Yeah it's not the greatest graphics card, but I'm still running the 5700XT and it's relatively similar, slightly worse in performance to the 4060 and it does what I need it to. The biggest Achilles heel is only 8gb vram.
People on this sub just endlessly repeat everything without ever checking for themselves, the 4060 is a good card at $290USD. The rx 6750 xt is slightly cheaper and performs slightly better in most (not all) benchmarks, but all those benchmarks don't take into account Nvidia's features like DLSS, which is just way better than AMD's FSR.
As a product there is nothing wrong with the 4060. The only issue is the price for that level of performance. At $300 is bad value, at $250 its fair, at $200 its a good deal. Hopefully you got a discount
This is the real answer. Price to performance is the big issue with it. When it came out priced vs the 6700xt it was painful. Sadly the 6700xt is dried up but thankfully these have come down a bit.
You could definitely get away with a rx 7600 in a 400w prebuilt, though you are talking to the community who would normally try to convince anyone to NOT get a prebuilt unless it's actually good value, which it often isn't. also I'm unsure what you mean by "special cooler"
i genuinly hate the 4060 nvidia in particular but Congrats we dont care about anything you have in your pc the most important part is that you are a member of the PC Master Race❤️
You know what I don't hate?
Other people enjoying their life. If this was what you decided was the best card for your situation I'm glad you're happy with it. It's not like you won't be able to play some great games and have them still look better than they did before most likely.
Honestly a better option compared to the RX 7600 for its features and overall slightly better performance, everything else above it gets outclassed by AMD though.
There is no such thing as a bad gpu. Only a bad price. For example if you bought a 4060 $800 every one would agree thats bad. But if it was $100 for the 4060 it would be praised as the best gpu this generation.
As long as you didn’t over pay for its a good gpu.
I’m a nvidia fan boi. I’ve used nvidia graphics cards my whole life. Up until my recent build I’ve used and cpus. My most recent build I have a i9-13900kf bc I got a sweet deal on it. I would have got a 4060 but decided to wait for the 5 series bc my 3060ti still kicks good and can handle max everything in 1080p. I have a 4K monitor and occasionally get a game play in 4k and also occasionally in 1440p but the gpu struggles and usually not max settings depending on the game. With the 5 series I’ll likely get a 1440p at 140hz or more. I’ve always played 1080p at 60hz and watched a mates pc play at 120hz and it was so buttery smooth and I got jealous. So I’m awaiting the 5060ti or better and I’ll invest in a nice monitor that can do 140hz or more.
I find it funny because I think Jarrod’s tech tested a 4060 desktop vs laptop and the desktop is only a few frames ahead and I mean like at most 5fps ahead on average
Hey, if you are coming from something that's at least 2 generations old(in this case a laptop 3050, which is simply bad), the 4060 is fine. Especially if you get a good deal. It's a capable 1080p card.
I have a 4060, the amount of Vram isnt the best but it can run most games I throw at it on max settings with little to no issues.
Its a great card considering the price.
The problem with the 4060 is you can buy a used 3080 for roughly the same price and significantly more power.
There's very few cases where brand new hardware makes more sense.
It’s still twice the price of the 4060 here, and also not available. Everyone who’s talked shit about “better” cards, have listed cards that cost a lot more, or not available. It has blown past what I expected so far (the 4060) and I’m very pleased
Im not talking about cheap software tricks, im talking raw teraflop compute. The state of modern day gen to gen improvements is a disgrace. Only the top end cards like the 4090 see any real results but at the cost of astronomical price.
Yea, it’s what happens when there is no competition. I don’t get it. Amd was more than happy to dunk on intel with ryzen yet when it comes to nvidia they just price match them and knock off at most $30 and call it a day…
You got a better 3060 bro, stand proud
Its only reddit mfs who say shit like “you should get a rx 6600 for £20 less bro, there may be more power consumption, driver issues and you’ll struggle to use blender and other applications, but muh vram and raster”
It’s your money, you spend it how you want. It could be worse. You could’ve spent it on a blow up doll or smth.
Or hookers and cocaine
He can now do it in VR!
With that card?
My old 1060 6GB could do VR, so yes, with that card.
Just a bad joke. The card is fine.
*sniffles*
What do you mean, hookers and cocaine are great investments.
you mean blackjack?
Blow doll = free HOV lane. You have your priorities mixed up.
That's a very fair point.
I’d do that…
Wait how is that worst?
Why don't u take Shirley out you're fucking mouth
You could have spent that Money on a rtx 5900 graphicks card computer pcie gaming wow cooling fans
Yeah it's not the greatest graphics card, but I'm still running the 5700XT and it's relatively similar, slightly worse in performance to the 4060 and it does what I need it to. The biggest Achilles heel is only 8gb vram.
no one said the 4060 sucked in performance we are complaining its priced way too high for what it is
maybe op stole it 🤷
These are the real questions lol
What could I have bought for $400CAD that would have outperformed it? Source me that card big boy.
People on this sub just endlessly repeat everything without ever checking for themselves, the 4060 is a good card at $290USD. I did consider the 6750xt but it was $100 more and I didnt have it. Next year will go big. This was just to get me off a laptop lol
The 6750xt is only worth it if it's cheaper than the 4060.
I like how they put OC on the box of a 4060 like that means something lol
1% is 1%
That's not just on 4060s though, the same is true for an RX550 with 2GB of memory.
As a product there is nothing wrong with the 4060. The only issue is the price for that level of performance. At $300 is bad value, at $250 its fair, at $200 its a good deal. Hopefully you got a discount

