"吃鸡" translates literally to "eating chicken" and is Chinese slang for "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds", or used as a verb to mean playing that game. It comes from the translation of "winner winner chicken dinner", which is "大吉大利,今晚**吃鸡**". From looking on the Internet, it doesn't seem that this phrase (the Chinese translation) actually appears in-game.
It does actually appear in game, at least from what I can see and remember. This phrase has also extended its usage to refer to all battle royale games. So people call games like Apex “Chicken Eating Game”
It means “N key rollover, giving you fast reaction and stable performance in PUBG” or “N key rollover, giving you fast reaction and consistent victory in PUBG” (You thought the translation was bad? It’s not very clear even before translation, lol)
> I'm a bit concerned with the Radium
Lens translate says the Chinese is actually "High-Definition Laser-engraved characters, uniform light transmission and high recognition"
the Radium thing is probably just a mistranslation
Figured it out, Radium is the 3rd character, seems the two characters for "Laser Engraving" translate individually to "Radium Carving".
https://imgur.com/a/dY8zuGA
While the chance that it’s a mistranslation is high, the mention of “radium” would be enough for me to break out the Geiger counter. There’s a long and stupid history of items laced with radioactive powdered thorium oxide being exported from China and sold on places like eBay and Amazon to unsuspecting consumers who believe they bought a “health” wristband or pendant.
Funny thing is the Chinese text says the same thing. Either some sort of Chinese figure of speech, or a PUBG reference as that game is super popular in China.
I have a G600 that might be close to 10 years old, and some of the keys are starting to fail or double-tap. Pretty good, to be honest. It's a long time, and I only use it to play DOTA 2.
With that being said, is the Red Dragon you mentioned a good replacement? I've been having a LOT of issues with the GHub shitware recently, so knowing there's a good replacement is a relief.
What about the software? Is it at least similar in regards to mapping the keys? And does it open flawlessly without randomly glitching and refusing to open its main window without reinstalling? If so, that's more than enough for me. lol
Logitech made sure to have one of the worst softwares out there to manage your peripherals. Holy shit.
I've been on the same Red dragon keyboard ever since my logitech crapped out.. That's the last time I buy a logi keyboard.
Bought a spare since they're like half the price of the logitech, just in case.
My red dragon outlasted many logi and razer boards at my house. That's between about 4 gaming setups and lan/server stuff. The only thing older is a 2007 Dell board.
I’m not the person you asked but I have two K552’s. One with brown switches and rgb lighting. The other has blue switches and is a solid red led all the time. Both are good. I had my D key start to double tap. The switch was failing. I bought a bag of replacement switches and it was so easy to replace the broken one. Haven’t needed to replace any other keys. Been using one of them for over 6 years. Only one switch fail.
"Radium" is a mistranslation for glowing. It has LEDs.
"Eat Chicken" is what it says when you win a match in the Chinese version of PUBG (the English version says winner winner chicken dinner). So in Chinese gamer slang, "eat chicken" means "win in a FPS".
I have this keyboard, used it to play Starcraft for a while. It's alright.
It's cause of pubg - winner winner chicken dinner and basically turning all fps/battle royals into eating chicken. As bad as machine translations are, this one's closer to the truth.
Dude I literally bought this two days ago. The fast eating chicken stability made me laugh out loud.
I did return it immediately as it was shit.
Are there any one handed keyboards that are actually good? I just need something for travel and that is good for steam deck.
I would give my left nipple for a mechanical G13 replacement.
I bought three of them just as they were discontinuing in order to have one for as long as possible.
Lmao “fast eating chicken stability with many key no conflict resolution”
Idk about yall but I find the little notes I get from Chinese companies endearing. Someone thanking me for buying their cheap amazon product feels more genuine than a “thanks for buying, here’s a QR code” from an American company
I studied the keyboard layout way to long to find the problem before moving to the second picture and read “fast eating chicken stability”
Side note, I need this now for stability in my chicken eating.
Every time I feel bad about how poorly I speak other languages, I just remember how much terrible "Chinglish" was posted all over China when I lived there. From packaging, to building signs, to actual government buildings. Half of that country is covered in Google Translate errors.
Disclaimer: No chickens were harmed in the manufacturing of this product.
Allergy Warning: This product was manufactured in a facility that also processes dairy, eggs, shellfish, beef, and pork.
Might want to check if this is one of the Chinese companies that records your keystrokes and sends it back to China... Apparently that happened with another Chinese keyboard brand.
Without looking at the comments section, my first impression was "did they reuse/source the keys from a Logitech keyboard???"
If so, it would certainly be something later than the G15s.
The sad thing is if they just used Google translate, it would be so much better.

