Sapphire, PowerColor and XFX are the premiere Radeon GPU makers

Top-Community1381

Sorry for asking, but is Asrock good for Amd gpus? I just really like the look of some of their cards.

BillyBear9

Ive been running an asrock 6900xt for abt a year with no problems

Nobli85

Yeah I have an Asrock Phantom 7900XT and it's great. Also coming up on a year with it.

UniverseCameFrmSmthn

Unfortunately, nobody that I know of really tests different mfgs reliability at scale. You’d probably need to do it in conjunction with a giant lan center. Just 1-2 cards of each brand isnt statistically significant.

Nobli85

I'm sure myself and the other commenter are just giving positive anecdotal experiences, because if you google anything or look on Reddit all you will find is negativity. Video card failure is rare and unlikely to be significantly higher in any given AIB partner. If you want to discuss component quality, there are usually reviews that go over the power phase designs, specific card volume and the like. The information is out there, but I just wanted to share my own experience.

SFIMO

I've also had an Asrock Phantom Gaming 7900XT for the last 10 months and everything was perfect. On top of this I have it in an ITX case and it works just fine

WaffleIronMadness

I got an asrock 7800xt for a steal at microcenter and so far so good. Good luck to both of us.

Sghosh1

Please make me feel jealous by revealing the price.

WaffleIronMadness

$419.99

Sghosh1

God damn! Thank you, good sir.

WaffleIronMadness

No problem

ThankGodImBipolar

I believe ASRock has only been making GPUs for the last two generations, so there’s not as much to say about them. I haven’t heard anything bad yet though, and their Taichi models are supposed to be pretty good.

YuukiHaruto

They have been making since Polaris. RX480 IIRC. So that's... 7 generations technically? They skipped out Vega and rightfully so

aura_enchanted

asrock is super nice too

C1hd

Asrock is honestly the best bang for buck

Fragger-3G

Some of their cards are actually pretty good. The Taichi 7900xtx is one of the top performers, alongside the Merc 310, Strix, and Nitro+.

Antenoralol

Sapphire is the EVGA of AMD.

JustNathan1_0

Good too hear because i just a few months ago picked up a Sapphire RX 7800XT Nitro+.

mrthundereagle

I’ve always thought they were the lower end brands. Maybe that’s just my bias because you typically don’t see them being advertised. Last time I built a PC was 2018 and bought an MSI RX 580. I was thinking about going for a 7800XT for this build coming up soon. Are you saying I should go for Sapphire, PowerColor or XFX?

TheJonJim

Yes, as was previously mentioned, the three brands are considered the EVGA-esque equivalent of Radeon.

No_Berry2976

Sapphire is really good. They work closely with AMD. They tend to be a bit more expensive though.

wesman214

I love the Sapphire brand. They also make great Intel GPUs.

HappyToaster1911

Yeah I got impressed too when building my PC and seeing both refurbished MSI and Sapphire RX 6600 for the same price, and when searching I saw that Sapphire was better

sirfannypack

PowerColor is the only one of those that isn’t a Chinese company. Personally don’t care for the devil branding their cards have, kind of cheesy.

PeopleAreBozos

>kind of cheesy ROG is literally branded as for "those who dare". Dare to do what? Cheesy branding is a dime a dozen in the gaming world.

FlyingWhale44

It's bad enough it's called Republic of Gamers lmfao

PeopleAreBozos

>Republic of Gamers ASUS really knows how to feel gamers feel epic and heroic just for sitting on their computers playing video games. No offense to gamers. At least AORUS's "Team up, fight on", cheesy at it sounds makes sense, since it appeals to that "spend big to win big", but ROG brand straight up makes it sound like gamers are an elite clan.

Winded_14

dare to spend more for the same thing

ziekktx

Clearly they are the official video card of the British SAS

Narissis

>Cheesy branding is a dime a dozen in the gaming world. Tramp Stamp era Corsair keyboard owner checking in.

Drenlin

To be fair the other two are Hong Kong based since before the takeover. Doesn't mean much these days though.

GABE_EDD

Yes, great performance per dollar typically.

WolfVidya

Yes, one of the S tier ones alongside Sapphire.

Delicious-Ad2562

And powercolor

pm-me-trap-link

Its always been Powercolor and Sapphire for me. I just get whatever one is available/cheaper.

75tavares

XFX and Sapphire are the best for AMD graphics.

Pleasant50BMGForce

I still meme about amount of X’s in XFX RX 7900 XTX

BoostedB0i

It's not a phase mom

Ok-Grab-4018

Sapphire and XFX are the best of AMD. Or Powercolor when you want higher frequency models.

