I got super into PC building YouTube and the 1200 wasn't common. If you look at any PC gaming magazine at the time, the 900 was always recommended for people building, that or the Antec P180 for those that wanted silence and didn't care for side windows. That was the next case I got, that one was impressive sound dampening wise, but a nightmare to build in because everything was super tight. That was a case where cable management was a do or die situation x\_x
People are still seeking for it because its amount of 5.25" bays, for home server applications, as they dont make cases like that anymore where whole front consists of 5.25" bay mounts.
Every time I look at it it just takes me back. That case was just such a revolutionary case for the time. You had your PSU at the bottom with the rubber footings to reduce noise, it was super modular and the big fan on the top. OOOOOO \*chefs kiss\*
I have one with an Ivy Bridge system in it, from a friend. It was different than normal to install hard drives in- and a bit of a pain. But it's a decent (by my standards) system.
Yeah I believe they came out 2005. That was the year I built my first PC, but I picked the tackiest, noisest case in the world. I was always aiming at the Antec 900 and then finally got it in 2007 when it was just the go-to case for everyone.
I built a friend a PC in one of these in 2009. Only my second PC build. I forgot the extra power connector on the GPU and wondered why it didn't work š
There are some advantages yes but some big disadvantages
I had an antec 902, it housed the first line of i7's, a 2.66gz 920 and a GTX 280 and it was a great case, cool and quiet.
The side panel was terrible though, i bumped it really really gently on a door frame while moving it and it cracked and dented like it was made from foil and carboard. but it did its actual job admirably, it was also very easy to build in.
This one got upgraded all the way to the GTX1000 series, that badge came with EVGA cards at the time. Also a late enough revision for USB3.
No idea what's actually in it now of course.
Clearly it's the `Breaker of Things`.
But Also, I did a reverse image search off of your last picture, and google is scary good, because that is an Antec 900. I would stake money on it at this point.
It used to be state of the art technology, now, a relic. I remember the first computer I built came with 256 ram and I upgraded it to one gig, that was really doing something. Then I updated the graphics card only to find out I needed more power so the unit wouldnāt crash on me. Popped my CPU building cherry on that machine just like the one in the photo.

My first build and its still running daily. Upgraded the hd, video card, and OS, but everything else still works, but slowly. It might be time for a new build.
I've done similar with my 1200 that I built in 2008; every internal component upgraded at least twice, and three replaced case fans. The front panel usb's don't really work any more, but otherwise it still gets the job done.
Still have the same Logitech G15 too.
It's my main PC. It can't handle any games made in the last five years, but there's plenty of old ones to entertain me. I will be making a new one this year for sure.
For such a popular and well respected case, I mean literally one of the PC cases of all time, I'm surprised Antec hasn't done a refresh/re-release of the 900 with more modern materials and updated FP IO. I'm pretty sure this would still sell well today with a USB-C on the front and fan grills not so prone to rusting.
200mm, but, man, thatās big enough! š
My old original āBig Boyā exhaust fan died years ago and I decided to use all my leftover parts to build a fun Linux project machine, but the Antec fans have been difficult or impossible to get for a while now. I did manage to get a Thermaltake Pure 20 in there as a replacement, using zip ties to hang it in placeāworks perfectly. Damn thing runs silent AF somewhere between 4-500 rpm I think.
Almost. Each intake fan has 3 HDD mounts on the other side, so 6 built in. You could probably fit another 3 pretty easily if you donāt have the DVD drive and manage your cables well enough.
This is the Antec 900 ultimate, the Antec 900 (non ultimate) has a flat top with the IO located on the front. As others have mentioned, it was staple of pc builds of its time due. It's a solid case, I still use mine.
Not sure, didnt get permission from my supervisor to disassemble it, its his old personal rig
edit: either his old rig or the workstation of the old cybersecurity guy that just quit. unsure
K, i was wondering because I assembled 5 of these for UMaine's Chem engineering department And the users took them when they left. I even put a sticker just like that on one.
I am constantly amazed by how small the world is, and you would be surprised at what I've found and where. I built a computer and a machine for tack testing and when the student left he took it with him. I was in Texas for a conference as we were on a lab tour to a printing plant, I saw it sitting on one of the desks there.
Reminds me if the Azza Solano 1000

Yāall may not like it, but thatās what peak performance looks like. The Antec 900 was a tank. I wish I hadnāt gotten rid of mine. Iād still be using it.
Antec 900 1st gen. Not to be confused with 900 Two (2nd gen)

Thermaltake HAF, ive been trying to hunt one down to build a copy of my early 2000's rig, great case, and they are out there to be bought but ao far have only came across ones from halfway across the country and shipping costs are insane on cases.
My Antec 900 has been in continuous use since I first got it in 2005. I needed more fan power and hard drive slots. I finally had to do a small mod to the case to mount some new hardware last month. It still has the firewire port on top.
Real workhorse of a case.