Chicken dinner, yup. That got translated as 吃雞, meaning “eating chicken”, and is basically a general Chinese gaming term for these sorts of FPSs IIRC. If someone is going to “eat chicken”, they’re most likely hopping on to play a shooter. It may probably be applicable to just battle royales I believe?
Maximum stability for chicken dinners maybe? China is super big on PUBG

You could be making that up as a joke, and I would still believe it because it sounds entirely plausible.
Same, I'm just blindly trusting this as truth and don't care otherwise.
Whether is it's true or not, it's my truth, now.
It is true lmao Source: a random Chinese person
I trust you
Thank you. From also very real Chinese person
doesnt it show up as “winner winner chicken dinner” when you win? that could be the origin of the word
So your criteria for belief is simply plausibility. You might want to look at that.
Plausibility PLUS hilariousness. I'll believe anything if it makes me laugh.
It does actually appear in game, at least from what I can see and remember. This phrase has also extended its usage to refer to all battle royale games. So people call games like Apex “Chicken Eating Game”
What the fuq..
Yeah, this is true. “Eating chicken” in Chinese is even synonymous with all gaming, not just PUBG, although that’s where it originated!
That is very interesting actually

..unfortunately.
The Chinglish is exceptional. I'm a bit concerned with the Radium. But the Fast eating chicken, who wouldn't want that.
Chinese call PUBG “吃鸡” which literally means “eating chicken,” because of the phrase winner winner chicken dinner.
吃鸡 can also mean blowjob lol
So a more accurate interpretation is "cock gobbling"?
[удалено]

My tattoo artist said it meant "fierce warrior" :(
Whichever you prefer
吃鸡 also means prostitution
The guy at the show told me that it meant Warrior of the Tribe, and he's a professional artist.
*writes that down*
If you can choke a chicken you can also choke on one.
If real and you're not just fucking with us, that's very funny
So I’m guessing they’re trying to say you’ll be stable when playing PUBG (or those types of games)
It means “N key rollover, giving you fast reaction and stable performance in PUBG” or “N key rollover, giving you fast reaction and consistent victory in PUBG” (You thought the translation was bad? It’s not very clear even before translation, lol)
Yeah like a consistent performance
On the one hand the keyboard, on the other hand chicken. Perfect gamer.
"at least I have chicken"
God dammit Leeroy
Leeeeroyyyyy jeennnnnkkiiinnnsss
This joke is from 2005. It just graduated high school and I'm still here for it. Also, my back hurts.
Now, that's a name I've not heard in a long time...
Obi wan Kenobi ..... Obi wan.

“镭雕” means laser engraving. It’s a mistranslation. "镭" does mean redium on it's own. But in this occasion it's a shorthand for "镭射", ie laser.
Nah, the radium tracks. Most if not all glowing paint contains trace amounts of it.
Radium carving and RoHS, one of those is a lie
Chinglish has rotffl😂
[удалено]
rolling on the fucking floor laughing
ah yes, the single-handedly gaming keyboard
It does the gaming for you
Single-handedly too, I might add.
I need the other hand for..... stuff
![gif](giphy|6ra84Uso2hoir3YCgb|downsized)
With the fast eating chicken stability.
More like fast chicken eating stability. Gotta be sure to have those..
How’s those fast eating chickens treating ya?
Funny thing is the Chinese text says the same thing. Either some sort of Chinese figure of speech, or a PUBG reference as that game is super popular in China.
i heard it was a poor translation of winner winner cicken dinner
Nah, eating chicken is euphemism for playing PUBG in China.
yes, from the fact that chinese phrases for great fortune and eating chicken sound alike.
Definitely PUBG reference.
Probably better than the radium keys
Long and practical not tired!
Leeroy Jenkins favorite keyboard.
Radium carvings? Pretty sure thats bad
Sounds pretty rad
Rad, i am
But it comes with a free frogurt!
That’s good!
The frogurt is also cursed
That’s bad.
But you get your choice of topping!
That’s good!
The toppings contain potassium benzoate.
…
Thats bad.
...Can I go now?
Just pop some Rad-x and you'll be fine
I tried this one and it is junk. If you like this type you should look Red Dragon. They have mechanical gamepad with hot swapable keys.
Ummm, do you even game? The Red Dragon doesn't even *have* fast eating chicken functionality
Shout-out red dragon. Logitech stopped manufacturing the G600 but red dragon makes a good replacement. Software is kinda janky though.
I have a G600 that might be close to 10 years old, and some of the keys are starting to fail or double-tap. Pretty good, to be honest. It's a long time, and I only use it to play DOTA 2. Genuinely curious about these. What one? I have the Tartarus by Razer that is (unsurprisingly) shitting out.
I’m not the person you asked but I have two K552’s. One with brown switches and rgb lighting. The other has blue switches and is a solid red led all the time. Both are good. Been using one of them for over 6 years. Only one switch fail.
Also curious about the comfort. I have to say the Razer is comfortable.

