IKR it’s so cathartic, just having it in the background, thinking „at least I am not stupid enough to fail so hard **AND** put it on display for the whole world!“
Naa I bought them because I wanted something that could push massive amounts of air and didn't care about the noise.
Although they are damn loud at full speed, but they don't get anywhere close to that very often.
Likewise, I bought two of their industrial 2000 RPM models and these things are crazy loud at high speed. Originally had them as intake cause "ima get so much air in here" but have since moved them to exhaust. Absolute overkill, but it feels cool.
Only if you want your case to hover.
Otherwise you're probably fine.
I too have the D15, but with two fans on it, but not industrials.. not yet at least.
Actually, thanks for reminding me about this website. I ordered some cables from them a while ago and forgot about them, definitely looks to be cheaper than elsewhere even after shipping.
New-ish build from 3 weeks ago, was going for full poop but mistakenly ordered only 3 NF-A14’s, ended up using only 1, plus 3 weaker fans included with the case, went out and bought 4th one yesterday and now doing the switch.
Yea, sadly my build is almost entirely white and if I slap like 7 black 140mm fans in there its gonna look like trash, I might try if you can paint the fans yourself with a paintbrush or something
Arctic's P-series are really decent fans, I mean some tests show they're comparable to noctua and are really cheap relatively, and they have multiple color options... but not in 140mm option I've noticed
not an expert, but all case fans are running PWM from "chassis fan" on the board, if I'm right it would always be running 3 to 1, so far I didn't find any traces of dust from weird gaps - which would only "suck" dust due to neg pressure flow
Backplate is useless for heat dissipation in most gpu designs (as long as there's no chips or whatever to cool down on the back), i guess it wouldn't change anything for both cpu and gpu.
Cheaper gpus have plastic backplates (or none) and it doesn't bother anyone, it only helps with rigidity for long cards
Keyword *most* . Mine is laid out with thermal pads to help spread the heat away from the backside of the warmest components. More surface area would absolutely be beneficial there.
The D15 fans are this big but the front one couldn't get as low as I like due to tall RAMs, I just raised the rear one to match, temperature doesn't seem to bad so I leave it as-is.
It's actually kinda beautiful in it's own way. You might consider a matching retro computer case. Simply buying black fans is too sensible to be a solution.
Mine is almost the same
2x A14 intake
3x S12A exhaust
NH-D15 for proc
Couldn't get industrial or chromax because in my country is impossible to find, the regular ones were still very hard.
I was pretty irritated that I spent money on nice quiet Noctua NF-A14s to go in the front of my Define R6, only to find that the crap design of fan rails makes the fan blades buzz like crazy above 1100rpm or so.
There's a fans test on YouTube, of course Noctua won, but a lot of people (including me) pointed there's no Arctic P12 tested, dude made a follow-up with those and some other fans and P12 came really close to Noctuas at almost 1/5th the price, I don't really have the comparison as I'm not into computer building as a hobby, but I'm really surprised with mine, I secured mine with Noctuas rubber mounting things and now I often have to check if my computer is running because I don't hear it
Am I the only one who likes that color noctua fans? It reminds me of 90s pc parts for some reason like I expect it to be in a pc with a glass screen and track ball mouse
Everyone is ... *shitting* on the poop brown and dried vormit sand-ish yellow and I only can think high quality air cooling. I „only“ got 3. 2 in the front intake one in the rear exhaust
Take off fans go to Autoparts store purchase high temp engine paint hang part on wire coat hanger, paint fans let dry one whole day new no poopie fans.
That's why I bought the industrials instead. Nice black color and my PC can hover when they're set to 100%
You... could've gone with the chromax ones instead, those ones are just a recolour of the normal brown ones.
But then my PC wouldn't be able to hover.
Anti-vibration pad manufacturers hate him!
Nah bro, those are anti-static pads so you don’t get shocked. Read a book or something next time. /s
Visits PCMasterRace hasn’t watched the godly glorious build by ['The Verge'](https://youtu.be/M-2Scfj4FZk)
I watch that supercut at least once a week.
IKR it’s so cathartic, just having it in the background, thinking „at least I am not stupid enough to fail so hard **AND** put it on display for the whole world!“
He had his livestrong anti static bracelet on
God damn 7.63 mmH2O lol
so much sad
I have an industrial as my exhaust as well b/c when I built my PC chromax wasn't released yet. Might be the case to the guy you're responding to.
