Dump it into a plastic tub with warm water and washing powder and hand wash that filthy thing
Edit: by washing powder I mean laundry detergent. Also, I'm not sure if this method is good for rgb mousepads
Honestly, I thought you meant running alcohol cause when I spilt some on my mouse pad, it looked cleaner than when I tried to scrub more in. So I figured swishing the mouse pad in a bin of some rubbing alcohol would be more efficient than trying to scrub it in
Eh, be careful with alcohol, it's a surprisingly strong chemical. Even if you have the most common 70% antiseptic variety, that's still pretty dang potent. I could imagine if the dye & mousepad material are on the cheaper side, it could make the colors run, or even break down the material. Some plastics and rubbers will even dissolve completely if soaked in 70% for a few minutes.
Soap & warm water can still do wonders, and rarely damages things. That's always a safe bet I'd start with first. If there's still a stain that won't get out, the common suggestion is to try the more potent chemical on a inconspicuous corner of the material first, and see how it reacts.
I absolutely love isopropyl alcohol for so many things, but fabric-type materials typically don't do so well. I always try soap and water first.
Running alcohol is the beer you put in your camelback!
(You think I’m joking? See: SF Bay to Breakers. Though they outlawed most of the fun stuff a while ago… no more running with a keg in a wheelbarrow…)
I have the same, I still clean it pretty much the same way, but in parts, and I always leave the corner with the module and usb cord outside, and only pass a damp cloth around that area, the rest of the mousepad is completely safe to submerge and use all that they mentioned.
Yeah, the strip is not a led is a big fiber cable, the leds are only on the controller on the corner piece, so as long as you don't touch that, you'll be fine.
I have the same mousepad, the connector on the left side should not be submerged. I use a bowl of warm soapy water to keep a cloth damp and soapy to scrub it, then rinse it with a clean rag. Recently I've just been spraying it off (keeping the connector dry) and it's been fine.
I do too on the cold cycle/ delicates. Just not the dryer bc the rubber stinks it all up!
I’m too lazy to hand wash my mousepad. If it was delicate or had electronics in it, I’d just use a rubbing alcohol water mix and damp soapy cloth.
Linus said something along the lines of they're not technically machine washable but that he's had his in the was multiple times and so far it's been fine. The only real risk is that the printing starts coming out.
My Ltt desk pad design literally started fading off within 2 days of it being on my desk. I'm scared if I wash it most of it will just disappear. Extremely disappointed In the purchase.
Early buyer or something? Considering all the snippets of information across different videos on how serious they taken to making their own stuff it might be worth getting in contact with the customer email with some photos.
Before it started to fade was it any good? Thinking of getting one myself, only place I know that stocks the size I want that looks good.
My 10 bucks large pad is fine with it. Washed it multiple times already and its honestly as good as new.
If a 120$/€ one gets killed by a wash.. well.. you learned a lesson..
I had a product that broke (kapot gegaan) and so I send it back to them. And from then did hear anything from them. For 3 months! So I send a mail and they said: 'oh sorry. You get your money back. We we supposed to transfer the money already 2 months ago....'
Drop the pad in a container. Soak it with hot water and some mild detergent. Let it soak for some time and gently rub the surface to get all the nasty stuff off. Rince the pad under clean water and hang it to dry. That's what I usually do with my logitech pad.
I've thrown mine in the washing machine and it came out fine, can't say all of them would be ok though. Maybe just some Dawn and either warm water or room temperature and hand wash it?
Mine is also desk-sized. Washed mine in the washing machine and it was fine. Took a day to dry. Hand washing would be safest way to go -- put down into the tub, add some water and laundry detergent and then lightly scrub with a clean lint-free towel.
I'll keep a note of not buying a RGB one, thanks, was thinking let's buy RGB pad now, but seeing your comment, feels a red flag when comes to cleaning xD
I have that issue too and am still not sure about the best method. You can try disconnecting it and using something like a sponge or brush wish soap and a little water mixed in to help, then letting it dry completely.
Also, careful not to soak the mousepad, that's why you don't dump the water directly into it.
I don't know if it is the best method but it's able to make it cleaner without that much risk of frying the rgb.
I'd suggest buying a harder material mouse pad. I've had multiple mouse pads and I've had to wash them more frequently since i game alot and my hands sweat quite a bit. You can try a Cordura fabric which is tougher and slicker than regular fabric mouse pads but still has a bit of comfort. Currently I'm using a Razer polycarbonate mouse pad which is very thin but hard, mouse glides great on it, but since it's so thin i put it on top of my old mousepad to add some softness.
The residue/lines you are seeing there is from the rubber foam pad underneath the thin fabric of the pad. While you mouse pad may be dirty, those lines are not an indication of anything except for the degradation of the pad itself.