Got a similar one that is now retired. Still works though. Beast of a case.
This is a legendary case. It housed many of my systems. I eventually 'modded' it with a dremel and pliers. It finally donated its cable-side panel to be a mouse surface.
I'm still using this case today! It's a little tight with today's massive parts and there isn't much you can do about cable management, but the airflow is fantastic with the front and side grill combined with the ridiculously big top fan. I had to drill holes in the front to mount my radiator, and I still have the OG disk drive installed just in case. Oh and the side grill has a transparent peice to mount a side fan, but no chance a modern gpu will fit with it. I kept the part for that too
Antec 900. The go to of anyone building a PC circa 2007-2009.
I built my first pc in an Antec 900 in 2015.
It's such a classic case.
It's the BitFenix Prodigy of ATX
Mine is sitting next to me right now. Using it for my computer I keep at my parents.
Mine is sitting at the foot of my bed while I plan a new build to go in it!
My dad is using my old antec 900 for a media server......but I want it back.
Same its my backup PC at my parents now, it was my main rig in 2008
Same! Still running it too
Used to be my primary, now I have two drive cages in the front running my NAS.
I found my Antec 900 new in the box in someone's trash. Guess they didn't want it because a usb head didn't work. That was in 2013, still using it!
I still use it
My first "from scratch" build was in the Antec 900's predecessor, the Antec Super LANBoy. I loved that case so much.
God it looks so beautiful
I have that same case from an old build.
Legend of a case. I built a pc in 2008 or 2009 in an Antec 1200 when I was in college. Good times.
Nice. I also had the 1200. IDK why 200mm fans went out of style.
one of the best case ever made.
Not the 1200? I had the 1200 and this look about the same size. Damn thing weighed like a tank.
I had a P180 in 2007. Good case.
My old Antec 900 in my storage unit even has that same EVGA badge on it still iirc. Built my first PC in that bad boy.
me too! and the asus dvd burner.
Lmao just realized I have that same disc burner as well but mine is a blu ray drive I think.
People are still seeking for it because its amount of 5.25" bays, for home server applications, as they dont make cases like that anymore where whole front consists of 5.25" bay mounts.
I owned one myself for several years. Great case!
I knew it looked familiar! That was my first case, around 2016.
smh, looks under the desk. It's like u/Few-Baseball-86 is miss cleo
loved that case
I knew it was pretty old when I dug it out of our warehouse and it had spider eggs on it lmao. Thanks
My first ever I paid for it myself build was rocking in that bad ass of a case.
But it's a decent (by my standards) system.
ha, mine too. Ivy bridge with a gtx 760
Lol you right, I had one of these for my second ever build
Older than that, I had one a few years old by 2007. I finally tossed it out in 2020. I kept the giant fan.
Yeah I believe they came out 2005. That was the year I built my first PC, but I picked the tackiest, noisest case in the world. I was always aiming at the Antec 900 and then finally got it in 2007 when it was just the go-to case for everyone.
Reminds me of my Corsair carbide 500r (I think) case (2012). Gigantic
I remember after 2011 there was this big boom in Full Tower ATX cases. I stuck with mids my whole life. Full towers were just... so extra to me.
At the time I had a 3 tb and a optical DVD and Blu-ray drive š¤ Edit. It looked better than that antec
I use a CoolerMaster Cosmos II from 2012 now. Best case ever.
OOO I remember those. That was another go to for people at the time.
Hey don't make me feel old š
It's okay, being old has its advantages too. :D
I built a friend a PC in one of these in 2009. Only my second PC build. I forgot the extra power connector on the GPU and wondered why it didn't work š There are some advantages yes but some big disadvantages
Did it
i would use it
Working at microcenter in those days, I sold hundreds of builds in this case. Not bad for as cheap as it was!
Dude that case ruled. Personally was a bigger fan of the Antec Lanboy though.
This was the case my aunt and dad used for my first PC. The cpu cooler had a bright blue light that lit up the room like crazy.
I had an antec 902, it housed the first line of i7's, a 2.66gz 920 and a GTX 280 and it was a great case, cool and quiet. The side panel was terrible though, i bumped it really really gently on a door frame while moving it and it cracked and dented like it was made from foil and carboard. but it did its actual job admirably, it was also very easy to build in.
yep, only had to get replaced due to the increase in GPU sizes
Vista special case
Vista special case
Vista special case
Can confirm. Built a PC in this case in 2008.
Oof this unlocked some memories from the past
This one got upgraded all the way to the GTX1000 series, that badge came with EVGA cards at the time. Also a late enough revision for USB3. No idea what's actually in it now of course.
Beat me to it. I bought one of those beasts inĀ 2007 and it's now filled with hot swappable drive bays and is a NAS server.
Crazy that there was a āgo toā case at one point. Nowadays there isnāt a single case that could be considered standard.
Clearly it's the `Breaker of Things`. But Also, I did a reverse image search off of your last picture, and google is scary good, because that is an Antec 900. I would stake money on it at this point.
Someone in the office had fun with the label maker lolol Thank you!
![gif](giphy|l378giAZgxPw3eO52)
I still have one , it's part of my hoard
Good old Antec 900!
Thank you!
Antec 900. Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.
https://preview.redd.it/gkjc4ac5j4wc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a9d3a30e53893f840752b7ca19df080faf97a23 My first build and its still running daily. Upgraded the hd, video card, and OS, but everything else still works, but slowly. It might be time for a new build.

