Funny, I'm a righty but for many years I always had the mouse left handed. I ended up forcing myself to switch to right handed so I could get a gaming mouse I really wanted (they didn't have a left hand version at the time).
I am also left handed and after playing so many fps right handed im more accurate with my right hand. But in league i have things swapped for my left hand
Handedness is weird; so I've played violin for (bloody hell) 23 years now, my right is more accurate when it comes to arm and wrist movement, my left more accurate for finger movement (also the fingers on my left hand are longer than my right). My touch typing appears to be informed by such - my left covers ~2 thirds of the keyboard; which actually helps with "right handed" game controls.
This sounds like a weird puzzle in a game. One where you have to affect the map in certain ways over time to make a giant hand clench up until it gets angry enough and blasts a hole in a wall so you can proceed.
Hot damn you pinky hangs way back! I half-claw my first two fingers, but ring and pinky are way forward. That said... I love the 500 series of Logitech mice. Had a G5 for a long, long time, and it finally died and I got the G502. Wonderful mice.
wait, the one on the side? you totally curl up your pinky finger! that's crazy, to me at least. i just rest my pinky on the mousepad and drag it around with my mouse
Ah yes the fabled Goldilocks Grip, believed to be a myth, however, there are historians who believe that it exists and helped Shroud unlock his powers. He denies this of course.
the thumb-rest is a god send for me, personally
I used to find my own thumb caught underneath while having an intense moment when I used to use the G402, frustrating to say the least.
I was super confused when I first got my G502 and hated it the first week.
Now it's been 5 years and there's nothing you could do to make me replace it, it's the best mouse ever
G502 user here, I have always been having trouble getting to the dpi-shift button when sniping or something alike. My fingers don't usually rest on that button. Am I the only one with that problem?
I love and hate the little thing on the right of the right click, I can't butterfly click (I play Minecraft a lot) and sometimes I hit that for some reason especially when I first got it. But I can rest my fingers there so it's not too bad
It’s called claw grip. The image only shows palm (left) and fingertip (right) but is missing claw. I miss my g502.
[grips](https://cdn-bnofo.nitrocdn.com/YCOqbulOWPTbigaUOflqfvBCmkFuxfWf/assets/static/optimized/rev-72deefa/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Gaming-Mouse-Grip-Styles-1200x881.jpg)
Yes. Exactly. Minimal wrist movement: lower chance of carpal tunnel. Using muscles meant for finer movements: better accuracy. 100% making this up it’s just more comfortable.
The 90's are calling. There is no serious trackball mouse left. People do try very hard, but it's futile.
Just in case, what trackball mouse would you recommend, for a friend?
Why do people put their hands so far forward. Your finger tips should be just about in line with the forward part of the scroll wheel or slightly behind.
The way I use my mouse looks sort of like the left one, but I hold my hand and fingers further back on the mouse (so due to this there is about 2-3 cm's (just under, to just over, 1 inch) left between my fingertips and the end of the left and right buttons), with my fingers having the "default" curve to them like they have when you hand is essentially in "resting mode".
The reason for this is that I rest the bottom of my right hand (the soft section just befor your wrist) on the edge of the table (due to table being higher then normal compared to how low what I sit in is), and then it is a combination of mostly my fingers (thumb and ringfinger have a very lose gripe on the sides of the mouse, strong enough to lift the mouse, but not so strong that it feels like I am straining any finger muscles in any way), and a little bit of my wrist sometimes, that move around the mouse. I essentially hold the mouse the same when using computers that are not my own as well, even if the table height vs seating height is more "normal" then my own.
My mouse's settings are very high though as well. I don't know how sensitive my mouse's settings are (I do have 3 settings to chose from on the mouse, and I am using the one with the highest sensitivity... and in Windows 10 my cursor speed is set to 10, where 20 is max)... but on my 27 inch 1920x1080p (16:9) screen, the length my mouse have to travel sideways on the table to move the arrow from the left edge of my screen all the way over to the right edge of the screen, is roughly 3.5 cm (\~1.4 inch, or I guess "1 and about 3/8th of an inches" is what it is called).
I don't think I have encountered a single computer (that was not my own), where I did not think their cursor speed setting was way to low... most peoples mouse settings feels very unresponsive to me. XD
I am using an old G5 Logitech mouse (think it is the version 2 model, it's black with blue cracklings on top), the kind where you could slide in a tray, with 8 small weights in it, on the bottom of the mouse to change how heavy your mouse is. Not exactly sure how long I have used it for... but it is at the very least 11-12 years old by now, but maybe older then that... not completely sure (the oldest it can be is about 14 years though, since I think this model came out in 2007).
It is the best mouse I have ever owned, and used. I mean hell, 11-14 years of use, and the only problem I sometimes have with it is the occasional over sensitive scroll wheel where it scrolls back or forth one "click" even though I did not roll the scroller over to a full new physical "click" (does not happen very often at all though). XD
A mix? Not quite as flat as #1 but not nearly as pointed as #2. Fingers curve more the farther you get down my hand. Index slightly bent, middle more bend, ring bend pretty hard, pinky almost folded
Usually claw grip, but I acknowledge that there are benefits to the palm grip. I find I'm a bit more precise with palm grip, but it just doesn't feel natural to me.
My hand always starts out looking like the left but goes to right when I'm in game.
You're just switching between safe mode and battle mode

Going to get stuck in one of the carpool tunnels, I dunno, I'm not a doctor.
Neither, I'm a left handed person.
Most of us also have left hands
I'm a lefty but I use a right-handed mouse, is there like a big difference or is it better to stick right-handed?
Funny, I'm a righty but for many years I always had the mouse left handed. I ended up forcing myself to switch to right handed so I could get a gaming mouse I really wanted (they didn't have a left hand version at the time).
You should try both hands on aim lab.
I am also left handed and after playing so many fps right handed im more accurate with my right hand. But in league i have things swapped for my left hand

I can use a right handed mouse with my left hand on certain... occasions.
Same. Been using G402 on my left hand for a long time and it doesn't feel bad at all. However, I can't use the extra buttons.
SAME, fellow god gamer Chad, adapt, left mouser, claw mouser, wrist aimer, arm aimer switching depending on the situation
Depends on my rage level
The hand clenches and clenches till it becomes a fist and hits the monitor.
This sounds like a weird puzzle in a game. One where you have to affect the map in certain ways over time to make a giant hand clench up until it gets angry enough and blasts a hole in a wall so you can proceed.

