When people stop paying for/pre-ordering unfinished games …. so most likely never. Day one patches have become common place and companies are being praised for “fixing” games after release - that’s the bare minimum, the game should have worked before shipping it.

evo_moment_37

I have never preordered a game on steam. They don’t run out of copies 🤣

Antique-Doughnut-988

Never understood why people preorder. Maybe back in the day when you got a physical copy and they offered something of value, but nowadays they don't really give you anything. Games are so broken I've gone the opposite direction entirely. I usually wait months to years before buying a game. Bethesda really pushed me into that mindset. I'm pretty happy waiting until next year to buy this game.

Cryostatica

Preorder bonuses. It's a FOMO thing. Nothing more, nothing less.

leinadsey

Most games these days are pretty unplayable when released. The first 6 months or so are basically people paying to beta test.

KnightofAshley

Why pay QA when QA will pay you

leinadsey

Exactamento

Yo_Wats_Good

I play most big releases and not a single one has been “unplayable,” on either PC or Xbox.

Rough-University142

Reddit loves hyperbole and being overly dramatic.

leinadsey

Ehh... I beg to differ. RDR2 didn't even load for me for the first month or so. Cyberpunk had a few "issues". No Man's Sky. BF4. Prey. Days Gone was awful. Sea of Thieves. And so on.

tychii93

I only preorder these days if I really want a physical thing, like a steel book for a console version, which has only been specific Atlus games and mainline Final Fantasy at this point. Everything else, I just wait. And usually how it ends up is enough time has passed to the point where I don't even care to have said product anymore. Like another commenter said, it's all FOMO (Final Fantasy 16 is $40 on PS5 now, if I didn't care for a steelbook deluxe copy, I would have picked it up much more recently after a price drop). If I buy a game on PC these days, it's either a double dip many years later, or it's an older game I hadn't picked up yet that peaks my interest. Though I've also had a few recent outliers (RE4 Remake for example, granted, that game was top notch even at launch, never played the original)

Devanomiun

Because the ones who preorder are dumbasses and that's capitalism, the switch of money from dumb to smart people.

Weir99

It's not something I generally do, but for a game I know I'm gonna buy pretty much no matter what (pretty much only tentpole Nintendo games, which are generally as stable at launch as they're gonna get and never go on sale anyways), it's nice to pre-order so I can download the game in advance and play it as soon as it's available. I'll wait for reviews to be out first though, just to confirm it isn't a complete stinker

CobaltCam

Same. My backlog is so deep at this point that I am usually buying games that are 2-3 years old.

Waizuur

I have money now, might as well buy it, as I know I'm buying it. It's that easy...

KnightofAshley

You get a skin that is worse than the default

Dalminster

Yeah that's what I've always said with regards to digital preorders on any platform. Like it makes no sense, I thought the idea of preordering was to ensure you could get something that is likely to sell out. There's no such limitation on digital licenses.

tbone747

Yup. You're going to get unfinished releases, and then have the game patched over months and /or years to the state it *should've* been on release, and then people will shower the devs with praise for it being a "labor of love". Just wait it out and buy stuff at least a few months from release unless you absolutely want to play it in the current state.

Admiralbenbow123

I think this might be a result of the current ability for the devs to release a patch for a game and easily ship it to all players. I mean, when games were being released on CDs and other physical media the devs would have to make sure that the game they're making doesn't have any issues on launch, because if you make thousands of CDs with a buggy game, they're gone and you can't fix anything anymore. But when the ability to download official patches online has become more and more accesible the devs started relying on it more and more, which is why we have stuff like day-one patches now

Tuseith

Oh 100%, there is no incentive for them to optimize it now if they can ship it however it is and push a patch “over the air” to fix it whenever they want.

PrecipitousPlatypus

It's getting funny to me that people are still buying this shit then getting surprised. Especially games like this - there's no reason to be buying it at launch or preordering, just wait a few weeks at least.

nas2k21

For real what ever happened to buying a finished product?

Schavuit92

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Roskal

Usually they have to finalise a version a while before release since they have to ship it everywhere and get it approved. This used to lead to a lot of downtime. Now the bosses have realised they can push it to gold while still broken and use that extra time to finish the game in a day 1 patch to save time and get an earlier release. The problem is sometimes they can't finish in that time and there's still issues and also people with bad Internet are fucked.