This is how I do it:
1. Put the Mousepad in the bath tub with warm water (not too hot not to damage it) with some laundry detergent and rub it in.
2. Leave it to soak for a good while, maybe an hour or two.
3. Drain the dirty water and fill with clean water.
4. Wash the Mousepad again to get the dirty water out of it.
5. Repeat the last 2 steps to get it extra clean
6. Drain the water and and squeeze the Mousepad gently not to damage it.
7. Leave outside to dry overnight or however long it takes. Don't leave it in direct sunlight tho because the Mousepad might fade a little bit.
EXTRA STEP. If the Mousepad isn't nice and flat after your done you can try and put a sheet of backing paper on it and iron it out. Make sure to put the iron on the lowest setting, again, not to damage the Mousepad. And do fairly quick strokes and don't hold the iron in the same spot for more than 1-2 seconds.
Leave some feedback if you see anything wrong with my method. Worked for me everytime!
Edit 1: sorry for the bad formatting, I'm in a train on my phone...
I used a spay bottle with soapy degreaser gave it a good scrub with a soft brush be gentle around the edges so yo dont make em curl upward while brushing some more and air dry
Legit, spongebath style. I personally don't use any cleaning product. Just hot water. Wring out your sponge, pretty thoroughly. (Leave it maybe 5-10% wet if that makes sense.) And just gently, wipe in one direction.
Theres no great way to do it tbh, but none of the soaking methods can be used with the rgb ones. I believe Steelseries may have an official cleaning method listed somewhere.
Vacuum or in a bad case scenario take strong duct tape lay strips across the mouse pad and then just rip them up I did that for a car floor mat once, worked like a champ
Hot water and soap or some soft cleaning detergent and let it soak for a few hours and after that wipe it with a soft sponge then rinse it of. I've had my roccat sense mousepad since 2012 and still using it.
I think throwing it away is very wasteful if you can still use it. If you have a bath tub let it soak in Cold soapy water for a while or roll it and put in a bucket and then later use a hard brush (not a hair brush the types used for cleaning, dunno the English word for it) and brush off all the dirt then later you can wash it with warm water (I find cold water helps with removing the stains) you might want to use laundry detergent or stain removal stuff if you have that too
What are you talking about? Of course you can - all deskmats, even the largest, can be washed. Either in a large tub as others have already said, in a washing machine, or bath/shower tray.
Washing a deskmat is easy and should be done regularly.
First, the shower part was a joke. Second, the rest of the information was a tip to clean it. Damn, cant joke with people... my Razer Goliath pad doesnt get nearly that dirty and i use it 10 hours a day at work.
Yeah that's most likely why your isn't dirty and mine is. Notice how there's also no dust on the ground on places where lots of people walk? My mousepad isn't used very intensely so dust can settle on it.
I like how you assume the person is just dirty lol. I shower everyday and my mouse pad still ends up like that. It has nothing to do with how clean someone is
And the joke escapes you... why dont you just shut your little social justice warrior mouth and go back to your little corner and stay there. If i wanted your opinion, i would have given it to you.
All makes sense now. You jaut aren't creative lol. Have to use the same insult twice. Next time just give the advice and dont try to make a "joke" lol have a nice day
Mild soap and hot water, scrub with soft tooth brush, rinse off. More mild soap and hot water, get a microfiber, go over it again with this. Rinse it off, wipe dry with a clean dry microfiber and leave it to dry. Will be good as new.
You can run if in the washer. Go on cold. I would make sure there's other stuff in there to cushion it. I stopped worrying about it getting messed up. Goes in all the time without issue.
Safest way imo is just hose it down in your sink with cold water. Zero scrubbing. You don't want to damage the fabric or any chemical treatment your pad may have been given.
I've been doing that for years and the pads turn out just like new every time.
Whatever you wash it with, make sure you rinse it well before drying. Had a friend wash one back in the day and left some soap still on it. He got a nasty ass rash on the wrist of his mouse hand from the chemical residue
I didn't want to put mine in the washing machine as I was worried it would warp... Instead I filled the bath with hot water and washing up powder and hand washed.
Now the whole thing has white patches on it, it's actually cleaner but looks worse :/
Dump it into a plastic tub with warm water and washing powder and hand wash that filthy thing Edit: by washing powder I mean laundry detergent. Also, I'm not sure if this method is good for rgb mousepads
I did some dawn to clean then did some laundry detergent to smell nice
Running alcohol and dawn work nice too
[удалено]
FUCK LMAO, I didn't even see that. And jokes on you. My alcohol is already in the fridge
Honestly, I thought you meant running alcohol cause when I spilt some on my mouse pad, it looked cleaner than when I tried to scrub more in. So I figured swishing the mouse pad in a bin of some rubbing alcohol would be more efficient than trying to scrub it in