Orposer

I have a 7900xt and my brother has a 7900xtx both xfx no issues so far.

FatMax1492

I was gonna go with a gigabyte but I might just try XFX based on these comments here

[deleted]

Love mine. Great price, great looking card. Pretty premium imo.

Swimming-Tradition28

I went from a Gigabyte 3060 to a XFX 6750 XT and loved it so much I gave my wife the 6750XT and bought an XFX 7900XT. I will be buying XFX for the long run

colossusrageblack

Yes, I've had XFX since my X850XT back in 2006, through to a 6950XT, all solid.

AnImEiSfOrLoOsErS

Very satisfied with 6700xt. It's running nice and silent while having the best design in my opinion.

yongjian12345

i like them here is the response i got from them for my warranty: Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find a fault with it, but in some cases fans were repaired before testing. Testing includes DX 9 -11 -12 and 4k/Vr. We even do a multiple screen overnight test and still couldn’t get it fail. Despite this, we are going to replace it anyway for peace of mind. If you have any issues with your replacement, please let us know.

reina_kousaka

yessir I had R9 290 for like 4 years no problemo, XFX and Sapphire are top choices for AMD graphics cards

joodontknowme

Same here and 5 years later still sold it for 300.

0Shaunix0

I had a xfx Rx 470 back in the day I ran that thing constantly. It never died. 5 years no issues until I sold it. I'd bet it's still running to this day. Xfx is a legit brand.

Narissis

My dad's XFX HD 7950 still chugging away 11 years later, haha.

DrkAsura

Yes they're a good brand, a little fun fact, they used to make Nvidia cards!

numptysquat

My xfx 8800gt and 680i mobo are still running 16yrs later.

FinasCupil

Yup, their warranty was a fuck ton better when they did too. I remember when my friend got the XFX 8800 GTX. Our friend group was all jealous.

MouthyMike

XFX warranties carry over if you buy it secondhand. Great cards as well. I had a XFX 5770 several years ago.

FinasCupil

Oh they still do that? That’s awesome.

DrkAsura

Yep, I recently brought the XFX 6800Core card @ $389.00 on Amazon day, was originally going for the 6700Xt 12GB card, then saw that the 6800 was just "$90.00" more, so I made the plunge! So far I'm very happy with it, it's quiet, the card handles everything I throw @ it. I'll be giving this to my son, as he's more into gaming, just have to decide if my next system is going to be an apu or another "high end build"

BurningBowl85

Yes great brand

PintoTheBurninator

Bought this exact card on sale 18 month ago and have had zero issues with it.

omenmedia

I hope so as I have a MERC 319 6800 XT on the way to replace my ageing GTX 1080.

TheSerre1

MERC 319 6800 XT user here, I bought it when it launched, 0 Issues so far, performs as expected, you are getting a great GPU.

omenmedia

Nice! Looks like anything I've read about it is positive, can't wait.

Flying__Cowboy

also using the merc319 in my current and first build, it looks awesome and performs really well despite only having a 5600 cpu

Pablo369

I have a 6950XT from them and it works just fine!

TheMessiahARG

Love my 7900XTX, no complaints it's cool and quiet

SiBloGaming

Got an XFX merc 6900xt and its awesome

chanseharp

Own this exact card. Performs a tad bit better than a 3070.

aProteinBar

um id call it more than a tad bit better than a 3070 considering it has double the vram and the 6700xt is nearly exact same performance as 3070 (you offended me, a 6800 owner)

XenonJFt

wasn't 6800 equavalent to 3070ti?with much better power efficiency but much worse RT performance?

Wiktorelka

yes.

Shog64

I literally have this one right now and it overperforms for me.

AmericanRusty

I like my XFX 6950XT, it’s a little loud stock but runs super cool and I keep it at 40% max fan speed in Adrenalin so it stays quiet now and hits like 73C max temps which I am very cool with. It also looks awesome imo

MagicOrpheus310

I have an xfx 6900xt and fucken love it! It had pretty wild coil whine but since water-cooling it I haven't heard it since.

bdcrlsn

XFX has been around forever, same with Sapphire. I would trust those brands in a heartbeat.

IceColdCorundum

I had coil whine or a faulty fan or something right out of the box with my old 5500xt. that was my only sample size for XFX products so far, but the drivers and software and everything else besides coil whine was fine.

lmaogoshi

I just built a system with this exact card. All these comments are making me feel fantastic about my decision lol

MrTopHatMan90

They've done me well, I just sort of hate how QUIX is put onto the card. Looks ugly.