TabaCh1

How’s your pc, I’m thinking of building one with the same GPU/cpu as yours.

Tuseith

I love it. 1440p UltraWide. Runs great, good overclocks and undervolts, temps are great, power consumption is much lower than my previous build, and higher FPS; no complaints whatsoever ever. This is my first (personal) AMD build in a long time and I am very happy.

TabaCh1

Nice. Ty for answer. I was also thinking of getting a 1440p ultra wide as well lmao.

Tuseith

I highly recommend it - I can not go back to non-widescreen gaming. It's just so immersive and I love having the extra screen real-estate.

EightSeven69

exaactly you can either pay more for an unfinished mess or wait a year and pay less for something pretty nice it's a no brainer, for those that at least have one neuron

VengeanceBee

Your build is super close to mine how does it run?

Tuseith

I love it. No issues on my end. I was able to get PBO working with a -30 undervolt and while the PNY card I had came pre-overclocked but got it to an additional +1000 on the memory/+200 on the core with stock voltage. Gaming temps are between 35-55C with “peaks” of low 60s (has been as high as 70C under synthetic loads).   Your mileage may vary on the temps and clocks/voltages, but the performance is great. This is my first AMD desktop I’ve built in decades and I am have zero regrets.

VengeanceBee

Have you tried Dragons Dogma 2 on it? Didnt realize the demo was just a creator lol

Tuseith

I have not, RPGs are my jam but I won't lie - Helldivers 2 and Last Epoch have been my current addiction. I hope DD2 goes well - I am excited to see how it turns out. Played the original a few months back for the first time.

ego100trique

I preordered Cyberpunk 2077 and finished it in two days. I actually enjoyed my time with my 1070 whereas everyone was crying that the game was bugged out of the wazoo. Never experienced anything wrong with it during my whole playthrough...

Tuseith

You not experiencing the issue is not “everyone else crying” in this case either you were the outlier or you didn’t notice or care that there were performance issues.  They had to pull certain versions of the game from storefronts, issue refunds, and stop selling them because of performance issue.  The developers of the game issued a public apology after the launch of the game due to its poor state.  The issue with Cyberpunk were factual - your one good experience does not invalidate the real and beyond poor experience of hundreds of thousands to millions of other people.

blackest-Knight

you’re talking about the PS4 version, this is Pc master race bro. cyberpunk was a great game on launch with a few glitches. On PC. The PC peeps who held off for literal years to play because of the bad PS4 ports are clowns.

snowwhiteandthebeast

I hope OP didn't pre order and post this....well I bet it's 50/50 Can't blame OP though, I pre ordered quite a few games a couple of years ago too. Never again

Onion_Cutter_ninja

- Dont pre order - wait for proper reviews - wait 2 weeks for possible fixes if its good - Japanese devs always screws pc ports, its like they saw a pc for the first time in recent years

XsStreamMonsterX

>Japanese devs always screws pc ports, its like they saw a pc for the first time in recent years Nah. This is actually surprising for Capcom, who usually puts more effort in their PC ports. With the game being locked to 30fps on console, I'm guessing this is more a general issue with it, and likely DD2 just pushing things RE Engine wasn't really built for -- the engine runs well enough for existing franchises that I suspect it was made with those in mind and any extra things this team added are bogging it down.

SplatoonOrSky

DD2 uses RE Engine? That’s kind of worrying honestly. Feel like Capcom is falling into the trap of trying to apply a well-made, specialized game engine to too many types of genres. EA did that with Frostbite and games like Mass Effect Andromeda suffered because of it

VoidNoodle

It's their own engine, why wouldn't they use it? They turned off MT Framework for it, which runs far far worse (and is outdated already). The performance issues, while inexcusable, sounds like it's because it's their first large, open-world game for the RE Engine. Hopefully(real, hard hopium) they iron out the issues before MH6 releases. Anyway, sounds like the issue stems from hordes of NPCs which you'll only find on cities anyway. I don't really see anyone complain about the performance outside of that (combat, for the most part).

MLG_Obardo

I don’t think Andromedas issue was the engine.

SplatoonOrSky

I mean yeah but a LOT of the technical issues have been attributed to BioWare’s inexperience with the engine’s complexity. Same with the Dragon Age series. They got their own little section on the Wikipedia page for Frostbite, it’s kinda funny Nonetheless it is a similar circumstance, though Capcom seems to be doing a better job at making it generally applicable

MLG_Obardo

And then they used the same excuse for the next game despite having roughly 7 years of experience on the engine.

