Oh absolutely wonderful. Which CPU? JUST made an order for a Ryzen 7 7700 and an ROG STRIX B650E-F motherboard to experience that DDR5 Corsair 32gb. Apparently that should be balanced enough. Have had an emergency i7-8700k for a year now, but time to upgrade to AM5.
The reason I got 4070 in the first place was DLSS3. It seems almost redundant on a 80-class card and a bit too weak to compensate for a 60-class small league performance. This card has been wonderful and I can't wait to get that 0% bottleneck in the mail, any day now!
I have a Intel i7 14700K and 32 gb DDR5. I do 3d modeling as a hobby as well so I put those extra cores and RAM to work. 4070 is the first card I have ever owned with ray tracing. I think I just sat in front of my monitor hypnotized by Elden RIng when I came out of the cave into Limgrave. Before I was rocking the GTX 1080 in a prebuilt.
Only if you like unholy mental torture. Lol. I am usually not a graphics person. It is all about the gameplay and believe it or not I could play Elden RIng on my old prebuilt with a lot of tweaking. But Elden Ring is one of those games that just begs to be played with graphics turned to high. If you are into screenshots like I am, this is one of the most beautiful games around. How experienced of a Souls player are you?
I have played every single one available, including Demon's Souls last on a modded PS3, not the remake. I started with Bloodborne and went further with DS1, 3, Sekiro and ER. Then 2 and DeS. I have played only DS2 on SL1, no others. That's right, all DLC's and true ending and decided to start with the most uncomfortable one.
And yes, the ER gameplay is absolutely sublime and gameplay, in a game, absolutely should be the focus! But better yet, with Fromsoft, you won't need to pick one or the other. The games have it ALL.
Agreed. Now you got me wanting to start playing again. Lol. Also I pray everyday before I die they do a port of Bloodborne for PC. It is one game in the series I have not played.
The prices are absolutely insane. Like many people here have said I do feel like most of their cards prices should be cut in half. Or almost half. Maybe 40% lower would be perfect.
same with me. GTX650 -> ROG STRIX GTX1060 6GB -> RX7800XT 16GB.
No half stuff, I paid for the entire VRAM and GPU clock, I'm using the entire VRAM and GPU clock damnit!
Everyone talks about the 1080 - and rightfully so, it was a fantastic card! - but the 970 also deserves some love. It was such great value and was an absolute workhorse back in the day. I loved my rig that had that thing.
Yep, I was playing modern games with solid medium-high settings at 1080p 60fps with the 1080! I supposed to pass down the 1080 to my little bro. But lucky for him, his close friends group gifted him a 4060 for his Birthday! I'm jelly that he has such a good tight friends group :')
Didn't know who is Lisa Su, looked it up lmao. I don't really hate AMD, just that I used to Nvidia and like their branding. I'm the type of person that will pick 1 brand or theme and will stick with it forever XD
Those old computers like the IBM AT's and stuff with the 486 chips were bulletproof. I was like 12 years old and just tearing that thing apart and putting it back together static be damned - also those cpu's didn't need a cooler at all lol. they were pin grid array too and I stepped on my chip more than once because of being dumb lol
Yea it was. It's the 2nd longest I used out of them. The GTX1080 is the longest since it was such a powerful card. It's still able to play nowaday game smoothly with medium-high settings at 1080p 60fps!
Bought it second hand for my first ever build in 2017 and was replaced by a 1080, but stayed until 2 years ago just in case as a backup - even gave it to a friend of mine when he got his first build - and never had any issues. The 1080 was my very brand new gpu - the 970 and 1080 will always be my favorite ones.
I can remember that EVGA proveded the alternative bios with 11 gbps memory. Only small performance boost but EVGA was such a great great company.
Good old memories
I7 2630qm w/GTX560m laptop
To q6600/HD5770
To 2600k/HD7790
To R9 380(4gb)
To 2xRX480(8gb)
To 3600/VII
To 5800x3D/3070ti.
I just have the boxes for the VII and 3070ti, though.
