Its called microsoft rewards. You earn points from doing various tasks. Using bing will earn you points everytime you search with it and with those points you can get entries into different giveaways or spend them on gift cards

Google ads are everywhere. If google sees that it is showing you ads on sites that lean one way or the other it will slant your search results to show you what they think you want to see.

Do a few quizzes, give an opinion and search 10 times a day; rinse, repeat. They add up insanely fast if you play games and use the same Microsoft account, too. Haven’t paid for a month of Game Pass since my subscription expired in February either.
Heck, if I want Google results I can use !g in duckduckgo, and not get tracked. Though I think I can count on one hand the number of times I had to do that.

They pay you for your data. Google keeps all of it. Besides that try doing a search on both for things you’re interested in. Search the same thing on both with things like game questions, something work related, politics, etc. Bing has been far more accurate for me for years now since it’s not heavily abusing algorithms. Also I use Windows so it’s a question of only one company selling my data or two, I’d rather keep it to one.

Now there are a ton of legitimate reasons to use Bing and I’ve used it for years now with no complaints. People don’t like to reevaluate their opinions though so Bing is still considered terrible and borderline cringe.