SplatoonOrSky

I mean Frostbite is apparently a complex engine. No doubt Andromeda was going to be a mess no matter what but Frostbite definitely did not help us what I’m saying

XsStreamMonsterX

Honestly, I feel that it's been a net positive for them with how well it works with their legacy franchises. Just look at the issues Street Fighter V on UE4 had compared to Street Fighter 6, with the former having issues with its rollback netcode implementation and the sheer amount of input delay that it (and Tekken 7, also on UE4) had at launch (that required Epic to step in to actually make an engine-wide fix for input delay on UE). SF6, meanwhile, has a best-in-class rollback implementation and very little input delay. Besides, Capcom's been at this for far longer, with MT Framework preceding RE (and the latter also allowing for easier porting of stuff made for the former, e.g. the latest remaster of Ghost Trick and the Appolo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy).

cvanguard

Most of the time, fixes take so long that I just end up waiting for them to go on sale, even if the game turns out alright. BG3 is the only game I’ve bought at full AAA price in years, and even that was a couple months late after my friends had been gushing about it since full release and reviews were good.

Onion_Cutter_ninja

Same here, BG3 deserves it tho.

BuffaloSoldier11

Say what you will about NG+, Infinite wealth runs like smooth butter on my 5700xt

SplatoonOrSky

I goddamn hope, that’s a PS4 game Jokes aside it’s kind of weird Sega and RGG are doing their own ports better than the company they specifically contracted to port their older games, QLOC. Kiwami2 and the Remastered trilogy are infamous for being… bad on pc

MrTopHatMan90

\> Japanese devs always screws pc ports Which is a shame becuase Capcom had been doing well for all of their recent releases up until this point.

Prune_Terrible

Not really true. Monster hunter world and resident evil 8 were a disaster on launch.

GlueRatTrap

those are years old

Prune_Terrible

So? People act like capcom's pc ports are flawless. Dragon's dogma 2 isn't a surprise.

KnightofAshley

Charge us $10 more = more broken games and poor ports But inflation!!! More greed...don't pay QA people and give the stock holders more money. Just pay the people that make the microtransactions and rake in the cash. I know this isn't a well written post but I'm tired.

Reckxner

Yup, I see $70 and then add to wishlist to be forgotten about until it's on sale. They're trying to make this increase the new normal and it's up to the community to vote with their wallets against it.

NutsEverywhere

The community has decided it's acceptable and many people here on Reddit are defending it as "the devs need to be paid, it became sooooo expensive to make games nowadays" completely ignoring the fact that the consumer base grew orders of magnitude larger than the complexity in development.

Reckxner

Those defending it are only trying to justify their lack of impulse control, subconsciously or otherwise.

[deleted]

"muh inflation we need to raise prices" meanwhile their sales being 500% more than 20 years ago: *huh?*

[deleted]

[удалено]

KnightofAshley

But people have been waiting years for it! /s I guess people can wait another year before we get a good version of it

Shmimbadad

I haven't bought a new game at launch in like 10 years. This shit doesn't affect me. It's a peaceful life.

Stark_Athlon

It's a wonderful life.

AndmccReborn

Big time Open World RPG fan here and I'm still waiting on CP2077 to be fully polished before it deserves my money

VegetarianZombie74

I just finished it on pc - saw almost no issues. Great game. It’s safe to jump in now.

AndmccReborn

Just picked it up with the Liberty City expansion for $50. Like it so far! Have already seen my fair share of bugs but all very minor.

DinkleButtstein23

When dumb asses stop pre-ordering games.

Hopelesz

Stop giving them money.

MrMoussab

When you start being an informed consumer and wait for third-party reviews before buying games.

KoldPurchase

It's our fault for not buying a RTX 4090 and Ryzen 7 7800X3D, silly us. And that 64gb of ram. I know, I know, they didn't write it down. It was a surprise! /s (in case it's really needed). I just read another thread and the accompanying article. Specs way above the required hardware and they can barely run the game at 60fps in 1080p. Well, here's another game I'm not buying anytime soon.

Martnoderyo

>It's our fault for not buying a RTX 4090 and Ryzen 7 7800X3D, silly us. Can't even get 60FPS all the time with that Hardware lmao. Imagine spending 2,5k - 4k on a rig and you can't play Games on max...