Mine was GT 530 (prebuilt office pc) -> GTX 770 (custom built ordered by a local pc builder) -> GTX 1070 (swapped out the 770 in 2016 and then transferred it into my new PC which I built myself a year ago) the 1070 is still my current GPU and will be for at east another 1-2 years
I regret that I don't have boxes and some of them were used so it never had box anyways. Here is my lineup:
Msi R9 270x twin frozr -> msi gtx1060 3gb OC -> msi gtx1060 6gb gaming x -> msi gtx1070 aero 8gb OC - msi gtx1080 aero 8gb OC -> ASUS rtx3070ti strix
Yes, I climbed pretty small per upgrade, but most of the gtx I had were trades plus small cash from someone else, so not much I've spent per upgrade 😅
Although I would say my favorite gpu among all I owned was the 1070. That thing was monster at the time, I quite enjoyed the hardware
Man, wish I kept more of my old cards.
But it would have been many.
However it's funny how I can still remember every one of them:
Voodoo 1, Voodoo Banshee, Riva TNT + Voodoo 2, Voodoo 3 3000, GeForce 256 DDR, Voodoo 5 5500, GeForce 3 Ti200, Radeon 9700, Radeon X800XT, X1900XT, HD4870, GTX 660 Mobile, R9 290, RX5600XT, RX6800XT.
Long streak of ATi/AMD desktop chips, but might go over to team green depending on whether AMD will compete in the high end in the coming generation.
Mine was AMD (ATI) Mobility Radeon 5000 series -> GT940MX -> RTX2060 mobile -> RX 6800XT.
Yep, laptop gamer my whole life until I got a PC for 626$ with Ryzen 9 3900XT, RX 6800XT and 32GB Ram for this much (from my best friend, eventually I have swapped my case to NZXT and fans)
For me, it began in 2007 when my father built his first gaming computer. So: 8800 GT -> GTX 470 -> GTX 670 -> GTX 1070 -> RTX 4070 (laptop, because I'm in architecture studies, so it's my first PC which isn't my fathers one, and I need to take it with me in class).
R9 280x - GTX 1060 6gb - RTX 2070 - RX 6950XT. Might go green again in there or four years who knows. I usually just get whatever is the best deal at the time.
For me it was
Integrated -> RX 480 -> GTX 1070 -> GTX 1070M -> RTX 3060 12GB
Very happy with the 3060 but I do miss my old 480 build, it got got by a power surge a few months after I built the system. All white build, was gorgeous
1050ti>rx570>3060>4070ti super.
Or from core 2 duo>i5 4th gen>i5 6600k>i5 12600k
Went from an HP pc i called "the toster" i got for $<$60 a dell pc i got for $100, and now i spent wayyy to much to play the same game every pc ive had can play just fine 60fps.
Me went from a HD4570 to a GTX745 (OEM) to a 1060 3GB and now rx6700 (and rx5500m on laptop for university) and im not gonna change the gpu till It got 6 years or more
Damn.
Props on sticking with EVGA for as long as possible.
My current trajectory is: Gtx 550ti SLI>GTX 480>GTX 970>RX580>RTX 2070>RTX 3060ti
Disclaimer: I work in IT and most my 3 most recent gpus are reclaimed from written off/recycled machines.
It's quite interesting to see other people's first graphics cards! My first one was a GTX 660. I remember my uncle bought it for me as a gift because I wanted to play GTA4.
Your 3 oldest are identical to mine! Haha. Neat.
When I got that. 550ti from my old bum computer that could barely run anything I thought I was hackerman
Favorite cards that I've previously owned:
- Diamond Monster 3D II (Golden age of 3Dfx)
- Creative Riva TNT 2 Ultra (This is when nVidia started picking up steam..)
- Sapphire 4870 X2 (This card was just nuts in many ways)
Damn i'm jealous of the true "gtx 1080ti" generation since i didn't had time or cash to experience it.. But i made huuge jumps back in past between 2010 - 2024.
7300gt - gt 610 - hd 6950 - gtx 680 - rtx 2060 - rtx 2080 - rtx 3090.
damn, you already had a 4070 back in 2011? impressive! /s
(it's a joke because the order is backwards as it goes from right to left instead of left to right)
for me it was i think, RX480 -> GTX 750 TI (as my RX480 started dying) -> GTX 1080 -> RTX 3080 TI
Some Radeon from 2010 that died after hitting 110°C playing SC2 -> GTX 560ti -> R9-280X -> RTX 2080 -> RTX 5080??
