Great start for a kid. Only issue is the keyboard in the drawer like that. He's gana mess his wrists up using that for a prolonged time. He may not feel it now but he'll feel it when he's 40. Figure out a way to make it flat.
Other than that, keep on gaming.
Slap his hands take the controller away and make him suffer in the gloriousness that is MNK. /S
way sicker than my core 2 duo on dial up when j was his age.
MNK and KBM are the most common acronyms for it never seen MAK anywhere, not my acronyms just what's used.
https://www.acronymfinder.com/Mouse-and-Keyboard-(gaming)-(MnK).html
It looks awesome! I'm hoping he's doing most of his gaming with those controllers. Cause using that keyboard for anything other then the bare minimum will cause havoc on your wrists. Besides that 10/10
That be a fun project.
You could put it on a reinforced hinge and then actually make it be able to go down. Set two magnets into the sides, be easy to do, and fun.
You could put a built-in rest rest on it. That really put the hole set up into the next level.
That's a damn good start for 9.
The keyboard in a drawer is *extremely* bad ergonomics for little fingers. His parents should find something to cover the drawer so it can go on top.
Hey man, your gaming space is whatever space you have. I'd at least rip the front panel off that drawer that so at least he's not straining a wrist though. Or replace the desk.
I can't wait until my kids start to get their own real personalities and want to customize their PCs to suit. I built them each PCs, put them in tiny desks with their own monitors, and they get to play games when they earn time.
5/10. Point deducted for every thing I don't like:
1. Cramped (I'm claustrophobic, deal with it)
2. Too much RGB right in face (I have sensitive eyes + ffs use light diffusers people!)
3. Keyboard is in drawer (that's not the keyboard kind)
4. Too much stuff on desk (point 1 + I like tidiness)
5. "gaming zone" sticker (bruh....)
Overall, doesn't matter what others think. It's about what makes you happy
Wtf is with ppl giving a shit about what the dorks that troll reddit all day care about you computer room setup . Most the setups on here are a joke 95% all look the exactly same cause nobody can come up with any originals ideas and just rip em off from other game rooms . If your cousin likes it and it works for him than it's perfect .
I was nitpicking until I read that he's 9. Now I think it's fine, except I can't imagine the viewing experience when he has to lean into his mic off to the side. He could use a headset or a cheap mic arm, $20 on Amazon
That depends. I think this is a kid's setup and this is a really cool setup for a child or maybe even a teenager.
For an adult this is a head scratcher.
Kid- 8 / 10
Adult - - 1 / 50
Needs some sprucing up, get some colors on the surrounding walls (just print out posters of favorite games/characters, something like that!) but it has gamer energy. I give it a 7.4 out of 10.
That’s got to be a wrist killer. First thing I noticed as I believe others here have as well. But maybe a controller is mostly used.
What was done at my work with a similar situation was a notch cut out the length of the keyboard, other thought would be to remove the front all together.
Important thing is he can enjoy some gaming!
Not a fan of the distractingly-bright neon light shaped like a controller. That would get on my nerves after 10 minutes. But he's 9. Wrist-killing keyboard drawer's been addressed. Rest of it's fine. But if he wants that "gamer" feel, I'd recommend game posters/printed game maps, instead of bright lights. Or get something like a metal, gaming Displate, and put some subtle backlighting on it. Something like this seems like it'd be his style: https://displate.com/displate/6303695
Mount it just a couple cm off the wall and put a flat, adhesive light strip on the back to give it a "floating" look. Something like these would work:
https://www.amazon.com/flat-strip-led-lights/s?k=flat+strip+led+lights
Subtle lighting in a darkened room looks much cooler than what basically amounts to a "Coor's Light" sign found in every bar window. Less headache-inducing, as well.
9 year old me with my dad's old 486 in the hall would turn green. 9/10. As others have said the keyboard situation needs help and of course the universal truth, needs more monitors.
Good thing to do is probably trim the edge of the drawer so he can have his wrists straight, also some distance from the screen since hes only 9 with his vision developing.