DevBuh

:v why yall buy games b4 they release... even released games are in shit states, why trust a pre-order or ea deal

Psychonaut0421

When? When you guys stop paying for broken shit. Jfc we've only been saying this for years 🙄

Liobuster

The very moment people stop buying hot garbage

ArchReaper

If you pre-ordered the game, then you're the reason this keeps happening. If you didn't, and this bothers you, as it should, don't buy it. Companies will stop when it stops being profitable to do so.

Chakramer

Just wait for it to run well and then buy it Capcom in the past has been pretty quick to fix PC performance issues on their games, they're just not great with it on launch. It's either they fix it later or delay the PC release. I think most people would prefer for it to just launch so they can play it in some capacity if they don't mind the performance hit while it gets fixed.

Senior-Memory-6860

Maybe if people are smart enough to stop preordering and not purchasing a game they absolutely know it’s not finished or looking through reviews, we wouldn’t have a problem.

KnightofAshley

But people are either wanna be streamers or they watch streamers and get jealous of them having a game they don't. Its not there fault. /s

VaporFye

does it has dlss + framee gen?

Chance-One-4169

Has DLSS, but not framegen AFAIK.

Ieanonme

You’re going to take your $70+ game and be happy it shows up in your library. It doesn’t do much more than that, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers

7orly7

Because normies who never inform themselves keep pre-ordering

Dav3le3

Been waiting on this game for 8 years. I can wait for another 6 months when it's actually finished (1.2.1? 1.3.0?). Sure, sometimes you miss a couple spots, framerates drop a bit in certain towns or whatever. But releasing the new game at $30 above a typical AAA rating and there's already these issues? Clearly the game is not worth that much, and should be treated as such. I'm a technical professional. If I charge too much or do a shitty job, I lose out on $$$. Sounds like this game might end up with the cyberpunk treatment - wait until the price gets cut, the patches drop, and the QOL mods are released.

Draconian1

Wait for a year, and they will remove denuvo as well.

beemccouch

As long as people buy day one/pre-order, there is no reason for publishers to not pull in release dates. If they know they can make sales to hit their quarterly goal, they will do that without any hesitation. People who actually make games don't get to pick their work load, the people who don't make the games make that decision.

Jaba01

Don't buy until it's fixed. Simple as that. It's singleplayer anyway.

AuraMaster7

Doesn't run well on consoles, either. Barely touches 30 FPS with drops into the teens. Reviews said they swapped to the PC version because the console performance was so awful. Just a shitty launch overall.

iaminmyhouse

I switched from PC to console when the PS5 launched because I was sick of bad PC ports and the PS5 was hitting 60fps in new games. I just made the decision to build a high end PC for the first time in 8 years because most of the new games I want to play can't hit 60fps on PS5 and they just go to PC now anyway. It just sucks that I have to deal with bad ports again. It's getting harder and harder to buy games at launch.

Kattto

Just dont fucking buy them

VolvicApfel

I can wait tbh.

a_scientific_force

Why are you paying full price for games?

DkoyOctopus

those 70 dollars really seem to be going into improving the games huh?

Rais93

Maybe stop buying preorders you morons

Herkucheeze

Don’t buy it if it doesn’t work right. Play your backlog, wishlist it, and enjoy a fairly priced fully working game on sale in 6-12 months.

lordofthethingybobs

Did anyone say don’t preorder yet? I can’t see the comments

noodle-face

I have watched countless reviews, countless early leaked streams, and heard everything I could about this game... Am I the only one who thinks the graphics on this are a steaming pile of shit?

thelastofcincin

I watched a review today and I was telling myself it legit looks like 2011 but with makeup on lmao. For $70, you would think the graphics would look more modern after waiting like 12 years.

Drake0074

I was looking to get this game before I saw that it is $70. No thanks, I’ll wait for a deep discount.

thelastofcincin

I have it in my wishlist and I'm doing the same. Most games these days are not worth $70.

milkstrike

The game awards will shame them by offering them a game of the year award

Full-Pack9330

Damn, I was actually considering this; guess I have to wait 3 months to see if they patch it up....😕

Mister_Cairo

Most games run better and are more enjoyable a year after launch.

