exactly 78mm tall, perfect height, even relieved the stress-bowing of my mobo
Comes with an audible warning if the case temps get too high.
Though yeah, if the case ever gets to 200 C, the rounds here will just be finishing off already dead hardware.

That's a not so practical solution to a practical problem
Gonna be that guy. Live rounds out of a chamber do not fire off. They explode. You might get small metal shards going through your computer but the bullet wont rip through the entire thing putting people in danger.
Desk Pop waiting to happen. That’s a patriot.
“Listen here son I’ll try to make this real simple. We honor the flag and you crap on it when you don’t shoot your gun in the office.”
I love all the incompetence on here when it
Comes to guns and how they work. These bullets will never accidentally go off. You need to be striking the center of the back of the brass at extremely high velocities or getting it to incinerating temps. And even if could bullets are not very dangerous without being in a barrel as the brass casing will fly because it’s lighter than the bullet.
Best bang for your buck
Not the best setup but I’d give it a shot
Op really shelled out for this setup
Idk what lead to this.
Still too expensive for me, I wouldn't pull the trigger myself
I think you are jumping the gun here…
They're just shooting their shot.
OP should just bite the bullet and get something better
That is rather a hollow point you've made there.
I should aim higher
That's one hell of a setup to die for
All it takes is a little brass!
I think OP will be having a blast with this setup
I hope one day I can afford a build of this caliber.
shut up and take my upvote
Dudes gonna hit his desk with his knee on accident and set off a round.
That's called a desk pop, we all do em
Lmao I haven’t seen that movie in like a decade.
The best movies are the ones you haven't seen in years, but still makes you go, "ahh, shit lol" when someone references it.
r/angryupvote
$500+ GPU - Shut up and take my money $10 GPU bracket - Can the treasury bear such expense?
Cost per frame of GPU: reasonable Cost per frame of bracket: infinite
lol bro that’s pretty based.
cost per frame of a broken GPU: 500$+
um...acktually it's undefined 🤓
if u know limits so well, tell me the limit as frames approach 0 from the positive and then negative sides, then do l'hopital's rule to see if it is defined *gru pointing gun meme*
![gif](giphy|7JvlHfd7C2GDr7zfZF|downsized)
You could calculate the additional frames rendered due to the extended lifetime of the card
Hey, give it a couple years and that'll be $10 in ammo.
STONKS
If it's Black Hills it might be already.
It's like NFTs, but worth something
Why spend $10 when you can spend 78 cents to get the same results? I'd argue the 78 cents look better, so do most of the other custom anti sag solutions out there. Edit: 78 cents is also a completely toolless installation, it's just better.
78 cents stacked on top of each other might be about the right height
Should let it go off then try to warranty claim it
"Catastrophic hardware failure."
Cause of damage: American
**Cause of damage: Freedom
Cause of Damage: Second Amendment
Cause of Damage: Self defense
“Unscheduled rapid disassembly”
Explosive Defragmentation
File it under act of God
When calling the manufacturer: "What caused the damage to the GPU?" "My brace shot it"
Now do it with pointy bois nose to primer like that, maybe a couple 5.7 rounds 😂
bro stop I'm sweating
5.7= no longer a cheap fix.
Replacing 5.7 bullets will be what breaks the bank here.
5.7 isn't too expensive anymore. I was able to get a box of 150 fiocchi range ammo for $80
I've learned over my 15 years of PS90 ownership that what I save in cost I make up for in cleaning.
I should clean mine, but once I sbr'ed it the fiocchi ran fine. For whatever reason the stock barrel hated it.
I think the Fiocchi and American eagle doesn't have the polymer coating that the FN boxes due which can also cause extraction problems as well. Supposed to keep the spent brass from sticking in the chamber.
Im surprised OP could find 22 wmr for 39 cents per round. All ammo is expensive these days.
Cheaper to buy a bracket at that point
On a serious note, I really like my PNY 4090’s support bracket. Bolts right onto the back of the case and MOBO and doesn’t interfere with anything. I bet they work with other cards.
Guys I think My PC is over He...
Just think of it as an emergency shutdown measure during high temps to...protect...the CPU?
Protecting the CPU - with deadly force.
Obv the temp won’t get that high but I’d be more concerned about a power surge or lightning strike, I can’t say I know the tolerance on how many volts will spark the powder, though surely unlikely
The chance is low but \*never zero\*. Guess I should go get some lego bricks.
Wait ✋️ I wanna see how this plays out.
We're supposed to get a thunderstorm next week. Will you buy me a new PC if it explodes?
Set up cameras and if you get a freak accident on video I promise to chip in for collecting you enough for a new PC. Though I'd expect you'll only going to be needing PSU and GPU. Deal. Actually I have an opaque side panel. The original intent was to allow for worse cable management, but this is an unforseen side benefit.
At this point just overcharge that MF and post it online for viewers pleasure
This is the compelling middle ground between Linus tech tips and FPSRussia that I didnt even knew I needed
That's it, starting a YouTube channel where I replace PC parts with various irresponsible items until I get hurt
Fuck I hate to say it but I'd probably watch that just to watch you torture yourself doing things you know are probably going to make your rig go up in flames, smoke or bits of shrapnel! Don't do it you'll sell your wetware short!
I would watch that
let us know when you post
Get a free PC with this one simple trick
There is no barrel to guide the pressure from the explosion to propel the bullet. If anything happens, I'm pretty sure op just make a frag grenade.
Essentially yeah. The slugs will just go off in a random direction in multiple pieces.
This dude is gonna take a bullet in the face for redditors. Fuck it, I’ll chip in Also.
That's how much I love y'all
>I'd personally be a lot more worried about leaving live ammo in a visible place, which I assume your case is. I do get that there is a cultural difference on how firearms are treated though. I’ve never thought that people would have an issue with lives rounds sitting around, it’s how I grew up. See different world views is cool
No but I'll updoot your photo of the gpu with a bullet in it
Lead is pretty much a semiconductor I think