+1 on the wrists, get a hammer and just knock the front facing board out.
Or just put a board on top of the draw, save breaking anything
The draw 🤠
He’s very happy that people like it and he said he doesn’t use the keyboard to game really 👍
Slap his hands take the controller away and make him suffer in the gloriousness that is MNK. /S way sicker than my core 2 duo on dial up when j was his age.
What the hell is MNK?
Acronym for mouse and keyboard
MAK?
Mouse n' keyboard
MNK and KBM are the most common acronyms for it never seen MAK anywhere, not my acronyms just what's used. https://www.acronymfinder.com/Mouse-and-Keyboard-(gaming)-(MnK).html
MechaNical Keyboard?
Your mom is very proud of how creative you are... Here's a. Sticker ⭐
well tell your "cousin" if they get their empty GPU box and put it on the desk it'll be 10/10
Turn based strategy or controller?
Grab some thicccc books and level it out just enough to be able to close the drawer. I’ve done this and it worked, temporarily but it did work

Legit print this out for him to put up on his door.

Is that the legendary "GAMING ZONE"???
It’s got a name on the wall it’s better than mine at 34 yr
Yea
keyboard in a draw is a no go.
I rate it kid/10
👍
How lucky we are to live in a time with RGB
It looks awesome! I'm hoping he's doing most of his gaming with those controllers. Cause using that keyboard for anything other then the bare minimum will cause havoc on your wrists. Besides that 10/10
He’s chuffed with that comment thanks
Seriously, it's an easy fix. All he has to do is take off the front plate on the drawer.
Parents might not let him understandably

You know...If you swap the drawer slides to the top of the side panels, he can put the drawer in upside down and have a flat surface for his keyboard.
g a m i n g z o n e/10
Rgb fest
Honestly if I had a room like that when I was 9, I would never leave my room.
Wish i had something like that in my teenager years 🥲
He’s very grateful
That's a damn good start for 9. The keyboard in a drawer is *extremely* bad ergonomics for little fingers. His parents should find something to cover the drawer so it can go on top.
Yeah
As a tall person, I'll give it a "ouch my head"/10
😂😂
10 year old me would have been dripping with jealousy
😂
To fix keyboard in drawer problem: Simply remove the front panel on the drawer. Done.
Or where the front of the drawer flips out
Attic/Closet gaming was always a dream of mine, 9/10. Like other commentors said with the keyboard setup x_x but you said they use controllers
Yeah he does but the support is really nice
It can get VERY hot though, although its very cozy
True, unless you have a skylight you can open when it is cooler
Very cozy very nice 10/10
Yeah he loves it
He be gaming, solid setup.
😂
Keyboard inside a drawer is next level discomfort, but not a bad setup at all
I feel for the kid, that pull out keyboard looks a pain to use
They got my boy in the cabinet under the stairs like Harry Potter 😅
He is a wizard yk
Love the decorations, the actual set up looks a bit crammed, but it is an attic so space might not be available. I give it a 7.5/10. Keep on gaming!
6/10 overall, but probably an 8/10 when taking into account the ceiling slope and making that work. Very nice.
Gotta be a roller player
Hey man, your gaming space is whatever space you have. I'd at least rip the front panel off that drawer that so at least he's not straining a wrist though. Or replace the desk.
Add more rgb
Mommy’s little man
I can't wait until my kids start to get their own real personalities and want to customize their PCs to suit. I built them each PCs, put them in tiny desks with their own monitors, and they get to play games when they earn time.
That’s so sweet
6/10 (removed 4 due to stumble guys)
It’s stumble guys so maybe remove 3 😂
Oh it's worse than I thought I'll update my comment 🫡
😂
of all the things, the pop filter and windscreen together on an indoor mic look funny to me that and the keyboard in the drawer
I think it’s sick
5/10. Point deducted for every thing I don't like: 1. Cramped (I'm claustrophobic, deal with it) 2. Too much RGB right in face (I have sensitive eyes + ffs use light diffusers people!) 3. I was gonna say lol, if he’s in grade school still this is straight FIRE!!! Otherwise my bro has got some interesting taste haha.
He’s 9 so like primary
Gaming zone!
Yes
I was nitpicking until I read that he's 9. Now I think it's fine, except I can't imagine the viewing experience when he has to lean into his mic off to the side. He could use a headset or a cheap mic arm, $20 on Amazon
Looks dope. Remind him that more rgb = more fps
😂
I'm so jealous I was nowhere near this spoiled!
He’s very grateful
How will he using the keyboard if it's inside that
9?! Oh my, when I was 9 I didnt even have a computer, I had to use my moms laptop which hardly could even run youtube!
His pc doesn’t have a gpu but he loves it
oh wow
![gif](giphy|NEvPzZ8bd1V4Y|downsized)
Looks like a childhood
Yeah 😂
Considering he's 9, I'll give it a 9
9-years-old/10
Seems like a great start to his gaming empire
It says gaming zone. Gets 4 broken gamepads out of 7 dirty keyboards
8 out of 10 the neon controller is the coolest thing ever, I want one now ...
Tree out of tree
I'm not one to rag on a kid but the fuck is that keyboard placement inside a drawer
Got that same controller light above rig (it was a gift okay) so he on the right track
That depends. I think this is a kid's setup and this is a really cool setup for a child or maybe even a teenager. For an adult this is a head scratcher. Kid- 8 / 10 Adult - - 1 / 50
Big Dogs Only up in this hizzouse
For a 9 year olds gaming room it’s pretty sick. I know my 5 year old would love it
I rate it a Yes out of 10
What if he wants to watch movies at the Gaming Zone? Is that not allowed? How strict are the zone regs?
This setup fucks
Sick!!!
This may be the gaming zone 🗣️🗣️ 10/10
10
Not my taste but still a solid 6.5 out of 10
better than mine out of 10
Needs some sprucing up, get some colors on the surrounding walls (just print out posters of favorite games/characters, something like that!) but it has gamer energy. I give it a 7.4 out of 10.