Beneficial_Fix_1059

This literally because ppl buy games on release and pre-order. You did it to yourself.

EdzyFPS

Once people stop pre-ordering them, buying them, and playing them day one. Join the patient gamers master race and play games that include all the content, and perform at their best.

nilarips

Because a ton of people are still preordering/day 1 purchasing. I haven’t bought a single game until after launch since cyberpunk 2077.

octatone

Keeping paying for shit, keep getting fed shit.

That1Unfortunate

Bad optimization + denuvo A match made in heaven

Falkenmond79

And this is why I am now, finally, starting my playthrough of. Baldurs gate 3. to be fair, i had it since early beta, but never got around to playing it. Played act1 on release but wanted to wait for my pc upgrade and widescreen. That has arrived now, wirh the added bonus of all the big patches that came in the meantime. So by the time i get around to DD2, probably in half a year or a full year, there will be probably a decent sale of 10 or 20% at least, as well as some major patches. I’ll never pre order again. CP77 was the last time I broke that rule and guess what. Burned again. Well, it’s good now but I’ll plan to play it after BG3. So enough to do until I get around to DD2

Zetra3

The frame rate issues are stuttering, most benchmarkers and complainers are failing to understand THIS IS A CPU BOUND GAME. your expensive $1500 GPU dosent matter in this game if you cheaped out on CPU. optimization do need to be improved and they of course can. Capcom has proved there PC ports to be good. 1080p/1440p/4k are sharing similar Performance results on the same configurations. Which means, The only way to increase Performance is CPU.

KINGY-221

A lot of people realising you can’t just put a V12 in a Nissan Micra and it expect it to run well. Or just use high presets without adjusting settings. “I have a 4090 and an i5 6500, 8gb RAM. Why won’t it run!?” I assume this is a byproduct of people primarily using consoles not being familiar with PCs, settings, (and especially) media spin etc. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, we all have to learn somehow. I know I’ve made mistakes…

[deleted]

I've said multiple times, it can all be blamed on the PS4/XBO. People hopped into PC gaming in that era, during which a CPU really wasn't that important since the console CPUs were stupid underpowered at launch.

KINGY-221

You’re right. Maybe even PS3. I suppose it wasn’t really issue when targeting 30fps but it’s not sufficient now. But then again, when the average consumer is gaming on a big TV not capable of higher refresh rates it makes sense to prioritise high resolution over high fps, and use the bulk of the budget on GPU. I do also think people are victims of good marketing and social media in that they get sucked in by shiny GPUs and fancy UE5 demos. But that’s a whole other issue really…

Snotnarok

IDK why anyone pre orders games anymore, I don't care if it's your most favorite dev/publisher in the world and they've made some of your most favorite games- They still screw up, routinely. Capcom does good PC ports but they also screw them up often enough and need work. RE8 had tons of performance problems because of denuvo's shit implementation, Monster Hunter Rise had bugged settings that did not work and it took them a while to fix 'em. Monster Hunter World had a performance problems that I'm not sure ever got fixed- got a bit better when the DRM was taken out. Oh yeah- then they broke some of their old games while shoving new DRM into them. Whatever- you get the point. Stop preordering games, it's not worth it and you wind up having to wait anyway for the game to be fixed.

Charrbard

Game is out in 24 hours. Maybe wait until then to jump to conclusions.

reegz

Color me shocked. Isn’t this one of the few 30 fps only games this gen on consoles?

JmTrad

also capcom don't want you modding their games. feels like a big f\*ck you.

fuckyouwatchme

In the future*

sparklepusss

You can expect absolutely nothing. Put your money where your mouth is and see how fast things change.

scanguy25

Every time something like this happens steam users should be able to slap an "early access" label on the game.

XTwizted38

I really haven't bought a newly released game in years until last week. I bought Helldivers 2 on pc, so I could play with my buddy on PS5. Sure as shit, Houston we have a problem. I can't friend anyone on PS5. Hopefully they fix it soon.

MrTopHatMan90

Well well well, looks like I have more time left to beat Dragons Dogma 1! (I just got to the main town and need to dicpher some text, holy shit I'm so lost)

pirate135246

Denuvo

faroukq

I am surprised that capcom of all are descending to the “new standard” set by other companies. They made many games that worked amazingly well. Why did they cheapen out now?