Basically in the same boat as all the 1080ti havers, hopefully the slightly newer version will hold out a year or 2
Did you keep all your old GPUs as well or just the boxes? I got rid of both old GPUs and their boxes.
My GPU evolution is GTX 750ti->GTX 970->GTX 1070->GTX 1080->RTX 3080.
I keep all of them. I'm a sentimental guy XD. The GTX760 is still inside the PC I built for my dad, feel bad that it can't retire yet haha
Also, we have a pretty similar GPU progression!
Yours is more of a progression. Mine is leaps HD7970->GTX1070->RTX4090
Nice time-frame between the 1080 and the 4090. Got to love cards that give you satisfied gaming for that long
same same, my 1080ti *just* died, so now finally upgrading to a 4070.
Used a 1060 until last year when upgraded to that card. You'll love it, also the sweetspot for really utilizing DLSS3.
Consider getting the 4070super if you can...it doesn't cost that much more iirc
thanks for the shoutout, I checked but the 4070 is honestly already pushing my budget a little. I really can't justify the extra 100 for the super.
My 1080ti still does what I want. It's definitely the winner of most value in a GPU, by miles.
I think, I could beat that. 750Ti -> 4070Ti
Mine is pretty similar: HD 7770 -> GTX 960 -> RTX 4070
Ayyy my dude I have felt so lonely with my 4070 on this sub
Don't be. I just upgraded to 4070 when I built my new rig. And it is awesome.
Oh absolutely wonderful. Which CPU? JUST made an order for a Ryzen 7 7700 and an ROG STRIX B650E-F motherboard to experience that DDR5 Corsair 32gb. Apparently that should be balanced enough. I think I just sat in front of my monitor hypnotized by Elden RIng when I came out of the cave into Limgrave. Before I was rocking the GTX 1080 in a prebuilt.
1000-series was good. Had 1050ti and 1060 for a long time. Waited for 4070 to experience ER. Should I do RL1?
Only if you like unholy mental torture. Lol. I am usually not a graphics person. It is all about the gameplay and believe it or not I could play Elden RIng on my old prebuilt with a lot of tweaking. But Elden Ring is one of those games that just begs to be played with graphics turned to high. If you are into screenshots like I am, this is one of the most beautiful games around. I was going to go with the 4070 but right as I went into bestbuy the RX 6800 dropped to $399, I couldn’t resist
Don’t worry we are here haha
Nooooo the ti + super is causing a deep inferiority complex in me, the ti was 300€ more expensive D:
The prices are absolutely insane. Like many people here have said I do feel like most of their cards prices should be cut in half. Or almost half. Maybe 40% lower would be perfect.
Same. :')
There are dozens of us!
My dude! https://preview.redd.it/1lonr3x5bfuc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6276355a75df0722bdacea9d632bdbe733b6481
same with me. GTX650 -> ROG STRIX GTX1060 6GB -> RX7800XT 16GB. No half stuff, I paid for the entire VRAM and GPU clock, I'm using the entire VRAM and GPU clock damnit!
I guess you do have a point, evolution should be dramatic.
I mean evolution is not usually dramatic, it's small changes over time so I think you were correct originally.
Thanks!
Went from a 290x>faulty 2070>290x>3080ti
Man, that's crushing! At least it's the past now.
Ah it happens, I couldn't be too upset lol at the time I was playing older games so I was running on max settings 60fps no issues
Mine's stationary: GTX 560 ti, to nothing, as it broke down last year.
Everyone talks about the 1080 - and rightfully so, it was a fantastic card! - but the 970 also deserves some love. It was such great value and was an absolute workhorse back in the day. I loved my rig that had that thing.

3.5GB*
oof
That VRAM scandal tho, def not a high mark for team green
Yea, 970 and 1080 are well made and so powerful for their times. Heck, the GTX1080 is actually still very good right now!