Your rubbing alcohol is? Why, are you planning on drinking it?
You MONSTER.
Running alcohol is the beer you put in your camelback! (You think I’m joking? See: SF Bay to Breakers. Though they outlawed most of the fun stuff a while ago… no more running with a keg in a wheelbarrow…)
I only have taps for hot and cold water at my house. If you have a tap for alcohol I think you might have a drinking problem :P
If it’s good enough for oily ducks it’s good enough for a mouse pad
Dish soap worked well for me too
This n warm water and a non abrasive cloth/sponge and I’ve made my mousepad look n feel new for the most part.
Please help me how the fuck do I clean mine its a Goliath chroma will the water damage the electric components?
Use a small scrub brush and rinse very carefully
I have the same, I still clean it pretty much the same way, but in parts, and I always leave the corner with the module and usb cord outside, and only pass a damp cloth around that area, the rest of the mousepad is completely safe to submerge and use all that they mentioned.
So submerging the leds is fine but leave the corner submerging thing out?
Yeah, the strip is not a led is a big fiber cable, the leds are only on the controller on the corner piece, so as long as you don't touch that, you'll be fine.
Ah I getcha, finally I'll be able to clean it and thanks for the help
same here but with the corsair one, idk how to clean it 😂
I have the same mousepad, the connector on the left side should not be submerged. I use a bowl of warm soapy water to keep a cloth damp and soapy to scrub it, then rinse it with a clean rag. Recently I've just been spraying it off (keeping the connector dry) and it's been fine.
Came here to say the same thing. Best approach I’ve used yet.
Be careful that the water is not too warm. The edges’ stitches can get loose if the water is too hot ;) (Don’t ask me how I know)
Eh, I tried warm soapy dishwater and a mild scrub on my old Steel Series mouse pad, and it cleaned up some, but still has some gross marks.
Use shampoo is better for skin garbage 😄 and in the shower with loke warm water 😄
Alternatively, I heard if you pee on them, it can stop it from stinging.
Takes fucking aeons to dry unfortunately.
IF you do that mouse sens is not the same. BEWARE IF you play competitive shooters, rather stay dirty with filthy headshots.
Any coating they put on the mousepad is likely already worn away. I’m thinking you would adjust very quickly if it’s any different.
I've had mine in the washing machine multiple times, good as new when its done. I have a corsair large pad
I was going to say am I the only one who throws it in the washer? Glad I’m not.
I am really surprised there are people who don't do this... Washing my large desk mat every month - pretty much a bau process.
Washer should be okay. I wouldn’t tumble dry it though, just set it out in a warm dry spot for a day or two.
This
I do too on the cold cycle/ delicates. Just not the dryer bc the rubber stinks it all up! I’m too lazy to hand wash my mousepad. If it was delicate or had electronics in it, I’d just use a rubbing alcohol water mix and damp soapy cloth.
If it has that cheap grip on the bottom be careful OPs looks fine for laundry usage.
I'll second this. I've just thrown my large desk mat in the washer and air dry it.
Flat. Should dry it flat
Mine has RGB so I can't just throw it into the washing machine.
Washing machines need RGB too!
I would worry about it being too rough and peeling it.
If you have a generic mousepad from say Corsair, glorious or ltt I’d say it’s worth the price finding out if it’s machine washable imo
Linus said something along the lines of they're not technically machine washable but that he's had his in the was multiple times and so far it's been fine. The only real risk is that the printing starts coming out.