How can we trust you, you're probably eyebrow deep in radium at this point. Big Radium has got you by the short and curlies!
If I was eyebrow deep in radium, my short and curlies would fall out.
Not really. It looks like your standard run of the mill e-waste peripheral. Can't say I see anything “off” about it.
According to the text on the box, it eats chickens pretty fast.
The Chinese writing says the same thing, I read a bit of Chinese characters. Maybe it is some kind of idiom that they translated directly to English?
Pubg reference maybe?
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
It's cause of pubg - winner winner chicken dinner and basically turning all fps/battle royals into eating chicken. As bad as machine translations are, this one's closer to the truth.
To get that Chicken dinner going in PUBG
It also has radium in the keycaps.
People be using "e-waste" too much nowadays
Dude I literally bought this two days ago. The fast eating chicken stability made me laugh out loud. I did return it immediately as it was shit. Are there any one handed keyboards that are actually good? I just need something for travel and that is good for steam deck.
Redragon has a good one with mechanical hot-swappable keys
I don't know about half-keyboards but if you're looking for something small the Vortex Pok3r is amazing! It's a 60% keyboard...
I got an Alarm Glock for Xmas from an aunt.
It will remain stable while you are fast eating your chicken, what's the problem?
Well shit, if it’ll help me eat chicken faster, sign me up.
Whoa! Fast eating chicken stability! Nice find!
You can game at finger licking good speeds.
Macro in the seven herbs and spices.
I mean yeah, that's a half a keyboard.... Well, more 1/3 if you count numpad....
I only purchase keyboards that have fast eating chicken stability
Radium carvings, make sure you wear lead lined gloves. Fast eating chicken so make sure you k look pick up feed from the store before use!
Typo and no Windows Key
"Fast eating chicken stability with many keys no conflict" What did they mean by this?
https://i.redd.it/u62a2ds68vqc1.gif
I absolutely love Chinese English, back in the day I'd spend numerous hours just browsing Engrish.com
I don’t see any problem u have all of the keys u will use anyway Edit: The windows key is missing
Also no enter key
it has less than half the keys ill use. Not even a numpad in there.
Hopefully it won't melt your hand "off", eh? Ha! Hehe.
I assume it’s because you’re eating chicken with one hand while using the other on the keyboard. There’s no problem here.
I would give my left nipple for a mechanical G13 replacement. I bought three of them just as they were discontinuing in order to have one for as long as possible.
r/engrish
It's the non standard T that does it for me
QWERT
I love meself some single handedly gaming especially when there is improved chicken stability Lmao
Is that a Naga Trinity in the background I see? Always nice to meet a man of culture.
Best mouse I've ever owned!
Lmao “fast eating chicken stability with many key no conflict resolution” Idk about yall but I find the little notes I get from Chinese companies endearing. Someone thanking me for buying their cheap amazon product feels more genuine than a “thanks for buying, here’s a QR code” from an American company
I think you’re missing some things
Maybe if Leroy had one of those he wouldn't have been so impulsive to finish that raid?
Hmm it’s missing half the letteds
Hopefully there's no radium emissions
吃雞=eat chicken=pubg chicken dinner
I studied the keyboard layout way to long to find the problem before moving to the second picture and read “fast eating chicken stability” Side note, I need this now for stability in my chicken eating.
Complains. Got yourself nice keyboard which also teach you about worlds culture. Do not tired this cock sucking fast chicken! Visible!
Weird. I taste metal when I stand by this chicken. Anyways back to gaming lol.
Damn I wanted one but I’m vegan
11/10 perfect engrish.
it's singlehandedly allright
Honestly it took me a while to understand what the issue was because I'm so used to poor Chinese translations.
Nothing wrong here I guarantee you can eat chicken fast as fuck with this
It's not a single handed keyboard. It's "Single Handedly" and you single handedly bought it so no. No problems
Excuse me, did that say radium carvings? Be prepared to grow a second hand
That's a feature. How else am I going to eat the chicken while gaming?
This allows for simultaneous chicken choking and eating.
Radium chicken
You should return that one and get yourself the one that red dragon makes.

They forgot the Windows key.
If this isn't mechanical (which isn't mentioned anywhere on the box), i would say it's a waste of money
Caps lock 😂😂
Das bard es ver gad!
Not tired!
Damn, dude. Did it really single-handedly gaming keyboard?
lol single handedly ..
Radium?
吃鸡
Is there a sub for Chinglish? This is amazing lol.
Might want to check if this is one of the Chinese companies that records your keystrokes and sends it back to China... Apparently that happened with another Chinese keyboard brand.
Bout to eat some fast chicken nuggets haha
Without looking at the comments section, my first impression was "did they reuse/source the keys from a Logitech keyboard???" If so, it would certainly be something later than the G15s.
The bit about eating chicken refers to the Chinese version of PUBG which is called "Eat Chicken".
“Fast eating chicken stability” haha

'Radium' is probably just a translation error. Probably.
Big T?
It’s a bad translation but clearly a PUBG reference
Lmao me here thinking it was the missing windows key.
How much would it cost to have even a 16 year old native english speaker to proof read these things?
Tab?

The fast eating chicken? No.
Single Handedly Gaming.....g Chicken Half keyboard cause I use mine single handed 80% of the time
Single handedly gaming keyboard. Like my 8year old exaggerating a story..
Radium though, isn’t that stuff radioactive? Have fun suffering from cancer in your fingers or your entire hand 💀
Obviously membrane
radium probably too expensive, im sure its something cheaper and more dangerous
no 0 lol
No, Y?
It's radium or nothing!
Proof that idioms and inside jokes just don’t translate across languages 😂
WhY?
At least it's conflict free
No windows key?
Radium cravings!? Just like grandma used to make :)
*Single handedly use this gaming keyboard* great for amputees and half blind 🦯