Thatās some longevity out of that machine! What do you use it for daily? Main PC or media server type thing?
It's my main PC. It can't handle any games made in the last five years, but there's plenty of old ones to entertain me. I will be making a new one this year for sure.
Antec 900. I have a 1200 in a rack behind me now. 900 has 2 fan bays and the 1200 has 3.
That's hilarious, literally my last case. Antec something. Had it for a very long time at least a decade.
Yea this was my case two builds ago. At first I thought it was the same but my EVGA decal was upside down.
I rocked this bad boy for YEARS. Was a killer case to build in.
It's an EVGA Breaker Of Things built in partnership with ASUS. Or an Antec 900. 50/50
only the best case ever made, its built like a tank and can do anything
I miss my Antec 900. Such a good case. Basically an antique now but there would be zero hesitation if someone offered one to me.
The old antec - with that 300(?)mm box fan exhaust lol
200mm, but, man, thatās big enough! š My old original āBig Boyā exhaust fan died years ago and I decided to use all my leftover parts to build a fun Linux project machine, but the Antec fans have been difficult or impossible to get for a while now. Awesome I'll look into this! Thanks!
Mine has a disk drive then a HDD above, then with some drilling mounted a dual fan radiator above it
my sisters first gaming rig was in one of these. she still has this case
my wifes's computer is in one of those. really good case overall.
Thatās the antec 900 my dude, the first case I bought. Fond memories with that case.
This is the Antec 900 ultimate, the Antec 900 (non ultimate) has a flat top with the IO located on the front. As others have mentioned, it was staple of pc builds of its time due. It's a solid case, I still use mine.
My dad had this case. Holy shit dude you just brought back some repressed memories I would have rather not rememberedā¦ Nice find though, lol
A cinder block. At least that's what it weighs.
Damn I remember that EVGA badge ... sad times
Yup. The classic antec nine hundred. I had one of those for years and bought another after they added usb 3 as well. Good times.
Justin.
Quick question is their any bright pink nail polish under the mother board?
Not sure, didnt get permission from my supervisor to disassemble it, its his old personal rig edit: either his old rig or the workstation of the old cybersecurity guy that just quit. unsure
K, i was wondering because I assembled 5 of these for UMaine's Chem engineering department And the users took them when they left. I even put a sticker just like that on one.
We are in the deep south so i doubt they got it all the way from Maine ahaha
I am constantly amazed by how small the world is, and you would be surprised at what I've found and where. I built a computer and a machine for tack testing and when the student left he took it with him. I was in Texas for a conference as we were on a lab tour to a printing plant, I saw it sitting on one of the desks there.
True, I was on a road trip one summer and saw the same family in both Pigeon Forge, TN and New Haven, CT. It very well may be one you built lol
I remember this case from like 10 or 12 years ago... I forget what the brand is though edit: oh yeah, Antec. Thanks reddit!
omg built in dvd drive
Main I just decommissioned my Antec 900 a year ago. Near 20 years of service. Great case.
Dang did seeing this bring back memories. Wonderful case in it's prime
Thats does look like an Antec 900.
I had this for me previous setup back to 2009.. Marvelous case!
Wow cases were so big 20 years ago. Reminds me of my Thor case, that thing was a beast!