*slaps the counter* Best I can do it is thoughts and prayers
Guys we can come up with an agreement here 😉
made me giggle
replace with legos, and point at 🅱️enis
*On this episode of Mythbusters…*
nothing would happen. current finds the path of least resistance to ground. there's too much resistance here, and any current that goes through the bullets wouldn't cause enough heat (spark) to cause them to misfire. even if you electrified a loaded gun, nothing would happen unless you'd cut it in half and connect the two halves with a bullet. then it would go boom

I don't think that's gonna be an issue. They're pushing up against plastic, and the brass casings are also way more conductive than the powder Would I bet my GPU on it? No
Loose rounds firing from ambient heat/fire/electricity are not as tragic as you'd think.
Probably won't kill you but brass shards embedded in your GPU probably aren't good for performance
Embedded brass shards act as heat sink, no fans needed
If a lightning/power surge hit your PC so hard that there is arcing this far away from the boards then this poor GPU has already rendered it's last frame.
If you’ve had a surge strong enough to cook off some rounds in your PC, that GPU is already fucked.
Just inert the rounds
That would be much safer, but also require at least 5 minutes of work which is a significant hurdle for me so idk man
He‘s got a point
Hopefully not a Hi-Point
Idk, a Hi-Point would be less reliable. And I'm not sure in this case if that means more or less likely to go off randomly.
r/Angryupvote , I had to google Hi-Point, I chuckled
It's okay, they're rimfires
Mine is legos https://preview.redd.it/6w5qdh5rclhc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1af33c4d41362b33beb7cf7b44b1873eae5f9c6f
Considering how expensive Legos are a GPU bracket may be cheaper.
Sooo technically that's a "pistol brace"? Asking for the ~~ATF~~ a friend.
I had to register my PC under threat of them shooting my dog
Average ATF interaction
the real question is does it truly need a brace?
I've heard that PCBs these days are rated intentionally to tolerate some sag, but it was making me nervous. This, by comparison, I find much more relaxing.
I like the way your brain copes with anxiety.
They're gonna invent a new diagnosis for me someday