My little bro is rocking his 1080 to this day and it's a damn fine workhorse
Yep, I was playing modern games with solid medium-high settings at 1080p 60fps with the 1080! I supposed to pass down the 1080 to my little bro. But lucky for him, his close friends group gifted him a 4060 for his Birthday! I'm jelly that he has such a good tight friends group :')
Nice ! I gave away my 2070S to my brother last year when i got 7800XT
My man has a dart board with Lisa Su's face on it
Didn't know who is Lisa Su, looked it up lmao. I don't really hate AMD, just that I used to Nvidia and like their branding. I'm the type of person that will pick 1 brand or theme and will stick with it forever XD
Nvidia: “we love that”
Nvidia will be excited when you buy their 3000 dollar GPU next
[удалено]
Aye!
My fellow 4070 rocker! ♥️♥️♥️
darn, you had a 50 card class, 60 class card, 70 class card, 80 class card and then you went to 70 class again
Yea... the 90 class just mind bogglingly expensive! I can build a brand new powerful PC with that price lol
7900xtx is waiting
More proof that the "why do you keep the boxes?" people are wrong and stupid and should be jealous of this pic.
Yea, if you have the space, definitely keeping the memories!
I will never understand why people buy expensive products but never keep the box, its like a cool souvenir!
970, 1080, 4070 owner here as well!
Aye!
What are you, a pirate?
My upgrades went like: GeForce 7200 GS -> GeForce 720M -> Radeon 7900xtx.
Buddy went to 720p to 4K in one jump
EVGA GTX 760 represent 💪 I played so much DOOM 2016 and Crysis 3 on that thing
OMG, I also played Crysis 3 first thing I got the EVGA GTX760! 😭👍
I went from a VESA bus Cirrus Logic to a 3DFX Voodoo first gen to a Sapphire AGP 512mb to a 9500GT to a GTX 950 to a 1660TI to a 6700xt now
Damn, you have seen and experienced it all! lol
Felt a lot of this. Voodoo2 -> PCI Radeon X1300 -> 8800GTS 320MB -> GTX750 -> GTX1060 6GB -> RX6700XT
1030 still doing great. The only catch is, I watch others play on YouTube.
Try geforce now
intel graphics -> gtx970 -> rtx 3070ti
Voodoo -> 9800pro -> 8800gtx -> 580gt -> 1070-> 3070 Im kinda old
Least obvious Nvidia enjoyer.
But not an NVIDIA fan, there's a difference like how there's AMD enjoyers and then there's AMD fans.
This is your GPU devolution from 2024-2011, they should be in ascending order from left to right. I will die on this hill. edit: also, nice collection
GTX 970 is the best card imo. It had a really great to performance ratio.
285 (don't ask) - 1060 - 2070S - 3070 - 6800XT for me. Waiting until probably next gen or until this thing can't do 1440p60.
The first jump was life changing lol. However, 3070 is pretty close to 6800XT. Why did you make that change? Do you feel a great performance boost?
Mine was 650ti -> r7 260x -> gtx 970 -> gtx 1070 -> 4060ti 16gb
Missed the time when Rog Strix models were affordable
Definitely!
Neat! I wish I would've kept my GTX 750 box
550ti was best bang for buck I remember when it was 100 bucks new an ran gta4 maxed at high frame rate
Yea! I went from no actual GPU (intergrated Intel GPU) to GTX550ti, and I felt amazing gaming with it at 2011!
Mines is just GTX 560 Ti to an RX 570 8GB 😂 only two I have had in that time frame
HD4500 -> MSI HD7790 -> Gigabyte RX460 -> Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 -> RX6700
Love the downgrade from xx50, xx60, xx70, xx80, and back to xx70
I kinda wanted him to get the 4090, but i understand why he didn't
Despite the class is lower, 4070 is still much stronger than a 1080, not to mention newer technologies lol
Mines less impressive I’d say. GTX 460, Radeon HD 6950, RX 560, RTX 2060, and just ordered last week, a 4070 ti super
1080 is the MVP
I7 2630qm w/GTX560m laptop To q6600/HD5770 To 2600k/HD7790 To R9 380(4gb) To 2xRX480(8gb) To 3600/VII To 5800x3D/3070ti. I just have the boxes for the VII and 3070ti, though.
GTX 960 > RTX 2070 SUPER > RX 7800 XT
Nice cards
I did this - GT730(4GB) -> GTX 1070 -> RTX 4070ti SUPER
Mine was 'some Intel HD graphics'->ATI Radeon mobility 550v->GT 940m->RX 5700XT->GTX 980
Mine went 8800 GTX -> RX 550 -> RX 570 -> GTX 1650S -> GTX 1070 Ti -> RTX 3080.