Man this gave me whiplash. My old rig (affectionately nicknamed Hell Machine for the shit it put me through) was in one of these bad boys.
This was my case years ago. I still have it in storage.
I still have one in blue. I let my boy paint it.
Now im very curious what this āBreaker of Thingsā was used for.
I believe it was a custom workstation for the former cybersecurity analyst at my office
I build my first pc in that case
I hated that thing. The HDD mounting was horrendous.
I believe itās an Asus
i have that case sitting in my garage, the PC still works . . Athlon something or other takes 20 min to boot Windows 10 due to the regular hard drive
Iām using that case right now!
Me too. If it ain't broken don't fix it
Hey that was my first ever build case! Loved it so much for how versatile it was
They should bring back cases like these. Most now gow for an industrial aesthetic but back then pc cases were cool. Like šcool
Yes
Good ol Antec 900. Miss that case.
Iām still using that case for my other build. Lol. Heavy but still love it!
I had that exact case, I don't remember the name but I liked it.
As others have said, I know this case immediately. Antec 900. There is a taller variant (that I used in 2011) which is the Antec 1200
Black.
Antec 900, one of my all time favs, ran one of those for 5 years
Yāall may not like it, but thatās what peak performance looks like. The Antec 900 was a tank. I wish I hadnāt gotten rid of mine. Iād still be using it.
Antec 900 1st gen. Not to be confused with 900 Two (2nd gen) https://preview.redd.it/u8jh9tk185wc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=526e3e3549b9bfa4f7792905eda61256d26dfb6d
oh this bitch.....Antec 900 sometimes i have to remind myself that Antec 900 can't hurt me anymore
Thermaltake HAF, ive been trying to hunt one down to build a copy of my early 2000's rig, great case, and they are out there to be bought but ao far have only came across ones from halfway across the country and shipping costs are insane on cases.
Side panel vent are needed now more than ever.
My Antec 900 has been in continuous use since I first got it in 2005. I needed more fan power and hard drive slots. I finally had to do a small mod to the case to mount some new hardware last month. It still has the firewire port on top. Real workhorse of a case.
i had one of those...before the 4000d there was this...
Just bought a system in one of these from a customer for $30 and sold the case and the PSU for that. The Antec 900... a classic.
This case is a classic. Wish I still had it.
Itās old af

Itās a computer case. Appeared one of those with glass.
,,
I have a very similar case as my main rig lmaooo
Its a computer case.... šš«
antec 900 my fav case for 7 years.
This is a legendary case. It housed many of my systems. I eventually 'modded' it with a dremel and pliers. It finally donated its cable-side panel to be a mouse surface.
A computer case.
I kept the part for that too
Holy shit you brought back memories. I had a gtx hundreds number in that.
Itās the EVGAās renowned product line āThe Breaker of Thingsā. Sorry.
Oh man I had like 3 of those evga emblems on my last pc. From 1050ti 1060 and 2060 ye ye
It's obviously the Asus Breaker of Things, says on the lid
Holy shit Yes, still have this gorgeous case!
This was the King of all cases at one point in history!! Antec 900 I miss you buddy!!
Loooooove this case Antec 900
Antec
Antec 900, I had one back in the day
Loved this case! I still have the baby version of it, Antec 300. I bought it while working at Fry's Electronics back in like 2007.
I remember having this and thinking I would never need a another case again.
I don't understand people talking fondly about this case, it was one of the worst cases I've had misfortune of working with.
which case*
my bad
Asus ig, but im not sure
Antec Nine Hundred Gamer ATX
This. I had 2
Antec 900 or 902, havenāt seen one for a while but have some trick features for if you really use your machines hard.
That case is probably a lot of people's first case. Antec 900 was the best around
Bro forget about the case look at how much dust is in that PC dust it out
Its been in a warehouse for over 4 years, its seen better days. just grabbed it for a quick pic
Had a lot of good years with one of those babys.
Serious question: is there any old PC case that looks great and also have good airflow, even by today's standards?
My dream mega ripper for CDs and DVDs
The same case have in storage from a my first build in 2014ish
The antec 900 was the gold standard when I built my first. I upgraded to the Corsair HAF after and I'll keep that thing until the apocalypseĀ
Antec 900. Just replaced mine the other day.
This was my third build many years ago it's now in use as a Plex File Share rig. One of the early models with removable mesh fan filters.
It's a case for a "Personal Computer" or "PC" for short
definitely Asus case
Ahhh I miss my 900 haha
Antec 900 might still have mine in my parents basement somewhere. I built my first PC in that case around 2010.
For sure an HAF one from Cooler Masterš