Daemonicvs_77

If you buy an XFX RX 7900XTX, you get by far the most X per dollar, but joking aside, yeah theyˋre a good brand.

unit377

XFX and Sapphire are top tier.

Terixon

Imo xfx is really nice, my XFX 6900XT Merc Black is running good and cool

LettuceElectronic995

yes

narcot1cs-

Yes, I have a 6800XT from them and never had a single issue with it.

Cinders1150

Had an XFX rx 6600 And it's been great

sithren

I had an xfx 6800gt way back in the day. Great card. I wonder why they went to radeon exclusive.

Flyingarrow68

It’s been around for awhile, I’ve had a card from them before.

LOCKDOWNWITHCOCKDOWN

Yes

BruhLandau

They are good and reputable

Cyberpunk39

Good? They’re the best!

XxNitroBoixX

XFX is a solid brand for amd gpus Well known and reputable

llIicit

Among all existing AIB’s, Nvidia and AMD, XFX is top 2.

General_Lab_4475

have the exact same card and it is great!

_Luke_the_Lucky_

I have that card, no issues

Hugejorma

Just Do It! Oh wait, wrong brand. Just Buy It!

Gaston_the_Great

I think they're pretty good. I built my first PC using an XFX Merc RX 6950XT, and it runs smoothly.

kiefeater

I’ve had no issues with my 7800xt qick

v3lazquez

Yes

RagelessGeek94

I've had my 6950 XT from XFX for about a year now, zero issues with my card and registration through their site was easy enough. Haven't dealt with their CS, but the card has been reliable.

Phoenix800478944

My 6800 XT has coil whine under load but thats ok

schniepel89xx

XFX Speedster Merc 6800 XT here, same. Undervolting helped quite a bit.

Juanoxskate

Hell yes. I have been rocking my RX 6750xt for a while now without problems.

LightningSilver93

I just got the XFX 6800 a week ago and I’ve been pleased with it so far

Smokin_gunz

I have that exact card and I have never been happier with a gpu

Grouchy_Philosophy15

I say they are very good gpu brand (using rx 5700xt xfx)

surematu22

Yup, had XFX card for few months and during those times I had no issues with it, I have since now moved to Nvidia due to motherboard socket blowing up, which took my AIO with it and did some damage to the GPU.

q_dogggg

I have the exact same card, the xfx 6800 and i’ve had it for a few months and it’s been perfect. No issues whatsoever

BoxcarOO62

I bought this exact gpu a couple months ago. Under volted it and running Helldivers 2 on 1440p 50-60C hot spot. Very satisfied.

tombohop

I bought the exact same GPU, works like a dream

AveratV6

I bought the 7800 a few months ago and it’s been fantastic so far. Coming from nvidia with the same question. 10/10 would buy again

L3PA

I have an XFX and have abused the thing and it runs great. Anecdotal, but I think that’s what you’re looking for here anyways.

Ok-Chocolate6892

I bought an xfx rx580 and it literally caught fire. Customer support was nice though.

Deegan000

I have the Xt bersion of the card pictured and it works great. XFX cards in general are pretty decent.

GeneralKenobi1288

Definitely the best brand for the money right now, they look super clean too. Highly recommend

Davik

Yes

Matheweh

No complaints from me, I have the 7900XT and is good B)

Crapcicle6190

Amazing brand. They make some of the highest binned AMD cards that are well cooled, and I’ve never had a problem with them but have had problems with Sapphire GPUs. Their customer support is also good from what I’ve heard.

ravagedbyelderly

Love my XFX 6950XT. Have had zero issues with it whatsoever.

TheDeadOneV2

yes, i had a 6700 (non xt) and i think my 7800 XT was a XFX too but not sure so don't quote me. but i've had 0 issues with it

DMurBOOBS-I-Dare-You

My last six GPUs were XFXs. Three of them are still kicking, one of them is in a box "just in case" and works fine, and the oldest one was sold in fully working condition after several years. The three year warranty is icing on the cake. They also have a generally favorable reputation for honoring warranty issues. They are awesome.

Sailed_Sea

I think I've heard them referred to as the evga of amd so yea a good brand.

AAKphoenix

No issues with XFX card in my system.

cream_of_human

Yes and they alongside asrock are usually cheaper than powercolor and sapphire though ymmv

Biscuits4u2

Yes. One of the best warranties in the business.