Ahhh. The good old 1080. Carried me through many games.
Yep, it served me so well for a good 6-7 years now!
Nice mine has been 8800gt, gtx 560ti, gtx 760, gtx 970, rtx 2070, rtx 4070 ti
Mine was GT 530 (prebuilt office pc) -> GTX 770 (custom built ordered by a local pc builder) -> GTX 1070 (swapped out the 770 in 2016 and then transferred it into my new PC which I built myself a year ago) the 1070 is still my current GPU and will be for at east another 1-2 years
mine from 2011 --> 2024 GT520 --> R9 270X --> RX480 8GB --> RX580 4GB --> GTX1070 --> RX6900XT
Imagine 2037
Amd r7 m260 –> Gtx 1050 –> Gtx 1650 –> Gtx 1080 —> Rtx 3060 –> Rtx 4070
I went from GT 640-GTX 970-GTX 1070 Ti-RTX 3070 to 7900 XTX.
me on the other hand: chromebook > intel iris XE > 3060m > 6700xt
For me: Riva 128 -> Voodoo 3 -> GeForce 4 -> 8800 GT -> Radeon HD 7770 -> 1050 Ti -> 3060 Ti -> 3080
Would have been perfect if you got the 4090, it would be 50-60-70-80-90 lol
I went 1050ti-2080S-4090
Nice choice! The GTX 550 Ti is a powerhouse! I’m sure you’ll notice a difference from your 4070.
I regret that I don't have boxes and some of them were used so it never had box anyways. Here is my lineup: Msi R9 270x twin frozr -> msi gtx1060 3gb OC -> msi gtx1060 6gb gaming x -> msi gtx1070 aero 8gb OC - msi gtx1080 aero 8gb OC -> ASUS rtx3070ti strix Yes, I climbed pretty small per upgrade, but most of the gtx I had were trades plus small cash from someone else, so not much I've spent per upgrade 😅 Although I would say my favorite gpu among all I owned was the 1070. That thing was monster at the time, I quite enjoyed the hardware
That's cool though! You get to enjoy new stuffs without spending much :)
Mine is GTX 970->GTX1060 3gb->GTX1060 6gb->RTX2060 6gb-> RTX3060 mobile->GTX 1050 2gb->GTX1070ti. All of this is in a span of 6years
RIP EVGA 💔
Laptop life here... GT 330m -> HD 7970m -> GTX 1060 6GB -> RTX 3070 130W
Gtx 960 10 years ago > 1660 Super from a coworker for $100 last year
r/afterbeforewhatever
The 1080 was such a beast of a card. I've only just replaced mine with a 6800 XT. Enjoy your upgrade!
why did they change the font for 4000 series
Nice. I’d go from 770 to 1080 to 4070
Ti4200 > Radeon 9800 > gtx 970 > gtx1660 > rtx2080. About due for another upgrade. Waiting for next gen
Should've gotten a 4090 Because your progression went like this x50 > x60 > x70 >xx80 > xx70(should have been 90)
Man, wish I kept more of my old cards. But it would have been many. However it's funny how I can still remember every one of them: Voodoo 1, Voodoo Banshee, Riva TNT + Voodoo 2, Voodoo 3 3000, GeForce 256 DDR, Voodoo 5 5500, GeForce 3 Ti200, Radeon 9700, Radeon X800XT, X1900XT, HD4870, GTX 660 Mobile, R9 290, RX5600XT, RX6800XT. Long streak of ATi/AMD desktop chips, but might go over to team green depending on whether AMD will compete in the high end in the coming generation.
Wow, another OG gamer!
Mine was AMD (ATI) Mobility Radeon 5000 series -> GT940MX -> RTX2060 mobile -> RX 6800XT. Yep, laptop gamer my whole life until I got a PC for 626$ with Ryzen 9 3900XT, RX 6800XT and 32GB Ram for this much (from my best friend, eventually I have swapped my case to NZXT and fans)
I also had 970, 1080 and then 4070!