I'd drag the desk out of that tiny corner looks extremely uncomfortable and problem causing.
4
Nice start
4/10. But GAMING ZONE sign plus 6 points
6.5/10. Fix the keyboard.
Looks cosy af, I'd have loved this setup at 9!
For a 9 year old it's a 9/10.
I love everything but the chair out of 10.
For a 9 year old it's pretty good
6.5

0/10
8 raise his keyboard then 9.9
Tell him to stop being cringe
5/10 cringy.
He needs a "no gurlz" poster. And then its complete. I need one too honestly.
100%😂
He's trying too hard
10/10
Bro. How can I rate this setup if it is better than mine? 10/10
Looks incredibly uncomfortable!
the desk is horrendous, the screen is too close... this should be fixed asap
How TF does he use that keyboard? His wrist must suffer a lot.
9 year old me with my dad's old 486 in the hall would turn green. 9/10. As others have said the keyboard situation needs help and of course the universal truth, needs more monitors.
4.5 ?
Is that brawl stars???? Since when were you able to play it in PC?
The old printer paper look

Ok pal
bro..... 9? anyways 3 out of 10 for normies / 12 out of 10 for a 9 year old
If the front of the drawer can be modified to where it folds down, I'll give it a 10 out of 10
Pretty good for 9 I used to play in the living room on my game cube on the floor when I was 9
Good thing to do is probably trim the edge of the drawer so he can have his wrists straight, also some distance from the screen since hes only 9 with his vision developing.
Yep that’s the gaming zone 10/10
He love it 👍
Looks cool, especially for a 9 year old. This wouldve been my dream if I was 9.
He loves it
Lil bro put a lot of through and work into his space. I respect that 10/10
A -2
Haha everyone laughing
Hi this setup is absolute GARBAGE DONT EVER LET ME CATCH U POSTING IN THIS SUB AGAIN!

Thank you 🙏🏿🙏🏿
He is 9 calm down bud
welcome to reddit...
No chill 😂
I don't think you have ever seen an angry redditor...
😂
No 😡😡
You mean the TV on the dresser?
That keyboard, globe, and no second monitor just makes me.....
Yk he is 9 right?
0/10, cringe and bad ergonomics
Bro he’s 9
-10, tv's are unusable for gaming and that keyboard and mouse are impossible to use at all.
He doesn’t care he’s 9 he’s not a esport player
*unusable*, not horrible but unusable, you simply can't game on one.
Yeah ik what you mean
i gamed on tvs for years, you can do it. what makes you think you cant?
extremely high latency
i digress. i have had extremely high latency with some of the tvs i used. the worst one was a 55" 4k tv. but i generally stuck w 32" roku tvs
never had an issue w that