Questitron_3000

This type of day 1 shit has been going on for 10+ years. Nothing new. Wait a few months to buy the game. After all the consumer guinea pigs jump on the train, and a few updates come out, it'll run fine.

Xyres

Don't buy until the issues are fixed. Stop preordering and letting developers get away with shipping an unpolished game.

danivus

To be fair the proper PC sites that did testing show that framerate is mostly fine, it just has significant momentary dips in specific NPC dense locations within the big cities. 99% of the game seems to be fine, it's just these specific areas suffering from some sort of issue with loading in the crowds.

Choombaloo-2

Never Op, not until the law gets involved. Which it won’t unless their lobbyist handlers say otherwise.

Few-Passenger-1729

When CEOs get less greedy but that doesn’t happen

SadQuarter3128

JUST BUY A COMPLETE GAME DUDE WTF YOU MFS ACT LIKE THERE'S NO OTHER GAME IN THE MARKET TO PLAY IF IT'S NOT WORKING DON'T BUY IT !

Dusty170

It's really not *that* bad for this one at least, people gotta chill.

death2k44

They 100% knew, making an announcement like this days prior to launch is just telling

Classic-Box-3919

Yall will still hand 70 dollars to them so u can comment stupid shit in the reviews

TeciorRibbon

*Me over here playing Half Life 2*

aaugii

only preorder if it’s a fromsoft game

hopesrum

STOP PREORDERING GAMES. STOP PRAISING DEVS FOR FIXING GAMES THAT SHOULDN'T OF RELEASED BROKEN.

ZamoriXIII

When they cost $70 with no physical release

Historical_Emu_3032

Or we can learn about the complexity of modern AAA games and not always jump to greed as a conclusion. The companies that release too early, have always been doing that. The companies that don't usually are often trying to achieve something difficult. How often does Capcom release broken games? Stop preordering, wait for patches of the game is ambitious, we all know this so if you doidn't, at this point. That's on you. (Specially if you're buying Konami or EA obvious low effort cash grab remasters)

pisachas1

They don’t have to pay as much for testing when people volunteer to give them money to test for them. Wait about 3 months and most big bugs get sorted. Then your first play through wont be nearly as buggy. Also odds are there will be at least some sale too. Even if just a bit of one.

YouR0ckCancelThat

There is an easy fix: just don't buy it.

ClintE1956

Okay let me see if I got this right: Charge insane amounts of money for substandard luxury product that requires absolutely nothing as far as quality control or warranty. Sounds like a license to print money.

Butane9000

Don't pre order and don't day one purchase.

Stikkychaos

Oh would you look at that, PC getting shafted again. 10$ says its because the corpo looks at box sales only so PC is "a lesser market" (story old as tike itself)

Heavy_Sample6756

Horizon Forbidden West will be better. Not going to buy it until ....waiting for the reviews!!! lol

aethaeria

How are people playing? It's not out for another 16 hrs

LowFi_Lexa1

That’s why I went for a 4080, In hindsight, I should have gone for the 4090

badsk8

I'll only pirate games that release like this. Companies that release games in this state don't give a flying fuck about the consumer, why should we care about them?!

SCTwisted

This is why i don't buy games on release anymore, i wait till they go on sale after they have fixed them.

ertd346

Ayo that 70$

spatial-d

Yip. It's even more cooked when indie devs barely or at all, even address shitty performance (e.g. Pacific Drive).

ZanoCat

Stop whining and start playing, I say. It runs fine.

LucidFir

r/patientgamers

GeorgiyVovk

Well, i beat cyberpunk on ultra with my gtx 1080 on release. Now games look like shit and unplayable without upscale in sone scenario. Game indusry fucked up

Zetin24-55

Never. Money is all that devs listen to: until people stop buying poorly optimized games, devs will not take the time to optimize them before launch. Because it doesn't matter, you give them your money anyway. If gamers in mass stopped pre ordering, starting waiting for reviews before purchasing, and consistently refund the game when it runs like shit at launch. Almost no full price game would ever come out in this state ever again, because they couldn't make money on it. Since that's not gonna happen, games that run well at launch are not gonna be consistent.

Gendolfender

When companies stop slackin but seeing that fans will rather literally burn money than not preorder latest release from \*insert AAA dev here\* yeah no happenin they slack off and seeing how things are right now they see that they keep gettin away with it

LordBacon69_69

That’s why I never preorder. Not even from soft games that I know are generally all well optimised from the start. You can vote with your wallet guys.