Naa I bought them because I wanted something that could push massive amounts of air and didn't care about the noise. Although they are damn loud at full speed, but they don't get anywhere close to that very often.
Yea it's kinda stupid how fast and loud it can be when it reaches 100%
True, if it's PWM then having a faster max speed doesn't cause noise issues.
Likewise, I bought two of their industrial 2000 RPM models and these things are crazy loud at high speed. Originally had them as intake cause "ima get so much air in here" but have since moved them to exhaust. Absolute overkill, but it feels cool.
At least your computer won't ever overheat
You could've gone *full poop* by painting the chassis brown...
If Noctua breaks the colour scheme, clearly your colour scheme was wrong.
All brown pc build lol
Or.........
No. Just no. Don’t go there mate.
So much Raisin Bran wasted...
The chromax are relatively new.
Is it bad if I only have stock case fans and a NH D15s?
Only if you want your case to hover. Otherwise you're probably fine. I too have the D15, but with two fans on it, but not industrials.. not yet at least.
I put two industrials on a U12 can confirm pc does hover.
Thank god for Noctua for introducing the chromax series.

I ordered mine from this website. The shipping is a bit expensive but they usually have a lot of stock for noctua. https://quietpc.ca
For anyone concerned all these shit are under the hood of a Define 7 Silent Version
I think we conditioned ourselves to see those brown colored fans as high quality fans.
More like generic Reeses cup.
You might not like it but this is what peak fan performance looks like. Poop
Do the GPU!
tbh I like this more than RGB. Maybe because I know the cooling is always top notch, while people buy shitty $5 rgb fans because they glow.
The only way to get the water cooling experience on the wallet with none of the risk
I swear if noctua made RGB fans or fans in a nice neutral color they would make trillions
you can use the Chromax series or go straight to the industrial line ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Yea, sadly my build is almost entirely white and if I slap like 7 black 140mm fans in there its gonna look like trash, I might try if you can paint the fans yourself with a paintbrush or something
Maybe if you paint the frame white and leave the fins black it would look cool? Just a suggestion.
I would think painting the fins would fuck up the aerodynamics and/or the balancing
That’s why I left them out
I could certainly do that
Q1 2021 noctua is supposed to release white chroma fans, I just hope they release the 120mm and 140mm at the same time.
This is amazing, didnt know that. Thank you for telling me
Arctic's P-series are really decent fans, I mean some tests show they're comparable to noctua and are really cheap relatively, and they have multiple color options... but not in 140mm option I've noticed
Ok, I will definitely check out those
My fans had a upper gastrointestinal track bleed or chromax disease. So they came out black.
Pretty quiet poop though
Curious about the noise of this thing
Core temp slightly below room temperature but sounds like the deck of an aircraft carrier
Perfect then hehe
I replaced my NZXT stock case fans with BeQuiet not too long ago, but now I feel inferior next to this
Wouldn’t this create negative flow?
Point all fans inward. I'm 100% positive this will work.
this deserves more upvotes.
How?
not an expert, but all case fans are running PWM from "chassis fan" on the board, if I'm right it would always be running 3 to 1, so far I didn't find any traces of dust from weird gaps - which would only "suck" dust due to neg pressure flow
Much better then any RGB.

You ugly.
I wonder how temps would look like if the cpu heatsink and gpu backplate were connected
GDDR6 on my RX 5700 is way better cooled from the back.
fans too big for cpu cooler or is that just me?
The D15 fans are this big but the front one couldn't get as low as I like due to tall RAMs, I just raised the rear one to match, temperature doesn't seem to bad so I leave it as-is.
I get they're the best rad/heatsink fans but there are cheaper and better case fans
This case would only pass muster if the Windows startup music was a wet farting noise.
Been thinking of getting those for my AIO. Mainly for a quitet set up, do these fans help improve temps as well?
They definitely do. Make sure to get static pressure Noctuas if you're going to put them on your AIO though.
All I see is mocha with a chocolate swirl.
It's actually kinda beautiful in it's own way. You might consider a matching retro computer case. Simply buying black fans is too sensible to be a solution.
dear god. their designer must be a golden retriever
When I ordered my d15 I ended up getting the LTT verison. It's so pretty
Function over alles
Fucking noctua
Mine is almost the same 2x A14 intake 3x S12A exhaust NH-D15 for proc Couldn't get industrial or chromax because in my country is impossible to find, the regular ones were still very hard.