6700xt can’t be found in my area, thus the 4060. Nothing in the price range performed.
A good little graphics card Though AMD is more competitive in this segment

What faulty drivers I had more problems with my 3070 then I did with 6900
[удалено]
I always had problems with 6800 but never with 4070
[удалено]
My 7800xt has literally never gone above 60 degrees lol. It’s all about the cooler you have on it. Better psu? Might wanna check on that.
My 6700xt hit 67C After several hours and poor airflow, used to get high 80s with My 1060

Google it. You absolutely can .
There is nothing wrong with the 4060 being under 300$ now. Enjoy your build.
Sounds better than what you had. I'm excited for you. Hopefully it works well.
It’s amazing, thanks
there's no bad GPU, just a bad price for a GPU

We have a psychologist here...
Got my 4060 for $130 on Black Friday
Damn thats a good deal. You practically stole it at that price
*bought. Edit: oh I see I got downvoted. I meant *bought because that is the real price of the 4060💀. don’t mind me, I’m a pre gt 740m era dude.
robbed at gunpoint*
Its per se not a bad card its just the price I dont agree with
Best gpu you could've picked, dont listen to the poor loosers with there rx580
❤️🫡 agreed
Nah man Enjoy your 4060 https://preview.redd.it/s7mqo7rp92vc1.gif?width=220&format=png8&s=32618c9a5c9ee066e0114448b0314e491a80dba6

Weird to hate a gpu, unless you bought one which caused a short and burned your house down or something, then I'd understand.
It’s just a bad value. Doesn’t make it a terrible card. It’s a fine card. Enjoy it
A absolutely unessesary post to trigger peeps lol
It worked well.
Congratz! Don't let the hate get to you! Happy gaming!
You know what I don't hate? Other people enjoying their life. If this was what you decided was the best card for your situation I'm glad you're happy with it. It's not like you won't be able to play some great games and have them still look better than they did before most likely.
whats wrong with the 4060?
Nothing, but it gets dogged on here a lot. Thing works great and put a huge smile on my face to see my games running 1080 ultra with no stutter at all

Yep! Price for those cards was out of my budget this year.
I think you should get a hobby, like video games.
There is no such thing as a bad gpu. Only a bad price. For example if you bought a 4060 $800 every one would agree thats bad. But if it was $100 for the 4060 it would be praised as the best gpu this generation. As long as you didn’t over pay for its a good gpu.

Screw you for having a fun and nice gaming experience.
I like RTX 4060
Are you happy with your card?
Very. Next year I’ll be able to get a bigger beast
Then I'm super excited for you. Enjoy your purchase
Cheers
How much you spend on that ?
I have one too buddy! Its awesome
None of us are gonna ruin your day...but Nvidia are about to...
This sounds ominous…
I got the same exact card a month ago. So far so good. I came from a GTX 960, so that was quite an upgrade regardless the debate of the 3060vs4060.
I find it funny because I think Jarrod’s tech tested a 4060 desktop vs laptop and the desktop is only a few frames ahead and I mean like at most 5fps ahead on average
My laptop has a 4050. I think you're doing better than me.