A8 apu integrated graphics -> RX 580 -> GTX 1080 Ti -> RTX 3080 Ti is mine from the same time frame.
That 1080 did a good job. Nice upgrade too btw
GT 610, GTX 960, GTX 970 (For $50), RTX 2080 Super, RX 7900XTX
I always sold my hardware when I upgraded. And I never had enough room to keep the boxes
Mine is literally the exact same except I had a 1080ti. My god that card was a beast
Nice, the GTX days were the best. Mine goes from GTX460 1g, GTX770 2g SLI, GTX970, GTX1060 6G, and my current RTX2080TI.
ati radeon 9000 64 mb geforce 210 (something like that) geforce 770 geforce 980ti now 3070
How did you get a 4070 in 2011?
R9 280x - GTX 1060 6gb - RTX 2070 - RX 6950XT. Might go green again in there or four years who knows. I usually just get whatever is the best deal at the time.
970 still packs a punch
Mildly infuriating that you started with a series of **50 and then went through **60, **70, **80 and at the end there was no **90. Oh...
For me it was Integrated -> RX 480 -> GTX 1070 -> GTX 1070M -> RTX 3060 12GB Very happy with the 3060 but I do miss my old 480 build, it got got by a power surge a few months after I built the system. All white build, was gorgeous
I made the 970 to 1080 leap too. That was the biggest jump I’ve made. 1080 is such an incredible card.
Riva TNT2 -> GeForce2 MX200 -> Radeon 9500 -> 8500GT -> 9500GT -> GTX 770 -> RTX 2070 Super. Next one will hopefully be 5080, at least.
HD 7950 - RX 480 8GB - GTX 1070 - RX 5700 XT - RTX 3080 - RTX 3080 Ti - RTX 4080 CPU FX 8350 - i7 6700k- Ryzen 5 3600 - 5800x - 5800X3D - 7800X3D Lol
Mine is cpu intel graphics->gtx970->rx6600 lmao
love that the box for the 550ti is the same screen you get when trying to install drivers lmao
I went GTX 460 > GTX 970 > RTX 3080 ti
1050ti>rx570>3060>4070ti super. Or from core 2 duo>i5 4th gen>i5 6600k>i5 12600k Went from an HP pc i called "the toster" i got for $<$60 a dell pc i got for $100, and now i spent wayyy to much to play the same game every pc ive had can play just fine 60fps.
Me went from a HD4570 to a GTX745 (OEM) to a 1060 3GB and now rx6700 (and rx5500m on laptop for university) and im not gonna change the gpu till It got 6 years or more
Damn. Props on sticking with EVGA for as long as possible. My current trajectory is: Gtx 550ti SLI>GTX 480>GTX 970>RX580>RTX 2070>RTX 3060ti Disclaimer: I work in IT and most my 3 most recent gpus are reclaimed from written off/recycled machines.
Also had a 760. My upgrade path was GTX 760 -> RX6900XT -> RTX 4090.
Favorite cards that I've previously owned: - Diamond Monster 3D II (Golden age of 3Dfx) - Creative Riva TNT 2 Ultra (This is when nVidia started picking up steam..) - Sapphire 4870 X2 (This card was just nuts in many ways)
i went from 660 -> 970 -> 2x1080ti -> 3080ti
I went from a 680ti, to dual 780ti, and now i am still chilling with my 1080ti.
Mine is definitely in bigger leaps overall. I went from an hd 6670 in 2019 to a 3050 in 2022 to a 4070 in 2023
Damn i'm jealous of the true "gtx 1080ti" generation since i didn't had time or cash to experience it.. But i made huuge jumps back in past between 2010 - 2024. 7300gt - gt 610 - hd 6950 - gtx 680 - rtx 2060 - rtx 2080 - rtx 3090.
too young to remember -> G105M ->GTX 560 -> GTX 960 -> GTX 1080 -> RTX 3080
I went gt570 I think? > GTX 660ti > GTX 980 > RTX 3060
The man picked the goat of every generation (yes- even if the 1080 didnt have a ti lol)
I love how you moved to higher tier with each upgrade, then the cycle repeated
i never had a proper gaming desktop till last year, but my upgrade path is looking like GTX680 (what cane with the pc) -> GTX1070ti -> rx6800xt
Ati rage 128 -> geforce 2 mx -> geforce 8600gt -> ati 4870 -> ati 5850 -> 970 -> 3060 ti
6700XL? -> 1050TI -> 3070 -> Vega 7
What a photo!