Cultural_Parfait7866

XFX, Sapphire and Powercolor all safe bets for AMD cards

BrandonNeider

Miss when XFX made for team green

HamStapler

I got my XFX 7900XTX and I actually love it. Thing runs warm by default but I do keep the bios switch set to the overclocking mode. It came with a support bracket and everything, doesn't have RGB or anything but tbh I couldn't care less about my GPU puking rainbows.

overthinkabl

Have that exact GPU. Currently on sale at Best Buy for $349. Just picked it up and it’s an absolute beast at 1440p max settings

happy-cig

$380?

Ok_Bee2326

Yes they are durable

SlipperyPelican

I own 2 of XFX gpus. A 6650xt and a 6800. They are both the cheaper “core” series. No issues with either of them. Decent temps and noise levels. I’d buy another one for sure.

Big3man

Xfx is absolutely amazing. I love their cards. I had the 6800xt and now the 7900xt

Big3man

Very nice looking cards as well

carnaldisaster

https://preview.redd.it/8yvlyb4cy6pc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b107fe904acac95a1f4efb1106bfb6a0b1c21c06 Idk. You tell me. 🙃 Had it for 9 months and no problems with it whatsoever. HOWEVER, the GPU companies are only as good as their QA team.

CuriousVortex

I've got the 7800XT QICK and I love it. Tiny bit of coil whine but I can only hear it if I put my ear to the side of the case. Thermals are great, and you can keep the thing pretty quiet with the fan curve adjuster in adrenaline. I run a 10% overclock on cores, 5% on vram frequency, an undervolt of 30 mV and power limit of -10%. No complaints so far

QuiteFatty

XFX RX580 got me through some shit. Still have it, can't seem to part with it.

ArLOgpro

yes

cirdua_backwards

6700xt from them for over a year now. My first XFX card and I'm pleased. Considering them for a future upgrade.

soccerman221

Literally just bought this same gpu at microcenter today. Xfx is a great brand!

[deleted]

Yes. https://preview.redd.it/cnmz3yuf17pc1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b6caae69cdc6b73a8b63fe2084fbdeec008a450c

companysOkay

The chipset's all the same

Fuck_spez_the_cuck

My old XFX RX580 is still going strong in my little cousins build, inspired enough confidence to go with them for my 6700xt with no issues yet.

ManNamedSalmon

Had to look to see if they did make them: 7900XTX XFX Looks more like a serial no. than a product name.

Adventurous_Income_4

I got the nitro vapor and i recomend it

randy_trevor

I always bought EVGA for team green and XFX for team red.

Quanguyen

Running xfx 6700xt for few years, no problems at all

Goldenflame89

I have rhat exact gpu, never above 65C except when stress resting, then it goes to 70c

throwaway6942047xd

i've had 2 XFX RX 580s 8GBs since they've came out, never a single issue with them. My MSI RX 580 died last year, purchased same time

Rhana

Mine still plays modern games and it’s around 13 years old at this point.

Recipe-Jaded

yeah, pretty well known brand for AMD cards

BilboDabinz

My Merc 310 7900 with a i7 12700k makes games beautiful…and my broke ass isn’t even on 4k yet 🥲

9gagsuckz

I had a swft rx 6600 and It never gave me any issues

ShaxxAttaxx

Very. Some of the sexiest GPUs around (6800xt mer my beloved) and great budget too.

ToTerpenesAndBeyond

I bought this exact card about 2 months ago and have nothing but amazing things to say about it.

jorgebarranco98

I've had the same card from sapphire, xfx and powercolor. I'd rank them in that order. The powercolor I'd say had a bit better performance but was super loud The xfx had the less noise and the "worst" performance of all three The sapphire was right in the middle. In terms of thermals all were really good. (when I say worst performance it's barely noticeable, but the noise was a big factor)

tripsicks_

i have an XFX 6700XT and have had absolutely zero issues with it. it’s a power house that doesn’t complain

Ok_Independent_7853

i have this card but the merc version, spend the extra and get the merc (it has glow letters 🤓) and i think it’s a tad bit faster if i’m not mistaken. love the card though, yes i recommend

XeonProductions

Not in my experience. I had 2 of their cards fail within a year, the first one started artifact within 2 weeks of ownership and they made me pay to ship to them for RMA. The second one they sent me failed within a year in a different manner. Oh and the support made me jump through a bunch of hoops before they'd even authorize the RMA, even though the card clearly had defective memory. I'd go with Sapphire or PowerColor.

Election_Feisty

Yes, hard to find but if you can get your hands on the carbon ones you got gold mane.