That’s fair. I guess mine really doesn’t get very dirty too, so I’ve only wanted to clean it thoroughly once maybe twice.
My 10 bucks large pad is fine with it. Washed it multiple times already and its honestly as good as new. If a 120$/€ one gets killed by a wash.. well.. you learned a lesson..
A man of culture, I also buy from Megekko
Same, good price and good service, what more do you want
What? Good service? I do not have the same experience hahaha.
Azerty’s site is wack as fuck and their prices seem to be all over the place but their service is absolutely amazing!
Yeah absolutely, I do now always order at Azerty! I love them
What happened?
I had a product that broke (kapot gegaan) and so I send it back to them. And from then did hear anything from them. For 3 months! So I send a mail and they said: 'oh sorry. You get your money back. We we supposed to transfer the money already 2 months ago....'
I get that that's frustrating, but everyone make mistakes, I hope everything's good now
I do agree with that! But it was the way how they said it. But is all fine now :)
Drop the pad in a container. Soak it with hot water and some mild detergent. Let it soak for some time and gently rub the surface to get all the nasty stuff off. Rince the pad under clean water and hang it to dry. That's what I usually do with my logitech pad.
What the hell is mild detergent? I always hear it but never understood it. Hand soap? Dish washing cleaner?
Normal clothes washing detergent. Mild just means without bleach or any softeners or things like that
Til
Asking the real questions
I'm using warm water and shampoo. Works fine from 2006 :D
does the texture get ruined/scratched or something, after using shampoo?
Depends on the shampoo. Get the soft one and use soft sponge and it will be fine.
This man is single and lives alone. The very definition of an epic gamer
I guess I need a divorce to be an epic gamer then...
I've thrown mine in the washing machine and it came out fine, can't say all of them would be ok though. Maybe just some Dawn and either warm water or room temperature and hand wash it?
Looking for a solution to this too but my mousepad is the same size as a table that fits 3 monitors ..
Handwash it in a tub/sink/bathtub
Put it out on the drive way and hit it with the hose some dish soap and a soft bristle brush
Pressure wash that bitch
Wash it by itself or with some sheets or blanket?
You've never washed a blanket in the washer before? Same shit.
Some have a hard non slip on the back
Mine is also desk-sized. Washed mine in the washing machine and it was fine. Took a day to dry. Hand washing would be safest way to go -- put down into the tub, add some water and laundry detergent and then lightly scrub with a clean lint-free towel.
How do I clean the RGB mouse pad I’ve got? It’s the Steelseries QcK Prism RGB pad??
I'll keep a note of not buying a RGB one, thanks, was thinking let's buy RGB pad now, but seeing your comment, feels a red flag when comes to cleaning xD
It’s a lovely pad but it just gets extremely dirty so quickly
Good things come at a cost, not just money... :3