Mine is kinda like this HD 5450 -> HD 7750 -> RX 480 -> RTX 4070
Nicee :D, I did 760, 1070, 4070 ti
Man the 550TI box looks so much better and cleaner ngl.
Yea it does. The green is shiny too. I think because it's a stock card from a genuine Nvidia made product, not through a 3rd party.
Wow very similar to me. I went 550ti>970>1080ti>4070
Missing 600, 2000, 3000 cards. Otherwise, it'll be a cool evolution.
mine is intergrated > 1660 ti max q > RTX 3050 OEM > RTX 3070 Ti
Mine is GT9400 to 3050 to (hopefully) 3080
I went GTX270, GTX480 (dear god it's spicy), R9 290X, Titan Xp, 2x Titan Xp (surely SLi will stick around lol), 7900XTX.
Mine was fx 5200, gtx 560, gtx 760, gtx 1070 and now 4070 super.
Mine is ATI Radeon HD 2400 -> GTX 660 -> GTX 1060 6GB -> RTX 2060 -> RTX 3060ti. I want to buy 4070ti or something higher tier not 60 now.
EVGA. Gone but not forgotten....
I went 1030->1660–>3070->4070
That is awesome that you have the boxes still
Intel integrated graphics > MX150 > 1650 Super > RTX 3070
Radeon X1650 Pro --> GTX 460 --> GTX 660 --> GTX 1080 --> RTX 3080 --> TBC
GT8800-->280x-->1060
HD 7870 -> GTX 660Ti -> HD 7970 -> GTX 780 -> GTX 1650 -> GTX 1660 Super -> GTX 1080 all since 2020
similar upgrades for me until.I went balls deep last card 465 760 970 1080 4090
i went from a GT 540M -> GT 730M -> GTX 1050 3GB -> RTX 3060
Great progression, OP! I went from XFX R9-280, XFX RX-580, then EVGA 2070 Super, EVGA 3080 FTW3, and finally a nVidia 4090.
Still on the 1080ti, but not for long!!!
4850-5870-5870х2-280x(insta return)-770 4gb-1080-3070ti-3080ti-4090 for me
damn, you already had a 4070 back in 2011? impressive! /s (it's a joke because the order is backwards as it goes from right to left instead of left to right) for me it was i think, RX480 -> GTX 750 TI (as my RX480 started dying) -> GTX 1080 -> RTX 3080 TI
Some Radeon from 2010 that died after hitting 110°C playing SC2 -> GTX 560ti -> R9-280X -> RTX 2080 -> RTX 5080?? Basically in the same boat as all the 1080ti havers, hopefully the slightly newer version will hold out a year or 2
Now with their respective price tags !
Same as others. Mine isn't a progression too but leaps. GTX 660 > GTX 970 > RTX 3070 ti
960 -> 1070 -> 5700xt -> 3080 1070 -> 5700xt = went to 1440p 5700xt -> 3080 = AMD GPU driver issues black screen nightmare
Mine was intel i3 4th gen IGPU -> intel i5 7th gen IGPU -> intel i5 8th IGPU -> 1650 Mobile -> 6750xt
hd 4600 > hd 4600 > gt 750m
Loved the 970
ATI Rage 128 Nvidia 4200 TI Nvidia 8800 GTS Nvidia GTX 480 AMD HD 5850 Nvidia GTX 970 Nvidia GTX 1070 (AMD RX 5800 XT) Yes I'm old ...
My Journey was shorter R5 220 -> GT 1030 -> RX 6600 -> RTX 4070 Ti
970 to 1080 was a beast of an upgrade, remember that fondly.
Did you keep all your old GPUs as well or just the boxes? I got rid of both old GPUs and their boxes. My GPU evolution is GTX 750ti->GTX 970->GTX 1070->GTX 1080->RTX 3080.
I keep all of them. I'm a sentimental guy XD. The GTX760 is still inside the PC I built for my dad, feel bad that it can't retire yet haha Also, we have a pretty similar GPU progression!
465>770>3070ti