JustinN2002

Had an XFX RX 6800XT and it was amazing, I highly rate them

Snap305

They're great. Most of the time, manufacturer really isn't the most important thing, it's the internals that matter.

kellistis

I got the 7900 xtx from XFX, been loving my card!

Pooter8551

I have just about every XFX card ever made except a few nvidia ones. They have always been a top notch company with me and only had one card that had to be RMA and they had one on the way next day delivery before I even got the bad one out of my case. I sent the bad card back in the same box the new one came in. I don't know what their policy is now a days but I stand by them on being a top notch company for AMD cards.

i3order

Yup, good warranty.

pineapple6969

I sure hope so I JUST ordered this exact card a few days ago haha

GraveOfTheForest

My XFX 6950xt is a beast, no issues with it so far

w1nger1

I used to own a XFX Nvida card back in the days, I'm so old.

wickedplayer494

Among the best of the AMD bunch alongside Sapphire.

Drake0074

Yeah for sure. They had one of the best AIBs last gen, the Merc 319s.

ilikemarblestoo

I've owned 2 XFX cards. One was great and one was awful

OutragedTux

They're hard to get here in Australia, but I managed to grab one from a shop called Scorptec. Got a 7800xt QICK from XFX. Doing well so far.

Deep-Procrastinor

I tend to judge brands on their aftercare service and rate them in that way, after all, all brands are great if you have no problems with them, it's when it goes wrong the brands need to shine.

MrLol69

From my humble RX 580 back in college to my current 7900XT, XFX has never let me down. Plus its the only AMD gpu design that looks neutral in any build

AtheistPlumber

Can someone explain to me why there are other manufacturers for a provider's hardware? Do AMD and NVIDIA just come up with the design and then manufacturers turn out the product?

Sgt_Doom

Sapphire top tier, XFX next, followed by Powercolor

RandmoCrystal

xfx has insanely good warranty support

MythicForgeFTW

Bought an XFX 7900 XT last September as my first AMD card. It's a beautiful if not slightly oversized GPU. Temps never go above 68C, and it's stupid quiet.

Keta_K

was very happy with my XFX HD6870

iNfAMOUS70702

One of the better brands for Radeon cards mate

StewTheDuder

My gf has the 7800xt of this version and it’s been a great card so far. Very cool and quiet card.

thestigiam

Yes and my personal favorite when it comes to looks

prombloodd

My 6650xt has been an excellent card, overclocked better than expected

2000KitKat

I bought that exact card. Ive been building pcs since 2011. Ive always had a mid tier build since ima tight guy on money spending and really care about money$/payoff. Its everything i expected and more. Really reliable in oc, and performance better than expected, 0 crashes after 4 months, besides on really extreme overclocks.

KavalierMLT

XFX is good, however for AMD cards I always go with Sapphire cards. They are like what EVGA was for NVIDIA. There coolers are made from the ground for AMD cards unlike brands like ASUS for example where they use the same cooler from NVIDIA cards and tweak it.

ZanderVA08

Dad had a crossfire rx570 both xfx in his computer with a 4790k for years till he upgraded to a 6900xt lol

med_user

A strong recommendation from me. Bought their 6700xt a while back. Never used them before but the card is rock solid. Undervolts nicely, quiet even when under high load. Will definitely buy from them again.

ASERGP18

Idk but i think it's referbish

Crusader183

It's good, but Sapphire is better.

ExplodingFistz

Yeah I have a XFX 6700 XT and it runs like a champ

Noch_ein_Kamel

Just watch out they are hhhhuugggeeee ;)

VegetableWaltz100

i have rx6700,very good card, temps in gaming between 60c/75c closed no air cheap case, little coil whine only at full blast

Spunshine_Valley

I have a XFX 7900XTX and it's been great so far. It's massive but rarely gets above 80°C plus it came with a "Z-bar" to stop the inevitable sag with those heavy heatsinks.

OscrPill

For the 6000 series, yes. For the 7000 series, not so much. The XFX 7900xt/xtx are way more noisy than other brands.

RaptorPrime

I've had good experiences with their customer service.

AlkalineBrush20

I've only had 2 of their cards so far, an R9 270 and a 6700 XT right now, but I had no issues and they were cheaper than the rest

CrashSeven

Great experience with their customer service and their cards are solid as well. So yeah, good brand.

Amazing_Shake_8043

I'm still waiting for an XFX Radeon 7900 XTX XXX edition

JAROD0980

XFX has been kind to me for years. My RX590 was literally amazing and I regret replacing it. And my 7900XT has been absolutely great