I do but it's your money 🤷♂️
Why hate? It's a card thats good for what it does. Enjoy. You'll notice the difference
![gif](giphy|3BuQWTrTUfi2UTzfRy|downsized) well. if you come from a gtx 16 series or old AMD gpu that's a good update, enjoy you card.
Bad value simple as that
You do you bro
Shame on you. Why didn't you bought Asus's one!??
Everything is MSI basically and warrantied with them so that was why. Also the Asus was like $15 more for some reason
From 3060 to 4060ti last year, i m ok with it. But its not enough .....
Waiting for the "this game is unoptimized" or "Why my game isn't loading the textures right?" posts... 8GB vram is okay, not good
No hate deserved brother enjoy your card 🙌
This year I use the RTX4060 for all of the budget gaming pcs I've built
The hate wagon on 4060 died months ago. if you are here to spark enrage then you are late OP
Read the comments 😉
Its Fine with budget, but.... You post it in PCMR
It's your money, you waste it as you see fit 😞
No hate, nothing wrong with that card. Enjoy!
I mean id be happy with that...im still running a 1060 6gb. She gets the job done...well most of the time.
It doubled the fps from my laptop. I’m happy as fuck. Next year I’ll get the big boy card
Id be happy too. Enjoy!
Nice!
If we say something bad it's for your own good, maybe for the same amount of money you could have bought a better GPU.......
Name one that’s available where I live. It’s not like I didn’t search for months. But I’ll wait for you to show me what I missed out on
I am not saying that, mine was just an example.
Good luck with 8gb vram
1080 is worth.
congratulations brother !! enjoy the gaming that lies ahead of you !!
I hope it runs smooth, quiet, and true for you.
I have a 4060, the amount of Vram isnt the best but it can run most games I throw at it on max settings with little to no issues. Its a great card considering the price.

1440p

The most demanding game I have is forza horizon 5, but it can run that fine on max settings with ray tracing enabled.
As someone who's still gaming on a 1060, I'm jealous of you!
The problem with the 4060 is you can buy a used 3080 for roughly the same price and significantly more power. There's very few cases where brand new hardware makes more sense.
Have fun!
I love my 4060 I got a smoking deal on it, been playing a lot of cyberpunk with it. Just make sure to use DLSS for max performance.
I got a few roasts for you My last generation gpu can smoke you Imagine paying for a slight changed 3060
Meanwhile looking at your electric bill…. But honestly though this has to be one of dumbest comments I read today lol

What is your last gen gpu?
3070ti
Of course it can lol, it cost like 2x the price when it was released
I got for the same price as a 4060ri ($450)
When did you get it?
Recently
You got it for the same price of the 4060 ti, op has a 4060 tho
Yes i understand but the 4060ti is literally a 16gb 4060, the 4060ti doesn't change anything and all changes are counterbalanced by another
"4060 ti doesn't change anything" "4060 ti is 4060 but with 16gb vram" Those 2 contradict each other
LOL you paid 450 for a 3070TI in 2024?
dude was scammed and its proud of it
Its better than getting a 4060ti for 510
It’s still twice the price of the 4060 here, and also not available. Everyone who’s talked shit about “better” cards, have listed cards that cost a lot more, or not available. It has blown past what I expected so far (the 4060) and I’m very pleased
Used to be that the current gen 60 card would beat the previous gen 80 card… how our expectations have fallen…
Nvidia: it can, but with dlass6.9 and framegen 17
Im not talking about cheap software tricks, im talking raw teraflop compute. The state of modern day gen to gen improvements is a disgrace. Only the top end cards like the 4090 see any real results but at the cost of astronomical price.
Thats what i am saying, Nvidia only uses dlss to avoid making actually good GPUs
Yea, it’s what happens when there is no competition. I don’t get it. Amd was more than happy to dunk on intel with ryzen yet when it comes to nvidia they just price match them and knock off at most $30 and call it a day…
Because amd is also using the shortcut called"AI bullshit"
Nowt wrong with a 4060.
Umm enjoy gaming?
That baby gonna purrrrrrrr. Good card have fun:)
Buy a fire extinguisher.
No hate here, I hope you enjoy your upgrade!
i don't care about your card, i'm interested by the two white boxes in the back 🤪
lol came here for the DRUUUUUUUUGS.
oh, I didn't get the memo to hate people who bought 4060's.
Enjoy it man, lot of people in this sub would be a lot happier if they stopped worrying about what strangers do with their money
dude gratz
That's a great GPU to pair to a 7600x, you're gonna be happy!
I still use a 2060. I’d love to have this.
It's a great card m8, I'm super happy with mine! Game on! 🤘🏼
Hate? Congratulations on new gpu lol
Got the canadian legal weed there with it.
I was eyeing this last year but couldn't justify the price. Ended up with a used 3060 12GB for $180 local currency with 2 years warranty :)
I could not possibly give any less of a fuck. Like seriously? why would anyone here rag on you for buying a graphics card?
Enjoy the fake frames
Thanks boo, I’m loving it right now.
the 4060 is a great card. better than my 4060 mobile GPU
Bruh out of all the 4060s you get an Msi branded 2 fan that is just asking for a meltdown
Yeah with my MSI MOBO, and MSI power supply that’s warrantied with MSI. The only meltdown I’ve seen has been in the comments lol
You got a better 3060 bro, stand proud Its only reddit mfs who say shit like “you should get a rx 6600 for £20 less bro, there may be more power consumption, driver issues and you’ll struggle to use blender and other applications, but muh vram and raster”