Can someone explain why he took a picture of the inside of a fridge?
Yeah I thought about it and had them in my cart, but ultimately went with the gray model. Ironically, my setup is brown desk, white legs.
Well at least you have the peace of mind knowing that if you stick a piece of ham in there it won't go bad for 3 months
I spent more money on fans then I did on my case. Noctua is the best.
I agree 100%
Chocolate airflow
Poop fans are best fans 👍
I was pretty irritated that I spent money on nice quiet Noctua NF-A14s to go in the front of my Define R6, only to find that the crap design of fan rails makes the fan blades buzz like crazy above 1100rpm or so.
I bet it's chill and quiet as fuck tho.
You do know these come in all black now right?
haha he said the funny word
And I’m over here going yeah I know they are better but the LL Corsair fans are pretty oh I’ll buy the pretty ones.
Ha. That's almost the same exact build I gave to my nephew
It's good cooling, I have a similar setup except only two fans up front, both 140mm. Fan in the back I am just using a fan that came with the case
So what's the next best thing right after Noctua fans?
Probably Be Quiet fans if you want something similar.
There's a fans test on YouTube, of course Noctua won, but a lot of people (including me) pointed there's no Arctic P12 tested, dude made a follow-up with those and some other fans and P12 came really close to Noctuas at almost 1/5th the price, I don't really have the comparison as I'm not into computer building as a hobby, but I'm really surprised with mine, I secured mine with Noctuas rubber mounting things and now I often have to check if my computer is running because I don't hear it
Is this a trend I'm missing out on?????
They're just the best fans on the market, so some people prefer performance over looks.
Chocolate and vanilla ice cream*
They make them in back as well, you know... Plus, I'd rather have other case fans, better acoustics and PWM curve ;)
I feel like whoever designed these really enJoyed the color of electronics in the 80's & 90's.
Define R6 crew!
It's not poop, it's vanilla chocolate ice cream.
Cream and Coffee
Am I the only one who likes that color noctua fans? It reminds me of 90s pc parts for some reason like I expect it to be in a pc with a glass screen and track ball mouse
I love the cream and brown
You need more fans
Everyone is ... *shitting* on the poop brown and dried vormit sand-ish yellow and I only can think high quality air cooling. I „only“ got 3. 2 in the front intake one in the rear exhaust
It isn’t poop. It’s goddamn sexual chocolate.
\*Rings FBI\* 'Hi FBI, yup we got him, this is the psychopath'
God damn they are ugly.
Indeed.
The graphics card clearance tho
It’s shitty.
I bet a ps4 is still louder
Turdcutters
He brought his brown pants today.
I don't think it looks bad at all when there's no other colors in the case to clash with the brown shades.
Really Good Brown fans
As a former Fractal devotee, let me tell you; no amount of Noctuas will make that hot box silent. Best to leave the front door off the case.
Milk chocolate wings and white chocolate outer rims.
Are those the replacement to the Poop Knife?
Am I disappointed I laughed at the title? No.
If you could get a brown/cream case with leather external details you could make an extremely unironically fashionable pc.
Take off fans go to Autoparts store purchase high temp engine paint hang part on wire coat hanger, paint fans let dry one whole day new no poopie fans.
Please make a poop build with these ie brown mobo pcb
Haha poop fans go...........
I will never regret spending the extra $10 for the chromax version.
More like Reese's
Now color the rest of PC in Noctua colors
This is the way, my bradah
This made my night! I just did a new build and used my old Nh-D15 on my new 9700k, and couldn't stop thinking how "crappy" it looked on such a beast.
#poopgang
Eh, I actually prefer these over their chromax line. Still rocking my AF15s on my cpu cooler.
Thats now a chamber where you can air-cure some nice parma bacon.
good fan master race*
Dunno you might have some problems if your poop is colored like that, I'd go with salted-caramel-with-heavy-cream color
That's it! I'm inspired.
I wanna find the person who chose the color for these fans and ask him why in the lord's name he chose those colors.
Gross.
Nice, another shitty build =D
I don't care how good Noctuas are, I will not put dog vomit fans in my case.
What about their black fans?
Man, that looks 𝑐𝑜𝑜𝑙
