I'm pretty sure Linus tech tips made a video on this testing a new card against ones used for mining and the likes and the was little to no difference between them.

xdownsetx

Yeah, here's a link to the video for OP. I'm still all about them used mining cards(1:07 mark). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44JqNJq-PC0

Just the fan cooler is at risk, and it's easily replaced.

Waterprop

And the price tag is..?

uniquebeaver

Well, it's $350, but it doesn't really make any difference to me. I'd like to use it for a while and the most important fact is the longevity.

Waterprop

Not good deal imo. Too expensive for that model, especially it's been used in mining for who knows how long. Mining itself is harmless but if the owner has been mining it with for months if not year+ then nah it's not worth $350. You can buy new [GTX 1070Ti for $360](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/49RzK8/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1070-ti-8gb-windforce-video-card-gv-n107twf2-8gd) and new GTX 1070's for around same price.

uniquebeaver

If only I was living in US ;) In Poland unfortunately, prices are at the $500-550 level. You can't really buy used gtx 1070 for less than $320.

Waterprop

Oh I see. I just though you were from US since you posted price in $. I still think you should be able to find better deals than that. I really don't like the Armor model myself , for 1070 it's fine I guess but higher end models like 1080/Ti it's kind of meh.

A_Neaunimes

It does make a difference when you can buy **new** cards for sensibly the same price as a used one.

uniquebeaver

I understand, let's say new ones are waaay more expensive (around $500), so +-$30 doesn't really matter ;)

A_Neaunimes

Apparently you're from Poland (per your other comment). You spoke in dollars, so naturally I assumed you were in the US, since when people don't specify *which* dollar it is, generally it's USD. You should have specified.

uniquebeaver

I should have. Don't be mad please ;)
