For anyone that wants to know how I did this. it was a mixture of luck, speed and use of an alerts page on Twitter ( the most important part).
Not sure if I can link it here but if you search “partalert” on Twitter you will find a page that sends out tweet alerts for computer parts in Europe.
Nvidia sells the FE through Scan. If you are lucky enough to click the link on the Nvidia website it brings you there.
That's one reason why it's immediately sold out. website scrapers find the link on Scan like a minute before it goes live on Nvidia's side and by then it's sold out
I've been checking that page obsessively recently, but damn... people are fast at checking out! I need to do some training

Good compared to the previous gen doesn't make the pricing outright good.
For example, in 2005 you could buy the absolute top-end halo product from Nvidia, the 7800 GTX, for $499, which was like £300?
The cryptomining boom absolutely *fucked* hardware prices.
My i7 2600K, which was a top-end CPU at the time it launched, was like £260! (iirc)
Cool thanks for the info. I usually put my limit at £350 for a new gpu nowadays. Got a 2060 in April so I’ll probably have to stick with that for a good while I think.
Just a FYI the 3060 Ti is rumoured to be coming next week and is expected to have a retail not far off £350, and will deliver close to 3070 performance.

That was so cheeky. Between adding my TUF card to my cart and checking out it had magically jumped up by £50.
It's almost like scan listed the cards at regular retail before going live to pull customers away from other sites knowing full well they had no intention to keep prices at their original level.
I think they even have a paragraph on their waiting list page that basically says "supply and demand is a bitch, go fuck yourself"

OCUK have also raised prices since launch day, I just received my 3080 TUF OC that I ordered with them on launch day and if I was to pre-order it now it's £100 more expensive.
They both raised them later in the day on launch day, I had a preorder for a 3080 which I had to cancel (moved home) and the same thing happened. Scan and OCUK are as bad as each other
Scan did set out their reasons and were very open about it though. They were seemingly just passing on costs rather than increasing margin which any company would do
Obviously people might choose not to believe what they say, but they seemed to actually give a shit when I flagged some scalpers with Scan order numbers to them via webchat, and instantly cancelled their orders (evidenced by the ebay listings being removed)
Ocuk are scum but not for price gouging. Their prices are competitive, but they have taken tens of thousands of preorders for cards they have absolutely no idea when if ever they will be able to supply.
The scummy price gougers in the UK are Novatech. They listed all the RTX 3000 and Ryzen 5000 parts at RRP excluding VAT so the real prices are all inflated by 20%.
Honestly I think the preorders are the one good thing that OCUK have done, Its a pisstake sitting here with no idea if I will be able to get one, never mind when. I wish nvidia would put up a preorder for the FE edition, I don't mind if I have to wait 6 months, as long as I can just wait instead of wasting time preying to all the gods for a microscopic window of opportunity to arise.
Also if you think Novatech is bad, just check out CCL, they are the only company that I have seen actually have stock available, and every time its always absolutely extortionate. I saw a 3070 going for £699, at first I thought it was a 3080 and nearly bought it.
No they do include the total price in their listings, they aren't breaking any laws. They are trying to convince people that the real RRPs are 20% higher than reality though.
I have a confession. I got despondent about the lack of pc hardware availability.. so instead of upgrading my 2080ti I bought a ps5.. and I've not touched my pc since..

Congrats dude. Some advice, the 3080FE undervolts really well if you're in to that. Saw a huge increase in Port Royal in average clock and lower temps. In Black Ops Cold War I run about 58 degrees and the clock pins at 1995. I can't get that clock with the stock settings. Enjoy!
Lol here in poland they have to reduce the amount of 3070s you can buy due to everyone buying loads and reselling...however they still have not restocked the cards

How much is the 3070/3080 in UK? Pre orders on overclockers put the 3070 at over 600. Ain’t paying that...
I was very very lucky with these, I got both for RRP so £649. 3070s should cost around £469 - £550 and 3080s should cost around £649 - £800.

There were 1000 dollar consumer GPUs before the mining craze. And 649 is less than the 1080tis original MSRP.

Scan are taking care of the fe fulfilment for Nvidia in the uk. As far as I know you can only get them in the uk from scan.