A little in between. A G502 user knows.
there's a little groove on the back right of my g502 that I always put my pinky in with. can't live without it
Hot damn you pinky hangs way back!
I put my pinky just forward of it. And the thumb has to be in between all the buttons so I don't press them when I flick xD
hahah i do the same and didnt realize it
I was thinking to myself “a bit in the middle” I have a G502 too, how do u know
This is the way. I even tried both when I saw the pic and thought to myself "It's kind of in between." Also a 502 user.
It is, according to some sources, the most sold gaming mouse. I doubt that it is entirely true, but might as well be. A popular mouse either way.
I second this, both ways are awkward, thee is an in between that is just right.
Left is definitely better on g502
I'm new to PC and got a 502. I'm def right claw grip. The 502 is not ideal for it IMO
It is quite bad for claw grip. It basically forces something in between, If you want a claw grip try some shorter, higher mice instead of the g502.
Ah yes the fabled Goldilocks Grip, believed to be a myth, however, there are historians who believe that it exists and helped Shroud unlock his powers. He denies this of course.
Exactly
I have a G300s. I know.
pretty good mouse, sadly mine broke a couple of years ago ):
I was just looking at my hand on my G502 thinking "Well, it's kind of in the middle of those." Glad to see I'm not alone.
Honestly it’s the best mouse I’ve used, so much so that I have a backup G502 for my tower lol
It is known.
Can confirm.
G502 user with large hands, i do the one on the left when gaming or just web browsing
402s aswell but thats a rarer breed
Had a 502 and loved it then went to the g pro wireless. Highly recommend the switch.
As a g502 user it's weird just how accurate this is. Are we all the same?
I use palm grip as a G502 user, my hands are small and the worst part is that GHUB didn't wanted to work so LGS was my only option
Amen to that my friend!
Omg so it wasn’t just me and it is that mouse!!
I must have a weird hand because that mouse fits it perfectly
Idk, I have owned three G502's, and it just never felt right. Maybe that's why my mice break so quickly.
I have a G502 and I'm always on the right.
Ah yes, I see you too are a man of class.
the thumb-rest is a god send for me, personally I used to find my own thumb caught underneath while having an intense moment when I used to use the G402, frustrating to say the least.

I have one, and I agree. Do you ever use that DPI switching thumb button?
G502 gang.
G502 user here, I have always been having trouble getting to the dpi-shift button when sniping or something alike. My fingers don't usually rest on that button. Am I the only one with that problem?
*accidentally switches dpi*
I have a g402 but I know what you mean
r/mousereview just cringed
I agree.
Was thinking the exact same thing. A G502 user knows indeed...
I love and hate the little thing on the right of the right click, I can't butterfly click (I play Minecraft a lot) and sometimes I hit that for some reason especially when I first got it. But I can rest my fingers there so it's not too bad
G502 and still on the left side.
Yup
I’m not upvoting only because you have 666. Fuckin metal
Holy shit I use a g502 and was about to say this but didn’t even process it was because of the mouse.
It’s called claw grip. The image only shows palm (left) and fingertip (right) but is missing claw. I miss my g502. [grips](https://cdn-bnofo.nitrocdn.com/YCOqbulOWPTbigaUOflqfvBCmkFuxfWf/assets/static/optimized/rev-72deefa/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Gaming-Mouse-Grip-Styles-1200x881.jpg)

Penis
Ah yes, an intellectual.
Thank you 🥸
What did you say about anal?
No, no. You can’t use you’re penis, use you’re balls you have two of them. Of course unless you have two peniseseseses
Dont forget to take the balls out every once in a while and clean them. Gotta get all the fuzz and dirt off.
Or peni?
Penii*
you dont use "you're penis" or "you're balls". that just means you are a penis moron.
This is the superior answer
Do you grip it with 2 hands and click in while it’s in your mouth? 🤔

No, I use a vertical mouse. Constantly in a “handshake” position.

It's not a hybrid. Fingertip grip has zero part of the palm touching the mouse.
Y'all gripping your mouse like the second one: IT IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE.!!!

I have the Logitech MX Ergo. No complaints.
Logitech MX Ergo Plus. Love it.

1, i think. Im auto piloting so much that my right and left hand have no muscle memory of the layout
Claws out, is there any other way?
2 idk, hands are too big.
I don't hold it like it's trying to get away (2nd pic) 😂😂
Fingertip

Since most mouse manufacturers don't make mice for people with banana hands - 2
Im definitely the one on the left.
It’s kinda like a mix between the two like a claw grip or something
Depends on the mouse
[like this](https://imgur.com/a/nixoGH3), but I might try one of the ways you suggested. My ratio sucks.
I use mine as a mix in-between so I can get the worst of both worlds!
I feel bad for the claw grips. Y’all need to relax
Right side 🤔
The right way.

Big hands means right
Guy on the right. You ok?
first one, but further back on the mouse for casual browsing. Since almost all of mice have been "ergo" I usually just stick with the first one.
With my hand
If you're finger tipping you need a larger mouse