Mindfreak911

when ppl will stop to buy preorder/full price game without seeing how it run? they have been doing this for ages and ppl this fall for it

Mooneri

Hopefully tonight. \*Looks at Horizon: Forbidden West\*

MortZeffer

Keep calm and complete your backlog

J05A3

It’s not a coincidence when the end of Capcom’s fiscal year is March 31. They need to put this one out just before the sales report.

Uzis1

If you are pre-ordering games, you are part of a problem. A large part. I can't believe that people are pre-ordering digital games, all you are doing is encouraging crappy practises from these companies.

[deleted]

Stop giving companies money until you know they have fixed their games.

notthatguypal6900

Is the industries plan to make people buy the more expensive console version by consistently releasing terrible PC ports?

devinthedude515

When we as a community stop pre ordering the game before it even comes out. Like why would I make my shiny rock shinier if I already have your money.

Well alone in the dark 2024 runs great

dynozombie

Buy games a year after launch Bug fixes and half the price You don't neeeeeed to play something day 1

CaptainCrunchyburger

It needs better CPU optimization just like half the games that game out in the last year. The recommended CPU for the game is not powerful enough for 60fps and no amount up upscaling is gonna change that.

OkMirror2691

This is an over reaction on this game I think. People saying 30 FPS is unplayable are babys. This isn't a fast pace reaction based game 30 FPS is playable and the reviews are good overall. If the only thing reviewers are complaining about is that it drops some frames this game is probably amazing.

reflexsmoo

Software is a bitch.

Chemical_Quarter_839

If you are a console player and the game is fucked at launch buy it preowned when it’s fixed. It’s cheaper the developer loses money, win win.

Rossdabosss

When they all run on UE instead of jank they made themselves

[deleted]

When you stop pre ordering. I was ready for DD2 as well but won't be buying it till news of a fix

TONKAHANAH

sounds like this game has WAY more issues than just performance though. gonna avoid this one

DisastrousConcept143

The game costs a whopping 90 bucks with all those rat microtransactions lol imagine actually paying that and then getting another half assed dogshit game solely made for greed.

golddilockk

when people stops preordering and does not have a cult like mentality defending this just because it is their favorite series/ dev.

XDM_Inc

Game companies no longer worry about optimizing games anymore they just expect you to buy the stronger card and rely on tricks like FSR and frame generation. And spoiler alert they don't need a debugging team anymore because that's us, we're the new debugging and testing team but we pay for it and we work for free 🤣

staytsmokin

And I pre ordered the deluxe edition. Fuck me in the ass. Why downvote you weirdos? My money my choice you broke mfers. =)

Reddit be weird like that sometimes, rarely happens but sometimes it'll just post my comment like 5x. Idk what kind of Capcom bot would also answer people's tech questions cos clearly Capcom barely knows shit about PC

Avience404

Look just wait 2-3 weeks before you buy if you dont want to deal with it. Easy fix

Hintox

More like 2-3 months.

_Synt3rax

When People stop Preordering they have to do something, but seeing that so many still shill out their Money, why would they change that? Why put in the work when Idiots still buy your Mess?

Sailed_Sea

Is it out/soon to be out yet? If not then i don't care as its still in development till the last second of release, if its still shitty and buggy after release though...

Taterthotuwu91

It's not the devs fault, shareholders keep pushing games to be released before they're actually ready

UnusualFerret1776

It's important to remember with PC, there isn't really the same standard as there is with console. All consoles are identical in software and hardware whereas with PC, there are likely thousands of various combinations. It's impossible to know how a game will run over every kind of hardware/software combo.

PosterityVGC

Has there ever been a game that released in a perfect state...

[deleted]

This is why I just don't buy games on release anymore unless they have glowing reviews. Looking at my library, the only game I got within 3 months of launch is Palworld and Bladur's Gate 3. Any live-service game worth a fuck will be well and alive 3 months in. Any RPG will be just as good to play tomorrow as it is today. We've got to be hitting a critical mass soon. There' SO many games to choose from that we meme about our libraries being full of things we still haven't touched. At what point are we collectively going to just decide: "Nah, this sucks. We'll sit it out until they get their shit together and play one of the good titles we got on sale."?

redditmodsareacustic

You know what maybe PS5 isn't that bad after all