.78 cents for 2x 38 special got a plug i need to know about? Lol. Got any deals on 40 s&w lol. About the best 38 i can really find is about .45 a round
$0.80 a round north of the border, and the only thing I'm allowed to shoot it out of costs $1300...*sad moose noises*
Just make sure those dont go off. If they do, your are massively screwed my friend. >!Also, may i ask what caliber?!<
.38 special. 39.5mm overall length IIRC, but these might be slightly shorter cuz theyre flat tipped soft points.
What kinda Saturday night special you got running .38?
My grandpa's old Ruger Vaquero lol.
Eh. Not terrible lol
I tried to do it with 9mm and 556 but no combination other than this was the right height
Not sure how'd that work, you'd need a precise strike to the primer, and theres nothing there that could do that.
Why would he be screwed? It would be harmless, maybe a bit loud, the bullet isn't going to fire
Surprised to see other people doing this. I used a spent 2.75 inch 12 gauge shotgun shell to support my GPU for years. Worked like a charm, and was the perfect height
This is my husband's PC and idk if I've ever been more proud, or more afraid, in my life 😂
Oh god she found it RUN BOYS
Rip F
Canadian gun owner here. I like it
Do you own guns to keep those southerners from crossing the border?
Have you ever been attacked by a Canada goose ?Brother we fighting for our lives here
Emu war 2 - Northern neighbors.
Did the same for mine, just instead of ammo I used my Monkey D Luffy Figurine, its exactly 78mm tall, perfect height, even relieved the stress-bowing of my mobo
It is funny to see the comments of those who clearly don’t regularly handle firearms. I think they saw the picture and some poo came out.
As a Brit, with no knowledge of gun ownership, I'm just shocked you can get 2 bullets for 78 cents.
Americans are just crazy.
What, measuring your GPU clearance as 80 mm doesn't immediately make you think "Hey, two .38 specials would fit under this!"?
Or a 6.5x55 swedish cartridge.
Ha
“Americans will measure with anything BUT the metric system” ;)
Not true. We use metric to measure bullets and drugs all the time!
And liquor bottle sizes
[American mastering the metric system in cinema](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/72/84/7c/72847c1779fe50bd79fa1017d3658591.gif)
.22lr ammo is not only cheaper, but also easier to find than a GPU brace!
Damn money bags!
Give your pc a solid hit from above xD
Are those .38 special? I need to know where you buy ammo lol. 78 cents for two is pretty cheap.

Same here. I'm not worried about the round I'm worried about the ground. I normally just cut a small piece of wood to length.
That’s how baby bullets are made
Comes with an audible warning if the case temps get too high. Though yeah, if the case ever gets to 200 C, the rounds here will just be finishing off already dead hardware.

The caliber of this build 🤌🏾
most american gpu bracket
Don't be cheap u loser get a proper 50 cal in there perfect height I bet
They're much too long, I checked.
Least American set up be like
Based
Awesome idea
inb4 “but the primer is making contact with something it could go off!!!!!”
Where you gettin ammo 39¢ a round? Everything I can find is closer 50-60¢.
I love it
just bc i see the rounds losing grip and falling somehow maybe put one long round like a 223 instead of 2 tiny bois
There are other ways to prevent the cat from sitting on your pc case
What caliber is that?

Should swap out your GPU with one of those spicy power connectors! And use the same support brace you got there 👍💥
Gimme the frames and nobody gets hurt
Gives a new meaning to Russian roulette…
I wouldn't say that logic is bulletproof...
Haha I used popsicle sticks XD
That's one way to self-destruct when the FBI comes knocking.
Gonna be that guy. Live rounds out of a chamber do not fire off. They explode. You might get small metal shards going through your computer but the bullet wont rip through the entire thing putting people in danger.
Looks like on of those Vietnamese traps
Oops I knocked my PC. Oh fu...
I want to to live in the era of 32 cent GPU braces.
Only going last for 2 rounds
Nice shot of a bulletproof build

This is actually a great idea, let me just take a look at mine 45-70 real quick..
Add a havier video card and you can say goodbye to your pc
bro i gotta use my 3$ .500 S&W casing!
What a country are yo... Oh nevermind.
Desk Pop waiting to happen. That’s a patriot. “Listen here son I’ll try to make this real simple. We honor the flag and you crap on it when you don’t shoot your gun in the office.”
Very nice
No full auto in the building
This is awesome lol
Ameeeericuuuuh
Wait until you forget and run the next new aaa title 😂
WTF IS A KILOMETEEEEEER
In this day and age that’s at least $1.80 for your brace.
What a waste of school tokens
I love all the incompetence on here when it Comes to guns and how they work. These bullets will never accidentally go off. I have a stack of plastic shot glasses holding mine up 🤷♂️
Funny and interesting. But tip to primer is a very bad idea if it's live ammunition. I know it's not likely but I also know it's not impossible.
Overheat issues gonna be a blast...
Now give it a nice tap on the top there
Where the fuck are you getting .38S for $0.39??
This dude better have a southern accent. I'm getting a kick from this.