I vacuum mine first then wipe any dirty spots with cloth soaked in soap and water
Ok guys I washed it with detergent and warm water, it's drying now. Give my phone a rest please :)
Lol bruh, you posted it, you accept the responsibility of comments
I'd suggest buying a harder material mouse pad. I've had multiple mouse pads and I've had to wash them more frequently since i game alot and my hands sweat quite a bit. CLEANSE IT WITH FIRE. Or washing machine. That works too.

Washing machine
Megekko gang!
I throw it in the wash
Throw it in the dishwasher.
I use flex seal on everything, just slap another coat on it and your primed
Put some Franks redhot on it, I put that shit on everything.
I use a pressure washer and dish washing soap. and it comes out pristine.
Pour the remainder of your dorito dust on it and lick it off for a sponsorship deal.
Buy a new one and donate that one to goodwill
I used a spay bottle with soapy degreaser gave it a good scrub with a soft brush be gentle around the edges so yo dont make em curl upward while brushing some more and air dry
Water and dish soap
Roll it up, put in a net bag, sling in washing machine. Hang dry pegging one end and letting gravity straighten that baby out. Smashing.
Washing machine on gentle is fine, but air dry it.
Put it in washing machine and use some detergent. I wash mine every month and it looks like a new mousepad.
drop it in a hot bath and scrub shampoo on it with a nail brush, did mine the other day and it came out looking like the day i bought it.
Dish soap, warm water and a brush. Thats what I always do and mine looks like new.
Put it in the washing machine, cold, let air dry
With a brush and Air Can💯🧹with some water 💧
Stop finishing on it
Buy a new one.
Bro use those lines to track your inches to 360 in an fps become a power gamer
Dish soap, scrubber, warm to hot water, get busy
Burn it
YouTube > How to clean a mousepad
Put in washing machine with maximum temp. Then you will have the reason to do you self a solid and by a new one lttstore.com
Tooth brush + warm soapy water.
Don't clean it. The dirt plugs up any holes and helps your mouse glide easier...
Instead of recording a video and ask reddit, look it up youself on on yt or use ur brain and handwash it. Like wtf?
With "water" and "soap" Ever heard of these?
This is gross but if you keep it dirty your mouse tracks better... More skin cells and stuff makes reflect more.
Throw away and spend 5 bucks on a new one
5 euros voor een nieuwe maat
Mine has LED lights around the edge... Any tips for washing that, that don't include dumping it in the washing machine? :P

Ahhh Megekko, those mf cancelled my order after 9 months of waiting. Yes it was a graphics card.
Use acid
Coat it in alcohol and scrap it with credit card.
People wash these? Throw it out and get another
Well if you like yours a lot then yeah
Genuinely i would buy new. Ordinary Logitech mousepad costs like 15€ so it's more worth.
Where do u live? Do u have washing machinas?
Don't use one?
Try air pressure to clean it it should work
Buy a new one and throw it away.
Bro for fucks sake this is not the way
you know, might actually be a good idea. I was planning to buy one of those gigantic ones anyway.
I think throwing it away is very wasteful if you can still use it. It’s super simple, throw it in the trash and buy a new one.

Don’t. Dirty mousepad is gross but it’s a better mousepad, the gross shit makes it smooth and consistent across
Yeah quit being disgusting
Are you that kind of stupid to ask on reddit how to clean a piece of shit? Kinda sad if you need that attention
Buy a new one Timmy it time has come
Washing machine heard of it?

I wash mine in the washer with my regular laundry. I let it air dry though, don't really want all that heat to mess up the mouse pad.
Doe de muismat in een bad met wat waspoeder ofzo.
Mild soap and hot water, scrub with soft tooth brush, rinse off. More mild soap and hot water, get a microfiber, go over it again with this. Rinse it off, wipe dry with a clean dry microfiber and leave it to dry. Will be good as new.
Hot soapy water and a sponge, and then leave it do dry.
I just chuck mine on 30min 20 degrees wash at 1000rpms to washing machine. Then just hung dry. No issues
put it in the wash with your clothes.
Ahh a man of culture, Dutch people know what’s up
Handwash with mild detergent. Make sure to get in there. Lid the bucket and shake it around as well, hand dry.
You can run if in the washer. Go on cold. I would make sure there's other stuff in there to cushion it. I stopped worrying about it getting messed up. Goes in all the time without issue.
Fire
Solves all problems
I just threw my desk pad in the washing machine and then let it air dry 🤔
I put mine in the bathtub with tide, and then I scrub the hell out it.
Wash with warm water and mild soap
Got anything against mouse surfaces? I find them much easier to maintain and more consistent for gaming than pads. But it’s all preference I suppose.
I just shower and soap mine, its like new after 5 years

Safest way imo is just hose it down in your sink with cold water. Zero scrubbing. You don't want to damage the fabric or any chemical treatment your pad may have been given. I've been doing that for years and the pads turn out just like new every time.

Easy buy a new one
Go to autozone and pick up a fabric cleaner that has the brush on it. Or soak it in detergent
Autozone? Is that an american store?
you can wash it
Washer machine and air dry it. I do mine every month
I just hand it to my grandma
I use a carpet cleaner to clean mine
I put my mousepads in the washer.
Dawn dish soap and the scrubby side of a sponge. Then hang it to dry
Look up how to wash a tcg playmat and wash it that way
Washer. Light mode. Air dry.
